I would give zero stars if I could. This outfit is one big scam. They showed us fake photos of our system (it's in the attic so I didn't go up with him), told us it was dangerous and the whole thing needed to be replaced. None of that was true. Do NOT use these charlatans. P.S. the owner responded to this review saying that the technician was maybe the most honest, sincere, professional, personable and genuine man he's ever met and that my accusation against him was absurd. I absolutely do not place any blame on the technician! He was great. He was just doing what pacific aire had trained him to do. Which was fear mongering. I asked the technician if I could put my husband on speaker phone while he explained the issues. He said that i could, but wanted to explain it to just me first. He told me how dangerous our AC units were (carbon monoxide leaks, high pressure, etc) but when I put him on speaker phone with my husband he was much more vague. Just needed to get his supervisor here STAT. Also urged me to sign up for the elite membership but wouldn't tell me how to cancel. Got 2 more estimates and it turns out this was all complete bullshit. Yes, our units are old, but they are in no way dangerous or ineffective. Also, the Pac Aire tech showed us stock photos that weren't pics of our units while claiming they were pics of our units. Do. Not. Use. This. Company read more

We've been searching for a provider to update the insulation in our attic for over a year. We got our first bid from Pacific Aire and then decided to shop around. After multiple providers gave buds without seeing our attic, requested full payment up front (illegal in California), or just didn't even bother to return our phone calls, we went back to Pacific Aire. Within a week of asking we had Barnaby at our house, he took a ton of pictures, explained every step of the process to us, found every discount they offer which applies to our situation, and scheduled the work for just two days later. Project Lead, Vincent and his team started first thing Monday morning and kept us apprised of the progress each day. The house was spotless each day and unless you had gone into the attic to check on the work you wouldn't have known they were there. Dave, the electrician, stepped in to make sure things were safe up there. Thankfully they found and capped a live wire which could have created a house fire. Thursday they finished the job and our attic looks great! We went from about two inches of original insulation to 14 inches. Everything was cleaned and sealed and they installed a barrier on the roof interior and a zipper cover where our ladder entrance is. In October I had a representative give me a quote for a 2 unit HVAC installation with removal of the old gas furnace. I felt a bit pressured to accept the quote but went with it anyway. They said they were going to take care of all the permits. I didn't realize they didn't mean getting the HOA approval too. Day of installation, when they start cutting a hole in the outside wall, I ask "Did you get the HOA go ahead?". They said "no". I said "Well, it's too late now. " A lavender bush had to be dug up to make room for the outside unit. It didn't survive. The drain for the condensate that was installed on the bathroom sink drain plumbing was done incorrectly. It required a part that took over 2 weeks to come in. Meanwhile, I'm living with all the stuff that normally is in the cabinet out on the bathroom floor, in the way. Finally, the part comes in and I schedule an appointment to finish the drain and now the tech us running late! Why do they say "between 10-12" and then come after 12? Customer relations with this company are very poor! I'm not happy with this whole situation. read more

We have a maintenance contract with Pacific Aire and generally we have been happy with their service. But the last couple times their techs have come to inspect the furnace (we don't have a/c) they have mentioned what they characterized as concerning rust in the fire box area. We live at the beach, in SoCal, and only use the furnace on super cold days and in the morning (on a program) to take the chill off so yeah, we have some moisture in the air always, and everything gets a bit rusty, but the rust I was shown is pretty normal looking. As a Metalsmith myself, and no stranger to the mechanics of rust, I tend to disregard their insinuation that I need a new furnace soon. Since we used the fan last summer for air circulation, I had them replace the air filter last fall, because it was time - usually every other year unless it's really dirty. The most recent visit, the tech didn't mention anything about rust, but did mention the air pressure seemed a bit low. No real info or speculation, just the mention. Mkay, noted. Then he informed me that he had replaced the air filter because it was "dirty" (it had a little bit of dust on it, it was only used for morning house warming for 6 months). Usually the tech asks before changing the filter, because it's a $50 charge. This time not a mention until it was done. So I didn't argue, I just paid the $50. So although we have found good value in the maintenance package heretofore, and we have always had polite, professional service, I will be reconsidering whether we keep paying for this expense. I prefer working with local companies like Pacific Aire, but I don't like being up-sold, or sales pressure for unnecessary goods & services. I had Chris's team install two Daikin FiT inverter Heat Pumps. The installation crew were very professional. They took care of our home like it was their home by protecting the flooring and using plastic to isolate areas where they were working in order to keep things clean. Pacific Aire called and reminded me that it was time for my HV/AC tune up They had a killer deal going on for $33 for each one or $59 for bundling both. Who can pass up a deal like that? I also asked them to check my water heater. And I got a reduced price of $59 on that as well. Fortunately, my technician, Brett Walker, did not find any major problems. I received a text with Brett's employee picture on it, notifying me that he was coming and at what time he would show up. He was knowledgeable and very efficient and put everything back in its proper place. When he was done, my deal even included a no cost heating unit filter which I appreciated. I'm a person who likes to know what kind of work is being done on my equipment, So I asked Brett the usual "20 questions". He had answers for everything, and he even showed me the cable camera, that was used to inspect the internal components of my heating unit, and advising that I did not have any cracks in my unit, which, if so, could be a culprit for causing carbon monoxide danger. I was so pleased with the GREAT customer service I received that I decided to sign up for the Pacific Aire Club program. Grant Prindle, Pac Aire's repairman, deserves 5 stars, a raise and a promotion. Grant was sent out to our house to diagnose why our 2 year old furnace (not purchased from Pac Aire) was not igniting. We were fortunate to be enrolled in Pac Air's Elite Membership Club where they offer discounts and guarantee their work. I highly recommend that program. Grant proved to be knowledgeable, thorough and most of all very patient. It was not an easy fix, as there were three separate unrelated failures he discovered. We were so fortunate to have Pac Aire as our HVAC company, and a pleasure having Grant in our home. Had an issue with the furnace, Tyler C. was the tech that diagnosed and fixed the furnace. He did recommend new attic insulation, which I knew I needed already. Home is 50 years old and it was time for an upgrade. Agustin G. and Jose H were the techs sent to remove the old insulation and blow in new. Do Not Use Them!! I Called them for thermostat repair. Ruvan was very nice, but he led me to believe that my motherboard was toast (my system is 20 years old) and that it was not able to be replaced and also. pulled out fuses that were blown. That same day in the evening Bob came by to give me the financial details of how to replace the whole system. Disturbed with the $17,000 bill I called a different company. The next day a fuse was replaced and a wire was repaired and for $90. My heater and AC was running. These people are here to take your money any way they can. Stay away!! read more

