Monday night I had a 5-star experience there. My last two, one being a Door Dash, were NOT Great, but I've had great times prior so I went back Monday, 04/27. The product I received was a wrap with basically only lettuce and cheese. Barely any chicken, I couldn't taste the buffalo sauce, and they didn't put any ranch so I had to get a side which took 10 minutes. A cool sports bar located in Wake Forest. It is quite large with lots of seating and TVs. The parking lot is shared by several businesses, but seemed to be enough last night. It does stay open quite late. Ambiance - 4. I had a grilled chicken cobb salad. It was solid. Lots of veggies were mixed in and very large. My daughter had tacos and chips with salsa. She said the tacos were very good, but they were flour tortillas. In Texas we are use to corn tortillas. Also the chips were large, the ones we are use to, are made by the restaurant and salsa was not spicy. I could tell the difference in just looking at the meal. Overall food - 4. Our server was nice and our order came out quickly. The server just seemed like she was unenthusiastic about something. Service - 4. My family and I were in this establishment for a birthday party this past weekend. We had the WORST waitress ever, and her name is Susanna H. It was a large party, and she couldn't handle her section, and didn't ask for help. She put in orders for the kitchen that weren't needed. After we were all finally eating, they brought out MORE of the same orders!!00 She was so overwhelmed that she ordered extra meals and we were already eating!! She was rude to us, and when my nephew spoke to management about her, the waitress came between the manager and hit my nephew. He pushed her back. And of course she clamed to be the victim. LIES!!! This waitress should NOT be working with the public, and Ale House should be ashamed to have someone like that in their establishment!! read more

For a sports bar - I actually love this place! We went to watch a sports game with friends, and we only had drinks so I can't speak to their food. But their TVs were everything and large, making it a go-to spot for watching sports! The aesthetic was spacious, clean, and cute! We appreciated our friendly staff and accommodating our TV channel needs. Would definitely return! read more

Reservation was made on 4/18, for 4/25, the day of the reservation, I called to confirm & to see if I could add 6 more family members if possible to the party, Krishna advised that it would be fine, she advised that the patio was available & inside seating would be available as well but it would be a high top table, I advised the patio was perfect & that my mother & a few of my aunts would not be able to sit on a bar stool, she advised, it was no problem, we would have low top tables with chairs. Upon arriving, I noticed my family was seated at the bar outside at 2 high top tables, I immediately went in & asked for a manager, I was directed to the GM who was very unpleasant & advised that she was not even taking reservations on that day because she knew the Hurricanes were playing & that they would be busy, I advised, the reservation was made the previous Saturday. And the restaurant was NOT busy at all. She totally disregarded my complaint. After that I decided to stay because we were celebrating my niece's 15 birthday, who had just lost her mom in January & her wish was to just have a nice dinner with all our family there, so I stayed. Fast forward to our server, Susanna H, very unprofessional, disrespectful & definitely was not taught to not put her hands on other individuals when things aren't going her way. Her attitude towards our party was disgusting. There were several complaints about her service & attitude, my brother went to speak with a manger about her being removed from the party because she seemed overwhelmed & her attitude was too much, while he was speaking with the manager, she took it upon herself to reach around her manager & put her finger in my brother's face & hit him. He pushed her away from him & immediately police was called on my brother & she filed charges. No one apologized, no one tried to defuse the situation, no one held her accountable, or anything. We were treated as many black & brown individuals are treated nowadays, like we were the problem. I will never return. read more

Great food, besides that if you have an out of state ID (we had Alabama) expect to get denied. They said they didn't know much about Alabama IDs so they couldn't accept it. I ordered the Carolina Shrimp appetizer and Calabash Platter to go this evening. The Carolina Shrimp appetizer was so delicious!! Cooked to perfection. Great spicy with sweet combination of flavors. Layed on a bed of lettuce. Nice touch. Definitely recommend!! Now the Calabash Platter was an absolute disaster!!!! The fish, shrimp and fries were SOO SOGGY from EXCESS OIL that it was literally inedible. So much oil that I layered multiple paper towels under the appetizer container and then dumped it into that container to drain. Still limp and soggy. Still inedible. Stills a Yuck! I visited the Ale House in Wake Forest today with my family, and I am beyond disappointed with the experience. From the moment we walked in, we were not greeted. A waiter eventually sat us at a table, but after that, we were completely ignored. We sat there for about 15-20 minutes, and not a single person came to take our order. During that time, at least eight staff members walked right by our table -- several of them were standing around doing nothing. Meanwhile, a family who came in after us was served immediately. To make matters worse, the restaurant itself was filthy. The floors were dirty, tables weren't clean, and it was clear no one was paying attention to basic cleanliness or customer service. My husband and I were extremely upset. We ended up walking out and will never be returning. This was by far the worst customer service I've experienced anywhere. Completely unacceptable. read more

