This is our new favorite restaurant! I love the atmosphere and the staff are all very knowledgeable and engaging. Elaine was our waitress and very helpful with suggestions and nice. The food is great and I love the way they've decorated for the holidays.

This was our first time here but now our favorite restaurant in Wake Forest. Great atmosphere and currently decked out for Christmas which I loved. Our server Kate is amazing and gave us great suggestions and made our evening even more special. The whole staff has a good vibe. I did not take photos in time to show off the presentation because I forgot as I was just enjoying the dining experience. I had a wedge salad with salmon and my husband enjoyed the sticky ribs. We started with cocktails and the fries appetizer which were delicious. We both indulged in dessert too which was with the calories too. Highly recommend. Cheers

Farm Table is located in Gateway Commons Shopping Center. Parking can be tight near the restaurant but the shopping center has plenty of parking with great lighting not too far away. The restaurant is always packed so make sure to make reservations if you can. The menu changes based on the season so you have an excuse for multiple dining trips here. The menu has a good variety of items to appeal to everyone's taste buds. On my last visit I had a chopped salad and added the shrimp. The shrimp came out in a small pan and not on the salad so I added them myself. I liked how all the flavors went together. I am looking forward to my next visit.

We stopped here while our kids were out of town. We had a salad, stuffed shrimp and the waitress recommended schnitzel and short ribs. The short ribs were just okay... needed more seasoning in my opinion but literally everything else was so delicious. We enjoyed the atmosphere. The staff were friendly and stopped by just enough times to make sure the food was good and to top off our drinks. The managers were constantly walking around and checking on each table as well. Everyone seemed happy and as if they enjoyed themselves while worked.

Torched feta appetizer

Really really enjoyed my dinner at tonight. As usual they never disappoint. I had the gypsy breeze cocktail and we all shared the torched feta appetizer. I had the bolognese for dinner which was made with mushroom agnolotti, a beef & pork ragù and cream. It was so delicious!! My son in law had the roasted cod. My daughter had the summer southwest salad appetizer as an entrée and had them add grill chicken to it. They were both happy with their dinners. They shared the chocolate raspberry mousse cake and I also ordered the same for myself Our waitress Kate was wonderful and the chef prepared delicious food as always.

My husband and I chose this restaurant because it was around the corner from our neighborhood. I read somewhere in a local Facebook group that someone recommended it for a good steak, without having to drive to Raleigh. While we didn't order the steak, the food did not disappoint. The ambience felt approachable, but do make reservations. Our waitress was friendly and kind. Our drinks were always full. I've heard good things about the chef here and we were really impressed with the fact that the drink and food menu changes. We left very happy knowing it will be our new date night spot. Our food choices: - Heirloom Caprese: very refreshing, perfect amount of salt - Grilled Pork Chop: OMG. So flavorful! I don't normally eat pork chops but this was so good - Grilled Baby Back Ribs with an added side of smashed potatoes: my husband is very picky with ribs and this non-vinegar based set of ribs were so juicy and fresh, falling off the bone. He literally gave me a high five. The smashed potatoes were INCREDIBLE. I made him share. The dish comes with sweet potato fingerlings, which was such a great pairing to the taste of the ribs

I had a chance to check out this restaurant with some friends this weekend and was overall impressed! Our friend made a reservation the day before for 4 ppl and it was a good thing we did because it did seem pretty busy around the time we got there, which was 7 pm. Their drink menu was really diverse and interesting with a lot of seasonal beverages. I got the wedge Caesar salad and the sweet potato chicken sliders, as well as the pomme frites for the table. The fries are a very, very generous portion, definitely a big enough basket for 4 ppl to nibble on. The wedge Caesar was where it was at. It was HUGE and the flavors were amazing. The bacon is sweet and spicy at the same time, the tomatoes being cooked were bursting with flavor, and the dressing was a less traditional Caesar but delicious in its uniqueness. Although the restaurant is 25 minutes from me, I would drive just to get this salad again. Next time, I would probably add a protein and have the salad as my full meal. The chicken sliders come with three total and were okay. I think the bun to chicken ratio was a little off, as there was way more bun than chicken, and the buns especially were a little dry. I thought the chicken was tasty, but I likely would not order this again. The service was not the best. It took quite some time for us to be greeted and much longer to get our drinks, and in general just not the best. Still, I recognize many places are understaffed, and we had a great time talking and enjoying our food, so not a big deal. As I said, I'd return for the salad, hands down, and would be excited to try other menu items and see their seasonal cocktails.

