Enjoyed a dinner here on a Monday evening. It was obviously a popular choice as we waited for 35 minutes for a table for 3. You could tell the wait staff was busy, but they made sure to always check in on us. Calamari app was delicious and soooo tender. Caesar salad was good, but I would get extra dressing on the side if you like your Caesar salad as dressed as I like mine (to the tensss ). Salmon was over cooked on my sandwich, but I was so full from everything else that I didn't even bother to say anything. I am positive they would have taken care of it - so this is to no fault of their own. Aloha sandwich with fried chicken - fries extra crispy - oh my goodness. So delicious. Great atmosphere in here with attentive staff. It's a cozy space and have never had a bad meal here. The pizzas are made in house and have never let me down. Burgers and sandwiches are also always a great choice as well. The only "negative" (kidding) to Over the Falls, is their menu is so big that it always takes me a little bit longer to decide what to order. They recently stopped allowing patrons to wait in the lobby for their table, which I appreciate. Now they'll simply send you a text when your table is ready. We usually check in, then walk next door to Strike and Barrel for a drink at their bar while we wait for our table at Over the Falls to be ready. Our most recent trip, the bartender recommended some options for both of us that we accepted, and we were sure glad we did. He also let us know something that we had never noticed on the menu. You can have any item under the burger menu made with with grilled or fried chicken instead of beef. So that triples the number of options to choose from now. We might have to study the menu before we get in the car next time! Overall, its a great local spot with a very consistent kitchen and bar. Give it a shot, and you won't be disappointed. We were seated within 25 minutes of checking in which was fair considering it was lunch time on a Saturday. We started with cocktails from their bar menu and they did not disappoint. Had lunch here today - overall, a really nice experience and good food. The only drawback was the service was quite slow and our server (who was sweet) was quite inattentive. We started with sweet potato fries, the small portion was quite large. The fries were yummy and the sriracha dip with them was good, but a bit too spicy for me. Hubby had the tomato basil soup, it was quite good, flavored well and a bit more on the chunky side texture-wise. We both had salads for our main entree - my husband had the cobb with blackened chicken and cilantro ranch dressing. He really liked it. I chose the market salad with grilled chicken and poppyseed vinaigrette. The dressing was a bit too sweet so I used it sparingly. The salad greens were an ok mix. Overall, good food, wish service had been quicker and we didn't have to wait so long for drinks, food, and our bill. read more

Our table had blackened shrimp & andouille sausage with cheesy grits, spinach salad with fried shrimp, Caesar salad with grilled shrimp, and chicken salad wrap with coleslaw. All of it was delicious. The interior is very cozy; the tables have paper to color on, which our kids absolutely love! The food came out quick and hot and our server was incredibly kind and helpful. Great casual place to go for dinner in Wake Forest. They have everything for everyone! Wings, pizza, burger, soups, salads, wraps, quesadillas, steak, spaghetti, fish, and more. I love their burgers and they're better than some other burger places around. I also love their pizza! They make it the the way I like it: not greasy! Their wings are pretty good too but the chicken tenters are definitely not my favorite (the corn meal breading was weird, chicken was dry). Cons: there's usually a very long wait time to get seated, and they didn't allow us to bring my friend's bday cake inside so we had to go somewhere else for dinner that night. Headed out for lunch today, my husband decided on Over the Falls because we had such a great experience in our last visit. During our last visit, we had chicken wings, fries, loaded baked potatoes, and more items. It was absolutely delicious ! In this visit, we had to call in our order for pickup. Upon doing so we ordered the 8 piece chicken tenders, French fries, and sweet tea with no ice. My husband highly disliked the French fries, as it tasted more stale. When I initially took a bite; I thought it was good but then also realized it tasted more stale, or similar to it being frozen and quickly thrown in grease. A little difficult to explain. In all, it wasn't a good taste. I'm not sure how French fries cannot taste good. The chicken tenders were not good either. He ate one chicken tender and that was it. They also came with bread crumbs on the tenders, and resembled fish sticks. I have never seen any Restaurant serve chicken tenders in this manner. My husband stated he didn't want to waste the food so he instead really tried eating it for the sake of not wasting money, but he could not finish because of the dissatisfaction. Reluctantly, I called the Restaurant to explain the situation and see if we could have a replacement meal for the next day since we live almost 25 minutes away. After explaining what happened to the first employee, she told me to "hold on" and transferred me to another employee, which was most likely a manager. After explaining to her the situation again, she stated that is how their chicken tenders come, and stated the fries were made fresh. She even mentioned she could show me camera footage of the cook making the fries. While I do appreciate her for going to that extent, we both know that was not necessary. I asked if we could have a replacement meal if we bring in the old meal for the next day, and she told me no. I asked what was the protocol or standard procedure when customers are dissatisfied and disappointed, and she stated when that occurs, there is nothing that they do if the customer does not like their meal. She did offer half off for a future meal. We did not accept this offer since at this point it seemed more of a hassle than genuine concern. Not wanting to spend more money, since we had just spend $19.00 in an addition to a $5.00 tip, he resulted to Apple Jacks for his dinner. While the 1st experience was great, we most likely won't be returning since their customer service was not at the level of a Chick Fil A team member. read more

