Solid little cafe. They out source some items, like their Indian snacks. Others are made on site. The boba and teas. Breakfast review. Decent sandwhich. Nothing outstanding nut nothing wrong. Store bread. Eggs fresh. Offered with may and cheese. There is Hershey ice cream. A full lunch deli selection. More vegan and gluten free baked items are on a grab and go cooler. This cozy spot has room to sit and is trying hard to fill a niche. Third space, breakfast spot, lunch, snack, dessert. If it figures out how to make more in house items, or picks a more definite identity, I have no doubt they will be around for a while. Went back repeatedly for tea. Enjoy local.

The service was excellent and the coffee was great. The breakfast sandwich was a bit dry but tasty. Location is convenient but easy to miss because it is attached to a convenience store. It is just off I-95 so a great spot for travelers in need of good coffee. They have a large, professional, espresso "machine." These folks are serious about their coffee products!

Locally owned coffee shop right off 95 in Benson. It is attached to a gas station. My family and I spent the night in Dunn, NC on our way from Tampa to Pennsylvania. I wanted to grab a coffee from a local shop before getting back on 95 and heading north. While there were a few options, only one seemed to be open on Sunday morning. That was The Grind. We rolled in at 9:12. Online it said they opened at 9. I pulled the door. Locked. There were no hours on the door. Great, hoodwinked. Corporate coffee here I come. As I waited for a break in the pouring rain, a car pulled up and honked at me. Out steps the owner and his employee. They opened the shop. I stepped in and grabbed a cold brew (they serve Larry's Coffee) with oat milk. It was a good cold brew, that the employee asked if he could adjust in any way. I told him he did it well the first time and we continued our journey. Loved the cold brew and locally owned vibes.

The Grind has very good bacon, egg, and cheese bagel sandwiches. I've also had an iced coffee and an iced flat white and their average.

However, we have been coming for several years now since moving close by (it was formerly Steve's) and the service here is incredibly SLOW. There are just so many things that don't make sense. Staff will take maybe one or two orders at a time and practically fully complete them before taking the next order, leaving guests standing there for so long. I understand it gets busy here, but there HAS to be a better system. When it was formerly Steve's, they had a ticket pull system which seemed to work way better. The staff also don't seem to care about their appearance WHATSOEVER. One particular individual has an almost entirely bleached t-shirt with bleached hand prints on it...does the owner not supply new shirts for the staff?!?! 8/10 times that I order here, my food is completely wrong. Sometimes I even have to repeat myself multiple times just to get what I'm saying to be written down on the order sheet...it's nonsense. Honestly, I'd rather leave a lower review, but the bagel sandwiches are just phenomenal in my opinion when I get what I asked for on it! It's not the food here that sucks, it's the service! If the food tastes amazing I'm still coming, but I really wish the new owner could figure out something to get things moving quicker and the staff caring more about their appearance! I'm happy to update my review in the future if the service improves. Lastly, there really needs to be a blower above the door to keep flies out. The flies hanging around all those bagels is less than appetizing..

However, noteworthy for this review is their catering. Yesterday they catered my daughter's sorority brunch (for 1200 people). Given the size and the hectic football weekend my expectations were for a cold unremarkable bagel. Boy, did they blow past my expectations. Somehow, they delivered warm delicious bagel sandwiches and the fruit- the fruit was something I would have expected out of a gourmet market. I loved the place's aesthetic; it truly captures the feel of a nice, no-frills NYC deli. The pricing felt a little high for the portion size of the breakfast sandwich, but not wildly unreasonable for a popular spot. I ordered the egg, cheese, and sausage on a cheddar jalapeño bagel. I'm admittedly picky when it comes to bagels as my family is from Jersey, so my standards are pretty set. While the bagel was good, it did feel a bit overhyped. As a visitor, I'm not sure what the local competition is like, but I was expecting more of that signature NY-style chewiness. Still, it was a solid option overall and clearly a fan favorite.

I've been to NYC numerous times over the years, and always make sure I hit up an authentic NY bagel joint. Not kidding, New Garden Bagel could easily be one of those spots. They make the perfect NY style bagel, crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside, absolutely delicious all over. We had a jalapeño cheddar, everything and sesame bagel. All 3 were the perfect NY style I've grown to love. We asked for the sesame with the jalapeño spread which was super tasty. We also got a tub of the bacon scallion spread, thinking we'd take some home. It was so good we gobbled it up with the 2 other bagels right there in one sitting. Small and cozy inside with super friendly staff. They have sandwiches, breakfast, lunch, coffees galore, both sweet and savory spreads, and most importantly...Dr. Brown's sodas. Can't find that at many places around here. If we want a true NY style bagel, this is our go to spot from here on out. Go and try them out if you haven't already, you won't be disappointed!

When I walked in, there were two people in front of me, and I noticed a few bags on the back counter. I'm glad someone asked if anyone was there just to pick up, that made it easy to grab and go. My sandwich was great! Lots of crispy turkey bacon as I requested. No butter or jelly squirting out the side from slathering it on like other places. It was perfect! Only 4 stars because being efficient is extremely effective during a busy morning and there should be a dedicated person to hand out pick up orders instead of having one line for everything.
