Shoutout to Brandon our bartender!!! Wow, great service is very hard to find these days. I eat out often and it is very rare that I encounter friendly, smiling faces and exceptional customer service! Brandon was all of the above and more. The restaurant was busy but not too overwhelming. We initially were seated in a booth, however we decided to move to the bar area for faster service. The manager frequently checked on us and comped our appetizer for the inconvenience. The bar area was clean and spacious with at least 3-4 TVs to catch the Astros game and college baseball. Everything that followed was 5 Stars....Cheese fries were crisp, piping hot and loaded with ooey goodness. Salads were freshly prepared with quality ingredients, Chimichurri filet was perfectly cooked medium. The Cucumber Kiwi refresher was the showstopper. It's a non alcoholic sparkling drink that's low in sugar but heavy on the cucumber. If you like cucumbers and very little sugar, this is for you! We had a slight delay in anyone coming over to take our order so we were going to move to the bar area. As we were standing up, the manager stopped to check on us. He was very apologetic and went to grab us some bread. We ended up moving to the bar area anyway, where we were waited on by Brandon, who was great. I love the bread here. It taste like a honey wheat bread. And With butter it's even better. Hey, Ya'll need to clean your steak knives better. I wiped it down myself and I know you put it though the dishwasher but it was kinda crusty. QAQC needed on that front. They do have a kids menu. But it's 10 and under now. I think it used to be 12. Most of their sides are on the boring side. Sorry. The good stuff are all an upgrade. We did a Tasmanian chili upgrade for $2.99 and it was pretty good. No beans too. Also did a steakhouse Mac and cheese upgrade. I asked what steakhouse meant and he said they got a special cheese apparently. Well tasted like regular cheese to me. But it was big and for that reason alone I could justify the upgrade. On the weekends all day and on Weekdays for dinner only they got Prime rib. And this is why we came. They only got the classic and not the outback take off which I saw on some older menus. We got the 1 pounder. And WOW. It was a handsome cut. I them to make it medium rare and to err on the rare side given the reviews I saw of overcooking. They did just like I requested. And it was perfect. The French fries are skinner than the big fries you sometimes see. They tasted good but nothing special. The house mashed potatoes were pretty good. Did the $14.99 three course special. Any sort of steak comes with a several bucks upgrade required. So I just did the bloomin burger. Partly because I wanted my kid to try the bloomin onion without having to get a whole bloomin onion. We liked it and with the bloomin onion sauce on the side it was perfect. They didn't ask how I wanted the burger cooked but seemed to be medium well or well done, with no discernible redness, which is perfect for me considering it's ground beef. Did the $3 upgrade on the trio special for desert which meant instead of the cheesecake we got the thunder down under for desert. It was a huge scoop of vanilla on a warm brownie which tasted awesome. Server was really nice and good. They actually got a bunch of folks doing different tasks like bringing your food and filling water in theory as I had to ask for a refill after my glass stood empty for a while. Manager stopped by to make sure everything was good. Gave her the thumbs up. They also got a loyalty program. The online ad says get a free bloomin onion and you click but it's not a signup reward. You gotta collect enough points to get something including that. Flash that AARP card to get a 10% discount. Yes be proud to have made it this far like me. They have a $10 special where you can take home a meal for the next day. See my photos for menu option on that as I didn't see it online. I like the mini computers at the table where you can order more drinks and food and also pay when you're ready to do so. Very convenient. A bit far from our place but would definitely recommend. I decided to order in for Valentine's Day & I was highly disappointed in everything about my order. I ordered both steak and chicken because I couldn't choose and both items were disgusting. The only thing that was decent was the baked potato and you have to build that yourself so that wasn't even because of them. I ended up just throwing everything away. Total waste of money. read more

We had ordered for dinner 2 Ribeyes with French fries/sweet patatoes/ceasar salade . As a drink one beer Miller and one margarita without salt . As received was a margarita highly salted (so they didn't redo the drink but just removed the salt that finished on the drink )the ribeye was greasy by taste and inside of the meat. Couldn't eat it anymore so I gave it to my man. He tried harder to eat it but it wasn't possible. When the waitress came to know how it was, she acted like she didn't understand . Happily the manager came and after saying in showing our plate she made a good action . We didn't pay for the ribeye and the margarita Will never come back Not a good place to date or enjoy a meat. Can't say anything about the food, we were ignored by our waiter, we never got an opportunity to order, so I paid for our drinks via kiosks and walked out. Where to start. Sunday evening. 