Went there last night October 13th 2020 at 1am had the worse service ever. Had to wait 15 minutes for someone to come to my table and ask what drinks I want. Waitress had a nasty attitude whole time had to get up and find the waitress to get refills. Food was disgusting I been going here for 30 years never had such a bad experience. Grey hair manager talks to his employees disgusting and has very poor customer service skills overall I still left the lady a 14 dollar tip, never again will I go there what a disgrace. A staple in the community, I've always had good experiences at this diner. Breakfast, lunch or dinner at any hour, you cannot go wrong and it's affordable - all things I love about diners. They have a pretty lengthy menu and the staff know it pretty well. I have been coming here since I was a child. I do know that the diner has recently changed ownership several times in the past 2 years. The food is not a problem, it never has been. Sometimes there is a coleslaw or bbq sauce missing from order but that is ok. One of the issues lately is the blonde manager/owner(?) always very flirty with me but nasty to my wife. I thought maybe it was a bad day for her the first time, but now my wife refuses to go in. The lady is rude and never fails to not stare at my wife in a rude demeanor. One time she asked my wife rudely " what are u waiting for in front of my register!" She clearly has a problem with attractive women. I have also seen it while dining in, how she stares at other women, very weird. I let it slide that the place hires rude streetwalkers( they hung up the phone on my wife when she called to speak to owner). Crew is odd. Go to table talk or acropolis. You can clearly see the Vanikiotis family does not run the place anymore. If you do go like I said food is not bad. Go in the early morning! Guy Mikey is a Manager really nice and respectful and the overnight crew is good too. The overnight manager has been there for years. Avoid dinners completely, especially if u want to be treated decent. New Owner please evaluate the faces and personalities up front, and answering the phone! When I was attending Marist, I used to frequent this place. One, because it was walking distance from the college and two, because it was open 24 hours a day. I digress...their food isn't great but it isn't too bad either. It's definitely edible. I LOVE their Summer Sensation - which is some sort of tropical smoothie (I believe it has pineapple in it). The service is good and I even befriended a waitress that used to work there. Anyway, this place holds a lot of memories for me and for that, I will always love the Palace Diner. So I'm only giving this place 2 stars because the waitress was really sweet and attentive. Thanks Terese. My burger so NOT cooked medium. In fact it was almost well done and the meat crumbling apart. Buns were hard. Sweet Potato fries were greasy, limp and cold. Nachos were cold too. In fact, none of my food was actually at a decent hot temperature. I spent $14 for a breakfast sandwich none of my condiments are on it. when I called to let them know I was told by the person who answered, "I don't make the sandwiches the people in the back do.". this is how restaurants get bad ratings. this is how people go other places to eat. this is how businesses get shut down. Although I am never impressed with diners (they all taste the same to me), the Palace Diner is a bit ahead of the curve on this one. Swung by on St. Patricks Day and had some bangers and mash and honestly, it tasted the same as all those Irish joints on McLean Ave around the corner from me. The Palace Diner sure hits the bill on exterior decor! The menu was extensive and hit the mark for both "diner-diner" food AND upscale diner food. We were seated at a booth with a jukebox, and our awesome waitress had us sipping on coffees in no time. Truth be told, the coffee was a little bitter, but everything else more than made up for it. My husband ordered his short stack with REAL maple syrup, and a tiny little individual serving jar was delivered at his request. I had my staple: two eggs over easy, ham, home fries, and rye toast. It was delicious. My husband's short stack had a pat of butter and a sprinkle of powdered sugar. His eggs benedict were good, but no where NEAR as good as the eggs benedict that he gets at Jack's in Albany. I ordered a short stack of sweet potato pancakes. I can not tell you how delicious these are! It was like eating sweet potato pie in pancake form. Eating at the Palace made me wish that it was close than 2 hours away. If you ever find yourself in the Hudson Valley, this is definitely a place worth checking out. read more

