It seems that I can't get a correct order to save my life at this place. I ordered the Porterhouse for pickup. I went over, picked up my food, and was very happy for the 15 minutes that it took me to get to my hotel room to dig in to my meal. When I opened the tray, I noticed that half my steak was missing! I was like WTF? Then I calmed down, and realized that while I had ordered the most expensive steak on the menu, that's not what I got. I walked back over there to get the problem resolved. The kitchen had just closed. When I arrived, I wanted to talk to a manager but didn't get one. Instead, I was lead back to the to go area, where the girl grabbed my plate and ran off to the kitchen without asking me how I wanted to resolve the issue. I don't want a steak that's just thrown together in two minutes after the kitchen is closed. I'm pretty sure that I wouldn't get what I ordered if I did that, either, just a rush job slapped onto a plate that I'd be scared someone spit in out of spite because I brought it back. I paid with my card and got my ticket refunded, but since I tipped in cash, I was out that money and have nothing to show for it. Your job is literally just to bring people food that other people cook. That's like the easiest job in the world, and this place still can't figure out how to get people who can do it. Thanks for screwing up the one bright spot that I was looking forward to on this Father's Day. This is the ghetto Outback of all Outbacks. read more

We meet friends here every Wednesday evening. The food is good, the drinks are good and Michael, our waiter is awesome!!

Outback deserves 5 stars. Their Outback Special is awesome. 8 oz. steak, salad, veggies, potatoes., what's not to like! My favorite.

Apparently they believe in having their servers arrive an hour after they open... So plenty of tables open but the wait area full.. We left so did others .. read more

Outback Steakhouse - Lots if empty tables ..texas Road House was packed and were greeted warmly and no wait to be seated .. - Steakhouses Near Me - Amarillo, Texas

Pretty good food and I really liked the atmosphere. Never had a problem or major dislike of the food.

Let me first say, we LOVE the Outback in Longview TX. In fact, we are regulars there. However, this one let us down. Our waitress was very sweet. The food prep crew on the other hand needs some help. Our salads came out warm with several pieces of brown wilted lettuce. I ordered crab cakes hold the slaw and I got just that. Two lonely lukewarm crab cakes with no sauce. My daughter literally received 1/2 tsp of ketchup in her cup. When I finally did receive my sauce for my crab cakes it tasted like mayonnaise, not the usual remoulade type sauce. So disappointing. read more

So, I tried outback tonight..... Where should I start. Since I don't have anything positive to say about my experience I will write all about it. A few of our drink cups were dirty and had to get new cups, which were still dirty along with the silverware.. We waited for an hour to receive our food after we placed our order. Our food finally came out and it was COLD. Also, I ordered the surf and turf. The shrimp was ice cold and the 6oz steak tasted like a frozen steak from an online seller! The manager was apologetic and took off a few entrees. Sad to say I will not be eating there again. read more

Everything was great, we got the steak and all you can eat shrimp. The waiter did a great job and when we ordered more shrimp they brought it right out, not stall for fifteen minutes. Steak was perfect, so was the salad. We always been treated well here. read more

Their fries are literally soggy as shit everytime I order takeout/delivery. Nobody want those soggy ass fries

My favorite Outback normally.... tonight all steaks were well done, no matter how we ordered them, the mashed potatoes ran out and the subbed with baked potatoes without asking.... read more

This place should be ashamed to call itself "Outback"! Not one to usually post on Yelp about a sub par experience but this place is pathetic! Used to live in Amarillo 5 years ago and the last time we came here, the experience was the same! Waited 45 minutes for a table (ok it was 6:30pm) BUT then waited another HOUR for our food. By that time, I was full on bread and over priced appetizers. They finally tried to "remedy" it by giving us a free steak, but that's not how I roll. Definitely will NEVER come back here again! read more

We've been going to outback for a few years now and within the past 6 months have noticed a marked decline in food quality and service. This past time was the straw that broke the camel's back so to speak. I adore a good steak. and I'm willing to pay for a good steak cooked the way I order it. EVERY stinking time I order a blue rare steak from this joint, it's either cooked medium rare or rare. I'll let it slide if it's rare. I realize there is an art in cooking a steak blue rare. But medium rare? The entire flavor of the steak is changed as well as the texture. You've already figured out I got another medium rare steak haven't you? That was not the worst of it. The blooming onion was not the large or even medium onion they usually cook. this was a teensy tiny onion. the size of onion one would find at the grocery store. this is the 2nd time in a row that we have had a teensy onion. not impressed. We didn't get bread til halfway through the meal. i had to ask for refills for my son and i. My son never got his refill. Son ordered a bacon double cheeseburger. never got the bacon and the burger patties were pink on the inside. When we sat down we asked for checks to be split. when our check arrived it was one check. Never got to talk to a manager. I filled out the online survey and asked to be contacted back by someone so they could be made aware of the dwindling value of their meals/service. Still waiting for someone to call me back. I don't mind paying for value. But for fuck's sake, if I'm gonna pay for the service and value then I want what I pay for! On the upside, I found a bloomin onion recipe online, so i can make my own and I found that Texas Roadhouse makes a to die for blue rare steak! read more

