We came here on a Tuesday afternoon for a little birthday dinner. It was a first visit for our party of 3 and we had reservations at 5pm, which was the latest the appointment system would accept. What we didn't know at the time reservations were made was that the cut-off really applied to Trivia and live band nights when the place fills up. On our Tuesday we could have walked in without having had to fight US 1 or 401 traffic out of Raleigh. Anyway, the trip in traffic was well worth it. Our server, Kat, was excellent!! She answered our questions, made some recommendations and made sure we were well taken care of throughout. We had salmon (2 types) and the pasta with shrimp. All were delish. Games were definitely on and going at this sports bar. People were having a good time and enjoying themselves. We were greeted and seated immediately. Our server came and got our drink orders and brought them back we ordered. I got the Swiss mushroom smash burger comes with lettuce tomato onion and mayonnaise. Got it with extra mushrooms and no onions and with fries. The others got the teriyaki salmon with rice and sautéed zucchini and squash, one got buffalo wings and one got the carne asada burrito with fries. The teriyaki salmon plate looked nice and was told it was good. I did have a bite of the steak burrito it has pico de gallo and a chipotle ranch on it as was and had a little spice to it but not overboard The chicken wings were a little drier than you would hope for but not desert dry thankfully. I had the burger and I did not get my extra mushrooms (I'm going to start asking for them in a bowl on the side) but the burgers weren't very smashed either but no complaints from me on that front. Of course I always add salt and pepper to everything because no restaurant seasons their food beforehand. My complaint was that our waitress got stuck at a table and we didn't see her for about 20 minutes and we were all out of drinks. We also did add on an order of the carrot cake and a side of butter pecan ice cream and loaded fries plate as well. Real McCoys I pass by this place a lot and wanted to try something different. I was not disappointed! My family went to Real McCoys on a Friday early afternoon, so there were not many customers there. The inside was very spacious. As it's a sports bar, there were a lot of televisions around, a nice sized bar and a good amount of 'community style' seating, which encourages different parties of guests to mingle at several long tables. There were also the more traditional tables and booths. Near the front door there was a stage where live music is played depending on the time & day. The atmosphere was very welcoming. As we didn't go during a busy time period, I could not comment on the service or noise levels during those times. However, when we went, it was just fine. Our waiter was very personable and we mentioned this was our first time visiting. He was very patient in explaining the various items on the menu. I had the birria egg rolls for an appetizer. The beef was braised and it was so tender. The flavor was ok, but you have to dip the egg rolls into the broth for them to maximize their potential. After doing that, they tasted just right. The cilantro and onion in the broth were on point. Very tender shreds of meat with flavorful sauce, I really enjoyed them. The egg roll skin was very crispy and not very greasy. The portions were good sized, no wishing for more food for the money. I also had the patty melt, as I wanted to try something different than a traditional hamburger. The sandwich was large, with a lot of meat cooked as you wish. The seasoning did not overpower the meat which was a very flavorful blend of short rib, brisket and chuck. The additional sauteed onions, bell peppers, cheese and Russian dressing all came together nicely. It was a different take on a patty melt for me, more like a patty melt meets a Reuben sandwich. It was a nice take! Lots of flavors that matched well, very filling and the marble rye topped it off nicely. The kids had chicken tenders which were large and lightly breaded...a plus. They were seasoned well. We all had French fries as a side and they were so good! Not sure what they do to the fries, but whatever they are doing, they need to keep it up. Nothing pretentious about them, but the taste, amount of salt and texture were all done well. My wife had the shrimp and grits. Again, a lot of food. The grits were rich and the Andouille sauce, shrimp, tomatoes were all together very hearty and packed with flavor. Finally, we had dessert. I had the brownie sundae, very dense and chocolatey brownie and rich vanilla ice cream. Not much more to say there, very good, but I ate too much. My wife had the carrot cake which she loved. I had some too and would agree. Very thick slice, lots of carrots and nuts. Very rich, but the cream cheese frosting was not too sweet, which balanced out the richness of cake. Overall, we had a great time there, very good food, the price was reasonable and the atmosphere was pleasant. I don't hear many people talk about this place, but we'll definitely be back! read more

