My attic was a mess--filthy with rodent droppings, missing insulation, HVAC ducts falling down from the rafters, and mussing vent screens that allowed rodents to enter the space. From start to finish, Insulation Labs was impeccable in both their customer service and their work performance. Jacky, who came out to estimate the work needed was even pickier than I am, which is saying a lot. He went to the farthest corners of my attic--where it's not easy to get to--and pointed out legitimate issues that I hadn't noticed. I got the sense that he really cares about the job and his customers. The estimate was reasonable, and when the technicians came our to perform the work specified, they put covers on their shoes, lay down heavy construction paper, and also cordoned off the work area below the attic with plastic, separating it from the rest of the house. They were meticulous, going above and beyond to address all the attic and insulation issues without my having to ask! The attic is now sanitized and clean. I would work with Insulation Labs again in a heartbeat, and I'm going to pass their contact info to my neighbors and real estate agent friends. read more

Overall decent experience (3.5 stars). They definitely have issues with execution and responsiveness. We hired them to put batting insulation in the attic. The proposal delivery and presentation were quite good , however, the actual execution and the follow-up of the items needing attention post execution made me frustrated. The issues on the execution side include: 1.) Proposal Price was incorrect -- there was a cost adjustment needed last minute to the proposal. Proposals should be reviewed for accuracy before sending to customers. 2.) Four guys who I had never met before with minimal English skills showed up for the job without the sales rep. 3.) There were multiple recessed lights damaged during the job. 4.) The attic fan was wired incorrectly in the attic which required rework. 5.) The repair of the multiple damaged recessed lights damaged was not of the best quality. The paint sheen didn't match the original paint at all. 6.) Several canned lights still seem to have been pushed out a bit and still appear to have a gap between the light and the ceiling even after the repairs were completed. 7.) The person schedule to come out to repair the multiple lights didn't show up on the appointed day. I had to reschedule the work and the person just didn't show up. The employee managing issues after the project did not answer my calls in a timely manner. Poor customer service. I'm not even completely sure if the insulation was installed properly but I just have to live with the job as is. I don't know if I have the energy to inspect hte batting in the attic because I just don't think this company cares to make it "right" after the job is completed. They'll take your money and do everything to move on to the next job. Make sure to bid your attic job to multiple entities -- there are MANY companies that do this type of work. read more

I had insulation done several years ago and was told that it needed to either be topped off or replaced. I was also told that it was a fire hazard if I didn't get it changed out. I spoke to a few companies and Insulation Labs not only had great reviews, but were very upfront about about what did and did not need to get done. They came in this week, basically vacuumed out the old insulation and replaced it. They also put in a membrane that would hopefully keep the attic a bit cooler. All in all it was an easy process. I had one issue with some lights that did not work and they sent an electrician right away to fix whatever the issue was. All in all I would highly recommend this company. read more

Insulation labs was one of three companies I received quotes for my attic project. I messaged them via yelp on 4/6/20 and Diana in customer service quickly scheduled an appointment for me for 4/7/20. Jacky was the technician who came out Tuesday. He was young, friendly, professional, polite, punctual and very educational. Being an Asian household, he immediately offered to take off his shoes when entering to avoid dirtying the floor. He had a nice polo shirt that had the company logo with kacky pants. Good representation of the company. My 1.5 year old was sleeping during the time he visited and he made sure to be very quiet when he accessed the attic in her room. She was not disturbed at all. He took some time up there to take photos and identify any concerns. After he finished in the attic, he met with me at our kitchen table to show me the presentation along with the photos he took. His iPad was low on juice and he felt really bad rushing to make it through. I provided a powder cord and he was much more at ease and appreciative. He was glad he did not have to rush through the presentation. The keynote presentation was very thorough and I truly learned so much from it. It was such a difference from my first quote guy who only stayed for 15 mins. He showed me the photos from upstairs and explained how we had asbestos ducts in the attic. The first representative never mentioned anything about the ducts. Jacky made sure I knew he is here to provide me information in order to make an informed decision. He is in no way pushing me add on any services to the insulation estimate requested. Due to the danger of asbestos, they would need to contract out to an abatement company which would cost $750 according to my duct count. They would come one day and then they would start the insulation the following