Food quality is meh . The whole outside of the building needs a makeover. The service was okay. All we heard was the mexican cook in the kitchen singing rancheras the whole time. read more

Food was EXCELLENT. Service was AMAZING. Big WOW for this restaurant. I was there about 2 years ago with a not very good experience by then but we went back today to celebrate my 55th birthday and what a wonderful experience: everything was excellent, just how it supposed to be: steaks cooked to perfection. Congratulations and thank you for making the best steak for my birthday . read more

Food was great...service was great. Really enjoyed the experience. Definitely will be going back!

We wend to celebrate my mother-in-law's 80th birthday. The food was great, as usual. We went on a weekday. We enjoyed streak, lobster, burgers, and, of course, the bloomin' onion (my favorite). The spices on their steak is the perfect blend. Unfortunately, the service was lacking. We were left unchecked on for long periods of time. Waitress was pleasant but did not go out of her way to service us. Meals were well portioned with plenty to take home as left-overs. It would have been nice when we asked for a bag for the waitress to bag our boxes of leftovers since we boxed them up ourselves and clearly had a senior on our party. Suggested tip amounts in the receipt start at 18%. Nope, not this time. But we did pay above 15%. read more

The water you couldn't even drink it from the taste alone so I asked for a soda and still had the taste. Got the chicken blossom. Chicken was easy to eat but the flavor of it wasn't good at all. read more

Expensive! Every time I order from Outbacks I spend about 80 bucks. Their ribs and rib eye steak are 10/10. My wife is a cheap date and only likes Mac and Cheese lol. She rates both Mac and Cheese options a 10/10. read more

Outback is Outback! The food is what you would expect. Was there to celebrate with a party of about 10 the waiter MESSED up the order, no other way to put it, he messed up! Thats not the review . The review is Elliot the manager he is a ROCKSTAR! He immediately did not make any excuses, he addressed the situation without undermining the employee and rectified the situation with the most professionalism and personalization. Kudos to Elliot!!!!! read more

Outback Steakhouse is bloomin' just like their onions! Impressed with the new menu items. I haven't been here in a while and decided to stop by on a Sunday. They have lots of great drink options now. Like the pina koala. The new items seemed to have an elevated feel to them. Not your typical chain restaurant feel. Staff was great. Our waitress was actually the manager. Loved that she was helping out in the bar area. She was really informative and kept checking in. Steakhouse salad was great had a nice twist with the brown sugar pecans and the blue cheese vinaigrette. The steak was on the chewier side though. The center cut sirloin was definitely a better cut and it was cooked to my liking. Cesar salad and French fries were the perfect sides. I'll be back and this time I won't wait so long! read more

Terrible! We waited a very long time to get our orders in. I ordered a peach margarita and it did not taste anything like it. It was very bitter and tasted like bad water. The plain margarita replacement that I got was much better. However these came in a regular water glass full of ice, so not your typical margarita order... the steak, loaded potato, and crab Mac n cheese were all on point. Our table was dirty when we first arrived and the though they wiped it down, there was still food on the edge of the table by the wall. They need to do a really good wipe of things before passing the table to the next person. We could hear them accidentally break a whole tray full of glass exiting the kitchen and had to wonder if it was our food. We spent a good portion of our time waiting for someone to let us pay the bill. I would be concerned about cleanliness and timeliness if I went here again. Compared to the same restaurants in other locations, this is the worst one. I would not go here to this location again unless there was a big change. read more

Pro: We visited the Modesto Outback while here to celebrate some family accomplishments. I called and had no problem reserving a table for 13. The hostess was awesome and took care of everything. Perfect! Love the ease and willingness to take on such a large party. Con: we got there for our reservation and ended up waiting 20mins past the time, and ended up at a table that was really too small for our group. But we love each other so we all squished together and made it work. No biggie. Food: Everyone loved their food. Bread came out right away, the blooming onions were brought out quickly. The only complaint was about a really fatty cut of the rib eye. But they still loved the flavor. The waiter: OMG! Best waiter ever. If there was ever a server you could request I would say always ask for Anthony M. He was super attentive, he recognized the special occasions we were there for, he was constantly checking on us and refilling drinks. Brought out ice cream for all the kids! He was just absolutely amazing!! I cannot say enough good stuff. If you see this review Anthony, you are the cream of the crop! Perfection in waiter form! If this was based just on the server, it would easily be 5 Manager: Not a fan. That's all I'll say. If I don't return, it would be because I didn't care for her demeanor and lack of willingness to work with a veteran and his family. She would be the reason I'd only give 1 star. Fortunately I had plenty of other good things about the experience. read more

