This was my first experience at this location and I was pleasantly surprised. The hostesses were very friendly and welcoming as well as our waitress. We ordered the blueberry lemon cornbread to start which is a seasonal item. I am not a fan of cornbread but theirs was absolutely delicious! It was moist and very flavorful. I had half a ham and gruyere melt and their soup of the day which was cheddar broccoli soup. My children enjoyed their French toast. First time visiting this location today. And I enjoyed eating there, we went a little early to be the Sunday breakfast rush the location is great and staff were very nice. My only compliant is that the ceiling tiles could use being replaced and the vents dusted. There was such an accumulation of buildup and it was the only downside. My daughter come here often for a Saturday mom/daughter date and it never disappoints! The service is always excellent, the coffee is always hot and I love how I can refill the coffee from the carafe they put on the table. Their million dollar potatoes are delicious and decadent but the ham and Gruyère omelet is my favorite. The pancakes are delicious and huge and their kids meals are a great deal! I gave this place a couple of tries and it was disappointing both times. First visit, they gave us Pancakes burnt on one side. They smartly put the burnt side at the bottom and served it to us. We noticed the burnt flavor as soon as we took a bite. We let the server know and they replaced it but I am not happy with the way their tried to deceive us. Second visit, we used the "Get-Inline" feature on their website and checked in upon arrival, but staff consistently seated other parties who arrived after us. When we questioned the delay, they dismissed our complaint and blamed us for not checking in. We waited too long already and it was too late to go anywhere else. They finally gave us the table. Every dish we ordered had way too much salt, to the point where it was inedible. At this point, I did not even bother complaining. We just paid our check and walked out. read more

Always good good friendly and a pleasant place to eat. Sometimes a wait but always worth it

We have gone to this restaurant almost every Sunday for months. The service is and has been excellent. Unfortunately, of the last month, the food quality has dropped significantly with food being burnt, cold, raw, etc. Today we ordered 3 well-done waffles, a grilled blueberry muffin, and bacon. The bacon and muffin were burnt. The waffles were mangled and raw. We sent the food back and talked with the manager, Ashley. We then received 4 or 5 replacement waffles that were mangled, raw, or both. The manager did not check on us, but just sent more waffles. When we asked her back to the table, she comped the meal. At this point only one person had an edible waffle, the other two were hungry. I tried to explain to Ashley, that we did not want free inedible food. Comping the meal does not fix the problem. She refused to listen, turned her back, and stormed off rudely. We left hungry. We will not be returning. read more

Second and now third time around and I can honestly say that I like them. Servers absolutely makes a huge impact and difference in an establishment. Our first time was in August for one of my daughter's birthday. Our server made her feel very special and I love the fact that when they over cooked my poached egg, they made me a new one without me asking. Kudos to the cook who knew what they were cooking and how it's cooked. On our second time, brought another child and she got a full kid's waffle and she loved it. Our server was a nice gentleman and very attentive. I got the poutine since I kind of miss it being from Quebec. I wanted to see how they fair. But alas, it was missing sauce and lack of cheese. I like my poutine with loads of cheese and gravy. It was good though and more on the healthy side. It was a good healthy alternative. Now, our third time. We are so lucky to have our second server and even though it has been a long time, he still recognized us! How cool is that! Got the Baconado this time and I love the salad. It's lightly dressed and fresh. Their Belgian waffles are very fluffy and buttery. The only thing that might needs tweaking is in the fruit bowl. The pineapple core is too hard and should be cut off. First watch is a staple for the wife and I at this point. We come here every single Sunday after our morning walk, and the experience is always delicious and satisfying! Now I'm not sure how many people utilize this, but First Watch does have an online wait list, which you can sign up for prior to arriving. It's a phenomenal system that can help save you time. We usually like to sign up for the wait list as we're leaving our walk, and it takes about 15 minutes for us to drive to First Watch, and once we're signed in, we practically never wait longer than 5 additional minutes. The food is always tasty! Look, I won't claim it's the best breakfast you'll ever have, but it comes out quick, always tastes good, the service is efficient and speedy and the overall vibe of the place is enjoyable. To me, that's perfection. I've probably tried half their menu at this point, but my typical go-to meal is the trifecta, which is a combo of eggs, your choice of pancake or waffle and your choice of bacon or sausage. *chefs kiss* Come on by and you won't be disappointed! read more

I had a disappointing experience picking up a to-go order from First Watch in Holly Springs today. My order was supposed to be ready at 10:37 AM--I arrived by 10:39, grabbed the bag, and walked to my car. Something felt off, so I checked the bag and realized a blueberry pancake was missing. I went back in to let the staff know, and there was no apology or acknowledgment--just a flat "Okay, I got you." I then waited another 10-15 minutes while multiple people asked what I was waiting for, but no one actually helped--until a kind guy who was bussing tables finally stepped in, made me feel heard, and got things taken care of. He was the only one who treated me like a valued customer. In the end, my order was nearly 20 minutes late--and I was bringing breakfast to my mom, who's recovering from hernia surgery. As someone who spent over a decade working in the food industry, this experience was frustrating. It felt like the staff were just going through the motions. We enjoy eating at First Watch. My kids love it too. They have so many choices of food items that you cannot go wrong when choosing something delicious. My favorite is the SWEET HONEY PECAN SALAD. The dressing with the salad is so delicious also. I ordered the half sandwich and half salad this last time. My oldest she ordered a breakfast item and it was delicious too. We both shared and the portions are always more than enough. The customer service has always been wonderful. We have only been to the Holly Springs location so far. Overall I waited a few times before making a review of this place due to a bad Experience at the one in Cary & it's a chain. The service at this location is great, I've never had an issue with quick, courteous service! Now the food. It's supposed to be a healthier breakfast. They have many healthier options and always offer healthier sides. I usually gravitate towards an omelet (either the loaded one or the bacon one) with a side of potatoes and bread. (I would suggest asking for peanut butter, as it was extremely good with it) The waitress was friendly. Basically the only thing that I was disappointed in was the diet coke, it didn't taste quite right... The breakfast menu offered a nice selection of items from healthy to hearty. The carnitas burrito- seasonal item looked yummy as advertised so we ordered that along the chickichanga . Oh boy! Let me tell you about that burrito! The green salsa was so good. The burrito was filing, flavorful and nicely presented. The chickichanga was good however I wish they served the avocado on top with salsa on the side- tasty as well. Super pleased with the food! Definitely a hearty breakfast. I am so happy that a First Watch opened in Holly Springs! We placed our order online for pickup and it only took 20 minutes to prepare. I ordered the chile chorizo omelet and a fresh-squeezed OJ for me, the inspired italian omelet for my husband and the trifecta (carrot cake for the pancake) for my mom. The omelets are served with a side salad, fruit or breakfast potatoes and toast. All of the food was great! The only thing we didn't care for was the carrot cake pancake (my mom mentioned she would opt for a different flavor next time). Overall, this is a fantastic breakfast spot. read more
