Stopped here to kill time before going to the Headless Horseman haunted event. Waitress was terrible. Had to ask for things numerous times. She didn't even bring extra napkins after asking twice. I used the same napkin through my whole meal. I slurped my water loud to hint my cup was empty & she didn't even come to my table. She could care less. She was very unfriendly! I came here w/ my cousin. She ordered a chicken panini & I ordered the sampler as a meal. It came w/ cheddar bacon potato skins,chicken wings/fingers,& zucchini/mozzarella sticks. It was supposed to come w/ fried pickles but it wasn't on my plate. My cousin's panini came w/ French fries,pickles,& coke slaw. She hates cole slaw so she gave it to me. The cole slaw was the best thing I ate. Chicken wings & potato skins were so dry. I think they were old. The mozzarella sticks weren't cooked enough. Overall, my food was disgusting & gave me a stomach ache afterwards. My cousin's panini was overly dry. I will never come back here. Classic diner with overworked staff. Waited a while for someone to acknowledge us once we sat down. Then when we got our food we didn't get silverware for a couple of minutes so my omelette was kinda lukewarm. No refills on drinks. Final word: the yummy looking stuffed French toast was stuffed with cream cheese with bits of strawberry in it. Not sweetened--just cream cheese. Ick. read more

The light over the table was full of dust and would fall on the table. The mini jukebox and window sills were very dirty. The mens room looked like it hadn't been cleaned in some time. So is yours all over the floor by the urinals and the tops of the urinals were disgustingly dirty. Makes you wonder what the kitchen looks like. This was my first time going there and I will never go there again. The food wasn't even at great for for the prices that were charged. Next time you eat there check out the light over the table there are filthy inside Don't touch the light because the dust will fall down onto your food. read more

Love diners and this one had the quintessential diner interior (complete with tabletop jukeboxes). Stopped in for breakfast while visiting in the area last weekend. Very welcoming staff. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. They offered terrfic breakfast specials at an extremely good price. We both enjoyed our omeletes. Had our coffee refilled/warmed up a few times. I'm on a road trip at the moment and I had to stop somewhere with my brother to eat something as we still had 7 hours to go. We were sat down fast and the service was great. Our waitress was quick and polite. The food was fine enough for diner food. The only complaint I had was that the bacon was something like 5 or so dollars to add on to my eggs. Stopped by this hidden jewel while making my way back home from spending the day at Woodbury Premium Outlet. This place is amazing, pulling up into the parking lot; you would think you are taking a step back into time. Going through the doors, you will find a beautiful well-kept piece of classic American dining. You are greeted by friendly smiling faces, a huge glass case of delicious cakes and pies that make you want to skip the main meal, and just dive into a big slice of YUMMY. I chose to sit at the counter top and ordered a burger, basket of fries and a coke, to which I was not disappointed. The food came quick, the burger was super-hot and juicy, and the fries were nice and crispy. It was so hot and delicious; I ended up burning the roof of my mouth and I didn't mind one but. My server was super friendly, and kept coming and checking on me, always keeping my coke full. After wolfing down the plate of Heavenly awesomeness, I was so full, but that glass case of desserts that greeted me when I came in, kept calling my name. I ordered the Strawberry Cheese cake and it was so good. It was soft, not overly sweet, and was generously loaded with strawberries. If there was anything that I could add, it would be the cleanliness of the bathroom. It might have been bad timing as I was coming at the tail end of the day and it hadn't be taken care of, but the bathroom could use a little cleaning up. There was no soap to wash my hands. It's places like this, that makes road trips so fun. All I can say to the great staff at the Getaway Dinner is, Thank you, for all that you do. read more

The basic hamburger was thin and tasted like it was prepackaged and microwaved; it did not have the taste or texture of something that was prepared in the restaurant. Almost like it had some kind of sausage patty spice in it? I may be wrong but that was the impression that I got. The bun was whatever; it did not seem prepared to handle a burger. The entire experience was flavorless and unsatisfying. My partner's food was just as weird, with an odd, dried vegetable stalk in something that should have had no vegetables in it. This place is a diamond in the rough. We came upon it accidentally heading home from the Catskills. We were a little bit desperate and there was a snow storm, but boy am I glad that we found it. My sister ordered grilled cheese and french fries for her son, waffle fries for herself, and I ordered chicken salad over a tossed salad. When I tell you everything was amazing, it was amazing. They did not disappoint with the food and they certainly did not disappoint with the service. The owner and the server were amazing to my nephew! He's two, and has zero patience, yet they entertained him and had so much patience with him. The food was fantastic, we would've ordered more things off the menu if we were hungry. The reason why I'm giving this place 2 stars because despite the poor quality of what I ordered.. The diner was clean, the service was fast, and the environment was nice and friendly. I was excited to order the pizza burger because it sounded delicious at the time. But when It came to the table it was just a burger drowned in a horrible marinara sauce with a half melted piece of cheese on it. The beef patty itself also tasted very bland. It was incredibly messy and I felt like I was eating a unappetizing sloppy Joe. Went for breakfast, waited atleast 45 min for a grilled cheese and some eggs with pancakes. I could have made at home and cleaned up in less then that time. Orange juice tasted bitter and like it was mixed with chemicals from the machine it's made in. Service was poor and food was mediocre at its best. Ordered grits with cheese, they plopped 2 slices of processed fake American cheese and microwaved it and served. Even on a holiday week , the place was barley busy and the wait was still steep for 2 plates of food. Not to mention the poor hygienic practices that were presented right in front of diners. The one waitress cleaned off a tray that had been soiled with the hot water from the tea machine behind the breakfast bar. It's not a dishwasher it's a drink station! Dirty , smelly Bus carts (with food) left sitting in front of tables while people are eating, that is not appetizing or a good look whatsoever. This place has been in business for over 40 years. The inside is a bit run down but it is a huge space. I noticed it was mostly seniors eating there. I got scrambled eats with mushrooms and cheese. It was a safe choice and i was able to enjoy. I didn't not like the flavoring of the plain pancakes but they offered lots of specialty pancakes that may make up for it. The staff was great, friendly, time efficient. I enjoyed that it wasn't packed like other small places in the town and the prices were fair. Was looking for a place to eat breakfast. The service was great and the portions are big. The scrambled eggs were cooked perfectly not over or undercooked. The pancakes we fluffy and really good with the whipped butter. Coffee was average. I had the bacon and it was kinda salty for my taste. But my hubby got the sausage and they were big sausages. The ladies restroom needs a little cleaning. I know they are stains in the toilet bowl but still needs to be addressed. I still rated it 4 stars for the quality of food, price and service. read more
