He was attentive, kind and informative, just like the staff. Miguel greeted us and welcomed us and made our dining experience such a positive one. Being from New York, it was amazing to see the southern hospitality everyone speaks of. The atmosphere was perfect for an Easter Sunday brunch! I ordered from Eggs Up Grill in Clayton through a food delivery app and was really disappointed, especially after seeing so many positive reviews. I ordered the chicken and waffles along with the banana pancakes, eggs, and bacon. The waffles were okay, but they were nothing special. They reminded me of the waffles you make at a hotel breakfast where you pour the batter into the waffle maker yourself. They were just plain waffles with syrup and didn't have anything that made them stand out. The chicken strips were the biggest disappointment. They were incredibly bland. It didn't taste like the chicken or the breading had been seasoned at all. The only sauce they included tasted like sweet chili sauce, which just didn't go well with chicken and waffles. I've had this dish at other restaurants where the flavors really come together, but this version completely missed the mark. The banana pancakes were some of the driest pancakes I've ever eaten. The bananas were dry, the pancakes were dry, and there was almost no flavor. I didn't think it was possible to mess up banana pancakes, but these were terrible. The eggs and bacon were fine, but they were just average. Nothing about them stood out. For the price, I expected much better food. I ate the eggs and bacon, but the pancakes went straight into the trash. I took one bite of a chicken strip, ate about a quarter of one waffle, and threw the rest away because I just couldn't enjoy it. I got the loaded potato bow. It had bacon or sausage (you choose), onions, green peppers, cheddar cheese, and 2 eggs anyway you want it. I did feel my peppers and onion were way undercooked and they skimped on the cheese. Didn't feel very loaded to me like a loaded baked potato would be. My husband got the 3 egg omelet. Egg whites- turkey sausage, spinach and pepper jack. He enjoyed it! Normally comes with home fries or grits he got fruit for $1.99 more. And you also get to choose a toast with the meal. I came here for the third time yesterday and I left a little disappointed. I decided to try a breakfast item since it was the morning even though I know I love their chicken, so I ordered the Classic Benny with a side of home fries. The eggs were so runny they didn't stay on the English muffin which made it very sloppy and difficult to eat (I know poached eggs are runny but it was extreme) and the hollandaise sauce wasn't very good. The home fries were great as always but I was pretty disappointed with the eggs benedict. My sister and my partner were both unsatisfied with their meals as well. Staff were friend, and placed my orders in a timely manner. Menu prices were reasonable, and the restroom was clean. There is only one restroom for each gender, so be mindful if there is a line waiting outside of each restroom. The Grand Classic breakfast tasted ok, but there was no spectacular wow factor that sparked excitement. My potatoes were cold, and the food temperature was warm. I like hot food. I may return again in the future. If I return, I'll definitely choose a table instead of a booth. Its never an easy thing finding a decent cafe that can serve an old school breakfast at a decent price, especially in a fast growing town like Clayton. One thing to take into consideration is the level of popularity here, This place is busy throughout the breakfast rush, much like going to a Broadway show, be prepared to take your place in line. Its a cafe in a strip mall so there is noting special about the ambience, but the menu provides a good variety, the cappuccino is excellent and the food is good. Although the omelet was good, I felt a bit shortchanged by the lack of a decent amount of cheddar cheese. A cheese omelet is an egg dish that's folded in half and filled with cheese, "FILLED WITH CHEESE", not just given a quick sprinkle. Clearly something I will take into consideration next time! The staff are great and they do seat people as quickly as possible, if I was to eat breakfast out again in Clayton any time in the future, this is where I would go. Cheers! read more

