    $25 beef brisket

If you like days old beef brisket for $25 .. this is the place for you. We are so disappointed in the decline of quality from this locally owned restaurant. Even the fat was dried out. Definitely not worth the price or calories. I expected juicy, smoky BBQ and got something that tasted old and reheated instead.

A simple old school very fresh BBQ joint. Great Chicken Ribs and more. Wish the cold salad sides were better like the slaw and tater salad but it's still good. Great sauces too. Owner is nice guy and talks to all who enter his humble place. Keep up the goodcwork. Anyone local should try this place. Support local.

This is a great little bbq place! Get there for their burnt tips days. Also the bag of pork rinds is a take home treat!

This unique…read morespot was definitely worth the short drive from the Raleigh area on a warm Sunday afternoon. There was a bit of a wait to sit outside - this place is POPULAR! But it was worth those few extra minutes for front row seats of the action on the tarmac below. We arrived during their lunchtime buffet hours, although you can also order from their regular menu. I'm not usually a buffet person, but since I wanted to try a little bit of everything it was definitely the way to go. For $18 I got some ribs, pulled pork, and BBQ chicken. Not to mention, a side of their delish cornbread, and a scoop of two of my Southern faves: mac & cheese and collard greens. Sadly, I was too full of the deliciousness to make a second trip, but if I had it would have been for a heaping pile of mashed potatoes and a generous scoop of their homemade peach cobbler. If you like airplanes and BBQ, add this to your list for your next visit to the area. They also have a full bar, though on this hot day we were happy with bottomless refills of their refreshing sweet tea.

We chose to get menus instead of the buffet and the pulled pork sandwich was so good and a really good size. The fries were seasoned so well!! I wish the brisket sandwich was bigger but it was good nonetheless and the hush puppies were very good.

Dinner was served family style, each course timed perfectly. We ate thru NC BBQ, chicken, deviled eggs, fried green tomatoes, hush puppies, brisket, greens, mac & cheese, carrot cake and double chocolate cake. Our server Billy was fantastic and nothing fazed him. Special orders, drinks, the entire evening he made look easy (and we know how hard he worked). The Pit enabled a wonderful evening - thanks to all the crew at The Pit that made it special.

The sampler has wings, pimento cheese balls, soul rolls and southern style deviled eggs. The wings had a good flavor to them very traditional bbq style taste, the cheese balls were right up my alley crunchy outside and gooey on the inside. My first time trying deviled eggs I can say they were actually pleasant. The soul roll had this good taste with a subtle head to it just to spice it up. Overall really enjoyable apps. With so many options to choose from we all ended up getting the Double combo. I had Brisket and bbq chicken with Mac n cheese, brussel sprouts and. Sweet potatoe casserole. The chicken was the only piece lacking in comparison to the others. The brisket was very solid, very good enough to order again. The sides however were amazing. The Mac and cheese had such a good taste to it, the brussel sprouts had a blend with bacon bits and something glazed on them that was perfect and the sweet potatoes was another great side addition to the rest. Service was great our waiter gave us suggestions and was very patient with us and even gave us some small servings on the house. Very great time in a place you should visit
