Just a word if you use this restaurant to cater any meals for an event, get everything in writing. Do not take their word for a quote. Unfortunately we did not get our quote in writing on a recent event that we used them to cater. It cost our organization approximately an extra $5.00 per person and $500 for extra servers. This was a charitable event, which means our charity is the ones that took the hit for the extra money. It was that much less that we got to donate to the charity. Our charity just happened to be "Last Alarm Fire Company" We were told by the manager that El Patron does not support the military, or first responders. I hope they never need the Fire Department or the Police force, much less the military that fights everyday for our freedom. Arrived today about 2:45 pm. My order was to perfection. I has A cheese filled chili relleno, cheese enchalada with sour cream sauce. However, my husband ordered a chicken fried steak with fries and the waiter brought him a fried chicken salad. Not sure how that happened. We enjoyed our meal. Before we left I went to the ladies room. Sign saying to put all toilet paper into the trash not toilet. Big trash container next to the toilet - full with a stuck lid. Icky Ick! NO SOAP, NO PAPER TOWELS! How are employees washing their hands before bringing our food? If we get sick, I think I know the problem. We won't be back thank you! read more

Starting with the salsa. We asked for two more bowls. I ordered a spicy Margarita. It was the best I've had in forever. Not too spicy or sweet, very pretty. The WORST!!! The drinks were watered down , food was OVERLY SALTY . The charge you for an adult burger at $13 and a kids for $6 but they are the same size which is ridiculous. Stopped by on the way back from a road trip and was craving enchiladas. I guess here you cannot mix and match your enchiladas and when asked if I could get one of each (red/green/sour cream) our server said "depends on who's in the kitchen". I don't know how that is helpful, I'm a server and I would've said something like, "Let me go check if we can do that for you". The enchiladas were good, not the best I've had, wouldn't say delicious but good enough. The rice on the plate was better than the enchiladas actually. Also ordered the Barbacoa tacos. It was gross. Meat was very chewy, unflavored/unseasoned, didn't look appetizing at all, texture was just UGH. Definitely have had better and seen better, it was uneatable. I guess barbacoa is a hit or miss at some places and here was a definite miss, their asada meat was better. Pineapple Fresca was decent. Also, our server was unenthusiastic with us and very monotone but we saw him happily and enthusiastically greet and serve the table next to us. I asked for a knife and salsa rojo and he came back when I was already on my last enchilada. The service is excellent here. They are very attentive, but do not pester you which I love the food and drinks are excellent. And the atmosphere is not extremely noisy so it's a very comfortable place to just sit and have a conversation without having to yell over loud music or others around you. The lunch specials were pretty reasonable and the service was great. The food was pretty good. The Chile Relleno was very tasty, as were the Shrimp Enchiladas. The salsa was pretty generic, though. I don't know if it's homemade or not. I ordered a side of green sauce, and it was a lot better than the salsa and had a lot more spice. The rice and beans were tasty, and yes we found out that those can, actually be messed up from other experiences. All in all, it's a 4 star, mostly based on the Chile Relleno and green sauce. Updated my review as I've been back a few times. This has become our Mexican night place. Kids eat free on Mondays, which is a nice bonus. read more

My son had just gotten home from Las Vegas in which the food was all disgusting and overpriced (especially the Mexican cuisine) and going to El Patron was a perfect way to redeem his faith and ours too in great, authentic and worthwhile Mexican food! Went out with my dad a few days ago and had a rough experience. The wait was the biggest deterrent for me. It took almost 20 minutes before we were even able to place our drink order, another 15 to order our food, and who knows how long to get anything we ordered. The drinks were absolutely repulsive, but most of the food was pretty good. The waiter rarely checked on us; (Other staff tended to us more than our actual waiter) Several of the wait staff had the wrong table numbers and frequently brought us other people's orders. They double charged us for the drinks by mistake, but took forever to correct. Overall just a generally poor experience. I think the food was the only redeeming factor, but I don't believe it was good enough to make me want to bring my father back. read more

