While I still like their food the service tonight was abysmal .. had to ask three times for a glass of water, ask twice for a drink I had ordered. Everything ordered was messed up - the waitress was MIA and messed up my order even though I thought she had written it down. We made reservation for a birthday dinner. It's my boyfriend stepdad's 60th. The place looks a little old and outdated. Our waitress was friendly and fast. Bread basket with soft whipped butter came out first as a little snack. I ordered the steak and chicken combo medium rare. My steak came out a tad bit on the dried side and my boyfriend ordered medium well, his came out pinker. I should've traded steak with him. The waitress took his steak and they made him a whole new plate which was very nice of them. The step dad ordered steak and shrimp. They forgot about his shrimp but eventually it came way later when he was almost finished with his dinner. Overall the meal was good. I've been a patron of Outback for over 10 years now. It took me awhile to try it because I assumed it was just another steak house. But I was wrong. I've found the take time and put effort in everything to make and do. Especially the cooks. They prep fresh daily from scratch all their recipes for us to enjoy. So when I went to the Palmdale Outback I expected the same as all the others I've been to. From the beginning of our dinner with friends I noticed a few differences. Our blooming onion was small and greasy (very) I know it's fried but it seemed it had been made and then warmed up in the fryer. My husband and his friend had the surf and turf, they loved it. My friend got the 8oz filet she was very happy. And me I love beef dips so I ordered their sliced Prime rib dip. Well the bread was nice but the prime rib was sliced very thick which made it hard to bite through, and it had fat and very tough parts that couldn't be chewed. Very few mushrooms and the French onion dip was cold. I ate a much as I could and didn't say anything as to not ruin our evening out. My husband said don't order a sandwich at a steak house, I learned my lesson. But on a good note the staff was friendly, efficient and our server was fabulous!! read more

Not the Outback I remember from years past. I would have taken pictures, but there was little to appeal to the eye. First, the restaurant was not crowded upon entry at 8:45 PM. The dining room side had been closed and I noticed the chairs were already on the tables. We were a party of 5 pre-celebrating High School Graduation the next day. The hostess asked us to wait while the table was set. We waited 10 minutes to be seated in a half filled room. Another party of 5 came in about 5 minutes after us. They waited just as long. Not being in charge of our party, I kept my big mouth shut, not to offend the Father of the ‍, but I was ready to leave just before being seated because all signs pointed to an understaffed restaurant. SADLY, I was right. It turns out that there was one waiter, one busboy and one bartender, along with a Hostess who was more interested in cleaning the glass front doors while we were waiting than pitching in to help the staff. My husband and I have not come to outback in a number of years. It started off ok. We were told it would be a 35 minute wait but was pleasantly surprised it was only maybe 15 minutes. Our waiter wasn't super friendly but wasn't rude. Kinda got straight to the point which I had no problem with. He got our order in and drinks right away. He had to go to lunch which was no problem. Another girl introduced herself and waited on us. She was very nice. I felt that we kept having to ask for things. Asked for new bread, when they brought the bread they didn't bring new butter. So surely enough we had to ask. Asked for refills on drinks as well. When we received our food I was disappointed in the serving sizes. Prices here are not cheap and just felt there was so much empty space. I ordered the filet mignon medium and when I received my plate the steak was definitely well done. And super dry, I really hate sending food back but for the price I was paying I didn't think it was right that I eat something I don't remotely enjoy. I told our new waitress and she was very nice about it and had them remake me a new one. I got the new steak and it was now closer to rare. I didn't want to have to send it back again so I ate some of it and took the rest of it home to my dogs. We had a question on our bill and it took us forever to get someone to help us. Although once we found someone they fixed it pretty quickly. Overall it started ok then kind of fell apart. I don't think we will be coming back. The food runner brought us the wrong salad, server immediately fixed this and the runner also forgot to bring mac and cheese for my kids rack of ribs. Everything was decent until the manager came over to tell us our ticket had gotten "lost" so they just started preparing our food one & a half hour after of our appetizer had arrived. Got a free dessert for the misunderstanding. When the food came out, one steak was way undercooked & two others over cooked. Didn't wanna wait any longer so we just ate what we were given. 5/22/24- I took my father, sister and my kids out for dinner. This was suppose to be an enjoyable night. When we got there we went to the restroom, one of the workers was in there as well. She is young short and blonde, hair was braided to back in a singular braid-pigtail style. She walked out the bathroom stall, past the sinks. Yes, she exited the restroom without washing her hands. Later she brought out a kids meal to my table. When my server (Bryana) walked by, I asked her could I get that meal remade and someone else bring it out, because I was in the restroom with that young lady and she didn't wash her hands. There was no issue. A manager came out, apologized for it, advised they were re making it. No problem. We had just got the rest of our food, chatting and everything, then comes out the young lady I saw in the bathroom. She was assisting the table across from us with something. As she was walking away from that table, she is starring me up and down- mad dogging me. My father noticed it, we laughed and was trying to finish our meal- but the young lady decided to get half way down the isle, and starts talking reckless, and says something to the affect of "don't say shit to me". I was highly appalled. My father shakes his head, and I decided to not engage and act