After a really bad visit and some mis-communication we were able to work things out and my current visit was as good as my first. The food was hot and delicious. I was able to just relax and enjoy my dinner. Thanks to the staff that took good care of me too. read more

Everything from the service to the food was excellent! Danny was our server and he provided me and my son with 100% service excellence. I had a petite steak, salad and rice pilaf. I was surprised that they had horseradish for my steak and the steak sauce was yummy too. Tried the fosters Aussie beer and it was different but wonderful. I enjoy nice places like this. Overall I'm giving this Outback a full 5 stars. Wasn't the least disappointed and my experience was a great one. Happy Friday I even have leftovers. read more

LISSA was our server for our party of 6 people. I really like her way of being, her attention to what my family and I ordered, how friendly she was to us and how a hard worker she is. LISSA made us feel very good and I really liked her charismatic personality and she gave us an excellent service. I give her 5 STAR!!!. Came here as a party of 5. Friends and family. Made a reservation, got seated right away. Staff is friendly and nice. The wait time between the server greeting us, getting our drink order, bringing our drinks, taking our order, bringing our food, etc. was way too long. Restaurant wasn't that busy for wait to be this long. Ordered a full rack of ribs with a side of fries and mac & cheese. Food came out cold. Outback isn't how I remember when I was a kid and would go for special outings with my family. Sad to see it go so downhill. Skip it and head to Texas Roadhouse instead. It's cheaper, quicker, and food is always hot. read more

We came here for dinner tonight and as usual very pleased with the food. We have been here many times in the last 25 years. We had great service! My only complaint is that the restaurant is in need of a makeover. The booths are extremely uncomfortable! read more

Between Outback & Texas Roadhouse these are my two favorites for steak in Modesto. Awesome service at this location. Decent prices on what you order. Tasty salads, the best baked potatoes & if you're really hungry go for the cream of potato soup. Your steak will be made to perfection. Now let's talk about that loaf of bread they put on the table ...warm & delicious! Prices might be a little north of some on a budget but if you're gonna celebrate once in awhile put Outback on your short list. read more

I'm going to give Modesto's Outback Steakhouse a 5 because there is no other place in Modesto where you can get a decent steak. Ordered takeout last night and everything was absolutely delicious. Ribeye with shrimp was so tasty along with the Caesar salad. Of course I ordered island dressing with it because that's just me. The young man who brought it out to me was so polite, as I have found all of them to be,so professional. My complements to the cook as my steak was perfect in tenderness and flavor. A nice portion so that I can finish my steak and salad today. Will be returning much more often. read more

Nathan was a great waiter he was efficient and attended to all our needs thank you so much

Service? 5 stars. If I'm not mistaken, Amy was our host and she was great. Everything was timed perfectly, almost everything was okay. The only issue? I ordered their "Australian wagyu, bred in the USA" and It literally came out cold. I ordered it medium rare as I wasn't sure what the BMS rating was. The BMS rating would of dictated if I ordered it blue or medium rare. In order to not risk it, I ordered it medium rare. It came out cold and rare (manager actually told me their heat lamp was broken). Almost as if it was defrosted but not cooked from room temperature or it just sat too long under a broken heat lamp. Now let's add some fuel to the fire. I asked the waitress to send it back but to cook a new one as in my opinion it sat too long to redistribute the juice and recooking it would just dry it out. She comes back and she tells me they can't because it's a "$50" steak when in fact, they probably pay $15 a cut, where would the profits come? Instead, the Manager brings out the same steak and tells me to just try it...sure it didn't taste bad, but it was already tainted in my head. She offered me a "significant" discount which turned out to be $15...It would of prevented further issues if a new one was just cooked and brought back. Would this really hurt business? Highly doubtful. I would of been perfectly fine paying full price. Anyways, for what it is, what should i really expect? Thanks for the great service Amy. read more

The food was amazing, tasty and just right. We had a bday Celebration and the waitress who served our table was very nice and quick. This restaurant is pretty big You will have to get there at an early time because this place gets packed fast. I'll be definitely coming back for some steak and shrimp. read more

Pretty disappointed! Poor service from start to finish! Seriously...I can't understand how they can't figure this out! COVID is on its way out, so this is not the case. The only positive was a well made drink from the bar. When I spend over $100 for two...I expect more! I won't be back! read more

Service was fine but food was lacking. Steaks were overcooked for our whole party and the coconut dipping sauce had way too much horseradish. My steak was drenched in salt. Outback needs to focus on the details and the experience would be twice as good. read more

Always EXCELLENT SERVICE from ERIC in the bar area. Professionalism is a must with me! And He exceeds professionalism. Courteous, friendly, calm demenor, attentive, listens and responds appropriately. Drinks are always filled, when dinner is delivered he's alway there to see that Im happy with my meal. More servers should be trained by him and learn what a professional really is. Working with the public sucks. He has mastered this feat!. Outback is lucky to have him. I really wanted to enjoy my experience here since I haven't been to outback in a long time. The server was very nice but the food wasn't good at all. The blooming onion was so over cooked basically burnt. My daughters Mac and cheese was so dry and the fries were cold. I wish they would work on the food quality. read more

Amy took my order on 01/17/2019. Normally on the weekends, Outback won't honor either veteran or AARP discounts. I tried my AARP on a Sunday. Wow! It was honored. Amy was just as sweet as can be. Love coming here for the food and the great people. Got the double pork chop meal and the combination chicken, shrimp and ribs meal with two side salads to go. Got home. Ouch! One of my side salads was a broccoli. I called to let the restaurant know of the error. I spoke with Kat. Verified the spelling. How gracious she was in offering me a $10.00 gift card for the error. Ultimately? Mistakes happen. Outback makes it better! Their no rules, just right should include making it right. BTW; the food was fabulous!!! read more

I have recently been here twice with my boyfriend; we had a blast each time. Both times we had the privilege of having Phillip as our waiter, the second time we came in he remembered the specifics about what we wanted to order during our last visit pertaining to our meals and what we liked. It was a wonderful experience the food was excellent and the customer service was amazing! My Prime Rib with a Caeser Salad came out perfect and so did my boyfriend's Queensland Chicken and Shimp Pasta both 10/10 dishes! During our second visit, Phillip had a full section and managed to ensure our orders were correct, and checked in on us routinely. Most importantly he ensured that we had a great experience. read more

I like salty food but the food there was saltier than a salty woman. Even the Caesar salad was salty AF. Don't eat here. Go to Texas Roadhouse instead. There's a reason why there's never a line at this place. The host put us at a small table and we were a party of 5 and she put 3 people in a longer table, like no common sense at all. The server seemed like she was in a hurry to kick us outta there as well. Pricey but BAD food. Run away from here. read more

You got to be kidding me! We ordered steak to go and they put one steak in a styrofoam container without any sauces and broccoli in another container. This looked like a turd! And tasted like a turd. This supposed to be a filet!!! It was dry, over cooked and with no flavor! The steam broccoli was ok. Nothing special. We also got an order of mushrooms. They were ok. 1 meal cost $33! And it was terrible. We will never eat here again. Lesson learned. Check out the pictures. read more
