Would give 0 stars if i could! went today and there was a lady named tiffany who was literally drunk or high or something during her shift , she was nodding off and couldn't walk straight, her eyes were all red and you could tell she had taken something. she was also slurring her words and she was still asked to serve tables when she clearly couldn't . she bought us a coffee and ofc spilled it all over the table the manager did nothing about it but send her to the back and when she came back out she still looked drunk, she took another couples order and they never got there food and the manager had someone else go and take there order. i know it waffle house and expected behavior but that's unacceptable. read more

I'd like to give more stars, but the morning I was in to dine, there were 8 plus people working on staff & it took forever to have a table cleared-- in fact, we sat down as no one acknowledged us just standing there, and when we did sit finally someone yelled we could not sit until the table was cleaned. This might have been those most uncomfortable I've ever been while eating somewhere. The food was fine, but the atmosphere was TENSE. Idk her name, but I think she was the manager (pink camouflage Waffle House visor.). Idk what happened prior to my arriving- but I can tell you this lady was PISSED and should not have been facing customers. I first sat, nobody said anything to me. Despite the fact that I was at the counter top and she was literally right in front of me, she didn't even acknowledge my presence. I sat there for a minimum of 5 minutes before the waitress came out, stating she had been in the bathroom and that she told everyone, with the manager loudly yelling back that nobody knew and she didn't tell anyone. Anyway... the waitress was extremely nice, got our drinks right away and menus, order came out quickly. But the ENTIRE time... the woman in the visor was bitching. At employees, talking to herself about how done she was and over it. Again, idk what happened before I came in- but everyone seemed on edge. It wasn't super busy, but tables were walking out. I heard my waitress tell her "those people waiting just walked out" and she said "I don't care". The whole time this woman was making her misery very apparent. She should not have been there. People don't expect perfection, especially at Waffle House, but if you're unable to be professional- you need to at least remove yourself from being front facing with customers. I have been going to waffle House since I was a child... Never had the food AND the service been so bad (let's be honest it's usually one of the other). We arrived to the table and we're greeted (or lack of greeting) by Emma who shrugged off our polite conversation like she was disinterested. The coffee and water arrived 13 mins later and the coffee was luke warm. When the food arrived it came 1 plate every 4 mins (6 people). The waffles were so cold the room temp butter would not melt. Emma forgot several items and we had to keep asking for them. Long story short... If your childhood was filled with cheesy eggs and waffles... Your out of luck... Go somewhere else. Worst experience ever. Took way too long to get the order. Food was tasteless. I ordered Biscuits and Gravy. The waitress brought out the biscuits first. We had to ask her for the gravy. Well, I haven't been to Waffel House in 6 years, and my experience at the store was anxiety inducing and incredibly disappointing. I expected the restaurant to be busy, and I expected the wait time on food to be longer than normal because it's Sunday. I was in the service industry for 20 years, and it. What upset me the most was how terrible our server Emma was. It took almost 20 minutes to get drinks to us, and we didn't get everything we asked for. I'll be honest, I didn't go to Waffel House for the food. I came for the experience. She obviously was having a bad day or something, but seriously, even on my most awful days, I didn't let my distaine for the day ooze out of me and on to my customers. I truly felt like she didn't care if we were happy or not. I say this for many reasons, but one thing that tipped the scale from "ehhhh, its busy, maybe she hasnt been doing this long" to "WTF, lady! You're not even going to say sorry??" When she was clearing the table behind us, slamming dishes and such. Twice, she made me jump with how loud she was stacking plates. No apologies. The only thing she did, in my opinion, correctly was inform us she was running behind 15 minutes into our experience (with no drinks still). We tried to be nice, engage with her a little, and she blew off the niceites. When she started clearing the table behind us the first time and made me jump, I looked back, and she said nothing. A few minutes later, she finished clearing the table she was even louder. I looked at her, and I got nothing. As a vet in the business, I have a lot of understanding and compassion. If its clear the server is having a tough day, but they try not to project their personal feelings about their day on me, I ALWAYS show my appreciation in a 50% + tip. I don't go out to eat with people who are a$$holes to the FOH. I had to walk outside more than once to breathe because all I felt was anxiety and frustration from my companions and other diners. I have never wanted someone to lose their job before, especially as someone who's had days where we are under-staffed, over booked and I don't have time to take a piss, but I came really close today to wishing she would be. Whoever is managing/training the staff at this location, please take some time to work with her. Our bill was over 80 dollars, and I tuly wanted to stiff her and write "you're awful" on the tipline. We left a 15% percent tip instead. 100% won't be coming back, and I will 100% be laughing and saying "Oh my god, y'all remember that time we were so excited to go to WH for the *insert whatever menu item we were craving at the time* and how y our sever and food was. There was a raw egg on the floor and more raw eggs that must've been there for a while because the yolk was solid . What can we say?! Waffle House is hit or miss. I think our server was new, so we were like we'll give her a break. My order was not placed completely so instead of the Allstar breakfast I ordered I only got my scrambled eggs and a waffle. My grits & toast never showed up. But that wasn't the worst part, as I'm eating I noticed a little roach crawling on my wall right where I was sitting! I froze. My boyfriend killed it. We were almost done but I was ready to go. Our food had to be sent back twice, they weren't taking to go orders, and the biggest roach I have ever seen in my life was running laps in the restaurant. 3 stars still bc its Waffle House...they kept the coffee flowing while I was severely hungover. They don't lie to you like Olive Garden will - this is a no frills, upfront, and wholly unpretentious establishment. You know what to expect when you walk through those doors, and so do the Waffle House employees. For me, the biggest indicator of what I'm about to experience is when I see the cooks pop the good ol' Sunbeam bread (bought from Walmart) into the discount toaster, right in front of the patrons. Here's what I know: the food just tastes good. The waffle, doused in syrup, and, if you are so inclined, slathered in hydrogenated oil spread, is one of the better breakfast experiences you'll find anywhere, especially in a rinky dink part of the country. We went for breakfast this morning. This particular location is always very clean, and the service is fast and friendly. My kids and I always order the same things (kids waffles/bacon for them, texas bacon cheesesteak melt for me), but my husband usually bounces around between 3 or 4 different menu items. Today he went with the steak and eggs, and he said it was good. It definitely looked good. Like I said, I only order the texas bacon cheesesteak melt - no matter what day or time or location, that's the only thing I've ordered at a WH for years. It is the best thing on the menu. That being said, the one I had this morning is probably the best one I've ever had. And no, I wasn't hungover, ha! The bread was perfectly grilled and not smushed, and whoever was in charge of the cheese and onions was definitely on point. Even my kids said it looked good, and they're picky eaters. I should've taken a picture of it. And of course, the coffee. The "make it or break it" for me at any breakfast place or diner is coffee. WH never disappoints. read more

