I've yet to make a bad to selection at Longhorn. This time around, I had the chicken and ribs combo which was nothing short of delicious with a matching loaded sweet potato coupled with a creamy side of mac n cheese! To wash it all down, I had a dragonfruit margarita to wash it all down after savoring one of my favorite meal combinations!

This was my first time going to LongHorn in years and I had a positive experience. I decided to order the lemon garlic chicken with a side of mashed potatoes and I highly recommend for anyone who doesn't have a big appetite. The salad was just okay. Our waitress was super kind and very fast bringing everything we needed out.

Update from April 27th- Immediately sat down & enjoyed the Parmesan spinach dip for an appetizer with no wait! We both ordered lamb chops & was too full to eat all of it but was seasoned well. The highlight was the Brussel sprouts! Goodness! They were yummy

Went for lunch and had a sirlon steak and loaded. baked potato. The steak was average in both taste and chew. The potato was decent. No waiting to get seated. Server was efficient and friendly. Warm bread was also average.

12/24/24: We stopped by to get a bite to each for lunch. It was our first visit. Unfortunately, the hostess left much to be desired. She was NOT friendly at all. There was no one else waiting & she was near the bar area just lollygagging. She acted like we were interrupting her when she came to thr podium. She didn't speak. She just looked at us and I told her it was 2 of us. She TOLD us to follow her & she took us to our booth. She didn't say anything else. She just walked away. We still looked over the menu when I was already turned off just to give them a chance. We didn't see anything that appetizing to still give them our business. As we walked out, our waiter was walking towards us. He was more friendly and told us to have a Merry Christmas. That is the only reason they are getting 3 stars. I can't speak on food. The service of the hostess ruined our visit. We won't be back.

I went to a Longhorn Steakhouse in Orlando a few months ago. It was pretty good so we decided to try this one tonight, while we were in Raleigh. We used the "Waitlist" function for this restaurant to cut down our wait time. It worked well since this restaurant was pretty busy. I had a nice 6oz Steak that was cooked to perfection (the way I ordered it - Medium Rare) with a Baked Potato and side salad. My son had a New York that he really liked and his girlfriend ordered a Strawberry Pecan Salad (the salad was really large) We had a very attentive server who really looked after us. Overall nice experience with good food!!

The food was delicious. The waitress was ok. If you have not tried the firecracker chicken roll ups you need to. They are awesome

I've been wanting to try Longhorn after I saw the hysteria about the lamb chops. I asked my friend to accompany me since she had never been also. I went online to see about making reservations, they didn't allow but you could join the waitlist and I'm glad I did. The waitlist stated about 15-20 mins, once we arrived they stated about 15 minutes, we went to the bar to have a drink. Our waitress Jazmin was very nice, I could tell she was very busy. We started off with the shrimp and peppers appetizer, it was nice and hot and very good. I opted for the Parmesan crusted lamb chops that come with spinach and mashed potatoes and one other side, I chose broccoli. I was a little thrown off when our server asked if I wanted it soft, asked her to explain. She stated they would steam twice, I said no. I like my broccoli to have some crunch, but it was overcooked. The lamb chops were delicious, a little too much cheese for me but the spinach was the best thing on my plate. My companion ordered the full rack of ribs sauce on the side. The ribs looked as if they could have been placed under the broiler for about ten minutes, they also lacked seasoning. She stated the corn was good, and the baked potato was also good. I will go back to try a steak. The place was very busy for a Monday night, it's a large restaurant, very nice relaxed atmosphere.

Always a good time! No fuss no muss for a quick bite...which turned into being there for over an hour. Service was great. Food was good!! Shrimp were cooked just right! (I abhor overcooked tough shrimp...dont you?) Hubs ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender. Mac and cheese was ok...needed a teensy bit more cheese. But overall GOOD EATS!

The service was top notch as well. All of the wait staff were friendly, knowledgeable of the menu, and took care of our large group well. I started with the Old Fashioned Flight, with their Aged Old Fashioned, one with Old Forester 1920, and one with Buffalo Trace that they said was their restaurants pick. The first 2 were really good, but I think they gave me the wrong drink, because the one with BT didn't taste like it had any bourbon in it at all. But the waiter switched it out for me with a Tequila OF, which was really good. They brought out two salads for the table, and their Cesar Salad was really good, the dressing was so good. I ordered the Australian Lamb Chops, which were amazing. Simply seasoned, but done so well. I ordered a side of Chimichurri sauce, and it was not needed at all. My wife had the meatloaf, which was delicious, and the group all enjoyed their meals and drinks. We left full and happy. I definitely recommend you add this place to you list if you've never been.