I had the pleasure of having Anthony as our server. He has the best personality, greeted us and was very knowledgeable on the menu. Elliot also came by to make sure we were doing well. Not many people say good things about places. Great job Anthony and Elliot. read more

Went for Valentine's Day and regretting it, the waitress a young white girl with red shirt and ribbons in her hair was so rude and inattentive. She had no patience for my questions about the menu and rushed me into ordering. Every response from her was like she hated I was even asking her anything, the food wasn't good either. I order steak and it was rubbery and all fat. The potatoes had no flavor the only good thing was the soup. read more

Only reason they are getting 3 stars is because my wife's Filet & Lobster with loaded Mashed Potatoes and Caesar salad was good. Mine was simple a Bone In Ribeye (Medium), baked potato loaded with an extra sour cream and house salad with honey mustard dressing. No extra sour cream. The toppings for the baked potato didn't taste fresh. The ribeye had no flavor (I had to add a dry rub to give it flavor) and it was dry cooked to medium as requested. More like medium well. Trying to cut with a steak knife was like cutting leather. Not what I expected from a $36.29 Bone in Ribeye. This was a $94 dinner for 2 dinners that wasn't worth more than $30. I will not be back. read more

Full disclosure: my five star rating is based on a return visit after speaking with management about our poor service and disappointing food, at our initial visit. Our second experience was above and beyond! Our server, meeting the managers, and the FOOD, were all on point! Our bone-in ribeyes were cooked to perfection--juicy and flavorful, the sides were delicious, and the burger and fries were top quality...oh my...those fries!!! Three days later, and we're STILL talking about that meal. If Outback serves all their customers with the service and food we received at our second visit, it will return to being one of the best steakhouses in Modesto. We will definitely be returning. read more

Called over 7 hours in advance to get a reservation, they took our name phone number and reservation time, never told us anything about walk-ins Only, we show up at our reservation time and then they tell us it's a 35 minute minimum wait and that they "don't take reservations "but never said that over the phone so now we're sitting here at our reservation on "Valentines Day" time waiting for them to open up a table for us when we reserved one and was never informed that they don't take reservations or else we would've booked somewhere else so we don't have to wait a 35 to an hour long wait read more

Meh. For what we paid we would have done better at a different place. It was my husband's birthday and he wanted to go get steak, so he came here. He asked for a ribeye with bone-in, and got the tiniest little piece of bone with a lot of fat and unedible portion of the steak I had a hamburger that was okay my daughter had steak and shrimp my son had steak and chicken everybody's food was just that.. okay. But for $ $160 and then a good tip a total of 200.. you expect better. Probably won't come back. Poor quality steak and food was just average. read more

This is our second try at this location, first visit ordered ribeye, such a disappointment, meat was gristly and chewy, manager was very gracious and compted the dinner. So tonight we tried something different, half slab of ribs, the barbeque sauce was hiding dry crusty ribs, we mentioned it to wait person, she just smiled and asked if we needed anything else, not sure why we found humor in her response, also potatoe soup was ordered, the taste was very good, potatoe chunks were a bit large. Don't think we'll be back for a third visit. read more

Showing up slightly before dinner time the host let me know it would be a 30min wait but she didn't know for sure and gave me a feeling she didn't know how long the wait would be as she then said she didn't know. After her saying that we just decided to eat at the bar. Once getting to the bar there was a shift change so it took slightly longer to get service but that is not an issue. Once getting served our bartender/waiter was fantastic she was constantly checking on us. I was with a party of two and the only one ordering drinks from the bar. She was very attentive. The only negative thing I could say was the front of the house. The food did taste great but was nothing crazy. I will return to give this location a second chance to update the review. read more

