Quick service and the pizzas we ordered were terrific, will go back next time we're in NC.

We live in North Raleigh but regularly do our shopping in Wake Forest because it's so convenient,…read moreand once we're there, everything is close by, including lunch. The two of us eat at Over the Falls regularly and always enjoy it. I'm honestly surprised I hadn't written a review before. Lunch for two came to $65.80 + tax and tip, and there was more than enough food. I ordered one of my two favorites: the Ahi Tuna Pita (the other favorite is the blue cheese burger). I paired it with a side salad and blue cheese dressing, plus an unsweetened iced tea with lemon. My wife ordered The Barrel, their Philly cheesesteak, with a side of sweet potato fries. We also shared an order of house-made potato skins. It was far too much food, in a good way, and we took plenty home. Service was outstanding and truly a team effort. One moment stood out: when my wife hesitated to ask for sour cream for the potato skins, our server immediately said, "It's just 15 steps, let me get it for you." That small gesture made a big difference. The rest of the team was equally warm, friendly, and attentive. The ambiance works perfectly for us, lively, busy, and welcoming without feeling chaotic. I would be confident ordering virtually anything from the menu. We'll keep coming back.

Outstanding Wake Forest Eatery…read more Over the Falls features award-winning Specialty Salads, Sandwiches, Burgers, Pizza, Wings & Entrees; plus 12 Craft Draft Beers along with an Extensive Bourbon List, Handcrafted Cocktails & Mules. It's always crowded, does not accept reservations and does not have a bar or inside waiting area. You must register with the hostess, then wait outside (or in your car) until you receive a text that your table is ready. While this is inconvenient and unpleasant, the mouthwatering food is worth the trouble. One of our favorites is the Three Sisters Salad- which includes a generous scoop of either House-made Chicken Salad, Avocado Chicken Salad or Tuna Salad (we chose the Avocado), plus a large mound of Broccoli Salad, Fresh Fruit and a Flakey Honey-drizzled Croissant. Another winner was the Flash-fried Calamari & Banana Peppers. The substantial serving of Rhode Island Calamari was crispy, oh so tender and perfectly seasoned - with Thai Chili and Marinara dipping sauces. We also recommend the Cali Pastrami Sandwich and the Bacon & Cheddar Cheeseburger. Both come with a Pickle & either House-Made Potato Chips, Tortilla Chips, French Fries, Macaroni Salad or Cole Slaw. The NY Navel Pastrami was topped with Fried Onions, Habanero Jack Cheese, Chipotle Mayo and Avocado and piled high on a flaky, chewy golden brown Pretzel Roll. The big juicy Burger included Lettuce, Tomato, Red Onion and several slices of crispy Bacon.

This no-frills bar is perfect for those that just want to hang out and eat good food. I haven't been to a low-key bar like this before and I loved it. Everyone knows each other and they're all just out for a nice time out. It is an older group, definitely a local's place. There's one pool table that's coin operated if you want to play a round. They also offer karaoke if you're brave enough. Our waiter was awesome, super easy going and nice. Not to mention, he brought me a second tea before I was halfway done with my other one! That right there is an immediate extra star on my review. We all ordered hamburgers. I had the candied bacon and jalapeño cheeseburger with sweet potato fries. It was delicious! I can't believe I've been in WF for almost 3 years and have never tried Mackey's but I will definitely be back. If you want a good dinner with a relaxed atmosphere, Mackey's is a great choice. Okay, I can leave and come back. Came back and placed an order. Love the 100 percent sanitation and the friendly gentleman who works the window. They give you a pager. It was another 15 minute or so wait for my six wings with sweet spicy pineapple sauce. When I picked up the order (after having to wait for someone else to order again), I was offered ranch or bleu cheese dressing with it. Ranch for this Gal. Home I went to discover that the wings are breaded and fried. My personal preference is non-breaded, but my bad cause I didn't ask. I will say if you like breaded fried chicken these were well done. Maintained their crispiness even with the tasty sauce all over them. For some reason they gave me 7, which was nice. They were so rich, I saved a couple for the next day and of course the breading was soggy by then. But again, not their fault. They also have boneless wings and offered waffle fries as well. I heard them say they ran out of bone-in ones after me (maybe my free 7th was the last one). And they were out of mac and cheese. Hope that means they had a successful afternoon. I love supporting food trucks, especially ones with 100% sanitation.

