Easily one of the best restaurants we've been to in the area! Had a family birthday celebration here and it was an amazingly great experience! Our server, Dawn, was easily one best servers I've had in a long time. Knowledgeable about the menu, made a point to explain everything and no questions were too obscure. We had a variety of dishes, and out of everything the pork schnitzel wasn't really a schnitzel if you've ever had one in Germany, it was more like a breaded, fried bone-in pork chop, really good but not a traditional schnitzel. The asparagus, the risotto, the pasta, the chicken were all absolutely superior. The stars were the appetizers, especially the kung pao fried Brussels, those are a meal by themselves, some of the best I've ever had! The fried burrata cheese, worth the drive to Wake Forest. Their Cherry cobbler one word: YUM! I really liked this place. The interior space was nice the servers were great. So why 3 stars? My main, the Pork Chop was dry and over cooked. It was literally like a roof shingle. After a couple bites I gave up. When the server came by and offered me a different entree. She recommended the Lamb Kebobs. They were also dry and tasteless. Everyone else in our party had great meals. The braised Short Rib was the star of the night. I will have to give this place a second try and see if I have better luck. read more

I don't know it's GREAT...lot of people using the word "great"...it was all right. The dishes rotate from what I understand so speaking on specific dishes seems pointless. We had one app (tuna poke nachos if you must know) that were very good, but everything else was sort of mid. The ideas are good...execution comes across a bit flaccid. Sooo disappointing. First time visit based on stars it should have been wonderful...NOT! Service was slow to come over then provided rushed interaction. Jackie did not describe the special, drink order wasn't correct and she seemed overworked. My ribs were old rewarmed and tiny-ring finger length, potatoes were not hot and fresh either. Lamb skewers were tiny and way overcooked, tough and tasteless. I feel sorry for Wake Forest if this is their idea of 4 and above stars. This was our first time here but now our favorite restaurant in Wake Forest. Great atmosphere and currently decked out for Christmas which I loved. Our server Kate is amazing and gave us great suggestions and made our evening even more special. The whole staff has a good vibe. I did not take photos in time to show off the presentation because I forgot as I was just enjoying the dining experience. I had a wedge salad with salmon and my husband enjoyed the sticky ribs. We ate here on the evening of 02/12/2026 and honestly this place is one of the great hidden gems in Wake County. We have eaten here a few times before but not in a couple of years. On this night we had decided not to have appetizers or dessert but stay with the main entrees. My wife chose the braised short ribs with a mashed potato base and broccolini . I had a previous favorite of Pork Schnitzel served over fettuccini with a pesto/ peppercorn sauce and arugula with a lemon vinaigrette These dishes were amazingly good and the helpings are very generous. Our server was prompt and friendly with a great knowledge of each dish. The ambiance is something like a rustic industrial feeling but you can see all types of dress from athletic leisure wear to more formal attire. Farm Table is located in Gateway Commons Shopping Center. Parking can be tight near the restaurant but the shopping center has plenty of parking with great lighting not too far away. The restaurant is always packed so make sure to make reservations if you can. The menu changes based on the season so you have an excuse for multiple dining trips here. The menu has a good variety of items to appeal to everyone's taste buds. On my last visit I had a chopped salad and added the shrimp. The shrimp came out in a small pan and not on the salad so I added them myself. I liked how all the flavors went together. I am looking forward to my next visit. read more

We stopped here while our kids were out of town. We had a salad, stuffed shrimp and the waitress recommended schnitzel and short ribs. The short ribs were just okay... needed more seasoning in my opinion but literally everything else was so delicious. We enjoyed the atmosphere. Really really enjoyed my dinner at tonight. As usual they never disappoint. I had the gypsy breeze cocktail and we all shared the torched feta appetizer. I had the bolognese for dinner which was made with mushroom agnolotti, a beef & pork ragù and cream. It was so delicious!! My son in law had the roasted cod. My daughter had the summer southwest salad appetizer as an entrée and had them add grill chicken to it. They were both happy with their dinners. This was one of those wow meals, from start to finish. They change their menu often to match what is in season and to utilize as much local as possible. We were drawn in by their current menu. Made reservations and had a delightful Saturday night experience. They have a nice variety of seating options. Tables, Booths, a good size bar. There's a patio room that's enclosed. All very nice. We were quite comfortable in our booth in the main dining room. Service was top-notch from the moment we were greeted with a smile, to our excellent Server and the friendly food runners. Drinks excellent. I enjoyed a nice pinot grigio with my meal, followed later by the world's most perfect dessert drink...a lemon pie martini. Yep. You heard that right. The stuff dreams are made of. Husband had a couple dirty martinis he was quite fond of. Food. YUM. We shared a steamed clam appetizer with an excellent spring onion cream-white wine sauce after they started us with a nice light foccacia with a very good olive oil. The only thing missing with the clams was grilled bread. It was crying out for it. Would have totally taken it over the top. Yes the foccacia was dippable but it didn't work as well as grilled sourdough would have matched with that dish. Entrees: Scallops with a beurre blanc sauce, veggie noodles and a tomato vinaigrette. The scallops could not have been seared and cooked better. They were scallop perfection. But I will say that the plating in a bowl rather than a plate watered down the beurre blanc to the point it might as well have not been there. The tomato on top with a tangy vinaigrette offered a nice acidity to the dish. Husband got the Pork Schnitzel with a pesto pasta and arugula. Very rich and he loved it. Both portions were generous enough that we both have leftovers. Especially love how well everything is seasoned and the usage of fresh herbs. Highly recommend! read more

