MULLIGATWANI SOUP

This place is simply fantastic!! I came to this restaurant because the reviews were very good and this place was even better than I had hoped! The food is a delicious fusion of flavors from China, India, and Thailand - all cuisines that are among my favorite. The choices here are wide and delicious - spring rolls, momos, Thai and Indian soups, noodle and fried rice dishes, naan and roti breads and so much more! If you come here arrive early as this cozy small restaurant quickly fills up. Even though it gets very busy, service is quick and the staff are always pleasant.

Very delicious authentic Thai & Indian food. Flavors were very delicious but not too spicy!

Drunken Noodles

Basil 'n Spice is serving up your favorite Thai, Indian and Chinese dishes in one spot. I dined in for lunch and ordered the lunch portion of the drunken noodles with chicken and a low spice level. It was tasty and a sizable portion. I'll have to return soon to try more menu options.

KORMA

We had a great first-time experience here. We tried the Lamb Korma, Chicken Pad See Yew, and steamed momo dumplings--all of it was really good. I'm picky about Pad See Yew, but the noodles were cooked just right and had great flavor. Everything we ordered was above par. Aryan was our server and did a great job--super attentive and answered all our questions. We'd definitely come back!

6 o'clock fried rice with basil

The ambience was a little better than expected since it's in the strip mall. The staff was courteous and quick. We got a complementary dipping sauce. The bar offered wine and beer which was a nice surprise. Being from Hawaii, I am very picky about my Chinese Japanese or Thai food. The 6 o'clock fried rice with sweet basil was good. I would give it a four out of five. However, the Hawaiian chicken was out of the park definitely a five. We will be back to try other dishes.

I ordered the Myra Fried Rice, which at $24 was kind of steep. I noticed lots of typos on the menu (Fried was written as Fied multiple times), so that's something that management should probably fix. Anyway, my wife got the Thai Beef Salad, which was a more palatable $15. The food arrived soon afterwards, and it was... OK. The rice had a nice texture to it but the chicken was super anemic - it looked like it had been boiled or something. The beef was decent, though. My wife really loved her salad, and I enjoyed the flavor of that way more than my own dish. To adjust the spice on my dish, the server brought over chili flakes like you'd get at a pizza joint (but in a nicer looking vessel). They did spice up my meal but I guess it struck me as a little strange. The portion size was decent but I ate most of it in one sitting. Overall, I wouldn't say it was a terrible experience, but I'm not sure I would come back for $24 fried rice with bland chicken.

Food: small menu which I do not have any problem with. When I go to Thai/lao restaurants, I always order papaya salad - which will tell me everything and what kind of food I can expect. Very simple taste- that doesn't mean bland. It captures sweet, savory and tang. Ordered green curry. Good flavor but almost bland - it can improve on the ingredients. Khao soi noodles again, taste good but missing something - All the dishes tried seems it was missing fish sauce flavor and more, which all dishes didn't seem to reflect traditional deep flavors. The chicken wings were pretty good. Wish the skin was crunchy and had a better batter. The hat yai dry rub was good, salty and sour but kind of reminded me more like tajin. My son really loved it. Service: yin and yang. One older lady who served our table was nice and attentive. The other supporting female staff there was unfriendly, almost seemed mad at the world. Slow service. Price: I don't know why NC charges so much for Asian food in general. I can't say it's outrageously expensive or reasonable price for the genre of this food. All in all, not a bad tasting food. It captured good flavor and has potential. I felt that the dishes are made afraid to show the real flavor traditional Thai flavor. May be good for entry -level food exploring.

A nice perk of this spot is that it's just a stone's throw away from free and plentiful lot parking. I'd make a reservation if you plan to come here on a weekend for dinner. The place was bustling, with almost all the tables full. It's bright, airy and modern looking inside. Which makes it the perfect place for a date night or celebration spot. At the same time, it's not stuffy or overly fancy. The menu is comprehensive with Thai favorites like Pad Thai and Pad See Ew with a large number of Japanese and Sushi items on the back. My friends tried the Thai Spicy level and I will say it was pleasantly hot without burning your tongue off. I ordered the bento box and was really happy with the quality of the sashimi and nigiri. Everything was tasty, and the portions were more than satisfying. If I had to make a nit on something that I didn't love (it's hard!), I'd say that the rice texture wasn't my favorite. It was a little dry. But other than that, I would definitely consider it for another night out.

Holy!! We had expectations from all of the recommendations, but what a complete disappointment…read more First let's start with the only positive-- the waitress and her service was perfect. She was so kind and was the absolute best part of our visit. She gave a range recommendations, very professional, and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy the meal. We are coming from the Irvine, CA area so we VERY familiar with top tier Asian food and possibly that impacted our standards vs others in the review section. Now on to the rest, there were so many flies that I ended up having to smash them on the window with a napkin--just gross! Then, my son's food was not flavored well at all and had HAIR in his noodles! The Pad Thai was really bad! It was a lighter color first of all, so maybe they added an ingredient that isn't standard in traditional Pad Thai, but it did not make it better at all; I could barely stomach it. Then, there was a huge egg shell in the dish that somehow the cook let come out and served to us. The sweet and sour chicken portion was outrageously small for a dinner portion, and the dish was smothered with sauce but somehow the chicken was dry as if it was day old or several days old chicken. The cashew chicken, the same, dry chicken that was being covered up with the sauce and we had to chew a great deal. The sweet tea, it just tasted like they put a bunch of sugar packets in and was worse than a McDonald's sweet tea. Their white rice was not moist at all and we could've just done without it. Out of the sushi we ordered, the spicy tuna was good, but the rest was grocery store quality sushi and extremely small portion. In my opinion, people rave about this place because it is 'different' and plays into an upscale restaurant as you can see with their overpriced items. This place doesn't hold a candle to shopping center Thai fusion in California. I have lived in many states and am not a snotty Californian, but man oh man I can tell you this one is a fail. The only star for this visit goes to the waitress (she was a 5) but if I could give this a zero for the food, I would. Don't waste your time or money.
