Definitely coming back. Khao Sen has been added to my local Top 10. Very open, bright, and inviting enviornment. They offer table and booth options with available seating at the bar as well. The "front of the house" are, from what i can tell, an all woman brigade, ranging in ages, and they are all so awsome!! They all bring their own spirited personality. Khao Sen can get busy at times, and these amazing women "get to it". I've seen impatient customers get annoyed after 5 mins of waiting and it's super unfair to this amazing staff. The menu has selective, authentic flavors of Thailand, and every option will have you coming for more. For appetizers we've snacked on the vegetable gyoza (GYO PAK), crispy crab sticks served with sweet chilli sauce (so delicious), Tofu Tod, which i have to emphasize this part. In over 10 years, i've not once taken a second bite when it comes to tofu. Khao Sen has their tofu lighlty battered and fried so deliciously, with their sweet chilli and ground peanuts sauce to dip in. I not only had a second bite but i ate the entire appetizer. Even my vegan friend raves about the Tofu Tod. Ok ok, moving on......ohhh it really is good though, haha. Ok, next we've lip smacked on their steamed dumplings, stuffed with ground pork, shrimp, water chestnuts, onion, scallion, and cilantro, served with a sweet soy sauce (KANOM JEEP).....yes!!!!!. Lets talk chicken wings. Seriously, dang!! Their spicy Thai-style fried chicken wings served with sweet chili sauce (KAI ZAAP) are noise makers. Take a bite and tell me you didn't go "mmMMmm". Making our way on down the list is the tender baby back ribs coated with their southern Thai-style curry paste (SI - KRONG PAD PRIK). These are topped with saffron and very much another delicious option. That's it, we left some still on the menu for next time. Entrees!! I'm between favorites at the moment. The spicy tom yum soup with egg noodles, pork and shrimp dumplings, shrimp, ground pork, fish roll, fish ball, bok choy, cilantro, scallion, crispy wontons, ground peanuts, and fried garlic oil (BA MII TOM YUM) and the northern Thai-style curry, crispy skin chicken thigh, egg noodles, crispy egg noodle, cilantro, scallion, picked radish, shallots, and lime (KHAO SOI). Both are different in flavors but equally devine in their own respects. Now direct your attention to Khao Sen's roasted duck and gravy over rice with steamed Chinese broccoli, pickled ginger, cilantro, and scallion; served with a side of sweet dipping sauce (KHAO NA PED), another eye rolling meal!! You have the option of choosing a rice, white, fried, or berry (purple rice)...... i suggest the berry. The beef broth, thin rice noodles, sliced NY strip, stewed beef, beef tendon, beef ball, cilantro, scallion, and Chinese broccoli will have you talking while eating. My cousin couldn't stop raving about the flavor while eating. All this food talk has me thirsty. I can't get enough of the Lychee Tea which is green tea, lychee, and lychee jelly. My drink magically disappears the first 2 times, everytime, the waitress sets the glass down.....poof just disappears. So, i'm forced to order another . Their peach bellini and lychee saki mojito are aMAAAAZziiing. Delightful and refreshing. Seems to really be a common theme here. Everything is flavorful and refreshingly delicious from the food to the drinks. Khao Sen offers beer, wine, ciders, sake. For non-alchoholic drinks there's fountain drinks, coffe and teas, fruit teas, milk teas, fizzy drinks, milks, annnnnd water. Parking can be limited during rush hours. There is a parking garage currently being constructed, but for now there is a parking lot and street parking. Come one Come ALL! Take your tastebuds on down to flavortown and become a regular here at Khao Sen; we did!!!!! From the cleanlinesof the restaraunt to the

Every time I've came by this restaurant it is always buzzing with people and after trying 4 fantastic dishes from here I can understand why. The restaurant is nice and clean inside with a great menu with lots of variety and also so many fun drinks/teas to choose from. So far I have tried the shrimp and garlic, beef noodles, khao soi, and crab omelette. The khao soi and crab omelette were definitely my favorite dishes that I've tried and dishes I would order again and again. The khao soi is spectacular and also their most popular dish. Everything about this dish was exploding with flavor from the chicken to the broth. The crab omelette was such a comforting yet tasty meal and I love an egg and rice dish! Coming back to try more of the menu here is a no brainer.

The place and staff are welcoming as always. The food was delish! My favorite thing this time a year is the Mango Sticky rice ! Ambiance is pleasant not rushed !

Khao Sen is easily our new favorite Thai restaurant in the area because of the perfect curry flavors, beautiful atmosphere, and great service. Must order: khao soi and green curry with salmon We loved our khao soi (medium spice) and green curry with grilled salmon (medium spice). The flavors were really perfect, salmon was tender, and slapped on a cold day. We also ordered the spicy ribs, which were fantastic and super filling. We almost got full off eating the ribs alone that we took half our curry home. After overnight in the fridge, the leftovers were EVEN better the next day. The kids ordered the chicken and rice, and wow the char on the chicken is premium for a kids meal. What a gem of a restaurant for Fuquay Varina!!