out. Bryana who was at the table across witnessed it. Came by asked what going on and apologizes. I asked her to get me boxes and a manger as my meal has now been ruined, I no longer feel safe for me and my family, and I am embarrassed. A manager comes out, it is no the same one that I talked to before. She ask me what happened. Her whole demeanor on how she decided to handle this was wrong. After I tell her what had just transpired, the first thing she says is I didn't tell her anything, I was waiting for the end of night. I replied somebody told her something for her to come out here acting like this. She later on goes on to tell me she is a child- almost like she is pacifying the situation. As I became anger she repeatedly states that she is going to handle this professionally. Almost as if me telling her what is going on is not in adequate manner. She then tells me she can discount the bill a little. She gave me 15% discount. My sister looks at it and ask her for what we just experience you think this is okay. Your employee disrespected and called out my sister- ruining our dinning experience. She then says well you guys had a lot of food at the table. We had two kids meals and 3 adult entrees- a meal for a family. She goes on to say well I'm doing the best that I can. I replied and you still got the little girl on the floor, she shouldn't be after all that just happened. She (the general manager) said well I'm sorry you feel this way. This whole experience was antagonizing and modern day racism. From the worker thinking it is okay to harass the customer because she didn't wash her hands when leaving the restroom, which is also a health code violation. To the manager downplaying the situation and insulting me with her comments and pricing. This is beyond unacceptable, beyond the lines of professionalism, and work code and ethics. This is really how the business is represented? I would greatly appreciate a call and some real resolution. Haven't been to Outback, Palmdale for several years so my friend and I decided to see if Outback has improved. We were both pleasantly surprised with both food and service ...but mostly the service! From the friendly receptionist to the waitress and helpers we were treated like new-found friends. Our waitress (or server), Ann Mary was outstanding!! My husband ordered an 18 ounce bone in ribeye steak. When it came out it was 1/2 inch thick with the bone the size of a dime. Furthermore, it looked as if it had been pounded flat. We went to this restaurant on Sunday. The outside dining was okay...a little hot on the back patio for some reason. The food was pretty good. I ordered the double lobster tails. This meal was about $ 30.00. My son ordered the combo, lobster tail and thick cut steak. This cut looks like a sizzler restaurant steak. Angela if thats her real name is a HORRIBLE WOMAN AND A HORRIBLE MANAGER!!!! We came to get seated and had a reservation done 2 hours in advance for 11 people. The lady on the phone said she was told by her manager she cant take reservations but she was willing to put us down for 11 anyway. So she did. We arrived and were told to wait. After nearly 40 minutes we asked to speak to the manager, who claimed her name to be angela . She told us she didnt want to serve us and she put us back in the wait line bc she told her staff not to take reservations. Thats not our fault , yet we were treated so badly and so rude. I tried to explain we had rsvp bc of this and she said she didnt want to hear it and she didnt want to service us. Then she got super loud and tried to embarrass us by saying as loud as possible, i am not serving you the door is there walk out or ill walk your ass out, and i will makw sure none of my servers will serve you. You dont make the rules and makes rsvps here. As i stared in disbelief, my husband interrupted and said dont talk to my wife like that, she went ahead annd said sir lets step ourside and deal with your wife's attitude . It got to the point she nearly spat in my face , i asked the server for corporate number and she ran to the server to tell them not to help us and that we had eyes and hands and to go google it ourselves. This is unacceptable and unbelievable that someone would even treat anyone else like this, let alone as guests and her own employees. Well as usual my buddy and I stopped in for our Friday dinner. We try and make it at least every other week and thus far we might have to go to weekly. The steaks are absolutely delicious as well as the broccoli and baked Potatoe. On three occasions our server was Cory, and he is an outstanding server. Cory alone gets (6) stars. This time around we had Desirae, and we have to give her (6) stars a big (10) and an outstanding. These two servers are extremely polite very professional and just great to be around. The restaurant with the incredibly shrinking portions and absurd menu prices. It has been some time since we were last at an Outback. I ordered the Outback Special steak which used to be 12 ounces at one time and reasonably priced but it has now turned into a 6 oz $17 waste of money. My spouse ordered a $16 chicken breast entree that was laughable...it was smaller than the palm of my hand. $16 for a tiny piece of chicken!!! Oh, I guess I forgot to add that they threw a few pieces of broccoli on our plates; by the way, your food is now placed on smaller plates so it seems like you're getting a plate full of food. We were not fooled by this trickery, lol. Our bloomin onion was over-fried and shrunken as well. Never mind the incredibly slow service.... Let me start with, we were regulars here until Sunday. I ordered what I always order a medium 9oz. sirloin, salad & loaded baked potato. I ate the salad which was whatever and when my steak arrived I cut it in half and almost lost my salad, I have never seen a more disgusting piece of raw meat. I flagged down the waitress and she immediately said she would bring me a new steak which she did. I cut that one in half and it was fine Until I found what looked to me like a 2" white worm, not pasta, not a bean sprout, I flagged down the waitress again and she immediately took my plate away and apologized. The manager came over and was very understanding as to why I lost my appetite and took the meal off our bill. All that being said, I have had more bad meals here than good, the service is good but the quality of food served here is bad I can't say it any other way it's just bad.