Hate to post a negative review for a place I've enjoyed for years, but OTF really fell down tonight. Note: Food was still great - probably the only place south of Buffalo that you an get real roast beef on weck; and the beer was cold and delicious. Server was charming, but on the young side. The issue was technology - kind of like air... you don't even think about until you don't have any of it. First, no wi-fi, either on the computer or the phone. Network shows up, but produces only the spinning beach ball of death. Okay, a minor annoyance, but it should be a utility, like electricity. The major issue was attempting to pay with a debit card that their system couldn't process (3 times!!!!). Fortunately, I had enough cash, but that is usually not the case. Because I was concerned about the card, I went straight to the ATM, where the card worked perfectly. Which means it was their system that was defective. Again, a disappointment. read more

The food is still good and the ambience is OK. I have to say that their success is really getting to be a turn off. As an example when we understand that it's over a holiday we were told it was a 35 to 40 minute wait to get a table for six. that turned into a 58 minute wait, and then we overheard someone saying well we tried to get everybody in and out and that's why we have a 90 minute time limit for each table. Well, that's one thing to say but when it takes your server 5 to 10 minutes to get to your table because they're busy and then you force a fun the time limit down the rest of the schedule, food, service drinks, etc. well we still enjoy going there. I'm sorry to say, but I will not be rushed so they can turn tables. And while we used to go there several times a month the lengthy delays to get him and then be rushed to get out of the table within 90 minutes, especially when you're paying a good amount to eat and drink is a little bit too much to ask at sometimes. read more

Over the Falls in Downtown Wake Forest serves brunch now. The restaurant is located in the shopping center with Dollar General and the Renaissance Centre. Brunch is served from 10am-2pm Saturdays and Sundays. The lunch menu is available to order from as well. The restaurant has a Niagara Falls theme but also includes some Wake Forest history. I ordered the French toast trifecta and that came with a choice of meat and a side. It was a lot of food and I liked how there were choices so I could pick the side and meat I wanted. The French toast temperature made me think the food was sitting for a while before brought to the table. If it was still warm when it arrived, I would have given OTF 5 stars. Service was really good here and our waitress kept checking on us. I will returning to Over the Falls again to try some of the other menu offerings. I ordered the Fried Shrimp Platter and the kids Mac n Cheese. Service was great and food was good despite having a pieces of hair wrapped up in my fried shrimp. I ate two shrimp before catching it.... They did offer to bring me a new Fried Shrimp Platter and the manager came over to apologize. Food 10/10 Drinks 10/10 Atmosphere 9/10 (the food looks so good but it's kinda dark to really admire lol- dark vibe is still a vibe tho) Service 11/10 (the staff are the BEST and most attentive folks I've ever met. You can't make a reservation, you can't wait in the lobby or bar for a table ( they tell you to wait in your car..lol). You can't be seated if even one person is not there.. even if they are parking the car. They made our 85 year old parents, that can hardly walk, wait to be seated bc my husband was parking the car. And finally.. the bar. The actual bar itself is part of structured seating so you can't sit in open seats at the bar unless you get on the list. So forget getting a drink.. I have been here a few times in the past and absolutely loved my meals/service. The service was good as always yesterday! The host was sweet and our server was very attentive. If I was just rating on service, they would get 5 stars! Now onto the meal. We ordered the buffalo chicken dip (which, at $13, I think is a little over priced). It had a good flavor, but it was soooooo greasy that it made it almost hard to eat. My boyfriend ordered a burger and I ordered the caprese melt. I was especially excited for my caprese melt! My boyfriend said his burger was good, but his complaint was that the fries were a bit bland. My caprese melt lacked a lot of the flavor I was expecting it to have. I couldn't really taste any basalmic or basil in it, which is what I was most excited for. Overall, the food was okay.