day. Pricing for the different insulation types, pros and cons on each were provided with bias. Gable fan and radiant barrier options were also discussed. With the pricing being more with a radiant barrier, he did say the gable fan would work better at actively removing the heat out with a cheaper price tag. He continued to thoroughly explain the process of the project from start to finish. I want to say Jacky's entire visit was about an hour in duration. He promised me he would get the quote out same day which he also delivered promptly. The quote came in a little on the high end compared to the other two quotes received that day. I really wanted to go with Jacky's company since he did such a great job for the quote. I emailed him to see if the would be able to work with my budget. He ran it by his manager who approved of it and we were set to go. The following day, Jacky coordinated the abatement company to come out and remove the asbestos ducts and the following day, they started the insulation, new ducting and gable fan install. The workers kept all the dust and dirt contained in the tunnel they made, they worked efficiently and cleaned up nicely at the end of day. Prior to leaving, Yiovani informed my husband one of the workers accidentally broke the light caps on our vinyl fence and he had already spoken to project manager Robert to follow up on it. They will have it replaced. Robert, quickly reached out to report the problem and sent me a message on a replacement product. He made sure with us it was the right product (comparable) product since the original was no longer being sold. The product was correct, I gave him the green light and he had the replacements sent from home depot to the door the following morning. Again, the service was absolutely phenomenal. In conclusion, even though this company was $1000 over the lowest quote I received, the customer service and professional representation was totally worth it. The only slightly confusing thing about the whole project was having a few different people taking over the project. With my other house projects, I usually only deal with one point person. Once I got the hang of who was in charge of what, it was less confusing. Overall, my husband and I were very happy with their service from start to finish. No hidden costs and willing to work with our budget. I highly recommend them for any attic, duct and insulation job. We just purchased a new home that had insulation that was well beyond the end of its life. We also just replaced the roof, which meant our attic was largely just dirt. We had 4 companies come out and provide estimates for R38 rolled batts. We were generally impressed with 3 out of the 4 companies making it a hard decision. Ultimately, it was the consultation that sold us. The gentleman than came out was knowledgeable, but not pushy. He was not phased when our next insulation estimator with a competing company arrived early while he was still there. In fact, before that moment, he had already encouraged us to always seek multiple quotes for any work we have done on the house. This is always sound advice, but advice not often disseminated by a sales associate. There were also no high pressure sales tactics, and in the end they price matched our lowest quote and were able to beat it, where the other competitors would only meet the quote by removing promised services. We felt very comfortable through the whole process, and our home instantly felt warmer! I was skeptical about how much of a difference new insulation could make, so I took a screenshot of our Nest heat usage history (new insulation happened in winter months and we love a warm house) before and after new insulation. The weather remained largely the same, the difference between the usage in the left image is prior to new insulation, and the right is after. The house also feels less "drafty" as we don't feel as much of the cold ambient temperatures seeping in. Bottom line, I would definitely recommend this company for attic insulation. P.S. prior to the appointment, I was sceptical of all the 5 star reviews, since reviews are so easily bought and fabricated nowadays, so I took the rating with a grain of salt. It's been so cold we decided to insulate under the house. I got multiple bids, and then shopped the best bid to Insulation labs. They beat the next guy by $150 and put down r-19 batts. Not sure if underhouse insulation is a good buy in hindsight, but insulation labs was there to get the job done quickly and what appears ro be correctly. I notice they even cleaned out dome old wooden junk from under the house that could have been a termite or pest habitation. They go above and beyond, and I was glad to use them again. read more

