I mainly frequent the Wake Forest location. Parking can be a challenge, but honestly, that's a good sign. It means people keep coming back for the food. One thing I really love about this place is its consistency. A ribeye I had on January 3 tastes exactly the same as one I had on June 2. That level of consistency is something I truly appreciate. P.S. Medium rare is the way to go! The staff at the front door are mostly high school students, and I'm perfectly fine with that. Just set your expectations accordingly. The waitstaff at the tables are knowledgeable, attentive, and always helpful. I highly recommend the ribeye steak and the BBQ pork ribs. Enjoy! read more

I have heard about Texas Roadhouse for a while and been wanting to try it but there is only one TR here in WA and in the base so have never had a chance to try it! When I visited NC last Christmas, decided to drive here and try it out after a cancelled flight to light up my day! I knew I made the right choice! The complimentary bread is very good, I'm not a big fan of bread but I finished them all in one sitting. I ordered kebab with shrimp skewers! The food was cooked perfectly and with that price tho, it exceeded my expectation! The vibe inside was very lively and all the staff are very friendly too! Consistently good. The food is always tasty. Went on a busy Friday afternoon and was seated almost immediately. Loud as usual, crazy packed but didn't feel rushed or annoyed. Every time we went to eat here my steak was overcooked. I order my steak medium rare so I am also sure to give a description of how I want my steak cook in case they mistakenly hear medium "well". We decided to no longer trust takeout after the previous 5 times and to eat in instead. We were sat immediately and our waitress was very nice. We ordered L.I.T and didn't see her for awhile. When she brought them out, she asked what we wanted to eat. We had a voucher for a free appetizer and chose the blooming onions. We both ordered chicken fried chicken, both with extra gravy, seasoned rice, I had mashed potatoes, my husband had a baked potato. (This is important later). Our appetizer came to the small table at the same time as our lunch, so everything was super cramped. Within 20 minutes, I started feeling sick. I told my husband that I wasn't feeling well and would take the rest home. I waited patiently for him to finish eating. We brought the majority of our meals home. After a couple hours of a nap, I woke up feeling okay. So I finished what I had ordered and bam. Started feeling sick again. I decided to go to bed early, maybe it was just super greasy and salty? I woke up at 3:30 am...the day of my first day back at work after having three weeks off. FOOD POISONING. I couldn't call out sick, I was just out for a long time! This is the second time this has happened; the first bad experience was worse but we'll leave the past in the past. I've been here twice in the last three months. This place proves to me that poor service and food is not necessary. It's not just the way things are or the way kids are these days. Everyone we come in contact with there is A plus. And the food absolutely perfect. It's gotta be the management hiring the right people and having a plan and making people accountable. Both times the place was pretty packed, but we were seated within two minutes. The awesome yeast rolls went with us to the table so they were there immediately. And we were served promptly with food arriving within 10 minutes of placing the order. And the steaks were cooked exactly as we wanted them and the wait staff asked us to cut into them to make sure. One of my favorite things they do/have here is 1 the birthday dance/song they do and 2 there rolls with the cinnamon butter. I can't believe I'm giving 5 stars to a chain, but they do what they do very well. Definitely get on the waitlist ahead of time, this place is busy. Once you get in, its loud and hectic, definitely not relaxed dining, but great for families with kids. For the price, you can't beat it. A tender filet with sides for $23, apps and deserts are also reasonably priced. All items were cooked to order properly, and the vegetables not cooked to death as they often are. They even bring out warm rolls when you first arrive. Kids menu is bigger than most. With the right expectations, this place is a winner. read more