Sadly the service was poor. The servers looked dirty. The man serving my salad had sweat pouring from his forehead, and had dirty fingernails. Thumb was actually in my salad, which I may add, I did not eat... My entrée was terrible... My potato was not fully cooked, and my chicken was rubbery and overcooked. I had to ask twice for my glass of wine because the server kept forgetting. To top it off, the restaurant itself was dirty. I will NEVER go there again. Ever. They need to clean the place up, and improve the quality of their food. read more

Very good if you're looking for a good steak or pork chop ect. It's been a while since I've been here. Friendly staff and prompt .good for either a semi fancy dinner or just a layed back meal. Being that Stockton no longer had an Outback Steakhouse. It was great to be able to come here and enjoy some favorite dishes after a couple hours of mall shopping. Great tasting bloomin onion with a steam n shrimp fettuccine pasta. So so delicious. We had a soft spoken nice server as well. Was nice to see a full restaurant with everyone out enjoying birthdays and time well spent together. Hoping their doors stay open for a long time to come read more

Had a really good dinner last night! I owned a steakhouse years ago and know beef. I had a great NY cooked to perfection and so tender and flavorful. Service was outstanding with Julia. Attentive, professional and delightful wrapped up in a beautiful young lady. A real treat ! Her support should be mentioned too! Thanks to you too Marcus! read more

You can count on this place for a decent steak, the sides are great and the service is usually good. We usually try to snag one of the booths at the bar, for faster service and not have to wait to be seated. They always have pretty yummy cocktails too. They are great for larger parties, we have celebrated many occasions here and have always left happy. We stop by here once or twice a year, not our go to restaurant but always consistent and can always count on it being good. read more

So, let me first say that my opinion of Outback has not been great. Their food quality has suffered, bad, and their service was just ok at best. Today, we decided to go because we had 11 people on a Sunday at 1:30 and they were able to get us right in. First off, let me say that our service from Hermelinda was absolutely phenomenal. She got a well deserved 30% tip on a pretty good sized bill. Secondly, every order came out perfect (we had a few change requests - all perfect). Thirdly, the food was delicious! I'm hoping this isn't a one off, I'm really hoping that this is their new normal. Bottom line, if you haven't been in awhile, I recommend giving them another shot. read more

Honestly, this place is a classic and I always love going here but I came here with my family yesterday and the service was beyond horrible. I get being busy but that doesn't mean your brain should stop working. Service was terrible. My drink that I ordered didn't even look like the picture and I've ordered it multiple times and it didn't taste like it usually does either appetizers came out. Bread came out all our food came out at the same time way to overwhelm somebody they tried to see us somewhere that was horrible. My steak was overcooked and the server was incompetent. I guess I'm gonna have to wait a few months to come back because this place is doing terrible. Nothing good to say honestly. Our server Talor was terrible and I always tip amazing but this time I could barely leave a two dollar tip. SMH do better or higher better people. read more

We were at #517 in Modesto last night. Just wanted to give high praise to our server, Daniel C. He appeared to be newish but did not falter at giving us great service. Sirloin steak was tough as a boot with not much flavor. Service was sparse. I won't be back.

It was a bad experienced. We waited for about 45 minutes to get seated, which we were patient enough to wait. But to get our food is a different story... We ordered our food and it took them 55 minutes to make. Sirloin with baked potato, New York with baked potato, which the steak was very chewie and a kids meal. We had to asked the waitress three times if our food was coming, she got the same answer, it's almost ready. Very disappointed. If you are starving don't go to Outback. You better off going to Olive Garden. read more

Let me start by saying we have been going to Outback (all locations) for decades. It's always been my fav. However after Covid things went down hill quick. Not just with Outback but most restaurants in general. It's almost impossible to find good service today. HOWEVER... tonight we went for a family new years steak dinner. Our server, Phillip, completely restored my faith in the outback. Service was top notch.. BEST we've ever had a the outback. Drinks never empty, food served promptly, and his warm and friendly demeanor and service was phenomenal. Left a generous tip, and will be back to this location just because of him. read more