We absolutely love Khao Sen!! The servers are kind and helpful, the ambiance is tastefully peaceful with soft music and minimal but beautiful decor and lighting. I have tried 4 main dishes here- the Khao Soi which is a delicious creamy, savory, spicy noodle soup with chicken, the Sen Lek Pak Ruam, a delicious savory vegetable noodle soup, the Khao Khai Jiao Pu which is a delicious slightly sweet crab omelette draped over rice, and the Khao Kai Yang which is a pretty good grilled chicken and rice dish with a spicy twangy sauce on the side. The Thai tea is delicious, and the boba and other teas and milks are very good, including the chocolate pink milk! The Moonlit Matcha (this is a special, not on the regular menu) was very tasty, too! We have also tried the Thai Tea Custard which is quite good, and the Thai Donuts which are very tasty and different! They're almost like a thick funnel cake texture and flavor mixed with a little bit of a hush puppy corn flavor. Overall, we love Khao Sen and will continue to come back for their delicious meals, drinks, and desserts! I would absolutely recommend them to friends and family!

This is a nice clean busy restaurant with a very friendly and responsive staff. We saw the reviews and figured we'd give it a spin. It is clear that the Khao Soi is a big draw and we normally would have tried it first but instead we tried other things that appeared appealing from the menu albeit a bit on the pricey side Frankly, they didn't wow us during this visit. We will try them again because the Khao Soi looked very appealing and will update the review when we do. Until then, 4 stars mostly because of the service and the promise of a better tomorrow.

Inside looks simple, tidy, serene and well-lit. Not sure how pack it gets but there are plenty of seating and looks like it's good for groups too. Food was great and if you like curry, I suggest Khao Soi. Other fam members like theirs too and our bowls looked clean after trying to eat every single piece or crumb of whatever. #latelunch LOL. The pork noodles come with a cup of soup too. They have kids meal but doesn't include any drink not side, which was a kinda pricey, esp for chicken fried rice. Although it would work as a main meal for an adult like me too, then it becomes affordable! LOL. Close to a residential area so there's a lot of to-go orders. Doesn't look like it affects the time of service for diners though. Definitely recommending for whatever reason - date, friends meal out, noodle craving, boba craving...

Khao sen is in a new development on the edge of town. When we first pulled in I wasn't sure that it would be very good, however I was pleasantly surprised. I loved the menu, it had a lot of great Thai dishes that you don't see at other restaurants, definitely went way beyond the basic pad Thai type staples you see at most places. The food itself was excellent, it was flavorful and well prepared and we liked every dish we ordered. The service was excellent, fast and friendly. Our server made great recommendations and was very professional throughout. The building is new so it kind of has a hip vibe, I liked the interior and it's really clean. The seats and tables are comfortable. I would definitely come here again, I highly recommend this place.

I ordered two Thai milk teas, without ice because I wanted to drink them later. This is what I got. I was hoping they would just mostly fill the cup. I did expect to get a less-than-full cup without the ice. But this is a little crazy. They are barely a third full. It's even more disappointing because this is the only place you can get it within at least 15 miles. I can't bring myself to pay 5.50 a piece if this is all the tea you get for that price. Food was decent.

This place is not what I was expecting for a Thai restaurant. My girlfriend's kids are Thai-born so I've eaten a lot of Thai food at a lot of places. The kids weren't especially thrilled with their food when they came another time without me. This restaurants is missing a lot of the traditional dishes such as pad Thai...I was completely disappointed this wasn't on the menu...as well as Thai curry dishes. I started with the crispy crab sticks which was pretty much crab rangoon in an egg roll instead of its normal shape. It was actually pretty good and probably my favorite things so far. The second thing I had was the salmon yum. It had no flavor at all and for raw fish, the color was very very muted which usually indicates low quality--I eat a ton of sushi weekly and debated on actually eating this. It wasn't cold either so that made me a bit concerned. For my main course I did the Khao Na Ped which is a duck based meal. The food was cooked perfectly but versus the flavorful Thai dishes that I'm used to I just found that most of the items lacked a lot of flavor and tasted very plain and mild. Everything looked pretty and was served quickly. As for the service, it could be a lot better especially at the price point. After I made my order I didn't see my server again until it was time for the check. This was a bit disappointing since I needed a refill and I had to flag down the hostess to get it for me. She did reappear when it was time to bring the check and claim a tip but where was she when I needed her? Never saw her out and they weren't busy, I was probably 1 of 5 tables in the entire restaurant. I will try it again but I don't see it being my go to for Thai food. Thai Thai and Osha in Holly Springs both have excellent Thai dishes and at a lot better value. I might have just talked myself into Thai takeout right now from one of them as I'm writing this review.

Yes- it's as good as everyone says. Such a chill, bright restaurant. Nice friendly servers; most amazing mango sticky rice I've ever had; beautiful drinks; and the khao soi Super authentic tastes!! Please open a location in Cary/Apex one day!!! But until then, I'll definitely make the drive down here again to try more things!

