    The 2 meat sampler
    Todd Y.

Disappointment, ripped off are just words that come to mind when eating here. We live bbq and decided to try this place. It was the 2 of us, so we tried the 2 meat sampler... for what was being charged, we were expecting a good meal.. what we got was, a major let down.. 2 pieces of overcooked brisket and 8 burntends.. The blueberry muffin, there were no blueberries in it but it looked like it.. tasted like a box mix.. The beans tasted straight out of a can. The meal was very uninspiring and for the price you pay, you leave feeling ripped off..

Great bbq has arrived in Wake Forest. Smiths has opened a brick & mortar shop on South Main St. Stopped in on a Friday afternoon during the soft opening. Quality and taste is the same as the food truck! Finally had the chance to have the (beef) burnt ends. Crispy chunks glazed with a mouthwatering bbq glaze. Every bite is an explosion of deliciousness. Brisket is excellent. Lean, tender, moist with a nice peppery bark. Sides are perfect. Baked beans, simmered in sweet molasses with chunks of pork. Yaaaaas. Green beans, simmered all day with chunks of pork. Savory and delectable. And Mac 'n cheese, creamy cheesy and a little sweet with a dash of sweetened condensed milk. If you're a bbq fan, you gotta try this place. Excited to have you full time in Wake Forest.

Heard about this place via Instagram and decided to check it out. It's on Main Street in Wake Forest in a small shopping center. There's a walk up counter where you order your food. You can eat in or take out. The people are friendly and the food is good. It's a bit pricey, but as you can see the portions are ample. I didn't like the potato salad because I'm not a fan of chunky or dill but enjoyed everything else. The Mac and cheese is creamy and a tad sweet, but not off putting. There was a live saxophonist playing as well, which made things a bit busy/noisy, but I think perhaps that's a weekend thing. Regardless, If you're in the area and looking for some tasty Que/Smoked meat.. give them a try!

Look at the caramelisation of the pork!!!

We were at the "Dorothea Dix Park" for Falling Into Fall Fest and we saw the giant smokers and had to check it out. We were not disappointed by the quality of meat and the taste. The "Pork belly burnt ends" was so tender and sweet, crunchy on the outside and the inside was melt in your mouth. The Mac N Cheese is not for people on a diet. It was amazing ! It's good to support local business, if I was living in Wake Forest I'd definitely eat there everyday.

I've been wanting to stop in here and try this place for lunch but it's only open Wednesday through Saturday finally got in there for lunch ordered their pulled pork sandwich it was a very large portion and it tasted amazing they offer a lot of different sides that are made very uniquely the dining area is nice and clean and well kept Services very quick and friendly

Oh my flavorful goodness!!! Let's talk about this food; we'll get to the customer service later. The food was amazing. I could taste the smoke flavor. I had the chicken and my daughter had the burnt ends. She couldn't stop eating. She was just going to taste her food & ended up eating the meal. She said the greens were seasoned & so good. BUT THE MAC N CHEESE!!!! Deep sigh, fake faint, it had a sweet potato glaze mixture baked on top or something. FREAKING AMAZING!!! Every single thing was DELICIOUS!!! I'm just upset that I didn't get an extra side of Mac n Cheese. They are closed Sunday thru Tuesday. Now, the customer service was so delightful. It took me a minute to decide. The young lady at the register was really sweet and patient. And Ty was awesome. Ty told me I'd be back and yep, she was absolutely correct. I'm going back Wednesday. Oh yeah, they have brisket tacos with sweet potato tortillas/taco shells. I want to go and eat inside so my plump greedy self can see what else I might want while eating. lol. They offer a nice dining area with TVs. I give them 12 out of 10. Yep, 12/10. You have to run here! Not walk. In Wake Forest but worth the drive.

All I'm going to say is if you haven't been yet. What in the hell are you waiting for? You won't be disappointed at all. So good, make you want to slap somebody!

I enjoyed the Strawberry Refresher smoothie so well that I ordered another one on my way out! It was freshly sweet tasting without additional juices or sweetener. The little nibbles of almonds and dates made it perfect. My husband ordered the barbecue sandwich which is grilled with their Mac and cheese on the inside. I said I would just take a taste but it was so good I kept going back for little bites! The owner had a moment to tell us his story about developing his recipes and journey to opening the restaurant, so that gave the service experience that extra special touch! We are traveling from the land of Texas barbecue and the next time we're in North Carolina, this will be our first stop!

