First Ace Hardware I didn't feel welcome. No one has said hello except the girl up front making popcorn or asked if I needed help. Several employees walked by didn't ask if needed assistance and when I did they just walked by. I'm new to the area and don't know this store. I was looking for some sale specials. Went to Pacific Ace Hardware just after the parade and there was a line out the door. Was greeted by the busy staff. Asked to where to find a few things and they took me right to them and offered advice. You just don't get service like that at other establishments. Also asked about the advertised grills and if they had them in stock. Diego and Mel were great and they were able to find the one I wanted. I happily agreed to the fair price and even a few more accessories upon their recommendation. They even saved me a few bucks by bundling them with a promotional Yeti traveler mug. I like small town feel. I go to independent barber shops, I try to shop locally. Even though this holds the Ace name, this feels like a local, small town hardware store (I believe it's independently, locally owned). The people are super nice and helpful. I came in looking for a few things and within seconds of walking in the door someone was walking me around showing me the options for what I was looking for. I appreciated that. Just got home from a Pacific Hardware visit! What a wonderful adventure! They stock SO many items that are great to look at, wonder what folks do with these things, and pick out what you can't live without! And I am NOT talking about "regular" hardware. I am talking a great cookbook selection, canning supplies - YES, CANNING SUPPLIES - housewares, decorations; just so much that is current, gorgeous, and mostly practical. All of it covers a wide area and array, and I found exactly what I was looking for! AND, they have THE BEST folks working there! Everyone is kind, friendly, HELPFUL, and knowledgeable! The customer is the focus of the store and when I was around any of the staff, their attention was on what I needed, if I was finding everything I wanted, and all about ME! I was so surprised because that is NOT the retail environment that is prevalent in today's business. It SHOULD be, and at Pacific Hardware - it IS!!! Really like this store. It is a throwback to the hardware stores of the 1960s. I think they still have items on the shelves from the 60s and 70s. I purchased a Traeger and unfortunately I had issues with it after a few weeks. I called Traeger and they were basically no help what so ever. I called Mel at Ace and he went over and beyond to get the parts and get the BBQ fixed in a very quick fashion. I have a large event I needed the BBQ for and they really stepped up for me. I would highly suggest to by any BBQ's or any of your hardware needs from them. You don't see service like this very often now a days. read more

Most of the people here are helpful but I dislike scott. he's arrogant and talks down to customers. I get the feeling he feels he's better than everyone. For instance he was telling three other redshirted employees a story and when I approached this pack of red shirts I had to wait until he finished his story before anyone turned to me to acknowledge my presence. So scott not a nice person...why would the other employees ignore me? Because scott has some kind of clout and they're scared to break away. It also shows that customers are not priority one. they don't need my money evidently so congrats. read more

This was my first visit to this store. I don't know the last time I've been in an ACE hardware store, but I was very impressed with this store and the employees. Since it was my first time in this store, I had wandering eyes and was asked if I needed helped a couple of times, in a friendly way of course. The gentlemen helped me out with what I was looking for, took their time with me. I was quite impressed, especially compared to the help I get at Home Depot and Lowes (...crickets...) The store had a pretty good variety of products and was a lot larger than it looked from outside. It has a mom and pop's store type vibe. Funny story... I had all the stuff I picked up, about 15 items, and brought it to the counter, about 10 minutes before they closed. While the cashier was ringing up the goods I realized I didn't have my wallet on me, so I excused myself to check if it was in the car, which it wasn't. Many customers have now lined up to make their final purchases and I came in embarrassed and apologized to the cashier, and she was a sweetheart about it. I felt guilty for having that much on the counter and not having the money to purchase them, knowing they'll have to restock everything I pulled. My bad. On the way out and into the car I managed to find 6 dollars and a whole lot of quarters that I saved for parking in the city and I ran back in to pay for at least some of the items. The cashier was totally cool about it and assured me that that's happened before. Instead of giving me a cold look or giving attitude, she was still smiling and even asked me if I wanted to sign up for the ACE rewards program. That impressed me, with the little time they had left to close, she still offered to sign me up... Which I did. I appreciated the coolness and friendliness of all the employees at this store, it was a pleasant shopping experience and I'd definitely go back. Shout out to Karen the cashier! You rock! read more

Mixed feelings on this store. I like the store its self and the products but the treatment from the staff is about a 50/50 shot you will be treated kindly or respectfully. Had a part break on my toilet today. What was the first store I thought of to fix it? Home Depot, Lowe's, OSH? Nope! My first thought was my favorite, dependable Pacific ACE Hardware store! Usually, there are swarms of help available immediately as you go in the store. Today, I could not find anyone. No problem, went to the front counter and they paged someone to help me. The salesman appeared immediately (try that at Home Depot!). He showed me the part I needed and instructed me on how to install it. You almost get the feeling that if you have problems, they want to come to your home to help you! When checking out, I saw something else I wanted to buy. Due to physical problems, I could not lift it. Again, no problem. Another page and a helpful person was there to bring the item to the register and out to my car. As a homeowner, I know things break. But for the 20 years I have lived in town I know that I can always get help at Pacific ACE Hardware. Their prices are about the same as the big box stores, and sometimes way cheaper! But you can't put a price on the help you get here when something in your home needs fixing!!! Once I thought I needed to buy a new faucet. But the salesperson showed me how to fix the broken part. ACE lost a $50+ sale when the parts to fix my faucet only cost $5, but they gained immeasurable loyalty points! I do buy at the other hardware stores, but only when I know ACE doesn't carry what I need (which is rare). Save yourself some frustration, go to Pacific ACE Hardware first! read more