Obviously, this is our first time, but what we got was amazing. We each got one of the lunch specials. She got boneless wings with the seasoned fries, and I got the wings with the radish. I got the sauce that starts with a "y", and she got half Korean BBQ and half the "Y" sauce. She enjoyed both of the sauces, but liked the BBQ one best. She also ordered one of those Korean "corn dogs" with cinnamon sugar on it, and the Kewpie mayo. I wouldn't get the pickled radish again, it's not what I've eaten elsewhere, but who cares when the wings were so awesome.........amazing........I think young people say they are fire......and they were. The fries were crispy, the wings crispy and well-sauced.......................and I cannot wait to go again. To top it off, our server, Madden, was wonderful. Not named after those guys from the band, Good Charlotte, but after John Madden! Since I know it can be good, let it be known while there if it's not.......because I'm pretty sure they'll make it right.

It's a typical Mexican restaurant menu, with all of the standards - tacos, burritos, etc. Warm chips and house-made salsa are served at seating. Drinks from the bar are huge. One of the specialty drinks needed re-made because it just wasn't right, but the margaritas are spot-on. Portions are big, food is fresh and served piping hot. Stuffed jalapeños were pretty good, but not sure they are house made. The shrimp burrito is STUFFED with plump, flavorful shrimp and vivid pico de gallo. Refried beans, rice all very good. Definitely will add to the rotation.

Our waitress was awesome, she was friendly and quick with the service. We ordered a couple of drinks and they were delicious. Unfortunately, those were the only two things we enjoyed about Aye Toro. The food was extremely bland, almost flavorless. When my husband and I took our first bites, we both looked up at each other and both knew exactly what the other was thinking. There was no spice, nothing. Mexican food is supposed to be flavorful but this was like...boiled chicken without the spices. For $17 for a plate of bland food, I was super disappointed and felt like I wasted $80 for the night (two meals and two margaritas with a 20% tip). When we come back for trivia, we might stop by for margaritas beforehand but I can't imagine Aye Toro staying in business if they keep serving flavorless meals. I know this review is harsh but spending that kind of money on this lackluster dinner is even harsher.

The New York Style Crust and savory Tomato Sauce come together to make the perfect hand-held, foldable Pizza. The expansive lineup of Pasta dishes are also right out of the Big Apple. Calzones, Strombolis, Hot Sandwiches, Cold Sandwiches, Appetizers, Salads and Deserts are all on the menu. If it's Italian, this Rolesville trattoria probably serves it. The one negative is that there is no inside seating. We were fortunate that the weather was beautiful on our first visit, and we were able to enjoy a bright sunny day at one of their outdoor tables. Otherwise this is one of the best take-out Pizzerias in the area. We enjoyed an 18" Pepperoni Pizzaand 10" Individual Pizza with Onions and Bell Peppers. Both were delicious - with just the right amount of savory Tomato Sauce and melty Mozzarella Cheese. Another favorite was the Penne Arrabiata Pasta with Black Olives and a Spicy Tomato Sauce. The Penne was cooked perfectly, the sauce tantalizing and the portion more than enough for two meals. My favorites are the Italian subs. Pie-Zano's sub rolls are everything a perfect roll should be: slightly sweet, slightly crispy on the outside, enough texture to provide a satisfying crunch when you bite into it and king-size. Any filling would taste great when stuffed inside one of these beauties. The Special Sub is crammed full of Ham, Salami, Provolone, Cappicola, Lettuce, Tomato, Onion and Banana Peppers and seasoned just right with classic Italian flavors, Olive Oil and Vinegar. A complete meal on a roll. The only item that we did not particularly enjoy was the Baked Spaghetti with Ricotta and Mozzarella. We found it to be rather bland, but were able to bring it to life with some oregano, basil, red pepper flakes and a drizzle of olive oil. This would be a perfect dish for the kiddies - and enough to feed two or three of them.