A group of 8 of us came here on a Saturday night. We were here early enough to get a table. The place got absolutely packed. We all agreed we wouldn't go back. First, we wete given a table by the hostess. The the waitress was pussy saying we should have been given a different table. Msybe, that's why she had an attitude. Dunno. We wanted to have fun, and did, but inspire of the service. Positives 1. The food was not bad. 2. The beer was cold. 3. We were in the back but could hear the band, and they were awesome. Negatives 1. Service was terrible. It took forever to get our server. They were obviously understaffed. But, they kept letting people in, so... 2. The darts they provide (they hold your drivers license) were well work. The fins wouldn't stay in. 3. The door to the kitchen is beside the dart boards, so we had to stop and move every time a server went in or out (see photo). 4. People were so packed in that you couldn't walk between tables without people moving. 5. We had people coming to sit at our table before we were done because of the crowd. 6. 1st time eating here. We've driven by so many times. I thought it had closed once. Initially we were placed in the very back of a separate room. Passing multiple open tables to be placed in an empty room. Very weird. The server we had, Declan, was really nice, personable, and attentive. He let us know we were only his 3rd table ever haha but he was great. No issues at all. We tried the ribs from the apps menu. So delicious and flavorful. The best sweet potato fries in the area. I had the smash burger. And it lived up to its name. I literally had to smash it down to be able to eat it. The burger was cooked perfectly and the fries I got were completely gone by the end. Old Fashioned is watered down. Tastes like they put tap water in it. A good one won't be a cup full and they use maraschino cherries. As someone who drinks these regularly, husband was very disappointed. Pineapple marg came in a baby cup (in my opinion). Usually margs come is big glasses. About 5 big swallows in this little cup although it has potential. Tasted good, I ordered two. PRO: Great lunch or dinner spot but for a bar I was disappointed. Foods good, drinks not so much (what we ordered anyway). No issues with service though and the place is pretty clean. We have eaten here a couple times recently have found the food to be very good. The place is really large, so there are plenty of places to sit, even if you have a large group. Menu is pretty diverse as the Chef has a Cajun background, so you'll find gumbo and po-boys as well as traditional bar food. Upscale entrees available as well like sea scallop risotto and steak frites. Plenty of salads, sandwiches and apps. We both are fans of their Philly Cheese Steak (I like the Chicken version). And I love that they have grilled wings as well as fries. I tried the pineapple sriracha most recently with a side of their vegetable medley of the day. Very tasty. I have a soft spot for this place. Everything about my DNA should hate this place. I feel like late nights on the weekends have to be cringy and I would love to just sit and observe one of these days. Alas, my carraige turns into a pumkin far too early. The menu is thoughtful. There are staples. There is regular bar fare with a twist. There' are some experimental fringe fare as well. Aside from the specials, it is a little further north in terms of prices, but the quality is there. They have a large selection of drinks -- beer and spirits. There's all kinds of attractions for kids of all ages. I feel like the day/hour you go really makes a difference. I've been during lunch, and it's pretty tame. Overall a cool sports bar/restaurants. Been here a handful of times to dine in and also have ordered for pick up during the shutdown. I don't do keto but I absolutely love their keto bun. I like their keto bun wayyyyy better than the regular buns. It's sooooo good and takes the burger up a notch in my opinion. Worth a try at least once. Also try the shrimp and grits. OMG sooo freaking good. Mouthwatering. I will say it's a bit salty so definitely tell them to not put too much. Drinks are pretty good. I've had a few of their martini's and i'm always happy. Nice neighborhood bar with a huge draft list, make many of their own mixers, and have an upscale pub menu. Great atmosphere. Friendly staff. Plenty of tvs for sports fans. Was told this place had one of the best Bloody Mary's in town. I would say it was just ok. I asked for it spicy, and it came with a slice of candied bacon. I wasn't a fan of the bacon, but I was clearly in the minority. We shared the seared tuna appetizer, which was good and reasonably priced. I decided to try the special burger of the day, which was the French burger. It was a good, juicy burger. All of the elements worked well together, but there was nothing that stood out or made this a great burger. The homemade chips were actually my favorite part of the whole meal. We just recently moved to WF and are trying different restaurants. We heard good things about this place and were looking forward to trying it. The sweet potato fries were good but the rest of the experience and food wasn't. The Philly steak sandwich was greasy. Because of where we were seated, every time someone went into the kitchen through the swinging door, we saw a heaping pan of looked like cut potatoes, sitting on a ledge just inside the door. When the check arrived, I was surprised to find I was charged extra for the small amount of lettuce that was added to the Philly steak instead of mushroom. I was also charged for balsamic salad dressing instead of requesting mayo. The pretzel bun for the burger was burnt and soggy. We guess the place gets lively later when the band plays because we saw a guy with a "security" shirt hanging out at the next table over from us. It's a sports bar theme, TVs everywhere, in an L-shaped room with the bar in the center. The menu is more sophisticated than your typical wings, burgers and beer sports bar. Undecided as to what we were hungry for, tried a couple of "off the beaten path" entrees. Started with some warm pretzels. Served fresh out of the oven, crispy on the outside, soft and airy on the inside. With a cup of beer/cheddar cheese for dipping. Yum! Opted next for tomato bisque. It's a bowl-sized serving, topped with cheese and big crunchy croutons. The soup is creamy, thick and rich, with