The woman owner of the business was kind and engaged with the customers in line. For the giveaway we were told that there would be stuffed turkey legs or a chicken wings meal. When I arrived I was given a stuffed turkey wing. I would have preferred the wings meal. The turkey wing was stuffed with Mac, greens, & sweet potatoes. The mac & cheese slaps so hard as well as as the collard greens. TLDR: Long wait times. Poor customer service. Great food. Loved the garlic parmesan wings, mac and cheese, and yams. Wingz should have a pick-up area for online orders since the drive thru can be slow. I ordered takeout online on a weekday evening. The estimated wait time was 20-25 min after I ordered. However, I received a text that the order was ready for pick-up about 5 minutes later. I arrived at the drive thru about 15 minutes later. After waiting around 10 minutes in a stationary line of cars, I parked and walked in. The dining room is open again and only a few customers were inside. Although I was the second person in line (behind someone who already ordered and paid), it took over 5 minutes for them to acknowledge me. I said I was there to pick up my order and told them my name. They found the order and confirmed it with me. Turns out it still was not ready. Finally I received my order, I was too hungry to check it and drove home. Thankfully the order was accurate and everything tasted great. I would have left a much lower review if we hadn't enjoyed the food so much. They know how to season their food. Yes it's mainly with garlic, salt, butter, and pepper but still. We liked the wings the best followed closely by the mac and cheese, yams, and turkey bbq. I don't think I've had turkey bbq so I wasn't sure what to expect. I stopped eating pork for awhile now and my cousin told me about this place for some turkey BBQ. I prayed on the way to my cousin house that the food would be good. Honey, when I bit into that first piece I started doing the happy dance. That turkey BBQ sandwich was delicious! It was juicy and reminded me of the pork version a little. I didn't get the cole slaw but when I added a little hot sauce to it, it gave it that final kick. I ordered a side of fries with no salt and they were also delicious. Iam so happy I didn't check the reviews first because I might not have given this spot a chance. I have always always always had a great experience at this restaurant. But today was such a disappointment. Usually they have the wings just like I like. Not too big, not too small. I cannot eat jumbo or big wings. Today, my wings were huge. I ordered collards as a side which is supposed to be homemade with smoked turkey. The collards tasted like they were poured straight out of the can. No seasoning. & no turkey. I have had the collards at this restaurant plenty of times. I know for a fact the collards & the chicken were off. I had to throw my food away & go to Bojangles. Sad day bc I LOVE & support this place often. Hopefully this was just an off day. The only bad thing I can really say about this place is the pace of pushing out food, and keeping the line moving. Other than that, the food is always hot and tasty. I checked the reviews and I understood that it was either going to be a hit or miss coming here. It was a miss when I went. I'd been eyeing this restaurant for months and I'm a little sad that it was underwhelming when I went. The appearance wasn't all that but that wasn't what I was there for. There was also this white stuff on the corners, it was watery and the harden cheese sprinkles made me absolutely question who made this???? The only other place that serves Turkey BBQ, is "The Pit" downtown and it is $16 a pound, its good but it's is RIDICULOUS in price!!!! I only wanted the meat so I ordered 3 bowls of it, after asking her how much would feed a party of 5. She seemed unsure but was trying to help which, was appreciated. I also got some wings because I wanted to make sure I had enough food for my family. I ordered 20 wings. I asked for a suggestion in ordering the sauce and if I could get more than one sauce and she said I could. She recommended Sweet and Tangy. I also ordered the Hot Lemon Pepper. The wings were tough as nails. I like my wings crispy, but these were clearly, overdone. The food came out SUPER fast, so the food is not cooked to order, which is disappointing! I had to pay $1.75 per wing, due to a chicken shortage??, and not wanting a combo with sides, which wasn't hot and fresh. The Sweet and Tangy Sauce was really good but they could have used more of it. The Hot Lemon Pepper was super salty.
