I stood at the door way as I watched my daughter walked in with a bad knee and hip, she went straight to the Key counter, no one was there but in a distance 4 employees just talking it up did not Knowledged her so she approached them. She was told to go to the register and they would make the Key then she ended up back at the Key counter. She had a blank key already and was told that she has to purchase a blank Key from them for her to just have 1 Key made. My understanding is that ACE is an employee business it lacks customer service and empathy to customers. I don't recommend this place! read more

A HUGE shout out to Pacific Ace Hardware for their generous donation to the 2014 Napa Valley Tour de Cure! Great service, better prices and friendly staff! Let them help you with all of your needs! Ask for Scott! The plants and flowers have arrived and are beautiful! It smells like Spring! read more

This is the best hardware store in VV. There is no comparison to the big stores. The employees here are very helpful. They help you find stuff and they tell you how to do simple tasks. They really know what they're talking about. Here you won't spend an hour looking for things. I find that I get in and out quickly and efficiently which I appreciate. read more

There are always people ready to answer your questions. Some of the people who work there used to be contractors that worked on the homes in Vacaville for years so they know specifically what parts you need and how your home was built. There is no where else I would go if I was looking for parts to fix or build something in or outside of my home. These people are awesome! read more

I had some bad paint karma and Ian was extremely nice and helpful. I work with customers daily and can really appreciate excellent customer service. Our ACE is the best there is. If you need it, they have it. Thanks to Ryan for mixing new paint and walking it to my car. Great customer service and the whole staff is polite and courteous. They say hi to you when you walk in!! read more

In general, Ace Hardware is going to be a better experience than going to Home Depot or Lowe's. Their customer service is amazing. I remember an occasion two years ago: I was trying to scrounge together a particular nut/bolt combo for an older german automobile, and I didn't want to wait for the big auto parts distributors to get it together. I spent at least 15 minutes in the aisle with one of the associates looking through the boxes. Everything is organized--that wasn't the problem. The problem was that this was a difficult issue to resolve. Anyways, that's just one example. If you absolutely need to save $0.67 on an item, I guess you can go to Lowe's or Home Depot. To me, it's worth spending a few extra bucks in order to have a good shopping experience. read more

I have been patronizing this store for more than 40 years. It is without a doubt the best store in the area for whatever you need for residential and commercial applications. The staff consists of professionals from various fields of expertise, such as plumbing, electrical, paint, etc. Try and find that at the big box stores. If they don't have it, you probably don't need it. read more

The best customer service I've ever had in my entire life! I worked retail for 8 years and I've never seen a store go above and beyond for their clients like Ace does. I couldn't find printer paper and found out they actually don't sell any here (shocking because they have everything) so one of the sales associates went into the managers office (got managers approval) and cold me their brand new package of printer paper so I didn't have to go to another store. I love this place so much! The people that work here are the heart and soul of Vacaville thank you all for being so exceptional every time I shop read more

This place is my new favorite store. It is great there. The people are amazing, every single one of them. They are available and helpful. You don't have to look for help, they find you. They always have plenty of people working to take care of their customers. And they have so many unique items that you don't see anywhere else. A whole lot of products that I didn't even know I needed but now I want. Great store, must see! read more

Always amazing customer service people willing to help and If they don't have it they try to find where you can locate what you need absolutely appreciate that. Keep up the great work ace read more

I can't believe I'd never been here prior today. Whenever I needed tools to anything of the sort, I would normally just default to Home Depot or Lowe's. But today I couldn't find what I needed there so they referred me to Ace Hardware. I've gotta say, after coming here, I am never going anywhere else! . I think Scott noticed I looked a little lost and asked if he could help. I tend to feel dumb at stores like this because I don't know much about tools or what things are called. He never once made me feel stupid. He helped look at the picture I brought in and picked everything out that I needed for my project. As many times as I've been to Lowe's and Home Depot, I've never once gotten service like that. Scott alone is reason enough for me to come back every time. Plus I didn't realize how big the store was until I actually went inside. I honestly wished I had started coming sooner. I saw so many things I had bought over the last few months for prior projects. Needless to say, I signed up for the rewards program and plan on returning soon. Thank you Scott! read more

Drawer slide broke the day before xmas eve Went to Home Depot and the clones there walked around the store with me for 30 mins and still couldn't find a replacement From HD - my husband and went to Lowes who also didn't have a replacement however the clerk suggest we try Ace Hardware in Vacaville. Her quote was , " If they don't have it doesn't exist." Fast forward to xmas eve morning - I braved to drive to Vacaville Ace Hardware store ---I was greeted by Owen the store manager who worked with me for 25 mins trying different solutions ---- and yes they had the part. While Im happy I found the part without my husbands help - I was delighted with my personalized friendly and professional service Owen provided me. read more

Went to Dodge to duplicate a car key. Estimated cost was above $200 and we would of had to leave the car there all day. Went to Ace and got a car key duplicated and programed for $80 in 10 minutes! Very helpful employees, cute store. Thank you!!! read more

