Cold with the back door opening constantly. Nice decor. Decent food and service. The chili was good and the burger I had did not disappoint. Located in a lovely historic downtown area. A good stop when you're out shopping. Full service bar.

I stopped here for a quick bite after reading the positive reviews. This was my first time here and last. The service was slow, which I can deal with if it's busy but it wasn't. There was one other table of 2 when we walked in. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak that was recommended by the server. I received a hoagie with barely any meat. I even hollowed out the bread to try to make the scale of meat and bread even, didn't help as you can see in the photo. Very disappointing $17 meal. Do not recommended.

Nice clean restaurant good atmosphere. Rueben was delicious but would have preferred my Cuban sandwich on a roll.

Good food, friendly staff, pleasant atmosphere! Convenient location off I 95. Pastrami sandwich was full of flavor with just enough mustard and sauerkraut. We enjoyed the fried pickles, house salad was fresh!

Ordered a plate to go and it looked very good. Potatoecake was good. The Mac and cheese was ok very creamy but didn't taste cheesy and needed a little flavor. The chicken was cooked prefect but it lack seasoning all together meat and crust. Sauce to put on was very good I put it on everything

While in Smithfield, I stopped at Sodosopa for lunch. You seat yourself and a menu is brought to your table. I went with the pulled pork. It came with two sides and coleslaw. I was given two types of sauce but only had the sweet sauce. The portion of the meal was good and I couldn't finish but I was not offered a to go box. I chose broccoli and mac n cheese for the side. I'd eat here again next time in Smithfield.

Smoked chicken salad wrap with the brocolli... I mean french fries.

Nice spot in Smithfield downtown area to meet and eat. They have a respectable BBQ game with sandwiches, unique apps, tasty 'zerts and a full bar. We had the pulled pork Rangoon for an appetizer - very good and fried perfectly. Not greasy at all. I ordered the smoked chicken salad wrap with fries (asked for brocolli though). Very good chicken salad and the best fries in town. My partner got the shrimp and grits dish, it was also flavorful. I want to go back to try their Beast Feast as well as their pastrami Ruben.

The food is okay. Nothing really stood out but the service always makes up for it and the decor and vibe are always very comforting.

The Gilded Pear Brew House - Super cute inside with tons of seating

The Gilded Pear Brew House

The Gilded Pear is located in Downtown Smithfield. It is located in the Hood-Spiers Building, which…read morehas been restored. It was built in 1900 and still has the original tin ceiling, decorative windows and exposed brick. Seating is on two floors, providing a cozy feel if sitting in the loft. They have the "Pear Necessities of Life" This is both a cafe for coffee and teas but also a bakery that serves breakfast and lunch. They are known for their bubble waffles, and crepes. But also have a large menu that has sandwiches, salads, flat breads and breakfast items. There should be something that appeals to even the pickiest eater. Ordering is done at the counter, and you receive a number, and the beverage and food are brought to your table. The menu is posted outside the entrance so you can check it out first. I went with a rose and cranberry lemonade that was a drink special, and the bubble waffle, and added strawberries and bananas. The bubble waffle intrigued me as I had never had one before. It is a honeycomb waffle popular in Hong Kong. It is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It looks like bubble wrap, which is hard to tell as mine was covered in strawberries and bananas. I enjoyed the texture and flavors of it. The Gilded Pear is a great addition if you're looking for somewhere to grab a quick bite to eat.

The barista was very helpful. I asked her opinion about a couple of different things, I ended up with the coconut drink that was on special for the month. It was amazing. I sipped it as I walked through old historic Smithfield. The space itself you can tell a lot of love and thoughtfulness goes into the store. Everything was very clean, I love that they were cute messages on the cups, little positivity in this day and age really goes a long way. Everything at the Guilded Pear seems to be made with kindness and consideration.

The walls are decorated in sports memorabilia and September 11th tributes. When you walk in, you will see the Statue of Liberty. I tried to sit in the Mets section, but that was taken as it is a busy place, so I sat near the Yankees. I was ok with the photo of Don Mattingly and don't hate the Yankees, I just love the Mets. I made sure to spend some time in that section before leaving, seeing the 1986 tributes to Mike Piazza, Jose Reyes, and David Wright. It is just fun to be surrounded by the memorabilia. The sandwiches also follow in the New York theme. I ordered the Mr. Met, it had ham, turkey, and roast beef with lettuce, provolone, and tomatoes. I've had it before, so I knew it was good and ordered the full size rather than a half. I enjoyed every bite of it. The service was friendly, and they have daily specials with a different sub featured each day. The food was prepared fresh and fast. If you are looking for a high-quality sub, this is the place to order from.

I told her I love meat of all kinds. She recommended and I thoroughly enjoyed The Dark Knight. It was loaded with meat and it was so big the gentleman who created it saw the "I'm so full" look on my face and offered to wrap the other half, which he did so carefully and tightly to hold it together. I took some great photos of their amazing deli. I recommend if you are in Smithfield, you must experience Gotham's Deli.

The reviews had me questioning it but then I read the complaints and gave it a try. Glad I did. The cooking style of the seafood is not my style so that was not an option but the Asian items on the menu caught my eye. The Captial is located in a strip mall and plenty of parking is available if you drive. Once entering the decor is very neat and interesting. Sort of beach cross with modern cross with Asian influences. Interesting. I eat at the bar so I don't tie up a table s they were busy. Good flow and the bar was wide open. I had the black garlic what ever. This was my second try of this style. The host was very informative and gave very sound advice on the menu. The item was delicious. Very filling and one's unable to eat it all. I also had a delicious Old Fashion to go with it. Maybe not a common pairing but delicious nonetheless. Definitely another place to add to rotation when I am in town.

There is no sense of urgency. To order, or get order or get check. Chicken yellow was missing egg, cabbage and the 'grilled chicken' was actually pressed chicken. Old dry. Picture a turkey breast trussed with string from Butterball, ugh. Broth was spicy enough, heat but no flavor. Won't return. Disappointing considering the price.
