I had a 2 1/8 year old Coleman furnace literally 2 months out of warranty installed in a manufactured home. It was not blowing hot air. It seemed to work but no heat. I asked them to look at it for their $127.50 diagnostic fee. After he went. He left me 5 increasingly distasteful messages including not knowing what was wrong but wanted an additional $800 to replace something that ended up not needing to be replaced. He also wants payment right away. I paid him after work on the second day, he wouldn't allow me time to look at the furnace for myself, in order to make a determination on how to proceed. So I declined any additional work. Since it wasn't fixed and he wasn't at all helpful, I ended up finding the fix this myself by finding and cleaning out a clogged gas feed tube with compressed air. It was good as new. This dude is pushy, rude, and seems to want to guess and check parts at my expense. No thanks. There's better options out there I'm sure. ***In response to the business owner's. We found the obstruction on my next available day off of work. It would have been nice if you could have fixed and/or mentioned that to me. The only mention was of the gas valve at a cost of $800. I said I would find someone else, as this was not my intention to fix this since we had already tried. We got lucky. I would have gladly paid more than your diagnostic fee if you had the ability to fix it. Yelp reviews can be fakes now. Just because I made this a few months ago and didn't report it doesn't mean a single word in my statement is false. Buyer beware. read more

Gold Coast was great! We had them out last year to repair (er, replace) a super old unit that had stopped working in the middle of a heatwave. They were prompt and honest. Unfortunately, the unit was so old it was beyond repair, but they worked with our insurance company and everything went so smooth! They ordered a new unit, and also did duct work for us for a pretty reasonable cost. We also had them do the furnace at the same time. Greg and the team were great. Greg and his team at Gold Coast are very professional in their work and customer service. I had to replace 2-4 ton Carriers on our roof. I had bidded out the project to A/C companies who also have had 5 Star ratings here on Yelp, but Gold Coast came in $1,000 less than the other bids. They have done our other location, and have done a good job with our freezer compressor installation. Greg got the permits to ensure all goes smoothly on the day of installation as we had a crane that would be removing and placing the old/ new units. Prior to the installation day, Greg maintained communication ensuring that the process is explained and that any questions are answered. The team arrived as scheduled, Eric, Neil and Chad started to dismantle the old units and when the new ones arrived, guided the crane to place them in the right location on the roof. They set up the old ones for removal. The Crane operator Mike was also very experiences and careful with the structure and trees around the job. Once the new units were on the roof, the crew started installation and customizing the ducting to match the new units. Gold Coast did a very good job and it was executed professionally. These guys are great! Very patient and willing to work with a difficult customer such as myself. They replaced my old system in early 2018, ducting as well. Job turned out great, only took them 1 day and I was very happy with the results and the cost. Believe it or not, I had 14 estimates when I was shopping the job. Glad I went with them. Just recently with this heat wave, I had an issue with the evap coil freezing over and cool air wasn't getting into the house. Called them up with my issue, they sent someone out the next day. Turns out, there was a small leak in the copper line outside the house which drained the coolant from the system. They closed the leak and refilled the system and now its running smooth again, no charge. Can't say enough about Gold Coast, 5 STARS! Great service, great pricing and great results. read more

He answered right away and upon hearing our predicament of central heating not blowing warm air and we just came home with a newborn, he said his guys would be out to our house in the morning. ORIGINAL REVIEW: So Black Friday morning - broken furnace (gas would not ignite). Reached out via Yelp since the company I typically use was backed up through the weekend. Greg responded quickly and had a technician out by early afternoon. That was great. The technician (Bill) was very efficient and had the problem diagnosed quickly (he didn't even mind me watching). Faulty circuit board. He says the parts shops close at 2 and he's gotta hustle to get the part so runs out to the truck. I get a call from Greg and it's the normal "can we upsell you on a new furnace?" He's not pushy and that's fine when I say no. But it's going to be $850. That's a bit of a shock to me. I've had boards replaced before for under $400. After the call, I go read the part number off the board and look it up on Amazon. Between $159 and $199. I call Greg back and we discuss but ultimately it's "it's a cold Friday and I've got other customers waiting. Take it or leave it" (paraphrased). Well even with Amazon, I'm not getting the part before Monday. What am I going to do? The technician returns with the part and the furnace is running in 20 minutes. As pleased as I am, I do feel ripped off on the price. I paid $850 for a $200 part and just under 2 hours from the minute he arrived until the minute I signed the bill. I'll be going back to my regular provider next time. They're not cheap but I've never felt ripped off. UPDATE: the day after my Yelp review posted, Greg called to follow up. Actually he called twice since I wasn't able to talk the first time. We caught up the next day and he was apologetic about the experience. He explained that they use job-based pricing and although the technician was very fast, the price is fixed. Still, he had already credited me $125 before we even spoke, so I appreciated that. Greg was also apologetic about how I felt during the initial transaction. Although I don't feel an apology entirely erases the experience, I do feel it warrants an update and improvement to the review. read more

The A/C in our new-to-us home had not been turned on since we bought it. A friend recommended Gold Coast Temp Control, I called and Greg was out within a couple hours. He messed with the thermostat, inspected our antique A/C unit and ancient furnace, and got the thing running. He charged only the (cheap!) service call fee! He advised that both units were old and tired but not in need of replacement just yet, wait till they die. He then noticed how inefficient our blower was and (after learning that we are not at all "handy") proceeded to tape up the gaps on the unit on his way out so we could avoid another appointment / service call! Am a Pac Air "elite" costumer here. Our central heating in our house was not working. Pac Air Technician stated we needed A new gas regulator for $599. I called him on Labor Day solely based on his Yelp review -plus the fact that he was one of the only 2 guys I could find willing to come out on short notice to fix our weak AC. He showed up at my door in less than a half hour and quickly diagnosed the problem. He gave me the option of fixing it himself (he'd need to go pick up a part) or if I wanted to save a few bucks I could go to the hardware store and fix it myself. Very cool. He showed me what to do and was on his way. If all that weren't enough, as a courtesy he charged me a "non holiday" minimum rate just because it was such a simple fix.
