I love Ace Hardware. I found such a deal on patio umbrellas, that I purchased two. One for the pool and one to move around with a base. Already a fantastic deal, at $49.99 each. The base was only $29.99. When my husband went to set them up, they had solar lights. They upgraded me and didn't even brag about it! My family is thrilled. Always great service. Imagine getting off of work. Having a nail in your tire... driving around to many tire shop being told to come back tomorrow because they just closed. Ignoring this issue my husband and I drive to Ace hardware 30 minutes before they closed. To find Milwaukee heated sweater for a Christmas gift. Little did we know they are not sold in store. Luckily for us Ryan seen we were in trouble and took the time to explain how he can help. He special order these Milwaukee heated sweaters for us. On top of that we were having issues with our mail box lock and when we asked he knew exactly what section and which lock I was inquiring! For that, I just would like to say that interaction made our night. Today when I came to Ace Hardware store I was profiled by your store while attempting to get a replacement car key made. I thought I was getting good service when I walked in but then I realized I was being looked at before service was provided. My friend came into Ace hardware store in Vacaville and was told we have that key and it would be $125 to replace I was excited so I came in today and was told it was 215 by one of your workers, at first that was too much after I was told it was less. I came back a second time with my military ID, and DL to show who I was, so they would not think I was stealing someone's car. I was informed by the first person to go stand by the keys to having a replacement, someone came over and immediately stated that she was not qualified to do it. So I waited for the next person she came over and looked at my key, took it over to the other side, and came back and said I was told they do not make the keys for my car and that it needs to be programmed. While this statement was made another coworker came over to pretend as if she was looking for something just to see who I was which was very obvious and made me feel very uncomfortable. My friend that came in on my behalf is white, and I am AA. Now the person that help me was nice but I knew I was being profiled so just to let you know I am putting this on yelp and would appreciate telling your coworkers that is not the way you do business. read more

You can find everything from typical hardware items to rare, new and unique items; such as The Worlds Smallest collection! If you are hungry they can easily whip up some popcorn to munch on while you shop! They also sell some other tasty snacks! What. I like most is that from the outside this store appears to be a small to mid size building; but inside is like a magical Bag of Holding! Every time you think you have reached the back of the store, there is yet another room, and another! It's huge inside! I'm still not sure how far back it really goes! I just had the most miserable experience in 40 years of coming to this store with an ACE associate. I asked one associate about a toilet tank filler valve, thinking that one was shorter than after filler. He indicated he did not know and call another associate to help since he had more experience than him. He asked the newly arriving associate the same question, I had asked him. The older/other associate stated to me, " It is an height adjustable filler, can't you read " paraphrase, I told him " To just go away, I do not need your help. This type of treatment, I have never experienced before, no matter type of question/s, I have had. It's a damn shame workers here profile. I work in retail so I know exactly what he was doing. As I was looking for batteries I looked at him and he didn't say anything. He just stops near me and ask everyone they're doing ok that walked by him. Not once he ask me if I'm ok or needed help. He just stood there until I walked to the cashier. For the most part I like coming here but today I got Chuck. I was looking for a ballast for my kitchen lights and took a pic of what I thought was part number. He said that number was old and wouldn't help with figuring out which ballast was needed. Then he asked how many tubes there were. Didn't understand what he was asking. I said there were 4 light bulbs and showed him the picture. And then he said he needed to know the length of the "tubes". I told him I just came there to find out what info I needed. During last weeks heat wave my A/C unit stopped in the middle of the night. I called 6 places that listed they were open 24/7; only one called me back (they will get their own review). It was the capacitor that needed to be replaced (a friend helped), we went to Pacific Ace Hardware in Vacaville and they had the part; not the exact same one but one that would do the trick for sure. I stood at the door way as I watched my daughter walked in with a bad knee and hip, she went straight to the Key counter, no one was there but in a distance 4 employees just talking it up did not Knowledged her so she approached them. She was told to go to the register and they would make the Key then she ended up back at the Key counter. She had a blank key already and was told that she has to purchase a blank Key from them for her to just have 1 Key made. My understanding is that ACE is an employee business it lacks customer service and empathy to customers. I don't recommend this place! read more

I went here because I needed small supplies for my Physics project, and to my surprise the worker there helped me build it practically and gave me all my screws FOR FREE. He was just over the top nice, and I wish I got his name. (Service) You see the owner of Ace working there all the time, and he along with all the other workers are just so nice. They're all so sweet and more than willing to help you, I wish I could bear hug all of them--especially the person who helped me build my project. (Price) Pretty decent prices, I like it better here than the other hardware stores because you don't feel like you are forced to buy bulk items. It's also more homey.