NOTE: I did not hire this company. This review is based on my assessment of a representative of the company (Eran) who responded to my email with a phone call. I was ready to have my sun-blasted, west facing wall injected with insulation (typically $1000-$1500 minimum job) when Eran from Insulation Labs returned my phone call. This man is a saint. He researched my home and told me that my walls were already filled with insulation. What's more, he spent 20 minutes on the phone explaining the physics involved in heat generation in homes and telling me the best plan of action; sealing the recesses, nooks and crannies in my attic and checking for proper insulation installation adjacent to the eaves. He then made a calculation and advised me to acquire a 1650 cfm attic fan at the Home Depot for about 100 bucks and have an electrician install and wire it with the ability to override the thermostat. If that wasn't enough, he further advised hiring day-labor for the insulation job and said to have this person call him for step-by-step instructions when the hiree was up in the attic... No, Eran didn't make the sale, he simply gave me sound advice and kindly spent precious time solving my dilemma with the lowest possible cost. It's been said that "You are the company you keep" and in my years, I've found that to be very true. we had a quote from Insulation Labs done after they gave our son a very reasonable quote. we saw Ray on Wednesday and decided to move forward with the job including the R38 batting and attic fan installation. we immediately received a call from. checking and they were able to do the job the following day. the workers were prompt and very clean and while a noisy process for the first half of the day, they fit everything completed by 5 pm. the only hiccup in the process as trying to get the attic fan device attached by Bluetooth to the app. The worker was unable to assist with this and said his supervisor would follow up. we never had any contact from this superviisor , however after continued efforts I managed to link the system with the app on my own. ( fortunlately since no one ever checked in ) the system is working well and the first day my AC did not even cycl on until 330 pm( instead of 11 AM) Think this was a good purchase for a fair price. Pictures of attic before and after were impressive and attic is now probably cleaner than the house. Recommend this Company read more

Had high hopes for this company , I reviewed various quotes and even though this company's was the highest I still chose them based on the initial interaction. Great sales by rep. Very responsive sold me on attic clean up , sanitizing, rodent proofing and insulation replacement with the use of " hepa filters" to minimize dust etc. from the cleaning . They did follow up with reminders which was great. ,but day of job I kept noticing dust everywhere which is why I knew right away team wasn't equipped with filters and one of the supports to keep plastic tunnel up kept falling down damaging walls and the pulling of hoses also damaged walls . Once job was completed I asked staff to confirm why filters were not used , he replied with "we didn't have it and you can talk to office" . I also noticed attic was not sanitized as I was in the home during service and not once was anything brought into home for the sanitizing. @ the end of service I pointed out zero use of their selling point of hepa filter use or sanitizing and the poorest rodent proofing attempt and the damages to walls . Beware if you have a freshly painted home they don't have proper training and if they see a 1/2 inch opening surrounded by black paint they will not use 1/4 inch galvanized screen to prevent rodent entry they will use yellow expansion foam very liberally . On the upside the drywall wall repair guy they sent for repairs is someone that does part time work for them that is part of a separate construction company and he was very polite and efficient . No complaints as far as the interactions with lady on the phone and the gentleman trying to resolve all the issues they were Very responsive and polite and I don't know if the end result was poor planning , lack of communication or a combination or both but the execution of work compared to what is offered does not match . Expected more from a job that cost thousands from a company with so many great reviews . Reason for such a low review is due to having experience dealing with so many vendors things like these issues shouldn't happen on a job and nowadays almost every single home has eyes everywhere that can be reviewed to see exactly what was performed in your home . read more

We hired Insulation Labs to remove old insulation, rat proof, air seal, and sanitize our attic. We have had a lot of rodent activity and despite our attempts to seal up the attic, we have been playing whack-a-mole for years. So we decided to bite the bullet and clear everything out. Their field rep, Jackie, came out for the inspection and provided a very thorough explanation of their services and was clearly very knowledgeable. The estimate I received was very reasonable and lower than the two other companies that bid on the job. Miguel, Martin, and Moy came today to do the job and worked all day (8-5) to get it done. These guys must have super powers to be able to withstand the heat and cramped conditions in an attic for hours, and do it with Hazmat suits and breathing apparatus on. Part of our attic was only accessible from outside and was impossible for a human to fit inside so they were not sure if it could be cleaned out. But, in the end they found a way to get the vacuum to reach most of the space, which was a relief, given our desperation to get rid of the rodents. After they finished, they showed me pictures of the holes they patched up. Now, hopefully, the rats won't find a way back in. read more

