The Ruby Tuesday in Sanford NC has a Great Server!! Colby provides excellent, friendly service! And the food was good

The first thing I noticed when we sat down was the rubber mat smell. You know the smell I'm referring to? It smells like a combination of rubber and stale, greasy food. I've been to Red Robins with the same odor. Anyway, we were seated directly in front of the bar, right in our server's line of sight, but it still took her longer than it should have to come greet us and take our drink orders. My girlfriend got the salad bar, which is the reason we came, and she loved it. I got the bacon cheeseburger, which was small, and my fries were somewhat bland. Our server was nice, but I just wasn't impressed with the place overall. read more

Salad bar always good here, service was great. Nothing like time traveling back to the 90s for a meal. Some may that they need to be updated but leave it like it is.... Times were better back then and I enjoy the walk back in time. The croutons have never changed. read more

Excellent timing from start to finish. Felt bad for the church crowd, saw folks waiting 20 min or more as we finished our meal. This location always seems to be short-staffed. Empty tables, maybe 4 servers, maybe 3 in kitchen. Salad bar was a mess. Lately it's been hit or miss. read more

I normally have a great meal at this restaurant, but tonight was not a good night. The waitress and manager seated people after we entered the restaurant was not acceptable. I was truly disappointed in the service that I received tonight. I normally don't leave bad reviews, but this one had to be left. I have never been treated like this at a restaurant before in my life. I eat here several times a month, but I may never come back here due to the way I was treated tonight. For to go orders over phone there was over 10 minute hold before hanging up 3 different times. Never placed order. You get a person initially but once it transfers no one else will assist you. Never had problems calling in orders here. Quite disappointing. read more

Waited 10 minutes to be seated despite being the only ones waiting. Was told our waitress was swamped even though they weren't terribly busy. The young man who seated us took our drink order but didn't return. Waited 13 minutes for a waitress to happen by, took our drink and food order. Salmon was cooked dry and zucchini burnt. Had to send another waitress to find ours to checkout. Never- ever again! read more

I would rate the Ruby Tuesday Garner, NC. a 0 if I could. My husband and I went to the Ruby Tuesday in Garner, NC. for dinner last night. My husband is disabled due to MS and uses a walker to get around. We went around 5pm, early, to beat any potential crowds. When we first got into the restaurant, there were a few other people standing, waiting for the host to seat them. It took about 20 minutes for someone to come over and seat everyone. At this point, the restaurant was just about empty, so I don't know why it took someone so long to seat us all. I specifically asked the host to seat my husband and myself in a booth near the bathroom. The host did this, we were very happy with our seat as it was well lit with us sitting right next to the window and the size of the booth was roomy. My husband put his walker in the little entryway to the bathrooms, the walker was against the wall and was not blocking anything. The host then comes back to our table, and tells us that we have to change tables, because the walker is a fire hazard. My husband asked if they could put the walker anywhere else to comply, the host said no, because of the walker, it was mandatory to change tables. I asked if I could fold up the walker and slide in the booth next to me to get the walker out of the way, I was told no, it's still considered a fire hazard and not allowed. My husband and I were surprised, but agreed to change tables. The table they changed us to was in the bar, where we did not want to be, and it was half a small booth on one side, and a dirty, shoddy single chair on the other side of the table. The bar area was very dark, with little light. The table was much smaller, and the lamp above did not work, my husband and I were sitting in the dark. I did check to see if there was a switch on the lamp to turn on, there was none. A server appeared, my husband asked if the light could be turned on so we could see our menus, and all the server said was the light bulb was broken, and did not offer to put a new light bulb in. At this point, my husband decided to leave. He felt that the restaurant was trying to hide him because he has a disability. My husband felt very humiliated and it was a completely degrading experience. We frequent restaurants every now and then, and all other restaurants we have been to have been pleasant, and accommodating to my husband's disability and walker. My husband has never, ever been treated like this at any other restaurant. I would also like to mention that this location has seen better days. The complete establishment-inside and out-needs a makeover/remodel. Paint is fading on the outside of the building, and the inside is just depressing. The depression shows with the staff also. read more

We will NOT be back and will tell others not to go. The Manager was so unprofessional and got upset that we didn't carry cash when THEIR card system went down. Only cards. After she stared us down before saying that she would allow one of us to leave and find an ATM.(my husband gladly did). "I state it is fine, life happens we understand." While my husband was gone she walked by, slammed my receipt on the table, did not look at me and said something under her breath as she walked. Even my 9yo said "that lady wasn't very nice to you mom" no apology for the hassle or thank you for doing that. I'm sorry if you had a bad day. That does happen. But to have that attitude towards your customers and in front of children I find unprofessional and alarming. Our waitress was tho was great! She apologized and again we said it's totally fine. We eat here at least three times a week. We walked I. No one was there to greet us, there were three booths o. So we sat ourselves. The host then came over to us and said that we were supposed to wait to be seated. We've never that that issue before, and the manager came over. They wanted to scold us for not waiting and said people waiting to be seated with no one was ahead nor waiting in to be seated. We were never brought menus. They even took more people ahead of us let them down and let them order ahead of us after waiting 20 minutes we decided to leave no one ever came. Give us the menu or acknowledged us other than the manager coming over to complained to us. That's poor management skills and it was humiliating and embarrassing for her to come over to the table and beat us the way she did. read more

