First time in the downtown area of Amarillo. Hotel right down the street from Furrbie's. I actually didn't know what the place was until I got a closer look. And for some reason, this place is not on Google Maps (I did add it after my visit). I'm glad I decided to check out the Yelp page. And I was sold as soon as I saw that they had a peanut butter burger. You place your order at the counter. I'm guessing it was the owner who took my order. She was super nice. I never saw the menu, just went off of previous photos. So she asked if I wanted a double or single patty. I went with single and that was more than enough. You can look straight ahead, in the kitchen area to see what fountain sodas they have. After I placed my order I grabbed as seat as they were going to bring it to me. This place was not busy at all. I went in around 3pm. It is very spacious inside. Nothing seems cramped. The food is freshly prepared and it didn't take long at all. Everything was great. Perfect amount of peanut butter. The burger had good flavor. Bacon was cooked perfectly. Tots were crispy. This place should be hoppin with how good their food it. I would definitely come back. read more

We stopped here while driving through on a road trip from CA to OK. I think Furrbies was my favorite stop on our entire trip! The burgers were delicious (I have two picky eaters and they loved as well), but the service was my favorite! I love this place! I've been here twice now and wish I had tried it out sooner but it's not real close to where I'm at. The first time I got the extreme cheeseburger, I think that was the name, it was covered in cheese to the point where the cheese ran off it and sizzled in a ring around it. Not some phony baloney cheese wannabe but the real deal. It was delicious. I love places with fresh cut fries and the ones here were top notch. Highly recommended. I bet their tots are good also but I doubt if I'll ever be able to not order the fries. I just went again today and tried the bacon peanut butter burger which was every bit as good as I expected it to be. When I found out they had apple dumplings for dessert I made sure I only ate half my food so I would have room to at least taste the dessert. I ate about half of it also. The fries were wonderful again. They have daily specials Monday through Friday that include a drink so I'm going to get that next time. I don't remember the exact order but I think the daily specials include cheeseburger, Patty melt, ham and cheese sandwich, and BLT. The specials include a side and a drink. Not only that but the waitresses are excellent, super friendly and efficient. Another thing that impressed me was how clean the salt pepper and ketchup were. I mentioned it to the server and she said they sterilize them between every customer. And as soon as someone gets up to leave after finishing their meal, a person rolls a cart over there within 60 seconds to clean the table and remove the dishes. That's pretty impressive. Great little hole in the wall place in Arlington. We had a party of 17 and the waitress and owner both did a fabulous job making sure our order was taken in a timely manner, and was delivered to the table as quickly as possible. Their bacon cheese burger and hand cut fries were tasty! Their prices were very reasonable. Would definitely recommend Furrbie's when if you're looking to support a small business while trying something new. read more

Our party of four stopped in for lunch at Furrbies on a road trip last week, because we try to patronize small local businesses rather than chains whenever possible. It unfortunately was a wrong decision this time. I thought my 20-yr-old daughter was being overly cautious when she asked if there was cheese on the nachos - seemed like such a silly question. The waitress said yes, there was. But - surprise - there was no cheese on them when they arrived. I'm not sure what made them "nachos!" We politely pointed it out the waitress and asked if she could bring some melted cheese to add to them, which she did. When the bill came - we were charged an additional $4 for a "side of cheese." This was only one of the four orders placed, and there were issues, unfortunately, with all four. (And our group rarely complains.) Next time through town, we will give our business to another restaurant. read more

So disappointing... I was so excited to try the burger after seeing some reviews here... timed my walk from my hotel perfectly to arrive at 11am when they advertise they open. To my dismay, the door was still locked, no worries, sometimes we all get a late start. I peeked inside to see workers standing on the back wall; maybe they are having a pre-day meeting, I'll wait. Tried again 11:05, still locked, workers still standing around. I wait outside the door. They have to see me, right? It's cold out, wind is blowing pretty good... they do see me, right? Try the door again at 11:08 after walking around the corner to try to block the wind, surely it's open now? No, still locked. I give up. I walk away, if they don't want to open on time, I'm not giving my business. Hopefully the next time I'm in town reviewing local restaurants, they will be open on time. read more

Where to begin... after a 9 hour drive, eating fast food and gas station food for the past 2 days. We drive into Amarillo and were looking for somewhere to eat, looking on Apple Maps for what seemed like an eternityand saw this place and figured we would try something new. It did not disappoint one bit. Super friendly service and food was out in 5 minutes. The burger was great, fries amazing. But their bbq sauce was incredible. Even asked if they sell bottles of it, sadly they don't. Which is good because sweet baby rays would go out of business immediately. read more

I cannot describe what I feel about this place, the food tasted like puke, and the beverages had a metallic dirt taste to them. On the other hand the waitress was really nice and our food came to us in a timely manner. But I do not think that the good service out ways the bad food in this circumstance. I first visited this cafe in 2007 while riding my bicycle across the country. It was the only gay-friendly place I could find online, and the food and service was great. They welcomed my bike inside, too. Fast-forward to 2024, and now I live in Amarillo. Rather than hit a chain restaurant along the freeway, I rode to Furrbies and was pleased it was still there. There was no bike rack or even a parking meter, so I brought my bike inside. There was plenty of room where it was out of the way. The cashier was on the phone but managed to bark at me that the bike had to stay outside. I wanted to discuss it with him (previously brought it in, nowhere to lock it up, etc.) but I was so put off by him unnecessarily being a huge D I left. I hit up Six Car around the corner, walked my bike in, and no one batted an eye. I had GREAT sliders there and a beer brewed on-site for a grand total of...$8. Can't beat the service at Six Car, or the food or IPAs. Needless to say, I'll never go back to Furrbies. It's not friendly, let alone gay-friendly. There are so many boarded-up businesses in Amarillo, especially downtown. Hopefully Furrbies will either change its tune or shut down like so many other restaurants in town have. There's a reason they're not even on Google Maps--they probably don't want a raft of bad reviews like this one. read more