We had Insulation Labs come and clean out our whole attic, do insulation and rat proofing. This was about a year ago. We thought everything went well at the time but we just recently went into our attic to find everything chewed up by (presumably) a rat. We didn't even have rats in our attic before but we decided to do the rat proofing just to be safe. Considering the fact that they completely cleaned out our attic, we know this is a new rat that got in there. We don't know how long it has been up there but we definitely expected the rat proofing to last at least a year. We called the company and asked about their warranty since they clearly missed something in the rat proofing and they said they only have a warranty for 1 month. What kind of warranty is that?? Really regret not looking into this ahead of time. Instead, I relied on the reviews but clearly our experience was quite different. Unfortunately, not only will we be on our own to deal with this issue but we also wasted our money on the rat proofing. Most of our items in our attic have been destroyed by this there have been destroyed by whatever is up there so this is just an all around bad situation. I absolutely loved Attic Insulation Labs! Everything from the consultation/estimate to the actual work was just so professional and COVID-conscientious. (I'm using my sister's account to leave this review because I don't have an account, but we live together, so it's all good.) Anyway, they did this work a little over a week ago, but I really wanted to see the effects of the new insulation for a while before leaving a review--let me tell that is it WORTH it! My A/C used to constantly be going off due to the extreme heat, but after Insulation Labs came out to install the new insulation and other features that I opted to get (Radiant Barrier and Attic Fan), my A/C hardly goes off now because the temperature has dramatically dropped in the house and the cool air that does come in actually stays in! My previous attic insulation was under code and just poorly done, so it's relieving to know that everything is not only up to code, but also extremely effective. #1--the consultation/estimate Oliver, a project manager, came out to my house on time and wearing a mask. He was very friendly and non-pressuring, which was a big plus. He also answered all of my questions, even some that I repeated because I had forgotten his previous answers, but he was patient the entire time and thorough in his explanations. He even drew diagrams for me, since seeing visuals always helps! After looking around my attic (he even took pictures to show me what he was talking about), he gave a suggestion for two types of insulation that would suit my needs. I initially looked at this company because they do spray foam insulation, which I know is costly, but I've read that it's one of the better types of insulation, if not the best type of insulation. What surprised me was that Oliver didn't suggest this type of insulation, but rather two other types (Batts and Cellulose). When I questioned Oliver about the spray foam insulation, he told me in all honesty that the cheaper (in price) insulation (Batts and Cellulose) would better suit the nature of my attic, and that it would have the same results as the spray foam. (He explained that spray foam is really suited toward smaller spaces and walls, rather than the relatively more spacious attic of my house, so Batts or Cellulose would be better for me). I really appreciate the fact that he didn't try to sell me the more expensive insulation due to my ignorance, but explained to me the pros and cons of each type of insulation so that I could make a better-informed decision. I ended up going with the highest R-grade Batts insulation they offer and I am glad I did! Oliver also explained some other options for the attic that I could have installed, but in no way did he pressure me into buying them. He simply explained the effects and benefits of each option and gave me an estimate for the Batts insulation with and without these options. I ended up going with these options (the Radiant Barrier and Attic Fan) because they would help to further decrease the heat in my attic, thereby reducing the heat in my house. I also opted to go with the Rodent Proofing option (seals up any holes in attic) and I am especially glad I did because I was later told that I had two holes in my attic! I would hate to know that rats or other creatures could come into my house through such holes, so it's a great option! All in all, Oliver was very professional and friendly in his conduct, knowledgable and thorough in his explanations, honest in his evaluations, and non-pressuring in his work. A fantastic guy to work with! #2--receptionist/secretary Just wanted to give a shout out to Dianna! She kept in contact with me to confirm my appointment time and also followed up with a question I had after the work was done. She is timely in her responses, and very friendly and professional when dealing with customers! #3--actual work Before arriving, Yovani gave me a call to let me know that he and his workers would be at my house within 20 minutes. They came in the allotted time period (a 2-hour period) and even called ahead to let me know when they were close, so I really appreciated that! I also need to mention that before beginning the work, Yovani confirmed all the aspects of the work that were going to be done in my attic before they actually started. I really appreciated that he did this because it just ensures me that I am getting all the features that I am paying for when they work. They all wore face coverings and were very friendly in their conduct. They were even conscientious in the volume of the music they played every so often, so that it didn't bother me at all when working. Yovani even made sure that pictures were taken of the work (27 of them!) and let me know that I could request the pictures at my convenience. For a coupe of years, since I purchased my house in N. Hollywood, it would not retain a balanced indoor temperature when the heating or cooling is on. My energy bills are pretty high as well since the heating and cooling won't reach the proper temperature and keeps running constantly throughout the entire day. I was under the impression that the HVAC system had technical issues and called a repairman. When the HVAC guy came to test it he concluded that there was no problem with either the heating, cooling or the air ducts system. He did note that the attic insulation is almost nonexistent and that is most likely the reason why the hot air travels quickly into or out of the house.  