Quite busy for a Wednesday night. Got here around 8 PM but even though the restaurant was busy, we were seated right away. The server was very kind and Peppy. We got waters, and we're attended to immediately. I ordered the taco bowl with shrimp. The shrimp was extra and the meal came to about $15 total. A little overpriced in my opinion. To be honest, the bowl was different than I'm used to with taco bowls. Not that like bubbly, crunchy one. While the other one definitely is more oily. I think I prefer it. This is more like a literal burrito shell that got baked. The amount of lettuce and cheese and beans was great. Pretty small amount of shrimp for it being extra. I think it was a skewer of six. They did leave off my avocado which is something I was looking forward to. I had to ask about it and then the server brought some back, but about half of it was brown. Ew. And all, it was nice to have something a little more fresh of an option at a pub. The service was really good. Despite being prime dinner time on a Friday, we were seated right away, great for road-weary travelers! We ordered drinks--an IPA for my husband, Jameson and ginger for me--then decided on food. We have eaten here many times over the year. The service and food has always been great. Last night the atmosphere was terrible. The music was so loud we had to scream over the table almost to hear each other, like we were in a night club. The tables are so close together. Visited for the first time the other day with an associate. They were following social distancing guidelines which included mandatory mask wearing to enter the restaurant along with the staff wearing masks the entire time. The menu was much smaller than I remember from visits to prior locations and was just a printed piece of paper. There wasn't much for me to choose from, so I just picked the fried shrimp platter. The food was fresh and yummy except for the broccoli in my plate. The broccoli was as hard as a brick and didn't appear to be steamed. It was completely inedible. The service was good. We started off with one server & ended up with this bubbly guy, who was much friendlier. I liked him. I don't have many other complaints. There were a heck of a lot of flies that day for some reason, so it was hard to enjoy my food while trying to hit at them. We had to wait a few minutes for our waitress to notice us, she was friendly enough. Ordered the spinach dip, it was pretty good. We had asked our server for some cucumbers with it (no tortilla chips for me) and they were forgotten. We asked another server to bring them. We both ordered salads - house salad with grilled chicken for me and blackened salmon Caesar for hubby. The grilled chicken was good, salad contents just meh. The manager, who we were told was named Jess, was incredibly rude to me and my friends about not accepting my friends and I's out of state IDs. Apparently, 4, 24 year old friends visiting their parents house over Easter who have since moved away from NC and have different state IDs cannot be served. None of us were intoxicated (had not had even a single drink elsewhere). We were explicitly told "we do not accept out of state IDs" (despite the manager backtracking and saying she didn't say that, and reworded it into "we don't feel comfortable verifying out of state ids" after, so clearly she wasn't supposed to say that). Look, I've worked in both the restaurant and bar industry, have served alcohol, and know how to check most east coast IDs. I respect restaurants right to refuse, but she was rude to us from the getgo.. This manager refused to even work with us when respectfully offering different forms of ID, to have an officer come take a look, anything. And I'll admit when I'm in the wrong but we were nothing but respectful and she just gave short, snappy responses. Apparently a reason for not serving us was also when I said "I genuinely have no reason to lie about being 24" and she said "Well I'm 37." What? What does that have to do with anything?Anyways. Terrible business model to not accept a single out of state ID, which apparently they do. Would've been totally fine if she had said "Tonight we can't accept these because even though I'm a manager of a bar/restaurant that is known for serving alcohol I have failed to learn how to check a single out of state ID." Our server miles was absolutely amazing, He had some very good drinking and food Suggestions. Always checking back on us to make sure we were good, overall had a great experience. When something wasn't up to our standards he replaced it without a problem. Only reason why this is a four star not a five star because the hostess at the front were very rude and short. Need to hire new staff... If I could give this review less than one star, I would... My wife and I decided to come and have dinner on Saturday and watch a little college football while we were there. Bonnie came and took our drink order. My wife ordered a water while I ordered a beer on tap. Bonnie came back later and told me that they had to tap a new keg. This was understandable. The bar wasn't that busy at the time so I figured it wouldn't be that bad. It took 15 minutes for me to get my beer. Once we got our food (which was made incorrectly and not even delivered by our waitress, my wife had to catch her when she was walking by the table to ask for a Truly (which she never even received...). We finally had to flag her down again so that we could get our check and pay. Between the Bonnie acting like she wanted to be anywhere else except for waiting on us, all of the hostesses standing around each other at the hostess stand and not greeting anyone and the manager just walking around hanging out looking like they could care less about what was going on, I honestly would not want to come back here for a long time.