My husband and I chose this restaurant because it was around the corner from our neighborhood. I read somewhere in a local Facebook group that someone recommended it for a good steak, without having to drive to Raleigh. While we didn't order the steak, the food did not disappoint. The ambience felt approachable, but do make reservations. Our waitress was friendly and kind. Our drinks were always full. I've heard good things about the chef here and we were really impressed with the fact that the drink and food menu changes. We left very happy knowing it will be our new date night spot. I don't normally eat pork chops but this was so good - Grilled Baby Back Ribs with an added side of smashed potatoes: my husband is very picky with ribs and this non-vinegar based set of ribs were so juicy and fresh, falling off the bone. I had a chance to check out this restaurant with some friends this weekend and was overall impressed! Our friend made a reservation the day before for 4 ppl and it was a good thing we did because it did seem pretty busy around the time we got there, which was 7 pm. Their drink menu was really diverse and interesting with a lot of seasonal beverages. I got the wedge Caesar salad and the sweet potato chicken sliders, as well as the pomme frites for the table. The fries are a very, very generous portion, definitely a big enough basket for 4 ppl to nibble on. The wedge Caesar was where it was at. It was HUGE and the flavors were amazing. The bacon is sweet and spicy at the same time, the tomatoes being cooked were bursting with flavor, and the dressing was a less traditional Caesar but delicious in its uniqueness. Although the restaurant is 25 minutes from me, I would drive just to get this salad again. Next time, I would probably add a protein and have the salad as my full meal. The chicken sliders come with three total and were okay. I think the bun to chicken ratio was a little off, as there was way more bun than chicken, and the buns especially were a little dry. I thought the chicken was tasty, but I likely would not order this again. The service was not the best. It took quite some time for us to be greeted and much longer to get our drinks, and in general just not the best. Still, I recognize many places are understaffed, and we had a great time talking and enjoying our food, so not a big deal. The food here is next-level. It's located in a shopping center, which seems unusual. It's small, but somewhat classy and casual at the same time. We were very comfortable there. For some reason, we had it in our head that this was a tapas place (we got it mixed up with another place we were considering), so we over ordered...by like a LOT. We ordered the watermelon salad, which was very refreshing, but you have to like kalamatas and feta -- that salty/sweet combo. I though it was great. We also ordered the house fries. They were shoestring (my favorite), well salted, sprinkled with scallions and fresh parmesan, and served in pretty large bowl. Way more than two people should ever eat in one sitting, and yet, we did. Absolutely, 100% addicting in every way. At this point, I was already full, but I had a large dinner heading my way....a pork chop with cider jus - heavenly. Pretty tender for a pork chop, too. The star was the mashed sweet potatoes though. Tasted like something from a very special Thanksgiving dinner. Sooooo comforting. Also came with collard greens with bacon, which was good, but not something I would normally eat. I'm not from the South, lol, but I'm always willing to give things a try. :) My husband went way outside of his comfort zone and ordered the grilled octopus with beans. I thought this sounded weird, too, but damn, it was good. Stole the show, honestly. It comes across as a Southern octopus stew, but thicker and had the perfect balance of spice. WHEN we go back, I will be ordering that dish, so I can have it all to myself!!! We recently had dinner for the second time at Farm Table, last time being in 2021. The dining room is still beautiful, we love the atmosphere. We shared the brussel sprouts as an app, and I had the pork schnitzel and my husband had the bacon mac and cheese with sirloin on the side. We enjoyed all of our food and our server was great. I ordered a cosmo and then an espresso martini at the end of the night. The only down side to our meal was how slow the bar was. I think they were understaffed and could not keep up with both the bar drinks and the drinks needed in the dining room. We received our appetizer before our drinks and then it took almost 20 minutes to get our dessert drink. Overall it didn't dampen our experience but staffing definitely needs to be adjusted for the bar read more

The first time, both myself and my husband ordered the Ribeye. Both were edible but the texture and flavor seemed lower quality. We were hoping for something decent from a place named "Farm Table". The broccoli was good. We also ordered the stuffed mushroom, this was delicious. The server was ok. She did all the standard server things that she was required to do, like take our order, but seemed uninterested in general. We were celebrating our 23rd anniversary and decided to try out a new to us restaurant. It's casual dining, right next to Gateway Tavern in the commons strip mall. I never realized that both places are owned by the same person. The place was smallish but pretty packed for a Sunday night. Glad we made reservations. We shared a grilled Caesar salad, it's huge so we each got plenty. I opted for the salmon which came with blackened rice-creamy goodness! And the sautéed spinach was a great touch as well. This is more of 2.5 stars. Second time and here and the first time was decent and thought maybe they were just off tonight or something. After this second time, seems like it's the norm. Farm table = fresh, but about half of your plate is fresh. We got the bolognese and the sauce is actually really good but the pasta is clearly just store bought. With a name like farm table, you'd think the pasta would be fresh made but ya it's not. The other dish we got was the bruschetta pasta and it was not good. So much vinegar, flavors way off, chicken nothing special, and again pasta clearly from a box. Definitely skip over this one. Also got an old fashioned and..... not very good. Old fashioned is supposed to be bourbon forward, this was just pure "let's make this super fruity and sweet", and the color of the drink when it came out should've warned me beforehand (it was purple). They do have some good flavors but they are definitely missing something to push them over where I'd go here on the regular, which sucks since we live so close to it. read more