I'm sure I will not visit again, not because of the food. The food was good, but the "anxious" energy was overwhelming. I asked for a virgin drink and was told the bar doesn't make any virgin drinks. ‍ My bf attempted to upgrade his sirloin from 6 .oz to 11 .oz, the staff member taking our order said something along the lines of "Just so you know, it's going to cost a lot more to do that." When we sat down I was given a glass cup with a chunk missing from the top. It was very sharp and noticeable but when I asked for another cup, it took 15 minutes to get it. Pro tip- start off on the yelp waitlist and time your arrival at just before checkin time. Do not wait until you get here to get on the list. You'll be eating at 8-9pm. Go early if possible. Peak time is truly PEAK hours. I've been coming here for year and years. Sad to report that I don't know if I'll be back. It's great food and the waitresses are awesome. But I don't care for the large crowds when there are other options in town with less wait and just as good food and service. It's great to see this place grow but someone definitely needs to open a second location given the areas growth. People crowd around the door, it's hard to navigate where you should go, who to check in with. People are just standing around instead of sitting in their cars or waiting alongside the building rather than the front door. It can be overwhelming BUT once you finally get seated, things calm down and go back to normal. If that type of atmosphere doesn't bother you by all means I'd recommend. Food is good and the staff really does their best to make the experience worth it. I'll give it 4 stars based on food and service but something really needs to be done around the process of waiting. During this trip, I ordered a 6 oz filet cooked medium. It was over cooked a little bit I don't mention it to anyone. It still tasted great. Ironically they brought me a brand new steak to take home simply because that one didn't meet their standards. Again, I didn't complain. They did this all on their own. That's great service. Worst experience at a Texas Roadhouse I have ever experienced. Typically you can't go wrong with any location but I quickly found out I was wrong. The first sign of trouble was the strong scent of urine near our booth. My husband and I ordered the ribs and a ribeye with side salads, mashed potatoes, and a sweet potato. My ribeye which was supposed to be medium was cooked rare and visually red on the plate. I looked at my husband plate and he told me his ribs were Ice cold. I figured mistakes happen so we sent it back, the next round of plates had similar issues. The ribs were still cold and now my steak was overcooked in the center. At this point, we no longer wanted the food because we had waited long enough. We told the waitress we would pay for the 2 side salads and one diet Coke that we ordered. The bill came out to $16 which is ridiculous, the manager finally came over and fixed it to $12 which isn't much better. It was such an inconvenience to go somewhere expecting decent food and I still have to go home and cook for my husband. I will not be coming to this location ever again. Howver, I will say that our waitress Gem was great and handled the situation professionally. read more

I'm not overly picky when I just want to eat but the one job a steak place has is to get things right. I'm not one to waste food through but we ordered our food medium rare, medium, and a burger. The burger was so rare it squished, the medium rare was medium and the medium was borderline medium well to well. But this was after we waited for close to 30m after getting our order. This wasn't a one odd either the folks besides us got cold chicken delivered. Our waitress did her best and again I didn't send back or complain as that's been two steaks tossed because someone can't cook right. The kitchen seemed beyond messed up and probably was running ragged. I try and be patient but I spent $75 and got sub par junk I could have done 10x better for 1/4 the price. Probably going to avoid in the future. It seems that casual steak places are dying off. read more

Normally, my wife and I get sat at the bar area each time we dine in at Texas Roadhouse. The service and atmosphere is always great. Tonight was definitely the exception. We were seated back in one of the corners. Our server (name redacted) started off bad by telling us that if we wanted anymore "bar drinks", they would have to go through her. Our son ordered cheese fries as an appetizer. Yet, they never came. We also didn't see our server until the food came so when we told her that the app never came, she seemed so surprised. Myself and my daughter both ordered steaks. She did not ask us to cut into our steaks to make sure they were cooked to order. This ended up being a mistake. By the time my daughter cut into her steak, it was raw. She asked for medium rare. It was still red. We would have to ask for several things at one time whenever she would eventually come to the table as it would take forever before she came back. My wife ran out of Diet Coke halfway through dinner. She never asked if she wanted more. I put her glass to the edge of the table in hopes that she would get the hint. Instead, she just took the empty glass and did not ask if she wanted more. Gave us three boxes and had to get my son his dessert to go due to how long everything was taken. She brought boxes and no bag. We finally got tired of waiting so we got up to leave. We wait again for pick up and realize the kiosk can take payment. Another server comes to help and initiates the payment and she comes by, appeared annoyed he's helping and walks off. I am still waiting for the take out boxes. Close to the bar I Ask the bartender and she goes to get them when server arrives back at the table.
