The insulation in my crawlspace under the house was consistently wet and after getting plumber to come out to confirm there's no pipe leak, I decided to ask ChatGPT, it told me that prolonged wet insulation will create problems long time and that I should install something like a vapor barrier. I found insulation labs and Ray came out for an estimate. He told me the same thing as ChatGPT did so it confirmed my suspicions. His quote was definitely on the expensive side compare to a competitors quote but he did mention that his quote is expensive because they use 12mm thick vapor barriers which is more resistant. The other competitor quoted me around half the price but for 6mm barriers. I again asked ChatGPT and it told me that 12mm is preferred because 6mm is prone to breaking once a contractor or someone go down to the crawlspace and when that happens it loses its purpose to control vapor. As a result I went with insulations labs and they spent a day putting it in. So far I haven't seen any issues and I believe they have done a good job from the pictures they shared read more

Here's my honest review of my recent insulation service by Insulation Labs. 1. Estimate - Scheduling a sales rep to come to my home and provide me an estimate was very easy through the yelp 'Request pricing and availability' feature. The sales rep, Ethan, made some claims that were not factual about the "Energy efficient home improvement credit" but thankfully I did my research beforehand and knew the insulation would qualify me for a tax credit UP TO $600 (not $3,xxx or whatever crazy high amount he mentioned). I also felt like I was deceived into signing my estimate - I didn't know signing it would essentially confirm that I was going to accept the job by Insulation Labs. Thankfully their estimate came out the lowest out of the 3 or 4 companies I vetted but still a pretty sneaky tactic to say that I needed to sign in order to SEE/VIEW the estimate when, in reality, it was to sign and accept the job. 2. Insulation install - This was a mixed bag. I say this because scheduling the insulation install with Angel "project manager" was a massive headache. Long story short, our first appointment date was missed as Angel put the wrong date in their calendar. Eventually, the team came to install the insulation. The team was thorough in completing all of the work that was discussed during the estimate, HOWEVER, they did break one section of drywall in our ceiling where one of our recessed lights was AND one of the guys accidentally kicked the drainage line for our mini split/AC inverter which caused water to leak into our son's room and damaged the drywall in the ceiling for that room. (see photos for reference). 3. Repairing the damage - Angel was the only person I was in contact with to have our drywall repaired. More scheduling hiccups but eventually, we had a drywall contractor show up (late) and repair the first drywall issue on one day and then the other drywall issues in our son's room another day. I ended up having to call my a/c guy to fix the broken drainage line but Insulation Labs ended up reimbursing me for that cost that I paid out of pocket. Summary: After several scheduling and communications issues, I would say I'm satisfied with the actual insulation in my house and garage. In terms of the interactions and logistics of this whole process, I would go elsewhere if you enjoy your sanity. I would not recommend Insulation Labs for your insulation needs as most of my interactions were very unprofessional. Whoever is in charge here, I recommend training your "project managers" on how to manage projects and communicate professionally with your customers. read more

I was extremely impressed with the three person crew that came into my house. They immediately set up plastic all around the area that they will be utilizing from the front door to where my attic door was. They removed all of the old installation, sanitized and put up rodent proofing. They were amazingly quiet and efficient what they did left no dirt behind. They need to return after my electrician does the work that he needs to do in the attic so they can install the new install new and air sealing. The low price concerned me a little, since I had paid a lot more the last time I had the gutters cleaned. I needn't have worried. Andrew was able to schedule a time at my earliest convenience. He arrived on time, cleaned all the gutters and downspouts. He also pointed out some small wasp nests that I was glad to know about before they became a big problem. It's is very difficult to find good companies to work with when it comes to major house work. We needed insulation to try and help with the summer heat, so I interviewed 3 companies and Eli from Insulation Labs was the clear winner! When he came for an estimate he was on his "A" game. Now I am going to tell you I was a very cautious customer and asked for additional wording in the contract because I am always weary of companies I am not familiar with. Let me tell you, it was not necessary and they had no issue with my concerns at all! I accepted the quote,and a few days later I received a call and set up a time. Now knowing