Pacific Aire just completed the installation of two Daikin HVAC systems in our home (5 ton and 3 ton), and also replaced all ducting. Our old HVAC systems had reached the end of their useful life, and the ducting in our home was from 1998 and was the old style black plastic covered ducting with limited insulation - actually had rips in it and one of the ducts was not even connected to a register! They also installed two air scrubbers to overall clean up the air moving through the systems. I had multiple bids, and Pacific was very competitive. Everything about interacting with Pacific Aire was highly professional down to every person who came to our home for estimating or installation. The install was totally completed in 3.5 days and it required quite a crew: I give each of these guys a rave review and my gratitude for their work ethic and communication skills: Vincent, Jon, Robert R, Augustine, Jonnie, Cruz, Iven, Cody -all get my highest recommendation. Following an error by a Pacific Aire service Technician during a Tune Up on one of my 2 year old AC units I was without AC for 4 days . A technician tried to repair it and feared the fan motor had gone bad ( it would have been a big coincidence following a tune up ) . They sent Jesse who came and diagnosed the issue and after working very diligently and patiently found it was simply a wire had been connected incorrectly. He is now my go to AC Technician and will be maintaining my units in the future. We have been clients of Pacific Aire for ~15 years and twice a year their office will contact us for our HVAC checkup/inspection and servicing. We chose to participate in their service plan years ago so we pay a monthly membership to have our furnace unit and air conditioning unit serviced as needed so their routine service calls are our norm. When we purchased our home, it did not have A/C and the furnace was far too large for a single-family home so we purchased a full system with new duct work and venting systems from Mark Schneider and his company, Pacific Aire 15 years ago. Through all of those years, other than a computer board we had problems with years ago which they were able to replace, we've had little or no problems with the furnace unit or cooling unit at our home. Customer service is paramount to me and as such I prefer working with the same person from the same company anytime I have interaction since we get to know one another and that person gets to understand how I expect things done and I learn the way that person prefers to work to get the job done efficiently and thoroughly. Several years ago, I had the good fortunate to work with Matt Cadruvi for the first time as that is who Pacific Aire sent to me for my bi-annual servicing and since that time I always request that he be the technician that comes out twice a year. Pacific Aire always affords me the opportunity to get someone "sooner" (since Matt seems to be booked up a lot - he's that good!!) as a convenience to my schedule and nothing against the other techs but I prefer to have Matt come out each time so I don't mind waiting. Matt is extremely conscientious, professional, very thorough and knowledgeable about any issue that arises and proposes a perfect and prudent solution. He reflects the Pacific Aire values and honesty that I remember respecting so much from Mark when he and I first met years ago. Matt is very respectful and his honesty is second to none. If he needs to replace a filter, he always shows me the dirty filter instead of assuming I'll "be ok with changing it" - perfect example, the service yesterday was non-eventful and Matt tells me "Hey Scott your filter looks great, no need to replace it just yet, maybe next time depending on your usage"...that is honesty and integrity! I am very much a people-person and as such I tend to be a talker and like to get to know people so over the past several years, I've gotten to know Matt a little bit so each time he arrives we have a few minutes of small talk and catch up with one another. If you are fortunate enough to have him cover your service call, you will not be disappointed - he's a heck of a stand-up guy! We engaged the services of Pacific Aire to remove our old attic insulation and replace it with new insulation and also to install an additional return air vent in our living room in order to improve the air flow of our HVAC system. The crew that did the work for us was friendly, very professional and punctual. All the work was completed in less than the anticipated time. In performing their work they all took great care to safe guard our property, control the impact of any dirt and dust and to do a very thorough job of cleaning up once the work was completed. Peyton did a great job with the air return vent. He discussed the location options for the vent and also provided us with his recommendation. The vent he installed looks as if it has always been there, so we are very happy with the quality of the work. After the vent was fully installed he also took the time to demonstrate the air flow coming from the new vent. Vincent and Augustine who performed the insulation work were awesome. They kept us well informed on the progress of the work, taking care to explain what work would be done on the first day and what work would be accomplished on the second day, along with the expected work times. They were both very personable and we appreciated how respectful they were for our property. The work was accomplished within the estimated times.