My wife and I visited EUG after attending church service based on the word of mouth reviews we had been hearing. When we walked in, the hostess greeted us with a smile and we were quickly seated. Our server Isabella welcomed us and took our drink orders. Shortly thereafter, she took our food order. During that time, she was very patient and helpful explaining the menu based on some questions my wife had. I had the Philly Cheesesteak omelet. My food was very warm and cooked v nicely. Looks like this is the spot to go to for delicious breakfast food. Ordering online was straight forward. The hostess was pleasant, my food was ready so I didn't have to wait to receive my order. The portion size was perfect for me which is why I opted out of toast..getting grits AND potatoes was filling enough. The best part is that the price was reasonable!! My food was good! Found this little diner in clayton after church. Very cure. It was definitely busy, which is good right? We saw apple cider mimosas and all these cool coffee drinks on the menu, so of course i wanted one. Welp, the restaurant doesn't have an alcohol license soooo no mimosa. My husband asked for a latte, he got a cup of coffee (waitress didn't know what it was or how to make it). We ordered crab cake Benedict and the texas farm house. Food was good, prices were good. Clayton, North Carolina. First visit, since this place has just opened up. Service: On point! You're greeted as you walk through the door and the wait staff is friendly and professional. Two (I'm assuming) managers/owners were also walking around the dining room, checking in with each table. Nice touch. Dining room: A bit on the small side, but clean. The wooden chairs aren't the greatest for comfort, but they're just fine for a quick sit-down. Food: Very solid! Good coffee! Everything was cooked as requested, but I wasn't a fan of the sausage links. They were pretty dry, with almost a jerky-like texture. Probably just over cooked a bit. The eggs, grits and breakfast potatoes were perfect! The ONLY exception I'm noting: Food temp needs to be monitored. When it was delivered, it was barely at room temperature. The manager made a note of this, and went off to look into it. Overall, it's great to have another solid, go-to breakfast place in Clayton. Everything excellent, from the clean and lovely restaurant, to the great service by nice folks, to the large-portioned well prepared great tasting dishes. A blueberry muffin placed on the griddle? Ok, so let's set expectations. If you are looking for a good filling breakfast that you could make at home. Nothing fancy, just a solid breakfast ... then I would suggest staying at home and saving your money. The food quality here is nothing special. You would get the same stuff from the grocery store, so why pay these guys to do it. For instance ... the eggs ... I ordered scrambled eggs. I got egg "sheets", not sure how to describe it .... but likely just some egg mixture poured on a flat top and flipped once. Was not horrible, but again, not what I would expect. I can make much nicer eggs at home. The grits ... you know those 5 lb bags of grits you get at Food Lion ... those are the ones. I would expect maybe a better stone ground grit. I think you get my drift. The staff was very nice, the service very good, just not a big fan of the food. read more

It's just ok. It's overpriced for what you get. My food is always overly greasy and when I've ordered delivery my drinks were consistently forgotten. There is seriously a pool of grease in the bottom of the bowl. I've ordered delivery here twice and both times I was disappointed. I will not get food from here again. Wait time is incredible. I consistently decline DoorDash order from here when I'm driving because the tips are never enough to compensate for the wait time. I do appreciate they keep delivery food in hot bags so at least I know my customers food will not be cold and affect my rating in any way. Most staff is friendly but the time I dined in I honestly believe one of the servers was on drugs by her overly erratic behavior. I wasn't the only one who noticed. I also wait a good 25 minutes for my food with a toddler. He started to act up because he was so hungry. Took 10 minutes just to get drinks. I ordered fruit and oatmeal for him. As someone who's been a server before, they could have at least brought his fruit out and drink to keep him calm as I wait in the rest. I would give dine in another try if I trusted my skillet dish wouldn't have a pool of oil. The prices are ridiculously high for portion size..for avocado toast-The avocado is not even spread and it's not on a piece of toast that's warm, 2 cold small pieces of bread..I feel like if they're gonna charge you that much, for two pieces of bread-avocado.. they can at least make the presentation with something else, everything bagel seasoning optional , some veggies(tomatoes-onions) on the side or fruit of your picking...the eggs and the hash browns are small for the price. I tried this location twice and was Somewhat dissapointed each time The first time they were short handed and overwhelmed. My meal sat in A delivery window with a dozen others for a half hour and was luke warm when Served I tried again two months. This time the Service was faster but at 9 am they already out of several common items. It is a Nice location but prices are unreasonable for mediocre food. I still hope they get better. Went there for the sole purpose of getting mimosas! They still do not have their liquor license and they have been open for more than 6 months. They still have mimosas on all of their menus and the web site. We didn't find out until after a 40 minuet wait for a table. It took 40 minutes to get our food and we got our empty drinks (the ice was melted by the time we were even offered refills) with warm tea. The food was ok but nothing spectacular. Next time we will just go to the diner up the street. read more