Amazing selection of hard to find hardware items (but not nursery items like plants). Their selection of hardware items is amazing. We were looking for cotter pins. Unable to find this anywhere at the big box hardware stores, yet this store happens to have every size imaginable. Nice old town atmosphere, the way hardware stores used to be and should be. Ace hardware memories are of my dad taking me with him to pick up a screw he needed, or my mom walking in for specific gardening supplies. Now my reasons for Ace hardware is to pick up basic supplies for DIY crafts and projects. As soon as I walked in I was greeted right away and asked if I needed help. I was looking for some washers and nuts and from what I thought was a small store ended up being a huge surprise back area where I was brought to the holy grail of rows upon rows of screws, nuts, bolts, etc. I was so pleased with the experience and makes me happy that any Ace hardware is just an awesome place to go for hardware even if a bigger retailer would have more options...you come here because you know that you'll get the service to go with your purchase! read more

We have lived in Vacaville for 25 years, and I love this store. My husband is a great "do-it-yourselfer" and I can't count how many projects he's been in the middle of that he sends me here for something. And I know nothing. From a picture on his phone, they have been able to help me every time! Yesterday we were trying to match stain for our dining room table, and the guy in the paint department was so helpful - try to get that at Lowe's or Home Depot! That's why we shop here. If they had everything Lowe's and Home Depot have, we would never go anywhere else. But, sadly, they don't carry tile, flooring, etc. so we end up at the "big box" stores for those items. But on a daily basis, you can't beat this store. The salespeople are super knowledgeable and have always been willing to help! I'm so glad this store is in town! read more

As I walked in the store, Dave saw my look of wonder (since it was first time in the very large store) and helped me immediately. I just don't know how I feel about this store, but this is my first experience. My friend told me that this store had a Yetti Rambler that I wanted so I decided to do an online order. I normally always do online orders because I really need the flexibility to walk in, pick up my order and leave. Even with store procedure the whole process should take less than 5 minuets. I do online pick up all over town and this was by far the worst experience! I got there and told them that I was there to pick up an order that was ready the day before. There is no clear place where you pick up online orders. The lady gets on the walkietalkie and says "Young man, theres an online order for pick up. She says its a cup" And I wait. In the mean time, several customers have checked out. She calls "Young Man" again and I'm still waiting. At this point 15 minuets have gone by. They even had enough time to get coffee from starbucks and come back and hand them out and I STILL dont have my online pick up! Finally, the lady decides to "Go check on it herself". Come to find out that she only had the cup and not the second piece... so my order wasn't even ready. *I* had to help her find the part I needed. Then I think 'Great, I can get my cup and Go!" I already paid online. But she stands around shuffling papers for at least 5 more min. I ask her if I can just show her my ID so that I can leave and she tells me "Im sorry, there are just processes in place". I've been waiting for 20 min already. She didn't know how to process the order. If I didn't already pay online for the rambler I would have just picked one up and been on my way. I noticed that they were right in the front. I had to pick half my order myself anyway since it wasn't even ready. I'm sure that this store is fantastic. The reviews seem nice. The customers being helped were very happy. I just think they may need to prefect their online services. Or don't offer them at all. That way customers like me, wont bother. They seem to be doing just fine with their walk in and shop around customers anyway. Good for them! Maybe I'll go back for my next project and just know better... but probably not. I've always had great customer service every time I've been to this store. Unlike Lowe's or Home Depot, these folks at ACE actually want to help you. Crazy concept, right? Needless to say the customer service I received from Ian this past Saturday went above and beyond. I had a splitter hose for my gas BBQ that no one had a replacement for. Ian actually pulled separate parts, used some of mine that were still fine to use and put it all together. Needless to say, he saved me a whole lot of time trying to solve this problem. I love to use my gas BBQ and this put me in a bad mood knowing no one had the exact part. This is the type of customer service that is rare in this day and age. My husband and I went to Lowes to buy paint for our baby's nursery. We wanted a nice gray color, but it ended up looking very lavender. I decided to use BM paint for the redo and this is the only location near me that carries it. I made three separate trips to buy samples and the actual paint I settled on. Each visit a different person helped me. All three people were so friendly and helpful. They discussed colors with me and really made me feel at ease with my decisions. I forget the names of the two gentleman who helped me but the very last person to assist me was Natalie. She was great! I will go to this location for all of my hardware and home improvement needs from now on. Customer service is stellar here. read more

I came into this store because I had an issue with my dryer not staying shut and realized the clasps were broken. After not finding a solution wandering around the store on my own I approached an employee and they were beyond helpful. They asked all the right questions to help assess what the best solution would be. Turns out they didn't have exactly what I needed and gave me a recommendation for another store to visit and guided me through how to fix it.