I had my concerns, they manager called me the day before and told me what they were going to do and had me come up in the attic and inspect how they would do the install. The next morning the crew arrived and they were extremely polite. I offered some coffee and then they went to work. They masked off EVERYTHING, it was as professional as it gets. The did the first run of the radient barrier and has me inspect the work and it was spot on. When they finished the radiant barrier install they had me come up again and inspect it and I tell you it was flawless! Next they blew in the installation and I ones again inspected the work and again it was amazing. Then they cleaned everything up, I paid and they went home. I am telling all who read this, it was an amazing experience! They don't cut corners, they give you exactly what is needed. I hired Insulation Labs for a roof insulation project. The insulating has helped some for this Southern California weather. My experience: The sales rep Jacky was informative and professional. The company matched a competitors estimate. The company scheduled the service right away on a Saturday. The job: the job took 8 hours. The workers took turns with removing the old material, cleaning, sealing and installing. (Roofs are extremely hot). After the job I noticed that some light fixtures were lose. The company sent out a team right away to fix the issue. Negatives: No HEPA filter, this was a selling point for me but they did not have it. The fumes/dust from cleaning or vacuuming the materials was strong. If you go outside the vacuums that are used still produce dust. read more

I don't like leaving bad reviews but find it necessary sometimes. - cancelled appt but rescheduled for next day, not big deal really -said they would call before showing up, no call and at my door at 7am, I wasn't even dressed, originally told me between 8am-9am and done around 5pm, weren't done until 7pm. - lost power partially and they said nothing for hours, when I asked they didn't know why but got it working again. - found out later it was because they ripped through wiring carelessly in my attic. Found out bc had to have my alarm company check why it wasn't working. Alarm operator couldn't fix it bc they had also knocked the transformer out and was no where to be found. They either tossed it or insulated over it. - automated gate to driveway wasn't working when they left, found they had bent the sensor which it metal, had to get it fixed too. - now when I use my AC there is loud rattling so they clearly did something else I will have to fix. -left the light on it attic which was on for a couple weeks before I realized. I increased my rating because the manager that helped with my issues was very considerate and helpful. read more

We would have to open a home somewhere else outside the house to install the insulation. I texted Abraham and asked if he can have the foreman leave behind some insulation for us to install when we have access to the closed off area. Furthermore, since my building has a crawl space, I asked them to do the subfloor insulation before the subfloor was put on. They were able to accommodate me on short notice. We did not get to the 2nd phase of insulation of ceilings & walls until nearly 2.5 months later. In the meantime, we had a change of R-value requirements. Jacky Chow was our sales rep and interface who personified exemplary customer care, empathy, and did what he could to address some inconveniences that happened. We had our attic and insulation restored. Insulation Labs made sure any holes were closed up to prevent rodents from coming in and out. They did an amazing job, from the prep job of meticulously covering the hallways and rooms, to removal of old insulation, to installing new insulation, to wrapping up and finishing the job. The only inconvenience that occurred was their latching of our front door deadbolt (a good safety measure) when they left. However this prevented us from being able to come back into our house! We had to find a locksmith to get us into the house. Jacky interfaced with us and addressed our inconvenience with more credit than what we paid the locksmith. Your service guys left a giant duece in my master bath and didn't even have the common courtesy to flush it. I opened my hall bathroom up for them and they blew that out all day long. I specifically told them to stay out of my master bathroom. I chose Insulation labs because I was looking for a respectable business that I could trust doing work in my home. Consistently outstanding from beginning to end... Last month, my parents used Insulation Labs for their home. My mother raved about them. She was impressed by her meeting with Dor (he wrote up her proposal) and by the 3 guys who performed the work. Her attic was filthy. The job took 10 hours (1 hour lunch included). She said they left the place immaculate. She couldn't be happier. Like my mom, I was also impressed by Insulation Labs. Jacky came out to my home last month to give me an quote. He gave me a video presentation that was basic, easy to follow and comprehensive. After the visit, I received a very detail proposal that was reasonable