After reporting a furnace issue (ignitor continually activating after burner was ignited and blower running) to my home warranty company, they sent a contractor technician. He diagnosed that the blower needed to be replaced. (I am a certified aero engineer, so am familiar with ignition and burner systems) When questioned about the continuously activating ignitor, he indicated that the continuously running ignitor was "normal." When I sowed him online that the continuously activating ignitor was not normal and could be dangerous, he didn't 52 minutes researching Google on his cell phone and did not change his diagnosis or estimate fir cleaning the fan and replacing the blower that was working fir an additional $240 over the warranty's initial service fee. I called highly recommended Air Systems Solutions in Ventura, CA who arranged for a technician visit the next day. He was very courteous and did a very thorough job and replaced the ignition panel. Air System Solutions just replaced my old gas furnace and AC system with a new inverter-style heat pump. Brian, the owner, was very competent, quoted me a top notch system at a reasonable price (plus rebates that made it a steal), and the installers were clean, polite, and thorough. The new heat pump is a dream: so quiet and efficient compared to my old gas furnace and AC! My experience with Air System was 100% positive and impressive. I especially respect that they are leaning into the various rebates available; it's a lot of bureaucracy for them to deal with, but it saves their heat pump customers a ton. Between 3CREN and IRA rebates, I'm paying for less than 50% of the full installed cost of my new system. (YMMV.) Our new construction home design required a specialized small duct, high velocity HVAC system. With no approved local installers, I hired an out-of-town installer recommended by the manufacturer (Unico). The guy got halfway into the install and fled with all the job money. He then lost his license and was unreachable. There was way more drama but I'll leave it at that. I was left with an unfinished HVAC system that prevented me from moving into the house. They came out for a service call to fix air balance issue created by a company that installed the system in my home. Air system was friendly but rep said he needed to consult their foreman. After following up for a week I got a call back from the foreman who said he could come take a look in a couple months. My ac system barely worked. Light airflow, outside system would either shut off after a couple hours or blow a fuse. Brian arrived and replaced some components that usually fail. Then he went above and beyond looking for anything that could disrupt airflow. After some hot summers we finally broke down and got air conditioning at our house in Ventura. We asked for three quotes and received two, one of which was from Air System Solutions. Brian was very astute mapping out the job. He was inventive, willing to accept my input and extremely knowledgeable about building codes and practical restrictions. He got all the info he needed to get the permit and emailed me a bid right away. Greg and the installation team were on time, sharp and scrupulously clean. Everything was thought through and what few surprises popped up were handled in a way that made it obvious these guys have been at it for a long time. I received 4 bids on a full HVAC system replacement. Air System Solution's bid was second to lowest, though the lowest cost bid included substandard equipment. Brian of Air Systems Solutions put together a full bid, with no caveats, and he included costs for upgrades, making it very easy to compare to other 3 bids. The bid included Bryant equipment. They started work soon after I notified them that they were selected, and the installation process went smoothly and professionally. Thank you for the great work fixing my a/c during a heat wave and on a Saturday during the holiday weekend.

I am impressed with the service level we received. I thought about giving Air System Solutions the top rating but decided to wait until we can have them check out our AC unit when it is not working properly when we have our next heat wave. So far they company has been professional, prompt, friendly and thorough, and I will certainly be calling them when we have our next problem. So as the rating indicates, "Yay! I'm a fan." This past July 5th, during the recent heat wave, the temperature reached 104 in Camarillo in the afternoon and our AC unit stoped blowing cool air. We turned the unit off and waited 30 minutes and turned it back on, and it began blowing cold air again. We had to do the same thing the next day as well because of the high temperature. We called Air System Solutions on July 16 as we were out of town from July 9th to the 15th. We called them because they had installed the new furnace and AC system in Dec 2010, and had good reviews. Their service representative, Jesus, came out on July 18th and checked out the electrical and mechanical components of our AC unit and stated the system seemed to be working properly. He also checked out the air filter, and replaced it with a new filter we provided. He thought perhaps that our 3 ton AC unit might be small for our 1587 sq. ft. home, especially given the large volume of vaulted ceiling space. He stated the system was probably working so hard during the heat wave that the system froze up, and that by turning the system off for a half hour allowed it to defrost and start cooling again. Jesus also spoke with his dispatcher who recommended that we call them immediately when we have the next high temperature heat and the unit stops cooling so that it can be checked out when it is not functioning. We purchased this home in May 2017. In July 2017, when we first used the Air Conditioner, it was not cooling. A local Camarillo firm added 8 pounds of refrigerant. Luckily, we had a Home Warranty policy which paid for the refrigerant. During the next heat wave In October 2017, the AC compressor was not starting up. The same local Camarillo firm said the pressure was too high and removed some refrigerant, and recommended that we replace the AC unit. Another firm, provided by our Home Warranty company, replaced the capacitor, the core valve, and added 3 pounds of refrigerant. The AC unit seemed to operate well until we had the 104 degree heat wave. read more

After not firing up the furnace for 18 months (this is SoCal!!) we discovered we had a problem. My Engineer husband looked at it and could not determine what the solution was.
