    Guaca-Poke

Food quality is similar to the fast casual seafood restaurants where you order at the counter and they call your number. You will be paying quite a bit more for the nice restaurant atmosphere. 4/5 grilled kanpachi. The grilled fish was the only thing good for this meal. Even their aioli for the grilled zucchini tasted like plain mayo. 2/5 guaca-poke was fishy. I ate around the fish and just scooped the guacamole 3/5 mixed fried seafood platter. At $28 this dish should come with fresh French fries. The ones that came out have been under a heat lamp long enough to make them chewy.

The food was absolutely fantastic! The bar and ambiance create a great theme. Our waiter, I believe his name was Alexis or Alex, was on point and gave us excellent recommendations. I heard this place opened up and was delighted to try it. 2 weeks later and I am still thinking about it. Appetizers: - salmon chowder: delicious! It wasn't too "fishy" and the flavors worked well together - guaca-poke: I am a fiend for avocado and this hit the spot! We almost got a second order of this. - Korean-style pork ribs: I am not a huge ribs fan but I still had 2 ribs. Great taste and glaze. - warm lobster roll: great and served with a side of butter Mains: - Miso Black Cod: I honestly like this one better than Nobu's. Nobu's has a thicker glaze and is fantastic but this one is softer and works SO well with the furikake rice. The green beans are nicely cooked too, they did not arrive soggy at all. This was a favorite! - Rainbow Chirashi Bowl: This was my boyfriend's meal and I enjoyed it. It's a nice piece of avocado and the fish is fresh. Dessert: - Brownie Sundae: it wasn't big! It tasted great too. All this to say that we WILL be back! Such a great find in Brea and I'm glad that I'm not too far away

We have visited this great seafood restaurant in Tustin a while ago. So glad this Brea location is much closer to us. Place is very spacious and the patio area is lovely on a nice sunny day. The menus were big and a decent gluten free menu too. We decided on crab cakes and sea salt edamame for appetizers. Three tacos and warm lobster roll as entrees. Kimchi fried rice with egg as side and pineapple cake with banana gelato as desserts. Hubby had a couple Casamigos silver margaritas and they were great pours. I had a blood orange juice beverage which was refreshing but a bit sweet. Our server was very friendly and attentive. This is a great seafood restaurant that we will visit or DoorDash again soon!

3.5 stars Pacific Catch is a Californian coastal restaurant with multiple locations throughout the state. This location just opened up in the Brea Mall. It's a seafood restaurant but it pulls inspiration from a variety of places such as Hawaii, Mexico, and other Asian countries. They also have a variety of Hawaiian inspired cocktails, so much so that if you wear an aloha shirt on Fridays you get a mai tai for $6. There was patio, indoor, and bar seating. It's an open air restaurant but I found that the further in the restaurant you went the darker it was; there were no windows or natural lighting inside. I came during their aloha hour which was 3-6pm on weekdays and 3-5pm on weekends at the patio and bar. The spicy tuna rolls ($5) were just okay; they were more spicy from the jalapeño than the tuna itself which I don't think had any spice at all. The ceviche mixto ($10) was surprisingly liquidy and not what I expected. It was tart but I would've preferred less liquid. The glazed ribs ($10) had good flavor but some parts of the ribs were more tender than others. Some were a bit more dry and tough. For drinks the mai tai ($9) was good but on the slightly sweeter side. On the other hand, the hurricane ($15) was more spirit forward and tart, and I tasted more of the lime. I appreciated the weekend happy hour and the prices were pretty good for what I got. The food was decent and the drinks were good.

Great all-around experience here. Service: Alexis was friendly and took the time to explain everything to us. Food came out very quickly and was hot. Atmosphere: It was busy inside, but it was overly loud, like some places. We were here with my parents, who are older and don't like loud places anymore. It was nice to hear my parents from across the table. Food: Food was great, but nothing super special. We'd come back since we had a good overall experience. For vegetarians, there are options on the menu, but not a ton. They can substitute Tofu in some of the dishes. It seemed like they were accommodating and could modify existing dishes to suit your needs. There are also many side dishes to choose from. I had the Citrus Pepita Salad and Kimchi Fried Rice. Both were very good. Overall, it's a good addition to Brea Mall, and I'm sure it will get much busier when more people find out about it.