via email. I signed the document online and scheduled a day for the work to be done. Today, at 7 AM, Brandon and his crew (Pastor, Mynor and Domingo) showed up ready to work. They quickly set up the plastic tunnel from the front door to the attic entry and began the removal process. At about 1PM, I was told that the R-38 batting was already laid and they were working on the radiant barrier. A half hour later, the tunnel was down and everything was cleaned up. I was shocked at how quick and easy the process was and how minimal the mess was in between. It was like it never happened. Just before they left, I poked my head into the attic. I had Insulation Labs come out to add more blown-in insulation to our attic. Our house is 22 years old. When the house was built, there was some blown-in insulation put in, but this had been trampled down in places, like where someone had to enter the attic to do electrical work. And there was never any insulation over the garage, which made it really hot in there during the summer. Insulation Labs sent out a three-man crew and a truck full of insulation. A few hours later, all that insulation was in our attic. I think the crew was very professional and did a great job. I now have a thick blanket of pink insulation on top of the old stuff. If anything, they added a thicker layer of insulation than I expected. The garage is noticeably cooler. And when I turn on the cold water at our kitchen sink, the water is definitely cooler than it used to be. In the future, I will be able to compare our utility bills to see what difference this had made. But regardless, I feel like Insulation Labs did what they were supposed to do. One thing I appreciated about Insulation Labs is that, unlike one or two other insulation companies, Insulation Labs did not try to upsell us on removing all our existing insulation and doing a bunch of un-needed work at double the price. This review is long overdue. Insulation Labs completed an entire removal of old insulation, clean and rodent proofing of attic, and installation of new insulation back in September of 2023. Additionally, the team installed over 400 sq ft of plywood for storage. We needed to insulate the attic of our 1940's era home, and these guys did a great job! From the first phone call contact (thanks Diane!), to the super nice and knowledgeable estimator (thanks Sagi!), to Hugo and the installation crew, the project went off without a hitch. Sagi closely inspected the attic at the time of the estimate and showed us pictures of the area and clearly explained the options and the process. He also pulled up the IRS website and explained the rebates available, and encouraged us to look into it closely because some companies twist the facts to sell the job. We did actually have another estimator who did just that, and I was thankful I had taken the time to go through the information myself. They offered some options we were not aware of, like radiant barrier, which we researched and ultimately added to the job. When we decided to accept the estimate they were able to schedule within a week. The crew arrived at 8am and they finished by 4, cleaned up the work area perfectly, you would not have known they were ever there, and then the office sent us photos of the completed work. Our house is so much warmer and the heater has hardly turned on at all. We can't wait to see the difference in summer, and are expecting our utility bills to drop significantly. The work was dong six weeks later and we couldn't be more pleased. A team of five arrived and what was supposed to be a two day job got done in one long day. The cleaned the attic and removed all of the very old construction junk that was up there. Completely vaccummed all dirt so it was a very clear surface. One person was dedicated to blocking possible access points for vermin and they insulated around all recessed lighting. Then installed the new insulation. They worked as a team from the first minute to the last and left things cleaner than when they started. Even at the end of a long day, they made sure pictures were re-hung - they didn't want to take any chance the pictures would be damaged. My attic was a mess--filthy with rodent droppings, missing insulation, HVAC ducts falling down from the rafters, and mussing vent screens that allowed rodents to enter the space. From start to finish, Insulation Labs was impeccable in both their customer service and their work performance. Jacky, who came out to estimate the work needed was even pickier than I am, which is saying a lot. He went to the farthest corners of my attic--where it's not easy to get to--and pointed out legitimate issues that I hadn't noticed. I got the sense that he really cares about the job and his customers. The estimate was reasonable, and when the technicians came our to perform the work specified, they put covers on their shoes, lay down heavy construction paper, and also cordoned off the work area below the attic with plastic, separating it from the rest of the house. They were meticulous, going above and beyond to address all the attic and insulation issues without my having to ask! The attic is now sanitized and clean.