This had to be by far the nastiest Waffle House I have ever been in. It seemed ok at first, but once our server came to the table we noticed boogers hanging out of her nose and her nails were chewed terribly. The silverware was dirty so I had to ask for a cup of hot water to let them soak while our food was cooking. I pondered leaving right then but my husband and I are suckers for Waffle House, I just prayed over the situation. Amazingly, the server was actually getting off and only brought our drinks. We ordered orange juice and the glasses were very sketchy. Our food came brought over by the cook and it looked great! We started to eat with the silverware I cleaned and things were fine until I got to the grits in my All Star breakfast. They were cold as ice. And the waffle which came last was limp and rubbery! Why is it that you get your order in intervals? Ham first, about 3-5 minutes later eggs and hash browns that had to be sent back as they were clearly an afterthought because they were not done. My son had completely finished his whole meal and 10-15 minutes after, finally got attention of the wait staff and asked about his steak, they had forgotten and put it on at that point. Needless to say this place even though it's a Waffle House with a 98% sanitation rating, which is great, but their customer service is shaky at best! No cohesiveness at all. Asked for to go boxes and was completely ignored, when I said aloud to my son, sorry hon, I know we are on a time constraint and I can't do anything as I am waiting on to go boxes, then the lady that I had asked minutes prior asked man, remind me, how many boxes do you need again. Clearly acknowledgement that she remembered me asking but was in no rush to appease! Come on people, lest bring customer service back to the US and make it great again. If there were 0 stars that's what I would give. I have gone to Waffle House for years. The waitresses at 42 Waffle House will very seldom do eye contact to even take your order. I have never done a complaint on them, though.Then, today after at least 15 min. Wait to place order in person( they never pick up phone) the young man took order. Then after several other to go orders before me was delivered to them I went up to counter to see where my order was. The young man had never given my order to cook. He apologized. He did order to cook. Then 10 mins later order up. I had left a $1.50 tip on the $17.50 order. Git to car and my husband's eggs were scrambled not overnight as ordered. The saugage was there though and rest of food. He apologized and 5 mins later order up again. I took the 2 orders as saw eggs right now. Got home and the saugage no longer there. Well as Waffle Houses go this one is good. Stopped for dinner about midnight after leaving a concert down the road. Our waitress was polite our food was good and the atmosphere was friendly unlike some other waffle houses I have been to. Went here for Sunday breakfast and it was delicious!!! The bacon was perfectly crispy, the waffle was tasty and the eggs were cooked to perfection! All of the staff were very friendly and seemed to all get along very well. The service was fast and very good. Waffle House never ceases to amaze me. They are everywhere, consistently provide good food and very good service. This particular one is probably one of the best in the area. When we got there they were extremely busy so we had about a 10 min wait. We sat at the counter so we were able to watch the team in action. There is so much precision in how they announce the order, arrange it on the plates so they know what is supposed to be prepared, the actual cooking and serving. From the time we ordered until delivery was no more than 5 minutes, which is pretty good considering how busy they were. One of the staff celebrates his 1 year anniversary in 3 days. Another is about to graduate from wake tech and then going to State, she has been there 4 years next month. Waffle House over the years has been the brunt of many a joke. However, with the rare exception I have always found it to a great place ro get a good meal at a fair price. And since they are everywhere it's like always being at home.Was a great way to start the day. read more

I have been to so many waffle houses. In fact, I stopped going and only came to this one because I am with friends who forced me to come. And this is by far, the best one I've been to.
