A few days ago on Christmas Eve, we stopped in here. We had been here before, but never got past the door, the line was so long. We expected there to be a holiday crowd on Christmas Eve, so we reserved a seat for us party of five. It was scheduled for 5:30pm and we had arrived at about 5:40pm. Although I wasn't there at my original time because I had to stop at a location nearby of another business (Dollar Tree around the corner), when I arrived my party was already seated and had received the few initial glasses of water.
Things went rather splendidly, though I wasn't super thrilled when they later came back to us (when it was time for sodas to be refilled) and says they'll have to collect the cups because they didn't have any more cups in the back to fill for the refill. I didn't mind. That's not where one of the issues lays, just yet.
My issues were faced in the server's response to changes to the item we ordered from the menu to suit dietary restrictions. Although I ordered their Grilled Chicken Asparagus (Sandwich) and changed the item to remove the Asparagus (and the server was trying to process the changes) and Chipotle Mayonnaise as well as put to the side another piece from the item, I was hoping I'd receive a slice of lettuce instead - I must have forgotten to mention. She did as requested, but it took several rounds to get her to understand my needs.
The food came out correctly, but I wasn't super thrilled. It just wasn't me. Even after eating half of it, the food we ordered was too much. I was expecting the dish to be a little less than what I found it to be: it seemed to be this "Texas-size portions" which I wasn't fully expecting.
We had some trouble locating ketchup (for my fries) and ended up asking for a bottle of it to be brought. It took a few minutes, and the bottle came out. It was brand new.
After attempting to finish, I ended up having to use the men's room. When I got to the men's room, it was like a sauna in there. I had to go but the temperature was unbearably hot.
When I got back to the table, my mother had called over our server. Earlier that evening, we had noticed she was hobbling around with a sore ankle/foot and was talking to the server. I mentioned the temperature of the restrooms, but all the server did was say "I side with you. I've been in the restrooms lately myself." I'm not one to know what people are doing when they are there, but I would rather have said "We'll look into it and turn it down accordingly." I don't know if this problem was ever fixed - hoping it was.
I couldn't finish the whole meal and brought it home later. However, it was Christmas Eve and decided to add a piece of one of their cakes in. I knew I'd be stuffed and would have a problem later.
Again, first it was the two chocolate cakes (one had a cheesecake layer in it) were switched when she brought them that we only discovered after my brother said "mine was supposed to have a cheesecake filling and I had taken a forkful of it in already.
I'm not one to want to know just how much was spent. We did end up paying for the bill, but I was expecting the bill to be lower than it really was. We don't generally go to a restaurant and eat over $120+ worth of food, desert and drink alone, I knew it was a holiday, but these prices are expensive there.
I had to wait considerably longer, and even at one point, we watched as a table came in, sat down, ate their meal and walked out, even before we had received our meals - priorities should be first-come first-serve and they didn't uphold that rule. read more