Vegetarians!! Yes you can eat here!! Seafood restaurants rarely have entree options for vegetarians and most of the time you're ordering just sides or a salad. But this restaurant has tofu!! A big plus in my book! The staff was really nice and also mentioned to us that they had tofu, which was great to hear! I got the Grilled teriyaki bowl with tofu and it was delicious, flavorful, healthy and I loved it! I was very impressed with the quality of food and also loved the indoor decor. Beautiful! I've also heard that the Lobster Roll is a favorite here as well. I will be back and will happily order the tofu here all the time!! Thank you Pacific Catch for thinking of vegetarians and allowing us to enjoy your delicious food and wonderful restaurant.

My family and I really enjoyed the food here, it was super fresh and tasted delicious! We went during happy hour and sat on the patio but it wasn't too hot at all and they can also put the shade down to block the sun. Our favorites were: spicy tuna roll, guaca-poke, Serrano poke, crispy brussel sprouts and the summer sea bass dish. The service was amazing, our server was very friendly and attentive. Tuesday's are also 50% wine bottles during happy hour which is a great deal. Would love to come back again. Nice atmosphere and good food. Parking can be found in the parking structures for the mall.

I've been hearing great things about Pacific Catch so my foodie friend and I came to check them out for ourselves. Pacific Catch is one of the new restaurants that are now open in the re-invented Nordstrom/(former) Sears parking lot. Since there's currently still a lot of construction going on in this area, up close parking is limited, but there is a parking structure nearby. The restaurant is very spacious and beautifully decorated and laid out. Much of the menu is sea food and Asian fusion inspired, which is reflected in the decor, setting a great island vibe as soon as you walk through the door. All the staff that we interacted with was very friendly and welcoming. Our server, Lauren, was great ~ she was knowledgeable about the menu and checked on us regularly to see if we needed anything. My friend has been on a quest to find a delicious lobster roll, so that's what she chose right away. I'd seen another Yelper's photos and review for the salmon chowder, so I also already knew what I was ordering. Both dishes were AMAZING!! The lobster roll was warm and proportionately filled in a row of Hawaiian rolls and came with clarified butter. My friend thoroughly enjoyed it! She was very kind to share some with me and I concur, it was delicious! My bowl of salmon chowder was also delicious! The chowder base was creamy yet not too heavy and the salmon is grilled separately and then added to the base. SO GOOD!! Something I'd definitely recommend and order again. Thank you to Alma R for her tip about this! We were gonna skip dessert, but when Lauren presented the dessert menu to us, we couldn't resist, so we added the Crispy Dulce de Leche "Spring Roll". Perfect to share, the fried "spring roll" has a cheesecake filling and is served with a scoop of banana dulce de leche gelato, all of which is drizzled with caramel sauce. All the textures and flavors worked together wonderfully and resulted in a very delightful way to finish our lunch. We're looking forward to coming back to try more of their menu offerings.

New spot at Brea Mall. Located on the outskirts of the mall near North Italia. Decor is nice with a relaxing vacay kind of ambience. Host and server were super cheery and helpful. Lots to choose from on the menu. Will defs come back and try a few more dishes. - Lobster Roll: very tasty 5/5 - Summer Sea Bass: was a bit heavy on the Mac crust but was good. The avo salad and Japanese yams were yum! Seabass wasn't as flaky as I had hoped. 4/5 - Korean Skirt Steak: marinated was on the sweeter side for me. The fried rice didn't do it for me, strong ketchup taste to it. The Brussels sprouts were amazing. (35) Also asked for the chimmichuri sauce on the side and it was bomb. Will defs order the skirt steak next time.

