We ate lunch there a few days ago. Place was clean as a pin and the service was great. We both had beef enchiladas... they were very tasty but the texture of the meat was so finely ground that it kinda' ruined the enchilada. I now know that they make brisket enchiladas. Good Food & Service We have eaten here several times over the past few years. Have enjoyed the meals each time. Easy to locate just off 45th Ave although it is off the beaten path. I eat there after church several times a month. Its usually pretty good. My husband had Covid and I ate there with a friend today. I got a take out order for him as he was hungry for Mexican food. I brought it home and it was dry and salad was mixed with what there was of the queso together. The beans were dry abd the chip savck was soaked with the cheese sauce that was supposed to be on the enchilada. I paid over 10.00 so I paid for terrible food! So when I got here for lunch everything seemed fine.. Untill the waiter came to our table. Nice guy but he instantly spilled salsa all over my wifes lap and then gave her some paper towels. Then the food came out. The wait wasnt long because we were the only ones in the restaurant but it was all served on plates that were all cracked and chipped and you could see all the brown bacteria in the chips of the plate. I am visiting family in Amarillo and this is the second time to eat here. Both times they we're busy and the food arrived quickly, fresh, hot with an authentic Mexican flavor. The green chili caso is a must have. Hatched chilis in a white Mexican cheese, not spicy with great flavor. 1st time I had the brisket nachos and the 2nd time I had the brisket tostada dinner. They have suck everytime we have been there. Haven't been there in a long time, maybe they have have changed but I doubt it.

The food was hit-and-miss. The chicken and onions on the fajita plate were hot and flavorful. Queso tasted more store-bought than homemade. Chips were thin and crispy, but salsa lacked in having any heat to it. The refined beans were not salty which I personally prefer, but some may find it to lack in flavor. My biggest issue was with the tables. The seating was rather uncomfortable and many of the tables were very uneven. The waitress even made a joke about how she had to be careful where food was being placed because of how messed up they were. read more

Where to start?.... Atmosphere is cliche for a texmex restaurant and the bar is uncomfortable. Chairs are awkward feeling so you want to place your feet on something to balance your self. Chairs are to high off the ground to place them there and there is no rail off the bar. Your either left with dangling them off your seat swinging like a toddler or you gave to hold them in place on the chair. This turns into an exercise of endurance since you need to flex your legs to keep them pulled back in an unusual angle. If the exercise wasn't bad enough the "Flaca Tacos" were a mess. Who ever thought to build lettuce wrap tacos with iceberg lettuce was a moron. They sent what turned out to be 4 thick triangles of lettuce on a plate piled with poorly seasoned chicken scraps tossed with corn and black beans. I couldn't get one in my mouth. I'd say the only reason I'd come back is to see if there is a woman out there who can fit those tacos in her mouth so i can propose marriage. read more

We use to eat there now and then but the last few times it was on a down hill roll; We all became sick after the meal, something didn't taste right when we ate it; Against our better judgement we ate it anyway. The chips and hot sauce are always good thou, along with the queso too. The price is commensurate with quality and quantity. I wouldn't recommend it because of the last two visits we had. Actually this review is for the La Fiesta on Ross-Osage across from Sam's Club and next to the Post Office. I've heard the La Fiesta on 45th isn't nearly as good, so I stick to my spot. Order the nachos grande ....and be hungry because with 2 people munching on this huge plate you probably won't have room for the entrees. The Fiesta sampler costs a little more but is excellent as well. As for the main course, the deluxe dinner is pricy but would fill a competitive eater. The fajita meat is delicious! Super tender and great flavor. The margaritas are very good and prices very reasonable for portions. If I'm eating Tex-Mex that is a little different than ordinary I go to Leal's, but if I want traditional this is where I go ....oh the sopaipillas make a great finsher,if you have room! read more

I was brought to my table and the first thing I noticed was food on the floor. Upon pointing it out the hostess statex, "I guess I need to sweep that up." REALLY! ?!? I ordered a beer plus those napkins. She said she forgot. She brought back the beer but no napkins. I went ahead and ordered the chicken and steak fajitas with corn tortillas. Ten minutes later I got my order plus those napkins! Of course, I also got flour tortillas! !! After sending those back, I tried the food and the steak was so rubbery that I couldn't eat it. Only thing is that I asked the server between two flavored margaritas, to see which one was "the best" and before i could finish my sentence he said "Do you have ID?" Which is totally fine because it is his job except that (as a fellow server, that serves in Dallas) you should probably not be so rude and wait till they are done ordering to finally ask for an ID. Then when I asked him the question, "Which is better, the sangria swirl or the prickly pear swirl margarita?" His response was that he didn't know what the prickly pear even was. Like what?? You don't know your menu? Another thing, the pear marg is $7 while sangria is $6, way to upsell dude... goodness. I just ordered the sangria rather than bothering anymore with this guy.