7pm, not busy Outback. Soon to find out why... We were sat immediately at a dirty table at the bar by a pleasant hostess. (This is probably going to be the only positive of this review, the hostess, not the dirty table) our server, Alana, did a pretty good job of getting a greet in quick enough, and got out drink orders, and the bloomin onion order, then disappeared. Completely. A server assistant brought our waters and bread, and then a runner brought our bloomin onion. We asked her for silver ware and ketchup, which she turned around and promptly told our server . The nasty dirty part of the table was unfortunately right in front of me, I'm sure the guys would have ignored it, but i couldn't, it was old and gross, and big, and how it was ever missed is beyond me. The boys put a good dent into the bloomin onion before i was fed up and got out from the table and took silverware from the bar, still no ketchup. I WAS LOOKIN everywhere for a manager at this point, but nope, didn't happen. Finally Alana comes by to 'confirm' that we need silverware and ketchup... what?? No, we no longer need the silverware, but at this point, I was still hopeful for the ketchup for the now cold bloomin onion. Have I mentioned that we haven't even ordered yet? Still no ketchup, no manager, and no more patience. Luckily corporate companies know ahead of time the service industry is so below acceptable, they put the kiosks on the table so people who are so pissed they are ready to leave, but aren't lousy enough to walk out without paying. So, we paid , ticket number 226, table 12, Alana, I was so mad I inadvertently left a completely undeserved tip. Alana showed up with the ketchup, as I was finishing the payment, we told her we were leaving, and what does she say? "I don't blame you, there is too much going on" WHAT ? Who says that? No apology, no questions, just a lousy horrible excuse that was obviously a lie. As we were leaving, I asked to speak to a manager. The hostess went to grab a manager for me, but go figure, she was busy putting out a fire at a different table, not Alana's. I guess the other positive is the table kiosks that allowed us to end that Terrible dinner experience. I would suggest getting some observant experienced managers and do some server training. I would say get rid of Alana before she does more damage, but looking around the half full restaurant, I'd say that was too late. And obviously she won't get fired, corporations are too afraid to do the right thing these days. We won't be back. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by my dining experience here. I haven't been to Outback in years, and today showed me that I've been missing out. Amazing service, amazing drinks, and flavorful food. My waitress Sylvia was awesome, so attentive and friendly Bloomon onion 10/10 Margarita flight 7/10 it was on the sweeter side, and I didn't really taste the alcohol Steakhouse Mac 9/10 Coconut shrimp 6/10 it was good, but I've had better Wedge salad 7/10 was flavorful and fresh, but something in it was salty Due to the weather, I sat indoors, but I do want to come back and sit into their patio. Courteous and friendly staff, food is timely and accurate, and although I do not like the new hands-off approach for servers (as required by corporate) it is a great option for a steak and cocktails in a casual atmosphere. Every restaurant has issues acquiring and retaining quality staff in today's climate. Accepting the repercussions as diners is key to enjoying any dining experience. This location has a preponderance of excellent servers. read more

Checked on us frequently and when i complained about my meal he didn't hesitate to remove it from our bill. Taste - i ordered the Queensland chicken and shrimp pasta, the pasta didn't have flavor, the shrimp was salty, the chicken was overcooked. my wife ordered the Alice springs chicken, her chicken was actually cooked right and ordered a baked potato side and asparagus, she ate all her food cuz she was hungry. Value - $51.70 for one meal, desert and appetizer, no drinks. Too much for ok food. Cleanliness- clean restroom but no soap. You would have thought we were in a basic restaurant to not have soap. The actual restaurant was clean. Overall - I don't think i would recommend this place. Food was nothing special honestly. Doubt we will come back. read more

Celebrated a family get together here, called ahead and reserved a table. On a Sunday night we were able to be sat immediately. Service started out good then quickly got slow, sporadic, had different waiters dropping off drinks. Our main waitress took a long time to come back around to get the food order, but she was friendly when she did come by. Food was delicious. Ordered the Awesome Blossom and that's always a fan favorite. The prime rib and a salad. Manager comes out and says they're out of prime rib @ 6:30pm. Hands me a coupon that expires in less than 2 weeks for a free Blossom. That I noticed driving home and couldn't help but laugh about it. Here you go sir, a coupon for what you ordered that we didn't have that you'll probably never get to use because it'll expire before you get to come back. Meh experience. We went to Outback on Valentine's Day-- typically a crazy day for restaurants. The service was friendly and prompt by our waiter, Caleb. Two different managers stopped by to check on us (Scott was really personable) and most of all, the food was fantastic! I had filet mignon and my husband had prime rib. Chef's kiss!! As of this review, the 99 Spring