a tiny bite. Fancier than a bowl of just tomato soup. Good. Lastly tried gumbo. A great prep here that does New Orleans proud. Gumb base with a scoop of white rice in the center. Big chunks of andouille sausage, okra, chicken and shrimp. Very very good... If I could I would give this place more stars ... What a fantastic restaurant sports bar ! It's truly The Real McKoy ! We stopped in for what we expected would only be a fast lunch burger but wait - there was SO much more to choose from. We started with Ahi Tuna appetizer with Brussel sprouts! The Ahi tuna was just perfect and the Brussel sprouts were delicious! Then we split a Big Smokey Swissket ... that's what it's called it was a beef rib brisket sandwich with Swiss cheese and a bbq sauce that was just so delicious! The side we chose was sweet potato fries . I could go on and on about all of it . The sandwich was incredibly yummy and the sweet potato fries had a bit of cinnamon and a pinch of sugar .. they were so good! The place had so much going on.. there were pool tables , darts, video poker and TVs everywhere to watch all the sports . A full bar that offered everything you could imagine and more . Another local place I really want to love.... But I have never had a great experience here. First things first, manager was seating when we walked in. Really friendly and helped explain the gf and Keto menu. He said anything keto was gf. Idk about that so if you're celiac this may not be the place for you. Second, our waitress was all over the place and seemed to pretty much ignore us. Not sure if she just forgot us or what but a table who was sat in her section with us, left before we even got our food. A table who was sat in her section after us, left just as we were getting our food. Third, wings aren't great. I asked for crispy wings and they were burnt. I asked for Alabama white sauce and they didn't come. Fourth, kids meal shrimp? Absolutely not worth it. You get 3 shrimp. That's it. My son was like wait where's my food? I asked for a chicken tender platter as soon as I saw how much food he had (along with a missing side salad--more below) and she put it in as a kids meal but we never got a side for it it. Just three chicken tenders. Fifth, i asked for a salad without croutons. When we got our main course, I still hadn't even gotten my salad. When I asked for my salad she said she'd go check on it. It was another 5-10 mins before she came back and said "I'm going to check on your salad now." She came out and it was with croutons. I asked her to take it back. When I came back out it was plated with my sons chicken tenders and the server (who wasn't our server) said the salad went with the tenders. I figured she rang it in that way so it would be cheaper for us. No. I was wrong. When I got the check I saw it was rang up as a $7 side salad, and a $7 kids meal. Sixth, when I asked for clarification on the kids meal and side salad she said oh I just asked her to take those both out here and she put them on the plate. Maybe we got treated this way because we have kids? Maybe we were in the corner and forgotten about? I'm not sure what happened. But this was an $80 meal, that still got a $20 tip, that wasn't worth it to me. read more

Visited here a couple weeks ago with my daughter and grandson. Service was great but the food was not so much. My daughter and I both ordered half Caesar salads with protein. She had grilled chicken and I did bronzed salmon. The salad tasted more like a regular salad with very bland dressing. Definitely could not tell it was Caesar dressing at all. Her chicken was fine but my salmon was unevenly cooked, from well done to semi raw and it wasn't a large piece so that wouldn't contribute to the unevenness of the cooking. Well also had the buffalo shrimp which was good but 6 shrimp for $15 is extremely overpriced. I honestly can say neither of us will be going back for a very very long time. Still a solid four stars from me! Server was exceptionally friendly and we had a great chat about diet, foods and eating healthy. My daughter and I were so pleased to hear that Real McCoy's offers some keto options! While we no longer eat totally ketogenic diets, we do avoid carbs as much as possible. We ordered our usual pork rinds, they were kicked up a notch with ranch seasoning and ranch dipping sauce. Served piping hot and still crackling! We both ordered hamburgers on keto buns. Our burgers were good as usual. The keto bread was very average, nothing that I haven't made at home myself. However, it was nice to be able to pick up a burger and eat it with my haves instead of a knife and fork, as I typically do. I'm glad that we tried the keto buns, however, I would skip it the next time and just go bunless. The keto blueberry cobbler was SO good! Wow. They have an extensive menu so there's something for everyone to enjoy. The wings were a good size. I ordered the Cajun shrimp pasta and the flavor was definitely there. It was however a little spicer than I had expected. My boyfriend ordered the southwest wrap and he said it had an enjoyable kick to it. My wife and I were there on 7/26 approx: 7:50pm to have some dinner and enjoy the band. We ordered our drinks and my wife's margarita was terrible and tasted like some juicy box sweet drink for a kid. No tequila, very disappointing. Waitress tried to remedy the issue and same result. Finally, the lovely manager got it right and made it herself. Then came our entree's and mine was the Pastrami on Pretzel bread with a mustard side. The bread was not of any pretzel I had before. They did sprinkle salt on it though. The next time my wife and I want to eat dinner where we get better quality food and drinks it will not be this dive serving bar food and watered down margaritas.