From a short online research I've learned that blown-in insulation, which is what I had, settles down with time and looses it's insulation properties. I contacted a handful of insulation contractors and requested a quote for fiberglass insulation batts only. Out of all the companies who came out to see the job, Moses, the owner of Attic Insulation by LABS, seemed to be the most reliable, trustworthy and professional. In general, when it comes to contractors and other service providers, I prefer dealing with the owner or a manager over a technician or a salesperson. Moses's quote wasn't the cheapest or the most expensive, he came in between others and within budget, which was good enough for me to decide to hire him for the job.  The attic cleaning and insulation installation were done on the same day and definitely up to my expectations. His workers are detail oriented, they did a very good job cleaning the attic and removing all the old insulation, they even cleaned it out of dust which I was not expecting at all. The R-38 Owens Corning batt insulation they installed was exactly what I wanted. They installed it all over the attic and made a great effort getting it in to even the tightest corners. When their work was done they cleaned really well behind them and didn't leave the slightest sign they were at my house. I'm truly happy with my choice to hire Moses and his crew for the job, they aced it. read more

I am currently remodeling my place and got bids from a few different places and while they weren't the cheapest, they weren't the most expensive either. ***Major Tip*** Never go with the most expensive or cheapest bids. Aaron did a very thorough inspection and gave me a very clear game plan of how he is going to get rid of the rodents issue and improve the insulation rating of my house. They came in with a crew of 4 people, two covered the crawl space and two the attic. The entire process took about a day in which they did an excellent job preventing any of the mess from getting into the house. (My Roomate has terrible allergies) They showed me the spaces right after the cleaning, I was impressed by the job they did. Every once in a while I assist my parents with things they need to do around the house . This time, attic cleaning and insulation was our main concerns. After a quick search on my favorite rating app (wink, wink) we came across attic insulation by LABS. They answered right away, and we had an inspection appointment scheduled for the following week. Their technician arrived right on time, which we truly appreciate, wore he's weird alien suit and climbed up the attic. Approximately 20 min later he came back down and showed us pictures of the horrors that were going on up there. Appearntly we had a severe rodent issue and, besides the bad smell, they ate some of our electric wires and AC ducts! After seeing those photos my dad went up the attic , he had to verify it himself. After seeing whats going in the attic my parents couldn't wait a min more and requested the earliest cleaning and insulation replacement appointment! Fast forward 4 days, a crew of 3 guys arrived, and started covering with plastic and tape their entire work path, and asked us to secure anything that might get damaged in the process. The cleaning took about 3 hours , I know because that's when my mom finally got the courage to go up there and check out the progress . The rest of the process is a little confusing for me as I'm not a very technical person, but I know it involves closing all the holes so new rats won't be able to come back in , and obviously installing new insulation. My parents are super happy and now that they know how great Yelp is, they started their own accounts ! If you came across my review don't look further, Attic insulation by LABS are the right choice. Just a quick tip, after seeing how the whole attic cleaning and insulation installation process goes, I can clearly see how unprofessional insulation contractors can cause a lot of mess and easily damage your property. Very pleasant experience with Insulation Labs. Loved working with Jacky (5 stars) as he came to our home and was very thorough in reviewing our attic needs and came up with very valuable information and really answered all of our questions and took the extra step in getting into the attic and taking pictures and explaining to us with what he was seeing. His estimate was very reasonable as compared to other high rated attic businesses. He was available throughout the process making us comfortable with working with Insulation Labs. It was also a great experience working with Angel (5 stars) in the coordination and the logistics for the attic project. There were some minor repair work in the attic area that needed attention and he was very courteous and prompt in taking care of our needs and making sure these items were taken care of right away. The insulation crew did a credible job (4 stars). They were very courteous and diligent