Terrible terrible terrible! I ordered the ribeye, sweet potato and broccoli. The steak they brought out was SIRLOIN. The sweet potato have garlic butter instead of honey butter and the broccoli was in huge spears and was cold. I will never eat here again. I ordered my steak medium well and it was raw too. Disgusting read more

Last night I ordered to-go food through Matt and he was so friendly on the phone and I walked over from the hotel with my two kids and I was shorthanded with a two year old, food and drinks .. He and another server (didn't catch her name) ensured I made it with all my items. Above and beyond customer service!!! Thanks Amarillo Outback for helping out this Mom!! read more

This is the third year in a row that we have stopped in Amarillo on our way from Milwaukee, WI to Goodyear, AZ. We stay overnight at a hotel very near this Outback, and this location is one of the main reasons we dined at this Outback. It was a very short walk across a parking lot from the hotel to Outback. The food and service were very good and the prices were reasonable. On Dec. 27th, my wife and I had dinner at this Outback. Mike, the manager, was dressed in a holiday sport coat and tie and was very friendly. The experience we had with him made the dinner fun, especially after having just finished driving for 16 hours. Overall, we had a very good dining experience, as we did the previous two years. read more

The food rocks at Outback,it is what keeps us coming back, however the service 3 out of 5 times really bites. The salad will come as the meal comes,or they forget to bring the sides with the meal, bring out another tables entree to our table.Bottom line is,the staff must be really busy We will return soon ,We do appreciate those who appreciate us.Thanks read more

I never post on Yelp but have to this time. Service was horrible. Took 20 minutes to get drinks, 40 minutes for appetizer and then when the meal arrived I hadn't yet been served my side salad. The only saving grace was the bartender. She recognized the poor service. Food was good once it finally arrived. read more

Ordered food and picked it up to take back to the hotel. Was on time with pickup, staff was super friendly, steak was cooked perfectly. Only flaw was they forgot our cutlery we asked for since we were staying in the hotel. Everyone makes mistakes and we forgive them since the steak was absolutely perfect :) read more

Typical for an outback steakhouse, nothing surprising but nothing terribly outstanding either. I liked the new menu, the service was very friendly and attentive. I don't know if it's me but the overall portion sizes seem to be decreasing over time ... read more

Me and my husband have been here twice and neither times the entree was good. The appetizer on the other hand was quite delicious. We tried the grilled ahi and crab stack. They were both very flavourful. But the steak really really sucked. The first time was very dry and way overcooked and the second time was no flavour at all. It felt like the steak was not fresh. I cook way better steak at home with a pan! The service was alright. The waiter seems pretty distracted the whole time he was talking to us. It was not worth it with the price. read more

First of all they were out of the night special of prime rib and lobster at 7:30 pm. No substitute offered Service was slow..Appetizer came out very slow. Waitress was pleasant but not especially friendly Bartender was bringing out food so drinks were slow being delivered. Decided to have appetizers since special was a bust. My shrimp was dry over cooked and didn't hav a good flavor so sent it back for coconut shrimp. It was good. Place was very disorganized We were very disappointed. read more

Outback's takeout was the worst experience I've had in takeout. My loved one is in the hospital and this was one of the first meals he's asked for. He wanted steak and lobster. I get back and start unpacking the meals. They forgot our potatoes and Mac & cheese. There was no butter for the lobster tail. No utensils. And there were chives mixed in with the cheese and bacon bits for the potatoes (that we didn't get) even though we requested no chives. I called and they said I could come back and they would give me the potatoes and Mac and cheese. I requested all new meals considering everything would be cold by the time I got back with the potatoes. They said they would do that it when I got there to pick it up they only made one meal....but offered 2 loaves of bread and another mac and cheese. Again no utensils. If you have to eat Outback, make sure you check everything in the bag before leaving. read more

About a month ago my husband and I ate here and had a great waitress, Lily, great food and just had a fantastic time. We went back a couple weeks later expecting a similar experience, but it was not to be...our waitress was not Lily and she was slow. We sat there for about 15 to 20 minutes before we our waitress arrived asking about drinks and we went ahead ordered our food, since we sat there long enough to peruse the menu. We got our teas, mine half & half and his was a sweet tea, they were both unsweetened. When we pointed that out to her she informed us about the sugar on the table and the tea was suppose to be sweetened. Later, she come back and inform us we were right. Our food was very good, but with a storm coming in we wanted to get out quickly. I was about to chase our waitress down for our bill and then again for our change! Maybe we'll come back to eat, but I'm asking for Lily when we do! read more

We went there at 9 one night. The place wasn't busy so they had one server working the entire floor. She was super nice, but super busy and we barely saw her. There was another server sitting at a booth reading a book, not helping. I get that if she was off or on break she was sitting down, but she only got up once to pay a customer out. The food was ok at best. My chicken was way over fried and I would've sent it back but i didn't see our waitress for 10 minutes after we got the food, and i waited for 30 just to get the plate so i was in no mood to wait longer. I feel like if you pay those prices, you should get the best food. I don't think I've ever had a good outback experience, actually. read more