This is an amazing store - customer service is better than almost any store you'll find - especially Todd in the paint department. 10 years ago we had bought an exterior paint for our house from another Ace - and it faded in a way that wasn't the best. Todd - WHO IS A PAINT GURU - got us the color we wanted - but with a formula that won't fade. He is so amazing with his knowledge of paint and how it will last over the years on your home. REALLY LOVE THIS STORE and am very grateful for TODD!!! read more

I've always been able to walk out of here with exactly what I need and today was a prime example. After wasting my time for over an hour trying to find what I was looking for at one of the big "box" stores (it was closer)...I came to ACE. Mario greeted me right away and helped me with I needed. He quickly figured out they don't make exactly the part I needed but he knew what would work...he darted off and found everything I needed. Great customer service and well worth the extra drive. P.S. Home project worked out perfectly. read more

I had some questions about the old stain that I had left over from a year ago, but the store where I bought the stain initially no longer carries the brand. I was directed to Pacific Ace Hardware when I called the manufacturer. It was the first time that I visited the store and was so impressed with the customer service that I received. Todd from the Paint Department was very knowledgeable about the product and was extremely helpful. While waiting to speak with him, a few employees also stopped to ask if I had been helped, something that I rarely experience in the big box stores. I also observed how well Todd treated other customers. This store was buzzing with customers when I got there around noon. It was nice to see a local business thriving. read more

I love this store. This last time that I went on Saturday the 20th of February I encountered a very rude cashier. Unfortunately it really dampened my experience at your store. I just had a simple question and she acted as if I was an idiot and rolled her eyes. She was a young lady with long brown hair and her name was odella I think. I know next time when I'm at your store if she's the cashier I encountered I will wait next for the next cashier. read more

Every time I come in, there are regulars who come in and every employee in the store knows their name. Reminds of me of the small town hardware stores you see in movies. This store even has that feel to it. Currently going through some renovations, this store has what you won't find at Home Depot or Lowe's; tentative, caring employees that will probably go out of their way to make sure you get what you're looking for. Amazing customer service; I find it rare nowadays to find an establishment where every single employee is very genuine when they ask a customer, "Can I help you find anything?" and are warm and personable. Refreshing. read more

Chances are, if you needed it, Ace had it. I remember coming here as a young child through my early adulthood with my father to help him with various projects around the house. This place was my candy store. I had so much fun browsing all the tools, checking out the gardening stuff, and just wandering around looking at chains and ropes. I guess I was easily amused, but this place will always hold a special place in my heart. The staff was always so kind, tolerable of my browsing, and always quick to help us locate a mystery item. Thanks for being awesome! read more

Okay, as a shade-tree mechanic and part-time home fixer-upper who grew up on a ranch, I know my way around a hardware store. The typical experience goes like this: the staff doesn't care about you- because they wish that instead of selling the equipment, they were getting paid to use it... but unfortunately they tried being paid to use it and weren't good at that. Hence, hardware store employees usually aren't too helpful/cool. At Pacific hardware, service is their specialty. Even if you are buzzing around the store finding everything that you need exactly when you need it, they'll still ask you if they can help you. Nothing better than a bunch of pros who want you to leave with a smile- you won't find many like this. read more

Paint matching experience: the paint staff is great, they were perfectionists when it came to matching a complex paint color that I took to them. I didn't have to ask for perfection, they simply took it on themselves. They were really nice and accommodating. Contrast this with the non-help I got from Home Depot. I try, now more than ever, not to go to Home Depot - and this paint experience seals the deal. Go local. read more

Came in to buy a new Traeger grill. Staff was super helpful and informative, especially Mel! For being a much smaller store than Home Depot, they're selection of products is impressive. They also have just about every Traeger accessory you can think of, definitely coming back. read more

They put a sign out front requiring people to wear masks while in the store. (Finally!) I don't know why they didn't do that back in April.

Mixed feelings on this store. On one hand, I love to support local business and so this is my go to store. But, I am working on a project in the backyard and really needed to finish it before my trip. I special ordered what I needed and was told it would be here today. So, I worked everything out so that when the piece arrived, I could finish the project and move on. I just found out that even though I thought it was ordered, the part was never ordered. Someone dropped the ball and now the next truck doesn't come until Monday. I leave on Saturday -- this is not good. I counted on them and they let me down. Other times you can get a really great sales person that knows exactly how to help you and sometimes you get a crabby old man that is no help at all. But they love to talk. Sometimes the cashier is a little clueless, that's happened a few times, but other times my experience has been absolutely wonderful. The thing about this place is you never really know what to expect. read more

