This was a good restaurant. The waiter was very attentive. The manager even came over and asked us how our meal was. The atmosphere was pleasant and quiet enough for my husband and I to hear each other when we talked. My husband and I both had the 12 ounce ribeye and they were juicy, tender and cooked the way we asked. We both had a loaded baked potato and it was nicely done and well loaded. I had a side salad with ranch and it was very fresh and tasty. My husband had the broccoli and it was tasty and well cooked. I asked for a lemon drop martini. It was not on the drink menu. The waiter was very helpful and showed me a blueberry martini which I declined. He said the bartender could probably make a usual lemon drop martini because she was very good. Aspen Creek is very similar to Longhorn or Logan's Steakhouses. The food is as expected, very consistent, very unsurprising, just solid , value priced , family type restaurant. My experience here was quite underwhelming. The food was simply decent however the customer service was completely deplorable. Zero accountability. Hey Juan you can't work the "takeout" counter from in the kitchen but why were you in the kitchen goofying around ? How do you fall behind 3 to go orders when the restaurant is completely empty? What value do you add to the company ? Their staff is compromised of younger workers who stand around and walk off in the back portion of the kitchen or they stand by the bar and literally do nothing. Management must be a joke. Dirty entryways and unclean tables ... inappropriate conversations I had to hear from workers who weren't working ... Easily an establishment I will never patronize again. The attention to details are lacking but more importantly the goal of providing adequate customer service is not a priority. read more

I've been looking for a replacement, and for a sandwich that shouldn't be that hard to make, it seems that few restaurants can do it well. This is one of the few that can! Previously we had enjoyed a good meal there. Today was not pleasant. Someone who worked there stood beside the people's booth behind us and carried on a lengthy conversation practically in my ear. Good thing I wasn't trying to have conversation at my own table. Then there was the employee cleaning blinds and heater vents in the eating areas while customers were being served. Perhaps they don't understand dust floats in the air? The steaks were under cooked--one practically raw. Cold green beans. First time visit, great experience, was greeted at the front door by two employees holding them open! Sitted at a nice clean booth & welcomed by Dutch, our server. He was a professional waiter and exceeded all our needs. Observed Natalie, the manager training and coordinating employees in a helpful and respectful manner, she also greeted us and gave us a complimentary free appetizer card for our next visit. THIS visit was not good. My Monte Cristo was overcooked in old grease to the point it was almost inedible. I mentioned this to the waiter when he asked how everything was and his response was "sorry" and he walked away. I ended up removing most of the bread and just ate the contents. When he returned with the check my plate was full of greasy hard bread. Obvious there was a problem. He didn't care. Service was amazing, attentive but not interrupting too often! Table was sticky but I wasn't sure if that was just the kind of spray they used. We went here for valentines and it was really busy but we still got seated fast and served very quickly. Fried pickles were pretty good, and the steaks we ordered were cooked perfectly. Since COVID Aspen Creek in Amarillo is the worst place in town to eat. You go in and order soup and it comes out not even Luke warm it's still cold . When you bring the cold soup to the managers attention, who looks like the homeless guy who's was begging for money outside and the manager asks what do you want me to do about it? If you have to ask instead of getting the issue resolved then you shouldn't be the manager. I'm not sure if they are open from lunch on but you could not eat lunch with Aspen Creek after COVID. This review pains me to write. The menu is similar to InterUrban out of the OKC area, which attracted me. We arrived at 8pm on a Sunday when they close at 9. I called ahead and they said they had a short wait 10-15 mins which was exciting because we were hungry. We arrived and the restaurant was half full. The hostess asked us to wait 10 minutes so she could get us a clean table. When a restaurant appears not busy but you have to wait with a smaller party, the reason is often that servers have been sent home, so there's no one assigned to those empty tables. That said, the wait was short for a table. We ordered quickly as we were very hungry. We had simple orders but the food took an absurdly long time. Then we saw the family that ordered after us get their meals, then a couple again after them get their meals. They checked on our orders in between but weren't quite ready. By the time we got our food almost an hour after we sat down, my husband's and my protein (chicken) was room temperature though his sides were hot. My kids' food was also room temperature but they needed to eat. My plate took 10 minutes to come back from the microwave (it was the same chicken) but my husband's was no where in sight. We waited another 5 minutes to get it back and it was tough and gross. I ended up sharing my chicken (which was fine) with him and he left his on the plate which they kindly refunded. On the upside or weird side, the bathrooms were fun. I've added a picture because they were that amusing. Two stars because our server tried so hard and we were sat quickly. read more

Good menu! Love their fish dishes. Good steaks and appetizers are excellent. They are a bit pricey but who isn't these days. Nice portions. Love their fish and chips and you can get any side instead of French fries. They are good but tooo much fried for my taste. Waiters are very personable and check on drinks often which I like because all these other restaurants use huge glasses, Lots of ice and the drink gets watered down and you never see the waitress till they bring your ticket and expect a tip! The balance of the waitress and time is pretty good. I just hate they open so late daily and Aspen Creek was a get guys! Girls, groups lunch place during early week. No more. Boooo!
