OK brisket sandwich from this food truck. Brisket seemed more like it was simmered than smoked. Was very juicy and tender, but a little too mushy. It was flavorful and lean. Cup of BBQ sauce (you have to ask for it) was tangy and delicious. Sandwich served on a potato roll. Mac n cheese was creamy, cheesy and excellent. Slaw was a vinegar based, and somewhat bland. Overall, this was an OK meal. Nothing special. Maybe ordering earlier in the day would yield a better cut of brisket?

Chicken wings with buffalo sauce and fries

This was one of five or six food trucks at a conference that I attended. To me they had the best menu so I got in their line. 1.5 hours later I finally made it to the front of the line to place my order. I was disappointed when I saw that there were only two people inside of the truck. With the large amount of people that were expected at the conference I would have expected more people to be working inside of the truck to prevent the long wait that we all experienced. I ended up ordering the chicken wings with a side of fries for $12. I was given the incorrect change after I placed my order. The correct change was provided without hesitation after I brought it to the cashiers attention. Some sauces, other condiments and utensils were out in front of the pickup window. I asked for napkins and I was given one. Since I had saucy wings I definitely needed more and I was given one additional one when I asked. My meal came with six wings and a small amount of fries. The fries were good but they were a little over cooked. When one of the employees gave me my food he asked if I wanted ranch for the wings. At first I said no then I decided to get it. He said the buffalo sauce was hot and it was. It was a little too spicy for me and I definitely needed the ranch to cool it down. The wings were good but I would get a different sauce if I decide to try the food truck again.

I ate at this food truck while attending a census event in Raleigh and they did not disappoint. Now, I'm a Carolina girl at heart so a good BBQ sandwich with some cole slaw is ALMOST the key to my heart lol. The BBQ was tasty. There wasnt a strong vinegar taste (which I liked) and the Cole slaw was not over mayo'd. I paired that with potato salad which was not my favorite (the potato's were a bit hard in my opinion and not enough mustard) I also got some BBQ wings which were ok but nothing to brag about. Will I eat here again ? Yes! Do I suggest you eat here ? YES!!

This food truck showed up at my job Friday. I wasn't going to try it but I noticed a lot of people going. I am glad I tried it! They have a lot of yummy options. Chicken, fish, shrimp, brisket and more. I decided to keep it simple and ordered fish and fries. The food was hot and fresh. Not too pricy and the wait wasn't too long! The four stars is because of their hot drink....they didn't have any ice and the drink wasn't chilled(that's a personal preference)

The best brisket, ribs, shrimp, sausage and fried okra around! Everything is perfectly seasoned, tender and filling. You will never be disappointed. And the service that James and Jamal gives is on point. Simply the best!!

Brisket sandwich and chicken leg with jerk sauce

Incredible brisket sandwich and chicken leg. Jerk sauce only has small kick as I like it unlike buffalo wild wings which is so spicy. Mac and cheese was very good but the creamy type rather than dry baked, just an FYI. Ranch is homemade. Well worth the money spent. Excellent service and guys who know their BBQ.

Ratio meat to bread? And that is just half the bread. Sliced way too thin and dry.

We had to wait around 15min but the food was pretty good. We wish there was a little more seasoning to add flavor but overall it was good food and worth the price. The amount of food was good as well.

Ever since trying some amazing ones in California and Florida, we've been on the lookout for something that hits that same note--and we may have found a solid contender. Out of the many food trucks selling empanadas, The Rican Lab stood out. Their empanadas didn't disappoint. The crust was just right--crispy, not greasy, and not overly doughy. I didn't get any of that lingering cooking oil taste, which is a huge plus. I went with the beef empanada, while my husband tried the buffalo chicken. The beef had good flavor, but it could have used a binding agent--maybe cheese or sauce--to hold everything together. It felt a bit loose, so I imagine the beef and cheese version would have had better structure. I also think using shredded or chunked beef might work better than ground beef for a more satisfying texture. The buffalo chicken empanada was the real winner--well-seasoned with just the right kick. Neither empanada was dry or overly saucy, but both could benefit from a solid dipping sauce to round them out. We also grabbed a cherry lemonade, which was wonderfully refreshing. It hit a perfect balance--not too sour, not too sweet, and just tart enough. Bonus points for the generous serving size--it definitely felt worth the price. Beyond the food, the event itself was an amazing experience. There were food trucks representing a variety of cultures--Laotian, Filipino, Greek, and more. The diversity of choices was exciting. On top of that, local performers added to the festive atmosphere with live music and dancing. All in all, the Raleigh' Annual International Food Truck Festival is a must-visit. If you're on the hunt for good eats and good vibes, this is the place to be. We're already looking forward to our next visit--and the next round of empanadas.