By far the best chips and hot sauce I've ever had. Be careful of the marguerites they actually put tequila in them. There is truly a generous pour. All in all this is one of the better Mexican restaurants I've ever been to. Every item they served us with handmade in their own kitchen! Nope! Two stars because it's at least edible. I found the food was very basic and flavorless while being drowned with salt. I had the fajitas with chicken and beef. It's not bad. That being said, it's not that great, either. Came here for dinner during the week with some friends. Stared our meal with the complimentary chips and salsa. I LOVE the salsa! It's not very spicy, but it's homemade and it's got a sweetness that is really refreshing. The chips are thin and crisp. I also got an order of the queso to start. You can skip the queso. It's nothing special. In fact, it reminded me of the Velveeta + Rotel combination I usually make at home. Shared the combination fajitas ($20) with the wife. Served on a sizzling plate is a mound of beef, chicken, onions and peppers. It comes with tortillas, guacamole, sour scream, and cheese. Rice and beans are extra. There's more than enough meat, but do they really think this is enough toppings? I used up my guac, sour cream, and cheese after one fajita. Doh. The meat was also overcooked. Since it's served on a sizzling plate, they're supposed to cook the meat a bit on the rare side because it will continue to cook quickly while it sits on the sizzling plate. Unfortunately, they cooked it all the way through and it continued to overcook itself while we were served. The service is outstanding. The server was attentive and our drinks were refilled often. The kitchen cranked out our food very quickly. The manager came over and checked on us a few times. Outstanding service. I would most definitely come back. We ordered online through Grubhub. There were items missing. I contacted Grubhub and they refunded our money but getting the missing items wasn't an option. I contacted the restaurant and they hung up on me. I called back and the person was very rude. She blamed it on Grubhub and refused to bring us the missing food. She told me I could come get it. So our food is sitting here getting cold while I'm on the phone and the people here tonight didn't get the food they ordered. She kept telling me they were busy and there was nothing she could do. I guess we're not as important as the customers at the restaurant even though we paid the same for our food as they did. I asked several times if they were going to make it right and she said no. Unfortunately, we will not be back. Service was okay, I am sure our server had better days. We went for the $1.50 margaritas & when we drank it it just tasted like margarita mix. We were greeted by the hostess, who walked is to our table. At our table we received chips & salsa. Chips tasted great they were thin & crispy however the salsa tasted as if it were store bought. I ordered Carne Asada Plate (Carne Asada with beans & rice) My boyfriend ordered tacos (hard shell tacos with beans & rice). Half way through the meal my boyfriend ordered another margarita but asked for an additional shot (which is an additional cost of $1.50) Our conclusion is we won't be back, we felt like we were at a backyard Mexican potluck outing. El Patron - 12/19/15 - 3:30pm A couple of our friends asked us to meet them for a late lunch and the boys decided on El Patron. They weren't very busy due to the time, so we had a booth right away. Our server did a great job of keeping drinks and chips filled and clearing dirty dishes. I love their salsa!!! Always! It's so fresh and flavorful. I wish it was a bit more spicy, but it's delicious nonetheless. This time we tried the guacamole which is also good, served with pico and cilantro, plenty of seasoning and lime juice. It is some of the better restaurant guac that we have tried (though I still like mine better!). One diner ordered the fajita quesadilla - I have never tried it but it was HUGE and smelled amazing. Trav ordered the chimichanga (his usual) and scarfed it in record time. He commented on how much he enjoys their Spanish rice, which really says something because he usually leaves the rice behind at other restaurants. I ordered the stuffed avocado (chicken) and I didn't realize that it also came with 2 enchiladas - that's a lot of food - so I ordered cheese enchiladas and had the whole mess topped with their delicious sour cream sauce and shredded cheddar. The enchiladas were perfect - HOT, creamy cheese, wonderful flavor. The stuffed avocado was the star for sure. Perfectly ripe, the avocado melted in my mouth and the batter was thin and crisp (even under the sour cream sauce). I was blown away by the well-seasoned chicken filling... Typically when I order stuffed avocados at other restaurants, the chicken is bland, but in this case the chicken had been shredded, super juicy, and had a powerful black pepper flavor that I am currently drooling over. As much as I adore stuffed avocados, I have definitely found a new favorite in town! Wonderful meal, fair prices, good service. El Patron always impresses! read more