going about their work. I had to point out a couple of items that Jacky told me that was to be done (filing gaps in the vent openings going through the roof, there was also a mix up where some blown in insulation was supposed to installed in an hard to get area in the attic of which material and equipment were missing during the insulation, and an electrical connection issue which ended up being due to a electrical switch not being switched back on as they troubleshooted the electrical issue). Nothing major and everything got resolved quickly due to the efforts of Angel and Jacky. Overall, we are very pleased with working with Insulations Labs and highly recommend contacting the company for your attic insulation needs. As far as considering refreshing you attic and installing new insulation you will never regret it as we have noticed the difference from Day 1. I can't say enough good things about Abraham and his incredible crew. I had many questions and Abraham replied via text or phone to each of them, even on a Sunday night. In spite of delays on the attic insulation and reflective insulation in the garages (2 houses) due to the COVID-19 outbreak, once the job was underway, I was amazed at how thorough, efficient, and meticulous the crew was. They did everything we'd agreed upon and more, even going so far as to insulate the attic walls! We noticed the change right away in how the houses were able to maintain cool temperatures on warm days and visa versa. The crew lined the garages with plastic so that not a shred of old insulation hit the floor and swept away everything before leaving, all at an excellent price. I couldn't be happier. Insulation Labs was recommended by another great company, Titan Air Conditioning. We had new insulation put into my in-law's house the end of April. What a difference in keeping the temperature down in the house! The workers did a fantastic job of cleaning out the old insulation and rat droppings. Sealed openings with foam and caulking. Installed R-30 16" fiberglass batting insulation. They were good at keeping the inside of the house clean from debris. They were polite and responsive to our questions and concerns. We contacted attic insulation labs to have them come out regarding a problem with our attic. We also had some issues with mice. Oliver arrived on time. He surveyed the attic and took pictures and measurements. We sat down reviewed his findings and what recommendations he had. We were in agreement with all of his findings. We opted to upgrade our insulation as well. What needed to be done was to remove all existing insulation. Clean and sanitize the attic. Rodent proof including the interior and exterior of our home. Have rolled insulation installed and replace air duct that had been damaged. The crew arrived on time and ready to go. They thoroughly explained the process and answered any questions that we had. The entire process took around eight hours. By the time the crew was done repairing and cleaning it was like they were never there! We were so happy with the process. Attic insulation lab was recommended to us by Friend's. We did not get any other estimates because we were so impressed with Oliver's presentation and not to mention the pricing! Set up an appointment for an inspection and their representative was respectful, explained everything clearly and gave recommendations on what was worth spending money on. I had got 3 quotes for my project and they were the lowest price and had the best customer service. They set me up with their asbestos contractor to remove old ducting from my attic, which was also a smooth process. The attic work itself was great, they treated the house with respect and always kept me aware of what they would be doing. No complaints. read more

I used Insulation Labs to clean, sanitize, deodorize, rodent proof and put in new R-38 rolled batt insulation on the home I recently purchased. I met with Abraham who was very nice, polite, courteous and knowledgeable. He didn't try to pressure me or upsale me. I got 4 estimate from 4 different companies and I went with them because of the price, prompt respond and customer service. The crew which consisted of Erwin, Pastor, Moises A., and Moises C. arrived on time and walk me through the process before starting the work. Erwin kept me updated through out the day with where they were during each step and process. The crew were very nice, courteous and professional. They completed the job on time and cleaned up afterwards. The new insulation should keep the house cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Today is 93 degree outside but the inside of the house is only 73 degree! Having the new insulation plus a attic fan really helps reduce the heat. This is money well spent! read more

I took Insulation Labs up on their offer for the LADWP free attic insulation. I filled out a short inquiry on Facebook, they phoned the next day, and the day after that they sent a fellow to inspect my place, and the following day the technicians came to blow in the insulation. They do all the paperwork for you so you don't have to do a thing. Chris and Walter were prompt, courteous, efficient, and put down protective cloth to protect my floor. They both wore masks, which is important in these times. They were done in under an hour. No muss and no fuss. All in all, this was a wonderful experience that didn't cost me a penny. If you're wondering if it's too good to be true, it's all true. If you have a home and get an LADWP bill, you'd be crazy not to do this.