Went there because they said they would price match Ace Hardware in Davis on 4 bags of soil (wanted to keep business local). When I got to the register the lady asked "who did you talk to?" , told her I don't remember. Then said "mom!". A lady named Donna came over and looked at the screen (never looked up at me) and said "I didn't authorize this". Then they both looked at me and stared... "guess I'll go put this back?" I said. Donna walks away the other lady says "next!". Should've gone to Home Depot. read more

Knowledgeable--journeyman-level knowledgeable in many cases--salespersons among the staff. They've provided invaluable advice on numerous projects that I've undertaken since moving to Vacaville. I'm from the San Francisco mid-peninsula area, and we didn't have any stores like this in the area. We had only big-box retailers and professional building suppliers who couldn't be bothered to do anything more than invoice your purchase and process the payment. One more of the countless things that makes me happy that we decided to relocate our family to this wonderful community. I actually feel a sense of community every time I set foot into Pacific Ace Hardware. The hand tool selection is on point. Whoever is doing the purchasing for this store really knows about professional grade hand tools. They even keep a good selection of Stiletto Titanium hammers in stock and lots of other premium, professional's choice tools that I would love to own. Stabila levels, Occidental Leather tool pouches and Kline electrician hand tools are a few good examples of the level of quality on hand here. read more

We actually live much closer to Lowe's, but our family will always go to Pacific Ace Hardware instead for any home or garden stuff. They are incredibly helpful. No matter how inarticulate you are about the part you need (I'm not exactly Mr. Fix-it) they can always figure it out. You also don't have to wait forever to get any help like you do at the big box places. Locally owned, friendly, always have what you need. read more

Susan, Ramon, Kirk and Tom have been soooo helpful. I am recently widowed and having to figure a lot out on my own- Ace has fantastic help

I want to thank Mike and Todd for their help a couple of weeks ago. Went to Lowe's and Home Depot looking for paint that matches my favorite NFL team and found no luck. When I called Ace, Mike told be to bring in a sample and the computer would match it. I have been subsequently told that both Lowe's and Home Depot should have the same service but their employees never mentioned or offered the service. I went in and Todd told me he wouldn't let me leave without the right paint color. In 10 minutes, that's exactly what happened. Had the paint color I wanted. I also went in near closing time and I offered to just return the next day. Todd would have none of it. As I was one of the last customers in the shop, I was never rushed or even pushed out. I sometimes forget about my local Ace but that won't happen again. Customer service has this store #1 in my book and I will be giving them more of my business because of it. read more

Stopped here yesterday. Many people in the store with masks not fully covering their nose and mouth. This virus is not a joke. Ace needs to do a better job enforcing this State mandate. I will not be coming back to this store anytime soon. read more

I came here on today, Christmas Eve, and it was a joy shopping in here. I came in very early, the staff was in such good spirits and so helpful. Someone wrote that you can find all your Pinterest needs here...I AGREE!! This place is like a Pinterest treasure chest!!! Don't let the small storefront turn you away..this place is huge..it goes way back and there have so much inventory. I am an avid baker and they have every little cooking implement that I could ever need. I'm so happy this wonderful place is in my hometown. To boot, the customer service is so great, everywhere I turned there was someone asking if I needed assistance. At the big box stores I have to virtually hunt and employee down but at Pacific Ace Hardware they practically fall over themselves trying to make sure you find exactly what you need at the right price. Thank you Pacific Hardware for ending my Christmas shopping on a wonderful note!! Merry Christmas! read more

Always helpful, and sometimes there is free popcorn. The Mckenzie's are just great people too.

The employees are knowledgeable, helpful, non-judgmental, and plentiful. I have gone in (or even called), given a general description of an item (or what it goes to and what I intend it to do), and the employees will undoubtedly give me the name of the object, and take me to where I can find it (or put the item on hold at the register). If there is a selection, they are more than willing to help me figure out which one I need. They always know what I'm talking about (even when I don't), and are able to send me home with the correct part. Going in may not be super quick (they have a lot of stuff, and I almost always get caught up in the housewares or gardening sections), but it is almost certainly painless. And I'm sure that if you know what you are looking for, or at least don't get sidetracked, it is a much faster shopping experience. October of last year, I called to see if they had a 5-quart hand-crank ice cream churn. They had it. The man I spoke with found it on a back self, put it on hold for me at the register, and I was able to pull up, purchase it, and be on my way in minutes. read more

I have been here several times for, um, supplies and implements. their selection is huge and all-encompassing and there are usually a good number of people around to help answer all your questions. this last time I needed a deadbolt and asked to have it keyed the same as my house key. It took a little longer than I had time for so the cashier offered to DROP IT OFF on her way home! talk about going over and above with service. (it helped that my work was on her route home i think) She said they closed at 7 and it was dropped off well before that. what a nice surprise! read more

Came in before the start of the pandemic to buy my wife some N95 masks because I knew they would have a shortage eventually at her job. They had 2 boxes left for $75 per box! For a box of 20. Ryan in the paint department Today was incredibly patient. He was knowledgeable, he explained things to many different customers, seemingly at the same time.
