Food was okay, service was incredibly bad. My order of carne guisada with large soft nachos was good. I love that they bring out nachos with salsa right when you sit down. After they bring out your food though they ignore you. I sat down to eat with my wife and her friend but they got my wife's order of tortillas wrong. The waitresses and server didn't come back around at all to check up on us. We didn't get refills either and we are done eating and haven't offered us our checks a whole 30 minutes later. I eventually got the servers attention and asked him for refills. He then came back to ask us what our drinks were. We told him 2 cokes and a de pepper. And he never came back! We saw everyone else getting their drinks and the waitresses being super attentive to their tables except us. This is the absolute worst Mexican food my friend and I have ever had in our lives. We asked the waitress if we could order fajita veggies and she looked at us like we were crazy. She told me that they don't have fajitas and in fact they don't have any vegetables at all. What kind of Mexican restaurant doesn't have veggies? In fact while we were there, we overheard this lady having to tell several other tables that they didn't have one thing or another. I ended up ordering some cheese enchiladas and they tasted like a pile of salt. The whole dish looked and tasted like they had thrown some microwave dinners on a tv tray and served them to us. The salsa tasted like watered down marinara sauce. Everyone that works there is nice and I really wanted to be able to say that we had a great experience. But like I said, this is not the place you should go for good authentic Mexican food. read more

It's a shame I'll never get to actually taste their food. After waiting for almost forty minutes, my family and I left. We walked in with high hopes of trying a New Mexican restaurant. Had great reviews, nice pictures on Yelp. But that's all it had. We walked in, was seated fine. Even got our queso timely. There's where it all went south. Waitress asks if we were ready. Given they had only given us one menu for three people, and two bowls for the queso for three people, we asked for another menu and bowl. For some strange reason we got nothing but attitude after that. In fact she never came back after that. After twenty minutes my hangry self got up and left. We are now sitting at Rancho Viejo a couple miles away. Been here maybe ten minutes, our order is taken and the waitress is very pleasant. Now this is service! read more

Small, but friendly and fast. Hot sauce is good, the guacamole is very smooth but flavorful (I prefer a chunkier guacamole). No one in our party was particularly impressed with our items, and my enchiladas in particular were rather bland due to a lack of filling besides a dull beef. Some servers were nice but the first one was rather rude when telling me the policies of the restaurant disallowed me bringing my drink in. Combined with a fairly dingy location and I can't really recommend this restaurant in a city with many other options to choose from. read more

This place is disgusting. We went here after we had a couple of drinks at a local bar and were hungry. Having alcohol in our system did not help the cause at all. We wasted 20 dollars and had soggy nachos and even worse enchiladas. Their service was slow and the food did not even make up for it. The salsa was watery and had no taste. Unfiltered Amarillo water, you can taste it in the food. Cans of pop poured over Amarillo ice water cubes, YUCK! Stingy portions with bland flavor. Cocktail cups are used for sauce and they are slow to refill. Canned enchilada sauce!! This place is not good at all. It's obviously just a way for a family to make money. Cheesy Heaven!!! Not only is the food here irresistible, it all comes covered in cheese... real cheese not some canned imitation. The guisadada is the bomb; juicy and flavorful with plenty of gravy. The soft nachos are unique using flour tortillas instead of corn chips, basically it's an open faced burrito of awesomeness covered on gooey cheese. Many years ago I visited this restaurant and was thrilled with the service and I couldn't say enough about the food. Recently I took a friend back to La Frontera , as I have to save up for this. Upon entering the restaurant the cashier/waitress said just choose a table ,and we did. We noticed that there were several tables that had not been bussed. We also noticed that there were two women in the kitchen area that seemed to be just standing around. I thought well, I'm looking forward to this yummy meal! Meanwhile the table next to us left more than half of their food not asking for carry outs. That should have been my hint. The waitress was sweet and served us with a smile and brought whatever we asked for. The food however, was not up to the par of what my pallet remembered. The hot sauce was tomato juice with some seasoning, no onion or tomato or jalepeno to be seen. The queso was no more than powdered cheese with seasoning. No veggies either. The chips were very good! The rice was tasteless, the frijoles were ok. The enchiladas were just ok. Where is the family that had the same waitress for years and served excellent authentic Mexican food as per the commercial! The salsa was very watery and bland and the red enchilada sauce was not authentic red Chile! I was also annoyed that they charged an extra dollar to add cheese to any item on your plate.
