Extremely slow service with a worker who didn't seem to have any knowledge of the food or how to cook it. Our food kept getting mixed up with another customers order , she was making multiple orders at the same time, which got her confused and flustered. The quality of the food was worse than a school cafeteria. The "sourdough" bread was cheap white sliced generic bread, the bacon was burned, the cheese, which was an "add on" was sliced kraft cheese that wasn't even melted. read more

Solid little cafe. They out source some items, like their Indian snacks. Others are made on site. The boba and teas. Breakfast review. Decent sandwhich. Nothing outstanding nut nothing wrong. Store bread. Eggs fresh. Offered with may and cheese. There is Hershey ice cream. A full lunch deli selection. More vegan and gluten free baked items are on a grab and go cooler. This cozy spot has room to sit and is trying hard to fill a niche. Third space, breakfast spot, lunch, snack, dessert. If it figures out how to make more in house items, or picks a more definite identity, I have no doubt they will be around for a while. Went back repeatedly for tea. Enjoy local. read more

The service was excellent and the coffee was great. The breakfast sandwich was a bit dry but tasty. Location is convenient but easy to miss because it is attached to a convenience store. It is just off I-95 so a great spot for travelers in need of good coffee. They have a large, professional, espresso "machine." These folks are serious about their coffee products! read more

I figured that would be a good on the road lunch, but the sandwich was so loaded, I had to sit and eat it. Cleanest restaurant and bathroom I have ever been in. Service was friendly. Fantastic outpost of flavor! Vegan options, Indian food, ice cream, and coffee! I had spring rolls and samosas. Both are baked. The flavors of the samosa are spicy and tasty. Not too flaky, which is great for driving. The spring rolls are not east-Asian style, but are more Indian style. Those are also good, but not what you'd expect. Pull over and make this your break while on your 95 drive. Ideal for a quick in-and-out. Clean spacious bathroom, great for kids and accessibility. read more

Locally owned coffee shop right off 95 in Benson. It is attached to a gas station. My family and I spent the night in Dunn, NC on our way from Tampa to Pennsylvania. I wanted to grab a coffee from a local shop before getting back on 95 and heading north. While there were a few options, only one seemed to be open on Sunday morning. That was The Grind. We rolled in at 9:12. Online it said they opened at 9. I pulled the door. Locked. There were no hours on the door. Great, hoodwinked. Corporate coffee here I come. As I waited for a break in the pouring rain, a car pulled up and honked at me. Out steps the owner and his employee. They opened the shop. I stepped in and grabbed a cold brew (they serve Larry's Coffee) with oat milk. It was a good cold brew, that the employee asked if he could adjust in any way. I told him he did it well the first time and we continued our journey. Loved the cold brew and locally owned vibes. read more

I'm not sure how this happened but my to go coffee stunk like cleaning solution. I took two sips and took off the lid and smelled inside the cup. Sure enough it had a very present cleaning solution smell. So I threw it out. The place in general is a tad odd. It has a variety of food types like Indian food and an ice cream counter. Then, when I went into the bathroom there was poop on the toilet seat. The counter girl was friendly but I won't be back. It's not worth the price and the quality isn't there. read more

Lots of options - snacks, boba, coffee, etc. So pleased to see they offer lavendar syrup because it's hard to find and it's my favorite! Fair pricing but the drinks are made pretty sweet. I would suggest ordering half sweet here! Drinks were made quickly and service was friendly. read more

A nice little space to grab a quick cup of coffee if you're passing through the Benson area / driving the 95. Don't let the fact that it's attached to a gas station throw you off. When you step inside the shop, you'll find that it's cute and clean. The woman working behind the counter was friendly. Although I was only there to grab a cup of plain black coffee (which was brewed well and reasonably priced), from a glance it looked like they also had a pretty good variety of snack items to chose from if you wanted something a little more. Clean bathrooms and not being overly crowded make this a wonderful Starbucks-alternative. Bonus for putting your money towards a local small business instead of a chain. read more

Ordered two 8 oz Cappuccinos they were quite. The place has a drive through window and it is part of a gas station so parking is a bit tricky but it is right in the heart of town. It offers a full menu for breakfast and lunch. I was just passing through on my way home to VA, but will return next time I am passing through again. read more

This place is much worse than the reviews suggest. We ordered breakfast bagel sandwiches & they were terrible. The photo was of a fresh everything bagel with a freshly fried egg. I happened to be standing where I saw the young woman prepare our sandwiches. There was nothing fresh about them, bagel from a package & processed egg & processed sausage she warmed in a microwave. You all already know how I feel about starbucks...I love them. But this place holds its own!! Really good coffee, a number of different items, all good quality. I'm a black coffee drinker, so I can't comment too much on their other items, but people seemed to like them and the place was popping on a Monday morning. It is in kind of an obscure spot in NC (which has a lot of obscure spots) but it has built a nice niche in its location. read more

This is a super sweet family owned coffee shop. I was blown away by how professional, knowledgeable, and suggestive the young (teenage) man who took my order was. Oh and the coffee was amazing! I am traveling home on 95 and stopped at ex. 79 to visit the dog park. I accidentally took a wrong turn at the lights and pulled into the gas station where The Grind is located. I saw the sign for coffee and figured it would be a nice way for me to cool off while the dog was playing at the park. Little did I know I had just stumbled across a little gem! We went in today to get a coffee. AMAZING. Really good coffee. The service was excellent by a girl that was pleasant and polite. She makes a good coffee. We liked the Coffe so much we went back for lunch the same day. I liked the ambiance with the coffee clocks and coffee signage. The venue is eclectic with coffee, boba drinks, food, ice cream and pizza. The ONLY thing that made me feel sad was how hard these lovely employees work. It appears there is a need for additional staff so the girls aren't running ragged. They are so pleasant you would never know but I have managed before and I can see when help would be beneficial. Awesome Pit stop right off I-95 near Raleigh, NC. We stopped in from our road trip to use the restroom and get a drink. They offer a variety of ice cream flavors and baked goods, including gluten free cookie and Brookies, coffee and some tea options as well.