I am sad to write this review. 2 stars for cleanliness - still feels generous all else considered. I cannot speak about food quality because we walked out after waiting 1/2 hour for a table and were still waiting for our order nearly an hour later AND was told our order would be another 15. And so we left. While I understand that help is hard to find I am disappointed that the owner kept packing people in with no thought to the customers waiting, & kept taking phone orders, again leaving patrons stranded. Solution: tell people what the REAL wait will be so they can decide if they want to stay. Not a pleasant experience - we left hungry and I will have to think twice before returning. :( read more

Brought my family here for breakfast. This was my first time here and my last. Three out of seven orders came out wrong. My eggs came out not even warm but cold. After we finished the server came to our table with a tablet to check you out and guides you through the process including the screen begging for their tip. My daughter and I came to this location while we waited on her car to be fixed. We were sat right away and then sat at the table for over 15 minutes being ignored by all staff. Several of the staff members walked by us, others glanced our way (including two managers) but no one came over and said hello, can we get you something to drink etc. Then I see a server speak to another server, who ended up being our server and she said "oh alright". It was another 5 minutes before she came over to us. She offered no hello, no I'm so sorry for the wait, nothing. Her first words were "are you all set to order". We ordered food and coffee drinks. A different server brought our drinks over which were very good. We both got the mocha cold brew coffees. From there, it only went downhill. Our server comes back with our food and starts to hand me what she was calling chocolate chip pancakes (I had ordered blueberry) and I told her that wasn't what I ordered so she then tried giving my daughter "plain french toast" which is not what she ordered. I told her she must have the wrong table. She proceeds to bring the food back to the counter. Then a manager shows up and asks us what we ordered. I was dumbfounded, how about you look it up in the computer device that the server used to take our order? But I kept my cool and and told her exactly what we ordered. I ordered The Three Deuces - blueberry pancakes, scrambled eggs and two strips of crispy bacon. My daughter had ordered the cinnamon swirl french toast with two strips of crispy bacon and two sunny side up eggs. The manager said, that's what she brought over to you. So I told the manager that wasn't what she was telling us she was serving. She just said that the server was mistaken and what she brought over was correct. So the server has no idea what she's serving now? They brought the food back over. The bacon was cold and chewy, the scrambled eggs were still runny and lukewarm and the pancakes had egg shells in them. My daughter's bacon was also chewy and cold, she only received one egg and that was cold and not fully cooked and the cinnamon swirl french toast was literally Pepperidge Farm cinnamon swirl bread made into french toast. The server came over at one point and asked how everything was and I told her not good, I was just frustrated with the entire experience at this point and I just wanted to leave. She asked if there was anything she could do and I told her no. Then the manager comes over and asks us how everything was and I told her the same "not good" and that this has been a horrible experience and that I would just like the check please. She said she was sorry to hear that and was there anything she could do to make it better. I told her no and that it was too late for that. She ended up charging us half price which I paid and left zero tip. I'm a former server, my family has worked in a kitchen/restaurant/bar/banquet environment for years so I know how this should've gone down. The only other table this server had was a family of 7 or 8. Her station was completely manageable. I am a patient person and one of those people that pretty much cleans up the entire table so that the server has less to do but grab a stack of plates. I typically over tip even when the service is sub par. This is only the second time in my life that I have left zero tip but I strongly felt that this server did not deserve one. Another observation was seeing another server blatantly eating, standing up at the counter while she watched over her guests. This is taboo in the server world. You either sit in a back room and eat quickly or at least turn your back to guests so they're not watching you eat. On the positive side, the place was clean, the hostess was efficient and friendly and whoever made our coffee drinks did a great job! read more

The service was average. Speed of service was good and food came out hot and to order. I got the classic breakfast and it was sub-par. I think they use Old Bay seasoning for the potatoes, so it gave them a shrimp taste, really ruined the meal. The biscuit was not what I would expect in the south and not that good. read more