My husband took me here for Mother's Day lunch. First time. Service was excellent and the food was fresh. We started with the tofu appetizer. I had the duck and rice. My son had the chicken and rice and my husband had the tom ka soup. He asked for medium spice and ended up adding more spice. All very good. Will go back.

The Kai Zaap (Thai Spice Chicken Wings) are amazing!! If you have not tried them, get over here and grab a bite

This place was cranking out to go orders while we were there so I had a feeling it was a good spot. The interior is modest, but the staff are so sweet and attentive- any time a dish was ready they brought it out piping hot! Very much appreciated that! We started out with crab Rangoon. They were crispy, creamy, and overall a banger! My husband got the "ginger dish" with chicken; he went into a trance while eating it, started wolfing it down. He says it was light, sweet and savory, the ginger making it refreshing which was nice for the summer heat. I got the pad Thai with shrimp, the shrimp were absolutely perfect! Plump and juicy; the server had asked about my spice level (1/5) and I got a 2 which I think was also just right! I also am grateful they de-tailed the shrimp (some places don't) so you could just dig in and enjoy all the flavors with no hassle of pulling the tails off yourself. With summer winding down, and drizzly days ahead we are definitely looking forward to coming back and having another cozy dinner!

A nice perk of this spot is that it's just a stone's throw away from free and plentiful lot parking. I'd make a reservation if you plan to come here on a weekend for dinner. The place was bustling, with almost all the tables full. It's bright, airy and modern looking inside. Which makes it the perfect place for a date night or celebration spot. At the same time, it's not stuffy or overly fancy. The menu is comprehensive with Thai favorites like Pad Thai and Pad See Ew with a large number of Japanese and Sushi items on the back. My friends tried the Thai Spicy level and I will say it was pleasantly hot without burning your tongue off. I ordered the bento box and was really happy with the quality of the sashimi and nigiri. Everything was tasty, and the portions were more than satisfying. If I had to make a nit on something that I didn't love (it's hard!), I'd say that the rice texture wasn't my favorite. It was a little dry. But other than that, I would definitely consider it for another night out.

She was so kind and was the absolute best part of our visit. She gave a range recommendations, very professional, and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy the meal. We are coming from the Irvine, CA area so we VERY familiar with top tier Asian food and possibly that impacted our standards vs others in the review section. Now on to the rest, there were so many flies that I ended up having to smash them on the window with a napkin--just gross! Then, my son's food was not flavored well at all and had HAIR in his noodles! The Pad Thai was really bad! It was a lighter color first of all, so maybe they added an ingredient that isn't standard in traditional Pad Thai, but it did not make it better at all; I could barely stomach it. Then, there was a huge egg shell in the dish that somehow the cook let come out and served to us. The sweet and sour chicken portion was outrageously small for a dinner portion, and the dish was smothered with sauce but somehow the chicken was dry as if it was day old or several days old chicken. The cashew chicken, the same, dry chicken that was being covered up with the sauce and we had to chew a great deal. The sweet tea, it just tasted like they put a bunch of sugar packets in and was worse than a McDonald's sweet tea. Their white rice was not moist at all and we could've just done without it. Out of the sushi we ordered, the spicy tuna was good, but the rest was grocery store quality sushi and extremely small portion. In my opinion, people rave about this place because it is 'different' and plays into an upscale restaurant as you can see with their overpriced items. This place doesn't hold a candle to shopping center Thai fusion in California. I have lived in many states and am not a snotty Californian, but man oh man I can tell you this one is a fail. The only star for this visit goes to the waitress (she was a 5) but if I could give this a zero for the food, I would. Don't waste your time or money.

(Appreciated). Food wise we grabbed the calamari, some spicy wings and some steamed dumplings to start. Dumplings were decent. Calamari was pale and could have been fried harder. Also, it was a weird cut....long flat pieces instead of the circular cuts I'm used to. My kids loved it, but def not the best I've had. The wing sauce was a highlight. We asked for hot, but as a table if west Indian people, the heat level was mild. The wings were also slightly less done than I like. They were drowning in a plate of sauce though. I'm wishing i would have taken the sauce to go and refired some wings at home and put em under the broiler so the sauce would have caramelized on the meat. They had all the elements, but that would have def improved the flavor and texture there. For entrees, we got a Chicken Pad Thai (my son called it a spiritual experience) , two orders of pad see ew with crispy tofu and one Drunken Noodle with Pork. I didn't taste the pad Thai so can't cosign my son's review. The sauce on the pad see ew was the highlight. The tofu was under done (not crispy), and the Drunken noodles were decent. For the Triangle, this was great Thai. Comparing to all the other Thai I've had in life, this was ok. But if they want to seel their sauces on the side, I would def grab some of those and chef it up at home. Staff was friendly and attentive. Felt like family owned - no pretense, just helpful people.