    Brisket Tacos, Thursdays only!
    Marissa M.

WOW! I went when they opened on a Thursday. The special on Thursdays is brisket or pulled pork tacos ( I got the brisket). I also got the drink special which was hot chocolate chai. Drink- very good and there were toppings available like marshmallows and whipped cream! Tacos- Probably some of the best I've had! They were an experience. The meat was very tender, you get sweetness from the sauce, crunch from the shell and a little tang/ heat from pickled jalapeños. Can't wait to try something else but Thursdays are for these tacos!!

The staff are all amazing... super helpful explaining the menu and favorite options highlighted. The food was amazing. I highly recommend everything we had. We will definitely be back. Yummy and again the staff/owner were delightful.

Once again, I am always willing to give restaurants a chance to prove me wrong... and once again,…read morethey have failed. My motto is simple: if you can't see the smoker and smell the smoke, the BBQ is going to be bad. This place is no different. My family ordered the pork belly burnt ends, pork ribs, chicken Philly, and smoked mac and cheese. Let's start easy--the mac and cheese. My grandparents used more salt and pepper in their mac and cheese than this place did. The only ingredients seemed to be noodles and cheese. What happened to flavor? Spices? Maybe some paprika, cayenne pepper... jeez, something. However, as a bit of a warning sign, the mac and cheese had more wood smoke flavor than anything else they served. Next, the ribs. Some people believe in the 3-2-1 method--I'm not a fan, but it can work. These people must believe in the 1-2-3 method: 1 hour smoked on a Traeger, 2 hours wrapped, and 3 hours cooked on high heat in the oven uncovered. That's the only way I can figure out how you end up with jerky-dry ribs. Not only were they dry, they didn't have any flavor. The chicken Philly was dry--my wife hated it. The pork belly burnt ends actually looked great--nice cube size, good presentation--but biting into them was a different story. Chewy, bland, and dry. I honestly don't know how you manage to do that with pork belly. Really disappointing experience overall.

The two of us eat at Over the Falls regularly and always enjoy it. I'm honestly surprised I hadn't written a review before. Lunch for two came to $65.80 + tax and tip, and there was more than enough food. I ordered one of my two favorites: the Ahi Tuna Pita (the other favorite is the blue cheese burger). I paired it with a side salad and blue cheese dressing, plus an unsweetened iced tea with lemon. My wife ordered The Barrel, their Philly cheesesteak, with a side of sweet potato fries. We also shared an order of house-made potato skins. It was far too much food, in a good way, and we took plenty home. Service was outstanding and truly a team effort. One moment stood out: when my wife hesitated to ask for sour cream for the potato skins, our server immediately said, "It's just 15 steps, let me get it for you." That small gesture made a big difference. The rest of the team was equally warm, friendly, and attentive. The ambiance works perfectly for us, lively, busy, and welcoming without feeling chaotic. I would be confident ordering virtually anything from the menu. We'll keep coming back.

The only meat I eat is turkey and seafood, so there's usually not a lot that I can order when I go places. But, there are so many turkey options. I was in heaven! I ordered the turkey bbq plate with greens (with turkey) and potato salad from Wings & Turkey BBQ. It came with a roll and some coleslaw, as well. It was very good. The Cajun pasta was pictured with sausage but did not contain sausage. We added chicken which was EXTREMELY dry, like it was days old or over cooked. Needless to say I was shocked, surprised, dismayed, and disappointed by this vinegary, chopped "mess". Fast forward to today, and I'm totally enamored by the vinegary chopped pork contrasted by creamy, crunchy cole slaw! Also, a few shakes of hot sauce never hurt 'nobody! When in the area, this is a great opportunity to satiate that addiction. We ordered the chopped BBQ plate, smoked chicken thigh, fried chicken sandwich. All very solid options. My least fav side was the cucumber salad, as it was too vinegary and could have benefited from a pinch or two of sugar. The BBQ was tender and flavored with a vinegar base (missing a pronounced smoke flavor). There is also the option to add a tomato/ketchup based BBQ sauce. While this is located in a gas station there are a few high top tables with chairs and we ate there with no issue.
