A great food truck option at the Can Opener! We got the Wicked Chicken Sandwich (basically a fried chicken sandwich with spicy buffalo sauce). I appreciated how crunchy and tender the fried chicken was, but did find the buffalo sauce a tad too tart. Adding their creamy Mac-n-cheese to every bite quickly solved that problem though! I ordered the dinner plate which included eastern style chopped chicken BBQ, 2 sides (I opted for the potato salad and green beans), a roll and soda (pepsi or coke, you have options but lets just me honest coke is better) for only $10! Food trucks are usually a hit or a miss. To be honest, most time they are a miss. The $9-10 food truck prices can scare people away if they're not up for the experience. I have to vouch for Chick-N-Que! It's a hit! You may think to yourself "how good can chopped chicken bbq be?". It's quite amazing here! If it's your first time, I would suggest "The Bird's Nest". You can't go wrong with a bed of crinkle fries, topped with amazing chopped chicken bbq and cheese. There's a nice and light vinegar base bbq sauce in the chicken that gives it a perfect amount of saltiness paired with the amazing cheese on top! You might have to eat it with a fork but you'll be full by the final bite. read more

The owner of the truck couldn't have been nicer and really appreciated the visit on a rainy day. Turns out they've been in business for quite a while, but just started to go truly "mobile." I ordered the Chick-N-Que combo, which came with an original Chick-N-Que sandwich (chopped BBQ chicken topped with cole slaw), fresh crinkle fries and a drink (I chose an Arnold Palmer) for only $7. It was delicious and probably one of the cheapest deals around from a stationary OR mobile restaurant. They also have some other options including fried chicken sandwiches, healthier grilled chicken pitas, ostrich sandwiches (...?) and chili. We hit it up at the recent DCP food truck rodeo... we'd already gotten a bbq sandwich from another vendor, so we opted for the grilled chicken sandwich instead. I'm rather fond of food trucks that show up at my office once per week. Chick-N-Que offers a particularly delicious lunch that is absolutely terrible from a healthy food perspective. Eastern-NC style BBQ chicken is very good - particularly served over fries with cheddar cheese. Not something I would call a classy meal, but very good nonetheless. The slaw was fresh. The sauce was your typical vinegar-based Eastern NC style sauce but with a giant kick of spiciness! The fries were crinkle cut, just the way I like them (a substantial portion with seasoned salt). I got the sandwich, fries, and a diet pepsi for only $8 which I think is quite affordable, as these were substantial portions. The only thing I would change is the temperature of the que. It used to be very warm when served. The last few times I've ordered, it's been lukewarm. Stopped by at Shell gas station and found this resto next to it. They have chairs and tables inside. I asked what is a chopped chicken and the older lady kept on repeating "it's chicken chopped" repeatedly until somebody said "it's like pulled pork." Ordered Ostritch burger and you would not know your eating a bird. Loved the chopped chicken burger some found it a little spicy. I would go back for a pound of this chopped chicken. The fries were good, but they're store bought so not really something easy to mess up. The BBQ sandwich was so smokey I could not even come close to finishing it! I am a huge fan of the local food truck scene and I love eastern NC bbq, so when I heard about a bbq chicken truck my heart fluttered! I ordered the basic bbq chicken sandwich with fries and a pepsi. Total, my order (with an extra order of fries for my boyfriend) came to $11. The bun was nothing special. I was hoping the bun would be a bit bigger, toasted and more of a Kaiser style but no, it was a small bun, tasteless and very reminescent of something you'd find in a cheap store brand package of 8. The chicken bbq was ok. The chicken was beyond over shredded. The 'bbq' was vinegary like I prefer, but was incredibly over spiced (red pepper flakes and black pepper). I can handle spicy but this was too spicy for me to even finish eating. The fries would have been great without the seasoning they're dusted with. The seasoning was very lightly spiced and very heavily salted. Probably will not be re-visiting or hunting down this truck again. read more
