After reporting a furnace issue (ignitor continually activating after burner was ignited and blower…read morerunning) to my home warranty company, they sent a contractor technician. He diagnosed that the blower needed to be replaced. (I am a certified aero engineer, so am familiar with ignition and burner systems) When questioned about the continuously activating ignitor, he indicated that the continuously running ignitor was "normal." When I sowed him online that the continuously activating ignitor was not normal and could be dangerous, he didn't 52 minutes researching Google on his cell phone and did not change his diagnosis or estimate fir cleaning the fan and replacing the blower that was working fir an additional $240 over the warranty's initial service fee. I called highly recommended Air Systems Solutions in Ventura, CA who arranged for a technician visit the next day. He was very courteous and did a very thorough job and replaced the ignition panel. Aside from the part itself, the service fee was less than half of the original contractor's estimate. Highly recommend work from Air Systems Solutions in Ventura CA.

I don't think you can measure a business when everything is going perfectly. You measure a business by how they handle things when it doesn't go as planned. Everything has been going great, but we recently had a little hiccup when I added a whole home water filtration system. I was a little frustrated and it took a little bit to get the right person on the phone, but I'm really happy to know that they are the same company from 11 years ago. They went above and beyond to take care of the problem. I've heard nightmare stories about other companies in the area that will install something and if there is a problem, you are on your own. I see a 1-star review from someone who was frustrated with lack of customer service. I was frustrated with this too. The AI phone interface can be frustrating, but there are good people working there who are trying to do the right thing. It just might take a little bit of patience to get the right person on the other end of the phone. I do know that they are addressing this problem. Julian is my plumber and Sam is my HVAC guy and when they come to the house it's like having old friends visit. At the end of the day, that's what keeps me coming back to them. The work is solid, the technicians are knowledgeable, and when something does come up they stand behind what they do. Eleven years later, that still says a lot about the kind of company they are. I have no hesitation to call them for some of the bigger upcoming purchases that our household needs, like a new AC unit and a tankless water heater. I am very happy with how they addressed this past issue and will be calling them in the future.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Air Works…read more We originally called because we were having an odor/fumes from our garage being pulled into our home through the downstairs HVAC system. That was the primary reason for the service call and the problem we specifically wanted corrected. Nick came to our home and spent a couple of hours going through the system with us. He quoted approximately $4,500, which was significantly higher than other estimates we had received. We agreed to move forward because he represented that they were going to do substantially more work, including addressing the air leakage from the garage, expanding/sealing the return area so it would not continue pulling garage air into the house, and making changes upstairs to improve airflow so so much air was not being directed into the primary bedroom. Based on those conversations, we were told the downstairs system would be properly sealed and the garage-air problem would be corrected. Unfortunately, when the technicians were finishing their work, it became apparent that the most important part of the job -- stopping air from being pulled in from the garage -- was not included on their work order. I raised the issue while the technicians were still here. They contacted Nick, and we were then told that sealing that area would be done when we eventually replaced the entire HVAC system. Replacing the entire system had never been part of our agreement or the reason we approved this $4,500 job. Had we been told beforehand that the work being proposed would not address the fumes/garage-air issue, we would not have authorized the work. The technicians who came to our home were professional, polite, and clearly trying to do the job they had been given. I actually feel badly for them because they seemed to have walked into a situation where they had not been given all of the information that had been discussed during the sales appointment. The frustrating part is that we spent a significant amount of time explaining exactly what the problem was and what we needed fixed. Yet after spending approximately $4,500, the original problem remains. I still cannot comfortably run my downstairs AC because the same smell is coming into the house. UPDATE: After I posted this review, Nick called us. Unfortunately, instead of trying to resolve the problem, the conversation became argumentative and his description of what had been discussed was very different from what we were told when we agreed to the work. This was especially concerning because the technicians had already contacted him while they were at our home regarding the same issue. Again, the reason we called Air Works was to stop garage air/fumes from entering our downstairs HVAC system. That problem was not fixed. We had previously used Air Force HVAC company for years and decided to try Air Works based on a recommendation. I regret that decision. I would strongly recommend that anyone considering Air Works get every single promised repair and outcome specifically written into the work order before authorizing the job, particularly if the recommendation is coming from the salesperson rather than the technicians who will actually be performing the work.

I had to look for a place that services my Brand of water heater, is reputable, and available! They were able to come out SAME DAY and kept me informed throughout the day of changes in eta. There was a pretty big change in eta but that worked out for me because I was just leaving work to meet their technician. The technician (Roberto Ramirez) was kind and patient and explained what COULD be wrong and what was ACTUALLY wrong. He told me what to look for in the future and possibly how to prevent it from happening again. He told me how to maintain it going forward and some other tips and tricks that might help extend the life of my water heater. Additionally, he contacted the warranty company and worked with them to get the needed part today at zero cost to me which you would think might annoy a company or technician but he didn't seem bothered at all. He was paid in full-- over $30,000--for seven AC units, and not a single one of them works. On top of that, he stole over $8,000 worth of equipment that was paid for and never delivered. He never even connected the units to the power panel, making them completely useless. To make things worse, he left a massive hole in the wall, creating a safety hazard that we now have to pay someone else to fix. This man took the money and ran. Absolutely unprofessional, unethical, and should not be in business. Avoid at all costs unless you want to be ripped off.

