I have a small roof leak on my bathroom addition. Inquiry AAA through Yelp and have a promptly feedback of appointment time. On came out to inspect the roof and pointed out the various problems on the roof, and suggested a full replacement on the bathroom section. I also inquire about work on our garage (though it's not leaking, but it's in need of replacement). On gave me an estimate of work for both garage and bathroom in a terrific value; I was shocked initially since no other contractor has given me such a reasonable estimate. Written and later official estimate was given, and the cost, part, work was exactly as quoted (aside from plywood needed for the garage) On is very genuine and respectful. He maintains a very high level of communication, and you just feel greatly welcomed when talking to him. Out of the 4 days of work done, On is pretty much there every day to inspect and verify proper work is done by the crew. I hired On from AAA Expert Roofing to repair leaks in our house and garage roofs. The work began in late July 2021. When my children and I were out, the roofers set the garage roof on fire. I heard from neighbors that people passing saw the smoke and flames and called the fire department. Three fire trucks came and hosed down everything the roofers didn't (I noticed my backyard hose had burn marks on it). We used the garage for storage. Most everything was burned, smoke damaged, or water damaged. On assured me everything would be repaired to be as good as or better than before. It has now been over three months. We have mosquitoes from the rain water getting inside the debris from the garage. Nothing has been repaired. On gave me the phone number of AAA Expert Roofing's insurance adjuster last week. The adjuster finally returned my messages today. He said the file has been closed because their insurance doesn't cover this kind of claim. We recently installed new roof (plywood and shingles) on a very old bungalow. The whole process was very painless and quite smooth. I'd highly recommend AAA. Price, quality, responsiveness, timely execution, and customer services are all 5 star quality. Here's my breakdown of evaluation: 5 stars for the price: We called a few roofers in the area and AAA's estimate is by far the most reasonable. It was 40% lower than competitors' for the same quality. I was a little worried that AAA's quote was a lot lower than competitors but after looking at the previous works they've done in the area, I felt a lot at ease. 5 stars for the responsiveness: Estimator (On) came on time and gave the on-the spot estimate. Other roofers took days or weeks for an estimate. 5 stars for scheduling and timely execution: the crew came and finished the job. No nonsense. The came right at 8:00 am on Wednesday and finished everything by Saturday 3 stars for cleanliness: the crew dropped a lot of debris into the attic. I wish I covered the attic with a tarp before work started. 6 stars for taking responsibility: during the demolition, a piece of shingle fell into the wall furnace vent and the heater didn't work. They crew came and went extra miles to get the debris out of the vent and it took them a few hours. Other roofers may have argued and walked away because this issue came up after the work was done. 3 stars for pricing on added scopes: there were minor things that were added and the pricing for them were pretty high. They charged $250 for a removal and disposal of a 40 square ft of old plywood. They also added $300 for 25 ft of extra metal flashing, corking. We now are ready to face the wicked winds in our area that ripped off our old roof shingles on many occasions and left us with a leaking roof before. Now we can face the rain with confidence. His people know what they are doing and would leave the site clean at the end of the day. We even caught one of them that was cleaning our porch giving one of our potted plants a little water from his own water bottle. After 25 years with the same roofer who retired, I was back in the market for a new flat roof for a 4-unit building. Everyone wanted to sell me on silicone because the profit margin is so much better but I wanted a new roof to avoid all the pitfalls of silicone (try-and-then-hope-for-the-best). I had 7 bids and trusted only two of the people, On Emuna & AAA being one of them. None of the others told you what they were going to do and how they were going to do it. I had a problem with pooling water near one of the scuppers that On said he would fix with crickets (elevated plywood) and did. On sold me only what I needed--he said that I needed only felt and Polyfresko but I went for an additional layer of "stick & peel" to be sure that I the roof would outlast me. The other knowledgeable roofer was 40% higher than any of his competition while AAA was priced low and fair. The contract included free replacement of a good amount of wood and parapet tiles. My impression of On was that he was honest, very competent, took pride in his work, and was friendly and responsive to all my questions. Prior reviewers had the same impression. On got the permit quickly in an HPOZ neighborhood and to my pleasant shock and surprise sent out a crew of 10 men who completed the entire job in three days with a good clean-up--On came and supervised in person as needed. I had two questions that got good answers: 1) Why were two pipes left open to rain? (Because these allow the toilets, tubs & sinks to drain and rainwater goes directly in to them.) 2) Some small parts of the underlying felt were ripped, torn or missing!? (Felt does not stop water--it's there only to prevent the torching from damaging the wood.) On disposed of my 16 very large solar panels for the price of the dumping fee and saved me the headache of getting a solar expert to remove them at great cost. The LADBS inspector was impressed, signed off, and told me that roof was going to last a very long time. His crew might have been gentler with the parapet tiles (he charged me for 20) but I understand the trade-off in his labor costs and it's a tiny issue in a great job at a very good price. read more

Ahn kept us informed of every step from the inspections, materials, to issues that popped up along the way (our house is very old) They were at our house everyday early and on time and completed the roof in 3 days. They even came to tarp up the roof before these huge rains we had. I was very impressed with them fixing and pointing out some things that would come up as a concern in the future. For example they installed a tiny sloped area next to the chimney so that the water didn't collect there. They didn't have to do that but they actually take pride in their work and want to see it done right. They also pointed out some dangers they found. My consumer review from my experience with the business coming to my home for an estimate was negative as follows: I was told an estimate is $250, which will be applied towards the job, if accepted. This wasn't told to me when I scheduled an appointment for a consultation, I was under the impression the this was free. I asked the rep, Sean I think his name was, who came over to take a look at my roof, to NOT place the ladder against my brand new white gutters. The person said don't worry don't worry, and I was persistent again not to but again I got the don't worry I do this all the time type of response. I didn't want to argue any further, and sure enough he put the ladder against it which scratched off the paint. When I pointed to it, he said he didn't have his ladder there and tried to say it was more off centered and not where the scratch was. I said good bye as I was in a rush and he was late for his appointment. **UPDATE: 1/25/19@ 12:15** The business reached out to do what they could to resolve my concerns noted in my review. For that I felt necessary to up the 2 stars to 3 stars. But as I clarified to the office manager who contacted me, I don't feel comfortable taking back this review as the AAA rep took upon himself to put the ladder on my brand new gutters after I told him not to. "On," the specialist, came out to give me an estimate. Unfortunately, the company could not help me because my roof has what is characterized as a very steep pitch. Only certain roofers with specialized equipment will work on these roofs (for liability reasons). I had also heard this from a few other roofers whom I contacted. But what made me want to give this company 5 stars was that On still came in and inspected the leak and, in contrast to the last roofer, diagnosed the problem and told me it was a very easy fix involving just the flashings around my chimney.