THIS PLACE HAS LOST MY BUSINESS FOR GOOD. Our family decided to celebrate Mother's Day here last night. I called last Thursday to set up a call-ahead seating for 6 pm. We arrived to the restaurant at 5:30. After hearing multiple times "we're just waiting on a couple more tables to open up" and our tables "are being cleaned and set up" we were still not seated at 6:45! My patience finally runs out and I ask why we are not seated, to which the hostess replies "we are waiting on silverware". Seriously?!!!! After finally being seated at 6:50, we manage to get a polite and competent server (thanks again Morgan!) and get our drinks and meals ordered. The assistant manager, Rowdy, stops by for the obligatory "is everybody having a great time" shtick. So I take the opportunity to inform him that I am anything but happy and explain why in great detail. His response was he'll "take care of it" and "dessert is on him". Then he disappears. Literally did not see him again for the remainder of our time there. I found out why when we got the bill. He, in fact, did NOT take care of it. This situation apparently merits the attention of Manager Cody (the same manager I spoke with to arrange our call ahead last Thursday). I again politely express my displeasure at the gross lack of anything resembling competent customer service. After waiting an inexplicably long amount of time to receive the corrected bill, we finally pay and depart. After checking my banking app this morning I discover my card was charged twice for two different amounts. Apparently fiascos of the proportion we experienced last night have a mandatory final kick in the pants the following day. I called immediately to get this corrected and end up on hold for over ten minutes waiting for a manager. I had to hang up and call back to get in touch with Christina. I'm informed it'll be taken care of after the lunch rush. Yes, of course, that's fine Outback. Why get in a hurry about anything? Let's just keep that standard going. Thanks for helping us make our Mother's Day memorable. For all the wrong reasons. read more

We went for a drink tonight and the bar tenders were arguing with each other and with the waiters. We sat at the empty bar for over 10 minutes before our order was even asked for. I was so disappointed in the conduct of the staff and the service. It makes everyone uncomfortable, and I am not in a hurry to go back. read more

Typical Outback. The food and service was good but not great. They initially forgot dressing on my salad and my coconut shrimp on my order. But that wasn't a big deal and were addressed for the most part. This is one of those places I like but not enough to go to very often. So with that said, I will go back in about 3-5 years. read more

My boyfriend and I go here all the time!! We almost never have a problem and when we do it is promptly fixed! The staff is amazing and the head bartender Sabel ( I think) is Amazing! !! We were originally undecided on going to hoffbrau or outback and ended up going to outback because of their closing hours being later. Glad we did! The food was amazing. We ordered steaks, cooked medium, and they were full of flavor. It had been awhile since we could say a steak impressed us! The service was good and the experience was positive. Would definitely return. read more

Strange. Today at 2:00, late lunch. No soap in the ladies room, hope there isn't a rash of food poisoning. Plus, large rolls of toilet paper stored on the floor inside the stalls. Obvious the restroom had not been serviced in a while. Ordered a sirloin, was served a filet, not complaining about the upgrade. But, mystery five dollar charge on the check, for two cold beverages. read more

My wife and I decided to have a nice lunch today so I thought The Outback would be the place to go. We had some of the lunch specials. The wife had Coconut shrimp and French onion soup. Her soup was great but the shrimp were not quite cooked through. I had the steak quesadillas and tortilla soup. The tortilla soup was edible but the quesadilla was bad. After removing the fat from the steak all I had left was a cheese quesadilla. read more

Came for early Mother's Day lunch. Very few customers in here. Waiter never came to table after manager sat me and my parents. Had to get up and look for water. Then waiter forgot the mashed potatoes on Mom's meal. And he never brought bread that she requested. I asked for medium rare cook on my burger and it came MEDIUM WELL. Find another place to take Mom. (Hopefully the coupons the Manager gave us can be used in another city). Mom wanted to go to Cheddars,...should have listened to Mom. read more

The night staff seems to be more on their game than the day staff, which is strange considering they should be the same people alternating. They've gotten rid of the green beans that made this place worth going to in the first place. The server was very attentive. The steak was excellent, but I would definitely rate it higher with green beans. read more

For an Outback, I found the food not very good. We were a party of 7. Two had salmon and, ironically, they were the only ones who enjoyed their dinners. The salads were not fresh-tasting & the tortilla soup was awful. The Ahi was nicely seared but very bland. The people who ate steak said it was just OK. Considering this is in Amarillo, home of some of the best beef & steaks anywhere, that's just sad. I won't be going back. There's plenty of places in Amarillo to get a great steak. read more

Monday Night about 8:15 Josh was my server the Bar. I had a side salad with a mustard vinaigrette and the PARMESAN-HERB CRUSTED CHICKEN, baked potato w/butter. It was all I had to eat the whole day except for some toast 12 hours earlier. I Was up all night with severe stomach pains and diarrhea. Hopefully this was an isolated incident or maybe a new employee that didn't wash their hands. I mean, I have a cast iron stomach ; I haven't had a reaction like that in maybe 10 years! The locations right since it was next to my hotel, but next time I pass through Amarillo I'll be looking for something else. read more

The first time I ate at outback I wasn't impressed, everything was mediocre and the price just wasn't worth it.