Oversized Menu Hitting Everyone's Taste Buds with Subpar Execution…read more Restaurant Review - Village Tavern, Raleigh NC Located in the growing and developing North Hills-Raleigh area, this indoor/outdoor mid-scale restaurant serves a broad range of foods across all major cuisines, aiming to satisfy all taste buds, making it perfect for families, kids, friends, business partners, couples and groups. The outdoor space, with a beautifully designed lawn area, makes this a cozy place to eat even when it's outside! __ Both times I visited this restaurant for lunch, the service was on point; the wait staff was knowledgeable about the menu and offered guidance on different dishes that aligned with the flavor profile and taste preferences of the table. __ The fundamental issue with this restaurant is the menu. You can't create great dishes when you have 68 options on the menu. Sure, you can make sure everyone has something to eat, but serving a bunch of subpar dishes rather than executing a smaller menu well lowers the restaurant's standards, which falls short in an area rich with great restaurants. __ Tuna Tartare #1 -- sushi-grade ahi tuna with spicy soy, avocado, cucumbers, and crispy wontons. While this dish seemed to have the right components to make it an excellent dish, the execution fell short. For starters, the presentation was off. It turned into a leaning tower of Tuna rather than a well-structured one. While the layers seemed separated, the excessive use of avocado and the sauce-to-fish ratio made the dish seem a bit wet and saucy, detracting from the Tuna. Ultimately, the fish seemed fresh and tasted OK, but the dish's composition made it underwhelming. __ The Bacon-Wrapped Scallops (unfortunately not pictured in my review) were a bit of perfection! Sea scallops, applewood-smoked Bacon, and teriyaki glazed. The scallops were cooked perfectly - tender, buttery, with a well-created sear. The mix of the Bacon and teriyaki created the perfect complement to the scallops, with a smoky, savory flavor, and the sweetness blended perfectly with the fresh flavors of the scallops __ French Onion Soup was another star of my meals. It is VERY rare to find a restaurant that knows how to create the perfect traditional French onion soup. Most chefs use a heavier beef broth when creating French onion soup, which takes away from the true flavors of the onions. This restaurant used a clear broth, which truly let the onions be the star of the show. Every spoonful of soup had a heavy concentration of onions, creating the perfect flavors in every bite. __ The grilled chicken spinach salad with Bacon, tomatoes, apples, cranberries, candied pecans, sliced egg, Blue cheese and poppy seed dressing. I truly loved the flavor profile of this dish. Each ingredient brought a very specific compliment to the grilled chicken protein, including spinach adding earthiness, Bacon adding smokiness and saltiness, the sweetness of apples and cranberries, a creamy contrast from the sliced egg, the acidity of the tomatoes, and the sweet richness of the candied pecans. Every bite really delivered the perfect flavor profile, turning a simple salad into a true entrée. The only complaint was the overuse of the candied pecans, which sometimes overpowered the other flavors __ The most disappointing dish was the Certified Angus Beef® meatloaf with Madeira-Cremini Mushroom Sauce, mashed potatoes, and green beans was truly disappointing. First, the presentation was OK; however, the picture online showed two pieces of meatloaf, rather than one. The meatloaf itself was over-compacted, which is where the cook presses and packs the meatloaf too tightly into a pan, causing the protein to compress and resulting in a dense, rubbery texture. It was also overmixed, resulting in a springy, tight consistency. The mushroom sauce added richness and flavor, but it didn't compensate for the meat's flawed execution. The mashed potatoes were seasoned perfectly, but were a bit firm and dry, and the green beans lacked any seasoning or flavor. The entrée was truly a disappointment, leaving you missing the moist, flavorful home-cooked meatloaf mom made for you when you were a kid. __ Overall, I wouldn't call this restaurant anything special. I would say that if you are looking for a more reasonably priced restaurant with a huge menu that can meet everyone's meal choices, it can definitely serve you well. However, it definitely isn't an elevated culinary experience, lacking the care a chef would take with a smaller menu.

The business was clean and there is also a bar inside. The restaurant has a large selection of wines and offers flights for purchase. The restaurant had some people dining in but they were not overly packed. Initially our server was pleasant and attentive. I got a blood orange sparkling water. It was ok. I ordered the whipped ricotta for an appetizer to share and a burger with fries for my entree. The whipped ricotta was ok. It would taste better with some sort of seasoning in it. My fries were served hot but needed some salt. I asked for my burger to be cooked well done but I was brought a burnt burger. I took one bite but it was too overcooked. I then requested that my server have my burger be cooked medium well so I didn't get another burnt burger. When my burger was brought back out, our server had me cut into my burger to make sure it was to my liking. The preparation was better but it was bland and tasted like there wasn't any seasoning on it. After this our server wasn't as attentive anymore. For dessert we got the donuts. They were served warm and I enjoyed them with the cherry sauce. I did not like the chocolate sauce that was served with the donuts.