We waited 45 minutes for our breakfast which when it arrived it was cold. The sausage was terrible, left it, afraid it was bad. Worse of all was their lack of social distancing. What is the point of plastic partitions when you allow people to stand in the isles brushing up against other diners tables with no masks on. Not one manager did or said anything to them. All is good at the palace diner.... The comfy joe is awesome - meatloaf, mashed potatoes, onion strings and gravy on challah bread.... The tex-mex wrap, which I think is a new menu item is great.... Breakfast is always good.... Great selection and great service.... I would give it 5 stars, but it can be a little pricey.... If you get a wrap with sweet potato fries and a drink, it can easily be $20 with tax and tip.... So I'm an incoming freshman at Marist, this school year. and I met up with these girls who are also incoming freshies, and she showed me this place and I liked it so much! They were pretty fast at serving our food, which is great, and not to mention that they really do rep our local colleges like Marist and DCC which is great! As a Marist alum, I have fond memories of late nights at The Palace. It's been over 20 years since I last ate there but it hasn't changed a bit. And that's a good thing. I ordered my traditional bacon cheeseburger deluxe as I did many times before while at Marist and I'm happy to report it's just as good as ever. The burger is still 8 oz. and served with cheese on both the top and bottom bun along with plenty of bacon and a ton of French Fries. Good stuff. Regardless of what you order off the huge menu, portions are big, prices are still reasonable and the food is very good. Believe it or not, to this day I still think The Palace is the best diner I've ever tried. I still haven't found one anywhere that is better. That's because whatever I ordered during my college days was always really good. Since things haven't changed in terms of quality and the food, why should I? If you didn't attend Marist you'll probably ask, "why does this guy think THIS diner is the best?" If you spent many a night there while at school, then you understand. read more

After a few hours of exploring the local area, a friend and I came here for dinner before driving back to NYC. He'd been here before, but this was my first time. The decor on the inside is great and the whole place looked clean. There were lots of delicious-looking desserts in the display case and I'm not sure how I resisted them, haha. Our waitress was friendly and our food came out quick (though they weren't very busy at the time). I ordered a vegetable quesadilla, which was good, though the pieces of vegetable were rather large. I don't think I've ever been to a diner that stood out as being really great. To me, they're all pretty much the same and you know what you're going to get. The Palace is no exception. They have an almost overwhelmingly large selection of foods. Everything that I have tried at this particular diner - ranging from pasta dishes to wraps to breakfast foods - have all been good. Nothing exceptional, but definitely not bad. And they give you very large portions, typically enough for a solid two meals. The prices seem a bit steep, but once you see the amount of food they give you, you kinda forget about the price. They're desserts are great too, though I usually can't find fault with desserts. I only give the Palace three stars because it's a diner and is nothing that hasn't been done before, but I've never had a bad experience here and would recommend it if looking for a bite to eat in the area of Marist College. read more

When you advertise "beef medallions" as a special, do NOT serve me goddamned hunks of flat, chewy flank steak. Just say that it's flank steak, guys. $23 of sheer disappointment. And who the hell thought that pineapple went with mashed potatoes? Flavorless swordfish with mashed potatoes mixed sloppily with pineapple was just a terrible idea. Another $23 blown. The waiter that we had was great but the food was COLD and gross everything was microwaved even the pancakes and coffee . My family had to return almost everything we ordered . The grits had no seasoning neither did the eggs . The regular 3 stack was dry and hard at the bottom and the home fries were bland and had NO flavour . The lemonade was STRONGLY sweet . Palace Diner is a very popular location for alot of Marist Students. While it is very large, it always seems to be packed, so prepare to find a parking spot that is very far away. The food is pretty mediocre, nothing that would make me crave Palace Diner. My favorite breakfast food option is the Sweet Potato Pancakes. Cesar salad is supposed to be made with romaine lettuce not cheap iceberg lettuce.....especially at their prices..on top of that when you order from their website..and pick a dressing its required that you chose an optional dressing fo .85 cents more or you cant order a salad...I love the food but dont cop out and use cheap stuff for a good salad..if I could upload a picture I would read more

This diner used to have good food, but it's gone downhill. If nothing else, I expect good Greek food at a diner. Instead I got spanakopita triangles, the kind sold in the frozen food section of the supermarket. Moussaka meat had gristle in it. Gristle in hamburger! This place used to be one of my favorite spots to go for a bite. The food itself is still pretty good. But I can't order salad from there anymore. It's like the lettuce is put in a food processor, I need to eat it with a spoon! Also recently I ordered a drink from their drink menu. I've had it before - essentially Kahlúa and hot coffee with some other stuff thrown in - shortly after I ordered it I hear the "bar tender" throw a fit and demanding to know who ordered it.
