I had my home re-roofed, and just three months later, it started leaking. Since then, it's been a saga -- eight visits in one year! They do show up to "fix" things, but for the amount of money spent, this should not be happening. The workmanship is disappointing: exposed nails, messy mastic work that looks like a patch job rather than a new roof, and a mix of old and new flashing. The leaks have caused damage to walls and ceilings in several parts of the house. I even had to hire other roofers to identify problems so this company could explain to their own crew what needed to be done -- they couldn't find the issues themselves. I got 4 price quotes and was just about to sign with a different company in the next few days because the price was decent and I liked them, and I was tired of getting quotes. We are SO Lucky and Grateful to have found Ben Tall and his roofing company. Our roof had reached it's last legs and was do for a big replacement. At the same time our HVAC had reached it's end after 20 years as well. It was a big job to coordinate craning our HVAC off the roof then ripping the old roof off before repairing all the damaged wood underneath and replacing both of our skylights, then they put the new shingles on and lastly the new HVAC unit was craned onto the pad and everything is PERFECT!!! I must have interviewed about 8 different companies to redo our roof. We finally selected Tall roofing because they were knowledgeable and did not employ any high pressure sales. They came back with the second lowest bid for the job, but I had a good gut feeling about them. I am very pleased with the work that they did. Ben and/or Daniel were at the job site every single day (multiple times) making sure everything went well, their team showed up exactly at 7 am and worked diligently throughout the day and made sure to clean up before they left. They took care of a a bunch of other smaller jobs that make quite a difference. For example, we had a solar pool heater that we had all but given up trying to save. Several of the other roofers had convinced me that it would be impossible to save, so we were looking at spending over $6K to get a new one re-installed. I never even brought it up to Ben because I had assumed he would say it was trash. Instead, he, out of his own accord, offered to remove it carefully and do his best to reinstall it, all without charge! And indeed he did! It is now back up on our roof and in working order. This was a huge savings! He also built a new mount for our air conditioner because our old one looked old. These are the things that make it obvious that he takes pride in his work, and wants to make sure things are done right. But what I am most impressed with was what happened when something went wrong, that to me really tells you whether a company is trust worthy. There was a miscommunication regarding the underlayment we had requested. Once I noticed, Ben immediately called me and apologized and wanted to make it right. Not only did he honor our agreement (despite the fact it would cause his team to do extra work) but he knocked a bit off the price for the inconvenience. That is true professionalism. In addition, he maintained us informed throughout the process and was clearly always cognizant of not upping the budget unless absolutely necessary. Finally a honest roofer!! I normally do not leave reviews, but I have to in this case. Ben Tall Roofing exceeded all my expectations. I received 5 bids for my roofing job and I am so happy I found Ben who did a beautiful job. Ben was on site every day to check up on the progress and answer any questions. He was very easy to work with, very pleasant, honest, and gave me an extremely competitive bid. His bid was almost 50% less than the highest quote. He did not sacrifice on the quality, workmanship, or materials used. I needed to replace my entire 30 year roof. From my perspective, it was a challenging job. First, my old CalShake crumbled as the tear off started. It was mess. Ben covered all the areas surrounding my house including my pool. His great crew cleaned up every day. They were very easy to communicate with. Blew out all the debris from the gutters. They used a magnet to pick up all the nails and metal debris. Secondly, my 4 roof sections have very large pitches, which made the work challenging. The workers were very careful using ropes and harnesses to ensure their safety. I had very bad storm damage to the garage at my house in the hills a month ago- and it leaked so badly, that it was clear that it needed to be re roofed entirely.. So i turned to yelp where i've found many great contractors who have done great work for me in the past.. I read the reviews on TALL Roofing and then i emailed them to get someone out to quote it.. They replied immediately.. i must say that Ben the owner of of Tall Roofing is unbelievable !.. He came out and looked at the garage and immediately advised me that i had to remove a planter that was soaking the garage wall, and after inspecting the roof he quoted me an incredibly affordable price to re-roof it with a metal flat roof and a new rain gutter custom made . On the day they arrived i was blown away by their expertise.. He arrived with 4 men and two trucks and was so incredibly fastidious and clean in their work- even to the point that they put 2x4s on my driveway so as to not dent the plastic drains at the top of my driveway with their truck.. And as the roof was finished -he had brought out a custom rain gutter man-who completely built a new rain gutter and spout and remounted that -where the damaged tree crushed gutter could not longer work. Its just perfect now for drainage and the new roof is fabulous.. i truly cant say enough about this company, they are the best and they really care for the job, their customer and delivering perfect work at a great price.. We had our roof replaced by Tall Roofing back in April of 2014. They did a great job! Everything came out well and it was done within the time frame they told us. The ultimate test were the rains this season and we had absolutely no issues. With the old roof, we had many leaks and the installation was done poorly by another roofer. Ben recommended that we put on a double layer of felt for the new one and I think it did the trick. Recently I went up on the roof to trim some tree branches and I ended up breaking a tile.
