We were trying to find something fun to do on a Wednesday night, so we called ahead and asked if anything was going on. They told us that, for the first time, they were doing online Jeopardy that night. We figured, why not?! We went over, started playing, and ended up hanging out and playing all night. Such a fun way to spend an evening on our Route 66 road trip!
We also ordered the large Italian sub toasted and split it between the two of us. It was plenty of food for us and really good! The bread was soft and delicious, even toasted, and most importantly, it didn't tear up the roof of your mouth. Definitely a great choice to share!
The bar itself has a really cool, nostalgic, laid-back feel with license plates, galvanized metal, foosball, a fun billboard-style table, and lots of little things to look at.
They also have a HUGE variety of drinks. Tons of beers, ciders, Route 66 sodas, and plenty of other options, so there really seemed to be something for everyone.
The bartender was great, the whole family was incredibly friendly, and the overall vibe was just welcoming and fun. I also have to mention that the bathrooms were super clean! Always a big plus, especially when you're on a long road trip.
We love finding unexpected local places like this along Route 66, and this was definitely one of those stops. Good food, great drinks, fun atmosphere, good people, and a really enjoyable night in Amarillo. So glad we found it!