location is fairly new... Shiny and aesthetic, with a cleaner & more modern look than it's predecessors. The waitstaff was friendly and very attentive. Food isn't glamorous, but it's nostalgic. We popped in for a quick bite & mostly shared a bunch of apps, We had their old claim to fame Bloomin Onion (salty, buttery, and flaky as expected), tried the Three Cheese Steak Dip (much richer, thicker, and heartier than traditional queso), and couldn't say no to the round after round loaves of the bread. Came for lunch on a Sunday. It was not super busy so we were able to get seated pretty quickly. The waitress came by and took our drink and appetizer order. The bread was delivered immediately and was served fresh and hot. The blooming onion came out not too long after, it was a little too salty for our taste so we had to take the breading off and just ate the onion. The meatloaf was delicious. It had a spicy kick to it with great flavors. The steak was good as well. The Alice chicken was a little overdone so it was a tad dry. We did not really care too much for the mac & cheese. The water was brought very quickly by another server. Then nothing! The maanger came over and chatted with a group of people seated close to me for about 15 minute. We decided for Valentines Day we would take the family out for dinner at to Outback Steakhouse . It's been years since we've been, and they recently opened at this location in Spring on Grandparkway. We visited the location at about 7 o'clock and due to it being a holiday there was a 45 minute wait which we had already expected . We were seated and quickly greeted by our waiter Stanley and immediately received our drinks and fresh hot bread . I tried a new mixed drink called the berry passion tini, it was delicious . I ordered the sirloin & ribs with a loaded baked potato and the Tasmanian chili . This was no ordinary chili ! It was made with steak and super delicious . I left my bowl completely empty . Everyone ordered steak and we all agreed it was delicious . The steak was well seasoned and juicy and cooked exactly as we ordered . My husband loved the steak fries . We finished our meal with a desert and ordered the Thunder & Lighting . It was different and had a butter cake , which we had never had before . It was yummy . This was a great experience and had an amazing waiter named Stanley . Stanley was so friendly and constantly checked on our table. We even overheard him talking to the other surrounding tables and were laughing at his sense of humor and easy go attitude during a chaotic evening . The food was absolutely disappointing! The steaks were so tough and the flavor resembled the smell of my dog's food! (Keeping in mind that I feed them top quality food) Actually it would be an insult to their brand of food! The salads were the part of a head of lettuce that one would discard, NOT serve! Outback had multiple locations in Houston in the early 2000's. Then a lot of them closed. I was sad time cuz the blooming onion was awesome as well as their steaks. I was so happy to see this location open and is a very good spot. However I am either mis remembering the outback of a while ago or they are sloppy. Salad served with chunks of the hard part of the stem. Fried mushrooms served burnt to a crisp. Steak under cooked. Experience same on multiple occasions. Definitely not worth a drive to get here. She didn't put my order in until everyone else got their food so i ended up getting my food to go. The manager comped my dinner thankfully very appreciative of him. I also ordered the bowl of potato soup and it was half full so that wasn't cool. And at the end of the night when we asked for 4 drinks to go mine was the only one that came out not in a to go cup. Glad to have this new addition to the plaza off of 99/Kuykendahl. They have a great patio next to La Madeleine and it's covered, so even at the 83 degree weather today, it still felt fairly cool (more about the patio later). They have greeters at the front that were polite and settled me promptly. The menu has changed a bit since I last visited an Outback, but still can get a good variety of appetizers, steaks, shrimp, and more. They have a variety of $7 drinks available and it's not just during Happy Hour! You get complimentary bread and butter (warmed and whipped). My server, Mia, had such a friendly and welcoming demeanor. She helped me pick out a drink that wasn't too sweet. Landed on the Spicy Mango-rita and I loved it. For my meal I had a 6oz steak cooked medium (chef got it just right) with a baked potato and asparagus. Everything was tasty a the service was prompt. In regards to the patio, this was no fault to the restaurant, but I ended up asking to move back inside because there was a table with a man talking VERY loudly on speaker phone (which a woman held up to his face) about his personal business and he went on for a few minutes. I usually am able to ignore, but it was so loud that I couldn't just enjoy the moment-please don't be THAT person. It is very sad... Sticky floors from the grease... In the restroom the floor is dangerously slippery. It used to be a nice place to go for an okay steak... Judging by our ribeye, the name "steakhouse" should be stripped from the restaurant! The piece of meat we had was chewy, full of connective tissue, rubbery and hard to swallow. "Shrimp on the Barbie" had never touched the grill!!! 4 pieces of baked shrimp on toast... The best items on the table were water and bread.