Absolutely loved my experience at Pacific Catch!! Glad they are close by in Brea for me to go to again and again. Beautiful coastal vibes with open airspace, nice outdoor seating, fresh seafood, and friendly service. Makes you feel like you're sitting in some tropical island restaurant. The ceviche was absolutely delicious! Would have over and over. Ahi poke was spicy enough. For the main entrée, we had the the Panko crusted seabass with purple potato mash and mango salad, tasty and light. Brussels sprouts was perfectly crispy and sweet potato fries are always a good choice. For the cocktails, I had the shark fin cocktail. Must try! My friends had the mai tai, strong but good.

My friend & I met up for lunch here today. It was both of our first time here & we left the place satisfied with our meal. I had the Citrus pepita salad with shrimp & the greens in that salad were fresh along with everything else included in it blended well together. The seasoning on the shrimp was delicious & I like that they give you ample amount of shrimp which I appreciated bc it's pretty pricey here. I honestly didn't try the dressing on the side bc the dish itself had good flavor. I would definitely order this again whenever I'm in there mood for a salad. My friend tried the Ahi poke bowl & she enjoyed it. The ambiance was nice & modern. We sat outside in the patio. Our server was friendly & attentive. Their menu had many great options to choose from. I look forward to coming back to try more items on their menu. Btw, this isn't an AD but if you download inkind App, you get 20% cash back. With everything expensive these days, who doesn't want cash back when available!

I'm so happy to see that they're finally opened in Brea! They've only been there about a month but I can tell it's going to be super super popular! We started with a cup of their Salmon Chowder... OMG, what a delicious treat!! Why hasn't anyone else done this before?! I can tell this is going to be my staple when dining there. We also started with their famous Guaca-Poke and it's as delicious as it sounds! We went during happy hour so the starters were a couple of bucks cheaper so that was cool. I also had an Agave Margarita and it was really good. For our entrees my hubby got the Shrimp Al Pastor and he was in heaven! It came with the most scrumptious Mexican style zucchini and cilantro lime brown rice. I had their Rainbow Chirashi and it was big enough to share. Everything was so fresh and delicious. I loved that it came with a scoop of REAL crab salad. Everything about it was to die for! The ambiance was super cute! We sat on the patio and it has a cool fireplace setting where you can sit around it and a cool couch nearby. Get this, all the patio tables came with their own individual heat lamps made by Focal Heating that you can control with your phone! Our server was Sean and he kept checking in on us making sure we lacked nothing. All in all, 5 Yelp Stars to my new favorite restaurant!

$15 BLOOD ORANGE MARGARITA: delicious cocktails! Great presentation & unique flavors.

The FOOD: 4.5/5 | Drinks: 5/5 Off the appetizers, we had the pork belly bites and dirty fries! First dish came with a long hot pepper, several mini tortillas, and 2 dipping sauces. The pork was crunchy on the outside and soft+succulent on the inside. I can see myself doubling up on this appetizer the next time I come. Dirty fries were great; it came with a generous amount of pickled onions - providing a really nice contrast to the savoriness of our meal. We ordered it since it stated Santa Barbara Uni (imo the Santa Barbara and San Diego Uni are the best in the states). However, as you can see the the picture, the uni was sitting/soaking in the oyster juice that took out the sweetness of the uni and instead filled it with the salty seawater flavor. I hope they tried it themselves and find a way to solve this. Otherwise will not order this appetizer, it is $20 for 2 uni oysters, which is totally not worth it.

The tzaziki sauce with my plate was SO smooth, creamy, and not overbearing, so it made a nice little dip for the fish. (AND the cucumbers in the salad. AND the tomatoes in the salad!) My veggies were grilled and tasted VERY good. My friend ordered an app of French fries, and they were EXCELLENT! Tasty, crispy, not chewy at ALL. Bite into one, "CRUNCH!" and you have what they feel like. Dip 'em in ketchup, or tzaziki, or GARLIC SAUCE, or not at all! I ate a lot of them. I also tried my friend's garlic sauce. I am SO going to have to order some of that to go because it can go with ANYTHING! Pita brea, fish, French fries, wraps (yum!), chicken, shrimp, lobster, beef, lamb, it's too creamy and yummy! Not too garlic-y either! I took her little container home and I'm ashamed to say I got the last little bit of it with my fingers. It'd make a REALLY nice dip for raw veggies as well. I WILL be back with some friends and a family member or two.