He was more than respectful to my elderly mother and followed all COVID safety procedures. Friendly and efficient, the work was done quickly - including running to the store for parts. Honestly, Brendon and his crew are so easy to work with and are so bent on customer satisfaction, we couldn't imagine working with anyone else. Our latest project was initiated by the desire to make our house more fire-resistant. With the guidance of Brendon and landscape architect Brian Brodersen, we tore out many plants next to the house, got rid of all the bark, and put in fire-resistant plants like agaves, succulents, and Lomandra longifolia 'Platinum Beauty,' a beautiful low maintenance grass considered fire-wise. With plant knowledge, your fire-resistant & drought tolerant landscape doesn't have to be all succulents and cactus. We no longer have any grass to mow/fertilize/water, and we happen to find our grassless landscape more interesting to look at. The gravel is not only fire-safe, but gives a much more polished, finished look, and we elected to have weed-cloth installed beneath the gravel. Please check out the photos below. Since the new plants are so tiny, I've included pictures of older plantings, too.

Because I needed a black refrigerator to match the other appliances in our home, the eariliest they could have a new appliance was too late by 2 weeks. So, I checked appliance stores near me and that is when I discovered Reid's. It was 4th of July weekend, so first thing Monday, I reached out and spoke with Maria. Maira was fantastic and a great help! They did not have a black refrigerator, however, they did have a dark green that I could make work. So I bought the refrigerator and It was delivered Friday. Unfortunatley the refrigerator did not work properly and never cooled down and the freezer never produced any ice. So, Saturday I contacted Reid's and spoke with Omar the manager form Santa Barbara store. Omar and Maria worked with the owner and together they all came up with the PERFECT solution. They offered to come back out to pick up the refrigerator and deliver a loaner refrigerator. On my drive to the store, Maria called and told my husband they had a black refrigerator come in and they could deliver it that day. When I got to the store, Maria showed me several options that could be delivered that same day. I chose the black refrigerator, and Alex delivered it the same day and it's working perfectly! For inconvenience, the owner was very generous and we appreciate him very much! We could not be any more pleased ! If I could have given them 10 stars I would have! Thank you so mucy Reid's team! Some years ago, we purchased two appliances from Reids Appliance, Ventura. They were the rudest…read morecompany we had ever dealt with. Again, today, a delivery was made around the corner from us. After delivering the appliance this driver moved his truck onto our street and sat there idling his diesel truck for over 15 minutes. We have people at this address with two forms of cancer and other health issues. Their diesel truck fumes engulfed our entire house even with the windows closed. We called and talked with the manager of the store. This manager stated that their truck was unable to move without idling for 20 minutes per California rules, which is an obvious lie because he moved over 30 feet then stopped out front of our house. There was no apology offered by this manager. What we find typical of Ventura businesses these days is they do not care anything the community they serve. There is no empathy, no caring about people these days. This is what we found from our local Reids some years ago and their attitude has degenerated to being a store we will never purchase items from, ever. Back then, they never serviced our appliances properly, heaven knows what they do these days. We shop at Lowe's-Ventura these days because they back their appliances with knowledgeable service warranties and customer service.

But when we needed to change out an old bathroom vanity for a new one, we knew we had to get serious about it. And if you hire a plumber to do the work, which DOES involve some plumbing, then it costs way more. I resigned myself to the search and literally just contacted the most popular handyman service in my town based on Yelp reviews. Guess what? thank goodness I did! 805's Handyman (NOT to be confused with "805 Handyman") responded right away--even though it was a Sunday and the World Cup games were on. I uploaded pics, sent in the details, got an estimate, and made an appointment. On the day of, a nice truck drove up with the logo painted proudly on the side (not a guy in a fancy sports car, like handyman #9). Two sturdy guys came in and got down to business right away--no fuss, all smiles, and dare I say it? Like they loved what they do. (Unlike handyman #7 who was a former engineer and complained the whole time, even refusing to do some tasks!) Long story shorter, the bathroom vanity switcheroo turned out to be bigger and messier project than expected. It ended up involving some retiling, grouting, electrical adjustments, alterations to trim, painting--and the plumbing bits and installation and removal. The workers were quiet, helpful, communicated the whole time and were just generally old-school excellent (unlike handyman #4, who was nice, but got everything crooked and a bit wonky, bless his heart). The 805's Handyman workers did ALL the plumbing/installing/electrical/tile work/painting--the whole shebang. And the end result is a sweet transformation for our upstairs bath (I also asked them to take care of a few more items on my to-do list, which they did quickly and again, with smiles). The whole thing was very gratifying. So much so, that the next time something in our house needs fixing, I will actually look forward to hiring 805's Handyman again. We're lucky to have them in the Ventura area and they are popular on Yelp for very good reasons.

I communicated with them through yelp and then we took to contact by phone/text. They were super communicative and prompt on setting up a date for repairs. They worked around my schedule which was appreciated and followed through without issue. I had them work on an outdoor electrical/lighting fixtures and Patrick did it with ease. He came with all his supplies and was prepared, he swapped out my old, ugly lighting fixtures and put in the new ones no issue. He was careful but prompt with getting this task complete. Very nice guy and someone you could trust and who did a honest thorough job. Aside from doing great work and being professional, the price point was also very reasonable compared to ten other quotes I got (yes, I do my research). They are affordable, professional and most importantly they did a great job. Even my neighbors watching from the outside were impressed and came over to take some business cards. I know I'll be locking them in for some more appointments and repairs in the near future. Great work and happy to have a trustworthy handyman in the area.

We put in the order with Brad, scheduled an appointment for installation and our installer was Maurice. These guys know what they are doing and they made it very easy for us. The set the expectations and we didn't have to do anything. It took us about a couple hours where we couldn't use the water but then all we had to do is flush out the air from the new system. It's the third day now and everything is working great. WHY WE CHANGED: Just got tired of increasing monthly rates and having to open the garage for the techs to switch out the tanks. Also the Pro Water system does filter out more than the water softener we had.