Wow I'm trying to think of everything I want to say. Let's start off with a new name Last Tuesday because it's the last time I ever eat here. The place looks like it did in the 90s. Walls are dirty, toilet leaks. The burger on special it's just a McDonald's hamburger on a bigger bun. Does anyone ever look up I don't think they do. We went to Ruby Tuesday on a Wednesday for a late lunch after picking strawberries nearby. There were seven of us and we were greeted by the host who immediately proceeded to arrange our space. First of all I like the restaurant decor and it just appeared clean and fresh which was pleasant. Our waitress came quickly...I think her name was Michelle...took our beverage orders. She was friendly and professional. After a few minutes we were ready to order. I decided on the $7.99 salad bar special and the broccoli cheese soup for an additional $2. The salad bar appeared fresh, organized with the usual options. Think I read somewhere there were 50 items. It definitely was a great deal for the money but nothing that remarkable for a salad bar. I did enjoy the Italian dressing that was a little different than the normal flavor. Also I was able to take broccoli from the salad bar and put it into the broccoli cheese soup which had no broccoli in it. Anyway overall the meal was good and I was satisfied. We received great service and the restaurant vibe was pleasant...so I'll be going back. read more

This is now the 4th time in the last 6 months that we had to have the food sent back so the cooks could get it right. I order a bbq bacon cheese burger with GF bun with grilled onions and bbq sauce on the side. I got no bacon, bbq sauce smothered all over the burger, fried onion rings instead of grilled onions as I had ordered (can't have fried because of GF and didn't order fried onion rings) plus the bun broke apart when I bit into it and it was cold. The manager never came to the table. I would not go to this establishment again as this is not the first or second or third time this has now happened. Take responsibility and do better service front and back of house. Unacceptable! read more

We've had several good meals here in the past but it was lacking. The menu isn't as appealing as it use to be, our waitress was rushed because it looked short staff and.. my husband was served raw chicken and we had to send it back. Yes they fixed it but what if he hadn't caught it? Salad bar was normal but my loaded potato soup was mainly cheese sauce and I didn't eat half of it. Went in on Friday evening, had the salad bar and 8 Oz. Sirloin potatoe. Walked in greeted with a smile. Looked around no servers but 2 , 1 bartender and a cook. The restaurant was clean and salad bar was stock. When I tell you the manager was seating people and bussing tables getting ready for the next people to be seated. The food was absolutely disgusting and not cooked at all. The chicken was rubbery and super undercooked. The fries were in the fryer too long and the fries.fries it had no taste and it was extremely crunchy. You can call a two for 25 if you're gonna add another extra five dollars just because someone else got something that's on the menu. You don't bread the tail on a shrimp because the meat inside of the tail want be cooked it all. The baked potato, the potato was cold on the inside. They tried to use cold butter and sour cream, instead of room temperature. The bread was extremely hard and not cooked at all. The mozzarella sticks the cheese were cold in the middle. The sauce wasn't sauce. It was more like tomatoes paste. They so shorted staffed. It took for almost to hours for out food to come out. The people seating behind us got their food before we there and we got there an hour and a half before they did. The atmosphere was absolutely terrible.It took forever to get a refill on my drink. So what I'm really trying to say is if you are so understaffed you need be shut down until you got higher more people. Then my thing and then you can't add a tip to a check yourself. So we did the math and it was only supposed to be $49 so why are you gonna charge me an extra eight dollars. So that's the reason you only got a $.81 tip. read more

Yum! The food was better than I expected. We ordered in advance online. I love the option of seeing visuals of the food online while ordering and being able to place an advance order. The pictures they have on the website are beautiful. Yes they do not exactly represent the items provided, but they do show the size and included ingredients. We ordered the deconstructed kabobs, sirloin, baked potato, loaded baked potato, and chicken Caesar salad. I ate the deconstructed kabobs and baked potato. The flavor of the deconstructed kabobs was excellent with a good balance of salt. Only issue I had with it was that the beef was fairly tough. The potato was as expected and arrived with a cup of butter and sour cream. It was strange that these were mixed together since I ordered just butter. Our order was accurate, ready on time, pricy, and reasonably portioned. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and recommend this restaurant to others for takeout. read more

We travel a good distance to dine at the Tuesday primarily because they offer Daily Specials that are a pretty good deal.....:and even though inflation has got their Salad Buffet.....it's still one of the best salad bars available for the money. ....almost always full of fresh offerings. If you join the Ruby Tuesday Rewards Club they offer wonderful BOGO offers almost every week. The restaurant is old and in need of some sprucing up.....but the specials and deals more than make up for an outdated decor. read more

Being that most Ruby Tuesday's are a dying breed I'm happy with this location. They've never been rude or nasty when I call in a to go order. They are happy to redeem your coupon code to get your savings. I'm very appreciative of the kind staff and management. Will continue to get my business. The 20-year-old hostess, the very first person you see when you walked through the door, was not wearing a mask at all. And she said something like she wished everything were back to normal. The manager was aware of her not wearing a mask but said and did nothing. If the resto industry -- and all industries for that matter-- wants to keep functioning, then they should enforce strict rules for both employees and customers to protect people who care enough about their health and others. You would think they have sense enough to know this so as not to alienate their customers. I think the government should step in and make this part of every resto's health inspection. P.S. Too bad their grilled chicken and chicken & broccoli were not so bad. And our waitress was fantastic. But eating in a resto isn't just about food-- it's also about experience. read more

The restaurant opened at 11:00. We walked in at 11:07. There were only 2 other customers in the restaurant. There was dirty silverware and food on the floor from the night before. The lettuce on the salad bar was brown, left over from the night before. The salad bar was messy. Several of the foods were spilled in other bowls of food. The sauces in the pasta salads were dried up and the bowls were half empty. Very obvious the food was left over. At opening time, I would expect to see a clean restaurant with fresh food. The bathroom floors were disgusting. Looks like they haven't been swept or moped in a long time. The rolls of toilet paper were laying on the floor. read more

I haven't eaten at the Garner location. I just recently found there was one in Garner. My family was saddened when the Smithfield location closed. That was where we went after church on Sundays.
