I found him very straightforward, easy to work with and accommodating. The service is excellent. Since I had solar and insulation going on at the same time, he was really able to guide me through the process and also address important things to consider to make my project as clean as possible. Him and his team were able to coordinate around the insulation installation as well as the solar company so they could install brackets without affecting the new roof. We had water damage inside our home, partly from roof leaks. Our contractor took a look at the chimney and told us the installation around the base was done poorly and would cost more than $10K to fix. That's when we called Tomar at SLR Roofing. He came out, inspected everything, and immediately put us at ease. The chimney base installation was actually solid--it just needed to be resealed with silicone. In preparation for a possible El Nino event in winter, I wanted to have my roof inspected and, if necessary, repaired. I did this about 7 years ago as well. I called 3 companies and asked them to inspect my roof and provide me with a written estimate of work and cost. Over the next week, roofing contractors came by and walked across my roof to assess it, and subsequently sent me their written estimates. They ranged from $2,350 to $5,200. I would have been satisfied with only 3 estimates, but I had inadvertently called a fourth contractor, SLR Roofing. Tomer (Tom) came to my house and, like the others, inspected my roof. However, unlike the others, he told me that the roof was in excellent condition and needed no work. When I showed him the other proposals, he scoffed and told me that I was being sold something that I really didn't need. At best, all I needed was some minor resealing of several tiles with silicon. He got up on the roof and spent the next half hour doing this for free!! He asked for nothing in return. I can't recommend SLR any higher. I found SLR Roofing on Angies List; using it as a last resort as I did not like what I was hearing from other roofing companies. I wasn't looking for a better price as much as some confidence in who would be doing the roof on our 6-plex in Santa Monica. Everyone I spoke with was genuinely gracious & professional and did what they said they would do from start to finish. Tomer- their foreman came out with a ladder then sent us sent us a proper bid we could accept to get the ball rolling. This was in contrast to other companies' proposal from drone photos that was incomplete and didn't adequately specify materials used. Some of them were "paper contractors", i.e. General contractors with a B License, that were using sub-contractors with a C-39 license. SLR has both a B & C-39 license. They also install raingutters- not the Home Depot kind- the aluminum ones that are made at the site. It was truly a turn-key operation. This first job was done in March 2025 and we then had them do another building last November. The two previous jobs have composition shingle; now we have engaged them to do a flat roof. Their bid for this flat roof was higher than other companies, however the type of roof they are using- Elastoflex base sheet with Polyfresko cap sheet will definitely last longer. There won't be rusty nails backing out from the base cap. read more

Earlier this year we realized we needed our roof replaced due to some leaking. We reached out to a few roofing companies to get quotes. Joey came out and was able to give us a detailed assessment and a quote. We put off the project until this month and decided to go with SLR as we felt they were the most professional and trustworthy based on our interaction with Joey. Recently noticed a small leak on a flat roof portion of an overhang. SLR Roofing was performing a complete roof replacement around the corner from our house and noticed their sign in the front yard. Gave them a call to see if they provide minor roof repair. They do and set up an appointment with Tom for a few days later. As background - our roof is one of those tiled roofs (the Spanish style rounded tiles). Anton came for a preliminary look, talked with me very clearly and transparently about what we needed. Didn't do doomsday scenarios, didn't put out any scare tactics. Really appreciate this. We ended up removing the tile, replacing/upgrading the paper, then re-installing the tile. Job was done over three quick days, Anton and the company was very communicative about all of it.
