Anytime we are in a city, I always seek a mom and pop and LISTEN, just go!!!! The service was awesome, the food was hot, fresh and delicious. The decor was just what you would want for an establishment. I love the gloves asked to be warn when fixing plates because let's just be honest, everyone isn't as clean as the next person so that was refreshing for a buffet to have in use. Highly recommend!!!

Out to see the Meadow lights and was told to eat supper here. So glad I did. For $16 the buffet was well worth it and that includes tax. A drink is extra by maybe a buck. Buffet style or menu. The place is packed. Families with young children and senior citizens all filing up the place. I guess it is the only restaurant in the area. Talk about home cookin... It is Friday, so it is Seafood buffet tonight. Nice salad bar with fruit, a good selection of veggies, creamy homemade potato salad and good coleslaw. There is a seafood bar full of fried fish and chicken. I had chicken, shrimp and scallops but there was a lot more fried fish. Another bar had spaghetti, collards, green beans, I think Salisbury steak/hamburger. And then there is the dessert bar filled with seven different cakes, two pies, and OMG warm banana pudding. I grew up with banana pudding but it was always served cold. Never had it warm and I have to say I like it. They also have at least five different ice creams. Waitresses are friendly and very busy. One can order off the menu as my friend did. She got a hamburger all the way including coleslaw. She said it was very good and it cost less than $3. If ever on the I40 between Benson and Newton Grove take exit 334 and go south to Hwy 50 and you will run in to it. ENJOY!

My goodness such a diamond in the rough!! This family owes restaurant has some of the most wonderful country fare! Delicious fried chicken, tender pot roast and potatoes, and delicious country style steak! And the veggies taste fresh and seasoned to perfection! The corn tasted like it was cut off the cob, canned in mason jars with salt and sugar and served with buttery goodness! The salad bar was fresh and light, with everything from crispy veggies to fruit and toppings! And don't even get me started on the dessert! Hand scooped ice cream, homemade chocolate, 7-8 different types of cake and banana pudding to die for! A nice little place to stop and eat otw to or from the coast! Great quiet family atmosphere. I highly recommend it. It was so good I can only show you how much we ate as the remains of the table when we were completely stuffed!

Underwhelming. Buffet selection is limited and quality is meh. But it's a very popular local lunch spot.

Meadow is the exception--its fried chicken, dressing, and biscuits are as good as those of my family matriarchs.

Most gluten-free store-bought items taste like sawdust and cardboard. Not here. I can say with certainty that the baked goods here rival gluten containing baked goods. Their oatmeal or chocolate chip creme sandwiches are my favorite. Cinnamon roles a close second. If you're trying to keep your house gluten free without making non-gluten-free household members sad from low quality poor tasting GF food...then this is where you need to shop. I can certify that I am not sad eating GF goods from here whereas I am with popular name brands such as Udis. As a West Virginian, I have rarely seen pepperoni rolls made outside of WV except here. For them to be gluten free I've never seen anywhere else. They are exceptional especially if you put them in a toaster oven and let the cheese melt and the pepperoni sizzle and the bread get a little toast on it. This is an extremely small shop with no public restroom. Most of the items are frozen but they do have fresh daily offerings. They will heat up items for you such as a cinnamon roll if you can't wait to get home, just ask! As with all things GF, there is a GF-tax. It is expensive. But again, most GF people are not surprised they have to pay a little extra. JP's shows you why it's worth it though.

We were pretty impressed at the large variety of gluten-free items (e.g., pies, rolls, bread, cakes, Mac n Cheese, Chicken Nuggets, etc.). The pies we got were both very good. The apple pie had a lot of delicious crumbles on top. We pre-ordered the pies so they were ready when we dropped by for pickup.

We got vanilla with sprinkles, golden cookie crunch, banana pudding, and butter pecan all on waffle cones for $23 - such a great value for the quality and portion. Every flavor was creamy and delicious, and you can tell it's real homemade, small-batch ice cream. What really made it was the service - Emmanuel and his coworker were absolutely PHENOMENAL. So friendly, patient, and welcoming. We sat in and enjoyed it. The shop is nicely decorated, has ample seating for all size parties, and was exceptionally clean. You can just feel the real country mom-and-pop establishment love in there. This is Benson's hometown favorite for handcrafted ice cream for a reason. Do NOT leave Benson without stopping here - homemade, delicious with unique flavors. We'll definitely be back!

I had no clue what to expect being a first time patron. My spouse had been here several times and was always raving about how good it was. The stars aligned and we finally made it during a meal time. We came in and ordered and paid at the counter, found our seats, and then waited while our food was being prepared. There's something to see on every wall, and you can tell they know what they're doing with all of the trophies on display that they've won throughout the years. The indoor seating isn't too ample, so don't plan a family reunion, but it can hold a few families at dinner time. There's not a bad meat on the menu. If you're a vegetarian, this is not your new favorite spot. We got their brisket, chicken leg, and smoked turkey. The sauces at the table were tasty, and everyone found a favorite. We were thankful for the ample supply of paper towels, because our littles chowed down and needed to be wiped clean. This Redneck BBQ Lab knows what they're doing. On this particular night, they had too many leftover chicken halves towards the end of the evening, and were selling them half off, so we ate our food, and then got chicken to go for a future meal. Stop in and try it sometime.
