Great food. Surprisingly so. Pulled pork and sausage are excellent. They were out of brisket when I visited but I'm convinced that it's equally special. Customer service was decent. The BBQ sauces are flavorful and perfectly blended. I'll visit again when I'm in the area. You should, too.

St Patty's day! Corned beef sandwich with provolone, yellow mustard on a Martin's potato bun. DELICIOUS. Also picked up a 1/2 pound of burnt ends, accompanied by slice of cornbread. Dinner! Quick order at the drive thru. excellent service, timing and friendly server Explained burnt ends. I've enjoyed on previous vIsits, but never knew if they were pork or beef. BEEF! Casual atmosphere. Enjoy!

Been coming here for years now and it's just the best all the way around. Burnt ends, brisket, sides and all.

This place is amazing! I'm not going to lie I was reconsidering trying it out just because it's located in a gas station which isn't always the best type of food. But this place changed that theory for me, I got the fat redneck and a large side of jalapeño Mac and cheese. Only regret is not getting an order to go! They have plenty of seating inside and they also have a lot of trophy's and metals they've won in bbq competitions, which is pretty neat. Will definitely be returning!

We drove off of I-95 about 8miles to get here. Sounds so good and it was worth the side trip for lunch while traveling. The wife and I both got the pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw on the side. I got combo with potato salad and a drink. There are 5 different BBQ sauces to pick from. It on the side of a BP gas station. They have small main room and bigger second room to handle the crowd. Service was quick and one the guys walk around taking trays and refilling drinks. If you like good BBQ (they lots of awards) then I highly recommend you make a stop here.

Currently staying in Benson, North Carolina at the McGee Crossroads RV Park and stumbled across The Redneck BBQ Lab. Just let me say this place is the gem of BBQ! Our first visit was yesterday and the line was really long and the drive through was just as long! I realized why this place was packed after eating their pulled pork! We luved it so much that we went back again today for the brisket and burnt ends! The sides are amazing, service is super friendly and they have a great dining area as well. We are looking forward to trying the breakfast menu next!

Amazing BBQ considering it's next to a gas station. The brisket was spot on. Order at counter & pick-up. The dole whip is to die for.

Redneck Barbecue Lab was a mixed bag in the best-and-worst way. The brisket sandwiches and smoked turkey were really good, and the BBQ sauce options were the cherry on top. The decor is awesome--super country and exactly what you'd expect from the name. But the ambiance felt mid, and the staff/service was almost non-existent--our food took forever to hit the table. Prices were a little high for the portions, but overall we still had a great experience.

Need fuel for our car and our body, this was perfect! Drive thru was quick, food was well packed and delicious! I didn't try all the different sauces, but my pulled pork was on point! Also the dole whip and dirt cups tasted as good as they looked.

Fun stop after finding a geocache nearby. Cute decor in line with their menu. Line moved pretty quickly. Good chopped chicken sandwich and collards on the side.

A must go in NC for sure! When you walk in the walls are covered with plaques and trophy's they have won and so well deserved! They are popular so expect a little bit of a wait but nothing too bad. When we went we maybe waited to order and then waited for food for half an hour at most. Seatings a little limited when busy but we found a spot. They also have outdoor picnic table seating. It's attached to a gas station so it's definitely a tiny but cozy atmosphere. Everything was delicious! The mac and the beans were our favorite sides. The staff was absolutely amazing. They were moving so fast and still so friendly and welcoming. Would definitely stop by again on our way to Wilmington. Great pit stop to stretch your legs, fill up on gas, and get some flavorful homestyle cooking!

A cool rural farm and barn interior with old signs sharing a space with a BP gas station north of Benson . Very friendly and helpful staff. There was a line but it went pretty fast, plus I was inside all the time and not in the heat for about 30 minutes. AC and fans, yeah! First time here, so I went hog wild so to speak. I got 5 1/4 lb serving of meat and one side. Had to try the collards which were good but average. The cornbread came free which was good because unfortunately it was sweet not just good old buttermilk. Luckily I was there on a day when they have burnt ends and jalapeño cheese sausage. The sausage was very juicy and cheesy with a bit of heat. The pulled pork was good but sang with the vinegar sauce. The brisket tasted good if a bit dry which was fixed with their smoky sauce. I really enjoyed the smoked turkey with their sweet and spicy sawse. But the best was the Burnt Ends, delicious! I'd be coming here again but I heard they've opened up a place in North Hills Raleigh which is closer to home, but if you're near there you need to stop in. My bill was $42.25 before tax, but worth it.

It was dead inside but gradually filled up during my half hour there. The place had a very down home feel, if you know what I mean. My order didn't take particularly long, but the take-out scene seemed more popular than the sit-down. Almost like nobody wanted to wait. I get that. The string beans and cabbage were as routine as possible. Seemingly no different than what you'd find at Cracker Barrel or a Bob Evans. But the hush puppies were some of the best I've ever had. Soft and flavorful on the inside; firm, with a mild crunch on the out. They didn't have the sandwich I wanted so I asked for a bun to make my own. And I did. I went in expecting to mix hearts with gizzards but instead they offered livers. I made due. I won't do that again. The iron flavor is too much. Next time, I'll stick with gizzards. They were good. Especially with lots of hot sauce. Best, A.

Being a fan of non-chain local spots, all of them have their quirks and this one's is pretty simple: They have 2 front doors yet one is the entrance and one is the exit. Both are clearly marked and steps from each other; impossible to miss. Upon entering, you seat yourself, a friendly waitress takes your drink order then its on you to lay back your ears and dive in the buffet. Next nifty quirk are the buffet plates: Real glass, y'all! Plenty of places claim to have soul food but how many of them serve up food on proper plates with proper utensils?! As you can see from my plate, all the bases are covered and you won't leave hungry. Trout, fried chicken, baked chicken, sketti, Mac & cheese, slaw, tater salad, collards, black eye peas, taters and gravy... Now unlike most places I must admit, if you have it in you to do so -leave room for desert!- I didn't get a pic of the 2 different types of cake I ate so someone else can brag on those after taking my advice to stop on in. I even joked that the reason we can't have places like this in the city is because people like me would order a coffee and pay for the buffet, but simply sit and eat a little over a quarter of one of those splendid cakes : D

It's been family owned since 1930! Everyone we encountered was very friendly. Including the local sheriff who was the cashier. We were greeted by a friendly server and a basket of hush puppies and a bucket of honey butter. We ordered a little of everything.