I ordered the fish and chips (to go order) -- 3 pieces served with seasoned fries and coleslaw. The fish was good, but the fries had great seasoning was my favorite. We didn't get tartar sauce which is what I like but instead got malted vinegar. Solid portion size and a good spot if you're craving fish and chips. There is also outdoor dining which is nice on a great day!!! My only complaint....fries should be in a bag not in the box. It got soggy when I got home!! Booo. Otherwise, over all yummy so come here to support local entrepreneur!!!

If you're ever shopping at Brea mall and end up hungry after shopping, I definitely recommend this…read moreplace! I love malatang and I've been on the search to find a new malatang places since the place I used to go to near me unfortunately closed down. I'm glad I tried this place because I come to brea mall so often so I'm glad I found a restaurant I can now go to if I'm ever at the mall. This is build your own bowl concept. You can either get soup base or stirfry. This place definitely has more options than the places I've visited from. They also have your own sauce station. For the broth, I chose "just a kick" which was perfect for me. It was a good spice and wasn't overly spicy. Absolutely delicious. I couldn't finish my bowl so I did get pack the rest for home and had it for lunch the next day and it was still delicious. There's a good amount of seating inside and few tables outside. It's honestly a nice place. They even have complimentary ice cream for their guests!

Tang Bar - Brea I'd…read moregive this place 3 stars. The concept is interesting. It's a mix of cafeteria-style dining and hot pot, which is still fairly unique in America. You grab your own ingredients, build a bowl, and hand it over for cooking. The challenge is the pricing. Since you're selecting ingredients before they're weighed and charged, it's hard to know what you're spending until the end. The cost adds up quickly, and the final bill can be surprising. As for the food, it's alright. The broth does most of the heavy lifting. The ingredients themselves are fresh enough, but the flavor largely comes from the soup base they add at the end. The experience is simple and efficient--almost like an assembly line. Everything is self-service, and there isn't much interaction beyond the ordering process. I appreciate the concept and understand why it's popular. The customization is fun, and the hot bowl is satisfying on a cold day. But when I compare it to the price, I see it as only a small step above food court dining. Not bad. Not amazing. Just okay.

We decided to give it a shot because the menus and pics I was seeing on Yelp looked good. I feel deceived y'all!!! This spot was hyped up as another "Tempo" and I was hoping for a less loud, club-like vibe with good food and drinks. Apparently, they changed owners AGAIN just a few months ago. All of the legit Mexican items- gone! I was really bummed because Orange County really doesn't need yet another mediocre attempt at a vibey sushi spot that serves WARM FISH. * The bartender was great! I honestly felt horrible for the staff. They open at 3:00, and I came in at 4:00 to a literal graveyard. I really hope the guys who waited on us get out fast before this place goes down. I know their tips are probably not even $20/a day. * The sushi items were all warm. I got nauseous within the hour after consuming them. * By 5:00 only one other table had arrived and they were also shocked at the massive disappointment so they spent their time waiting for cocktails, on their phones trying to make arrangements to go to another restaurant. So within two hours, they had two tables. * Yelp is deceiving- their reviews are mostly for the old place. Their menu is a disaster right now. There's limited sushi, brisket sandwich, wings, and other weird hodgepodge selections of oddities. The interior is almost exactly the same as Taps. They kept all of the furniture and decor. Maybe this should be a tear down and star over. It's really sad because we could use an old school Mexican restaurant with mariachi's and Sunday champagne buffet brunch. Just look at how El Torito Grill in Brea kills it on Sundays. Taps used to kill it on Sundays too. Where are the smart investors?! Come save this spot!
