My husband and I love "Good" cajun food. It is often hard to locate. We definitely found it.! We had the mambo trio. (fried gator, fried fish, fried shrimp.) it was so crispy and lightly battered and cooked to perfection . It is a little spicy, but just enough to make it the best tasting seafood. The french fries are so crispy and Light, just scrumptious. The wedge house salad is made with Romaine lettuce and a balsamic drizzle with bacon, etc. it is fabulous. The waitress couldn't have been more helpful and tentative. She helped us a bit with making our decision of what we ordered according to what we had told her we preferred. As we were there for the first time she brought us a small cup of their gumbo. Flavors in the gumbo are so complex wonderful. Everything was just the right amount of spice and seasoning. The ambience was a cool Cajun by. There were TVs for not wanting to miss a game, etc., and a a small bar where I saw s a bartender making beautiful cocktails. We normally do not have dessert. However, we boxed our entrée, to go home with us so we could have room for their Belgian waffle dessert. Let me tell you we were glad we did. The dessert was gourmet.! Took a friend there for her birthday in the evening. It was her choice. I have to eat gluten free so the few "GL" designations were helpful but it would be nice to have more options. My friend chose the Lazy Susan which looked good and ample for the $19.99 fee. I chose the Blue Cheese Wedge (GF) $5.99 and added grilled shrimp. I was disappointed that I was charged an extra $12 for only five small shrimp to be added on top. I expected more! It looked more like an appetizer and was charged $17.98 for it verses $5.99 on the menu for just the salad which was about 6 x 3 inches long with a sprinkle of tomatoes and too much dressing. We also got two hurricanes and one Peanut Butter Pie (GF). I didn't care for the hurricane drink but my friend (a younger person) liked it. The dessert was just ok. I wouldn't order it again. All fees charged were more than printed on the actual menu so expect to pay more than what is posted. Service was just ok (Ester). Got the job done but not much else. Nothing personable not even a smile. The table was sticky and felt dirty with an icky feeling. I won't go back unless it's for my friend's request for her birthday again and then I might beg to differ. Our bill without gratuity was almost $70! Too expensive for mediocre! read more

We went in a little bit late, but they treated us just as great as anybody.\n It was our first time eating there and we had lots of questions. Our waiter Thomas was phenomenal. He answered all of our questions and help us find a meal that would be perfect for us. And it was He nailed it. He was so friendly and professional and met every need we possibly had with a smile and I loved how interested he seemed to see how our visit went as we ate a bunch of new foods that we had never tried. Our family has been regular patrons of this local establishment. Unfortunately, the last 2 or 3 visits have caused me to rethink our loyalty. Every aspect of Lazy Gator's quality has declined. No longer are catfish filets offered, they no serve LG fish??? Fried catfish is now fish nuggets? Jambalaya now tastes like a precooked dish coming out of a bag in the box. We will never come back, as there are too many good local restaurants to support. Service is fine; but food quality is similar to chain restaurants. read more

The food was amazing! My hubby had the Lazy Susan, that was just the right amount of heat! I had a beef cutlet with Cajun white sauce, green chilis and shrimp on top of season fries (can't remember the name) it was scrumptious and the ($3) margaritas were great. We chatted with the owner who is super nice. And the waffle desert was chefs kiss and the topping off to make this a great dinning experience. I've had mixed experiences here. I've gotten curbside pickup food a couple times and food was great, but last time I went in and ate and got the fish and chips because I've been hearing from friends that it was really good here and it was always sold out early before I got off work (during lent). Well the fries were cold and fish wasn't cooked very well it was still kinda mushy. Our service was good though the waitress was very nice.