The restaurant is beautiful, cozy, and comfortable, and the hosts and servers have been excellent every time. We made reservations once through OpenTable and once by phone -- both were easy, and reservations are probably a good idea since they stay busy. The food has been great both times. On our first visit, my husband and I shared the ribeye and loved the flavor. Their Caesar salad is also surprisingly unique and delicious with broccolini instead of a traditional Caesar style. I also really appreciated being able to order a single Rockefeller oyster since most places require a half dozen minimum. The second time we visited for an early Mother's Day dinner with my son and shared the off-menu tomahawk, which was excellent as well. The only consistent issue we've had has been steak temperature. We usually order medium, but their interpretation of medium has come out significantly more rare than expected. The first time, we had to send the steak back, and they asked us to identify only the undercooked portions to recook separately, which was a bit awkward and something we hadn't experienced before at a steakhouse. The second time, we tried being more specific and even requested an approximate temperature around 140°, but the steak came out closer to medium-well. That said, the flavors, atmosphere, and service have been so enjoyable that we'll absolutely keep coming back. We're just hoping we can eventually land on the perfect medium steak on a future visit.

The seasoning was perfect and I didn't even have to salt the meat it was so tasty. The twice baked potato was delicious too! Our server Michelle was wonderful! A Clayton staple! So glad I live close by!…read more Clayton Steakhouse is nestled in the heart of Downtown Clayton, right on Main Street. There's parking on the street nearby, as well as a couple of parking lots available nearby as well. I know Downtown Clayton has started putting up some signs for paid parking, so just pay attention when parking. That being said, there are plenty of options for parking. I've been numerous times for lunch and dinner and always enjoy my visits. The staff is friendly and definitely fits the small-town/family vibe of Downtown Clayton. The restaurant is small, but still a great size, and never too packed. I love the simplicity of the menu. There are good options, but it's not too much or overkill. Although they are a steakhouse, there are quite a few other great options if you don't eat steak or want something. The steaks are always cooked well and correctly with lots of flavor. I love a good salad bar, and there are many times I've gone for a solo lunch just for the salad bar. It's not a huge salad bar, but there are great topping options, and it's always fresh, which I love. During lunch, they also have options for made-to-order cold sandwiches and wraps. You can choose your bread/wrap, meat, cheese, and toppings. I love Clayton Steakhouse and highly recommend. The prices are also great for the quality of food as well.

Here's my expert review…read more We came here for our 4 year anniversary, made the reservation a day or so in advance... maybe even the night before? We were sat at a private booth overlooking the wine selection, open kitchen, and dry-aged beef display. Host greeted us, acknowledged the reservation and anniversary. The server did the same as soon as he arrived. ‍ Matt was our server; his global wine expertise helped provide guidance through pairing drinks with our meal. I also love when a server is opinionated on what to order, how to order it, and what to pair together... following his suggestions was a highlight of our experience. He immediately suggested when to order based on how long things take to cook - huge plus in my book so you are aware of pace and can order accordingly. We started with the Shrimp Cocktail and Hamachi Crudo... while the Hamachi isn't something we typically order, the quality was fantastic and such a treat. The Shrimp Cocktail... is simple, its itself, but the size and cocktail sauce, fresh flavor made it a perfect choice. Next we had 3oz of the A5 Wagyu with the recommended Shoyu sauce... perfection. Glad we listened to Matt on this one. We also shared the Prime NY Strip with another Matt recommended sauce... fantastic. We always order our meat Medium Rare, came out exactly that. Meat cut as easy as butter. Crust on the outsides were delicious and not too hard or salty, but just right. Honorable Mentions We were too full to order dessert or anything else, but a few things that caught our eye when passing our table were the Caesar salad, bread pudding, and homemade ice cream. We want to come back and sit in Matt's section and bring our parents! Thanks for making our night so enjoyable and memorable. Ps... I know new restaurants can have some kinks in the beginning, as seen in reviews from last year, but our experience was flawless and the pace/timing was perfect, especially when listening to our servers' guidance.
